Well, after being disactive for a few days (okay, a lot), I'm back with a new post!
This post is about the most anticipated game of 2013. GTA V.

Rockstar Games just posted a new "Asked and Answered" post on their websites.
They answered questions about PC and next-gen console, new gameplay video, the new GTA multiplayer, delays and more!

Here are some of the BEST questions they were asked and they answered.

Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game we have yet created, and takes full advantage of every ounce of processing power available in the current generation of consoles. In order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 systems. For Xbox 360, Grand Theft Auto V will ship on two discs; Disc 1 will be used for a one-time mandatory install and Disc 2 will be used to play the game. After the install, players will be able to enjoy both Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online without any need to switch discs.

This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance. For PlayStation®3, the game ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game. The install is roughly 8GB, and players will be able to play as soon as the install is complete.

No this is not a flight simulator, but an artistic combination of awesome old school space invaders style game..

even though I have no idea why i mentioned the space invaders part.

Now, Back to reality!

The game is actually called Beat Hazard Ultra.

Why? well because the game is powered by your music.

Beat Hazard is a game based on your music, its beats. bass. And Volume

The game is basically about to kill your enemies while your firepower and enemy firepower depends entirely on statistics of your song!

Beautiful..no? you are the small one!

The only reason i am posting a review at this game because of its great visuals, creativity.. mass selection of perks/ weapons and collection of songs.

The game itself basically have 4 or 5 gamemodes, and comes with its own selection of songs which you can choose to begin with.
It supports upto 2 players offline local multiplayer with 2 gamemodes Co-op and Head-to-Head (A gamepad is required)

But what's head-to-head?
Head-to-Head is a gamemode like versus gamemodes in fighting games e.g - tekken
But unlike tekken, instead of killing your opponent you have to score higher than him/her/it.
tip: try getting him killed then upon dying he'll drop 25% of his multipliers (score boosters) and grab em' all

In 2 player offline multiplayer, i prefer Head-to-Head mode, because in Co-op you and your partner have combined 3 lives, whereas in head-to-head there are infinite.

This game has stunning visuals, runs smoothly and what-not! you enjoy your favorite dubstep/melody at the same time!

*Note. This game is not for photosensitive people, I.E if you feel unwell infront of random flashes and glare of lights then stay away from this game.
Also, deaths have been reported to people who play songs of following bands/singers: Justin Beiber & 1 Direction.

Maxis Unveils The Sims 4

On 6th of May, EA games posted the following on their website -

The Sims 4 announcement comes at a difficult time for EA. The company has been restructuring since the departure of its chief executive, John Riccitiello, in March, resulting in job losses. It has also canned the Facebook titles, Sims Social and SimCity Social. The main Sims series has always been a reliable cash cow for the publisher, attracting a vast community of ardent fans – some of whom were invited to a special unveiling event for the new title.

Features

You can buy property; houses, garages, businesses and marinas can all be purchased for extra revenue sources.
You can pick up hitchikers, do stunt jumps and flying challenges, take part in yoga, golf, tennis, bike races and triathlons.
iFruit, the game's new phone, can be used to snap pictures and upload them to Rockstar's Social Club
The phone also has apps. In addition to the camera there is internet, contacts, social media, a calendar, and a replay missions app. There are three more Rockstar hasn't yet revealed.
A combat roll has been introduced for moving between cover
Liquor store and ATM robberies is possible.
Side missions will be making a return. One would involve Michael in Vinewood Boulevard racing a starlet away from the paparazzi.
Citizens will react to what you do, and if they see you robbing someone they could alert the police, film you, or even try to take you down themselves.
Hunting animals.

Customization

Player customization - tattoos, haircuts, clothing
Vehicle customization - paintjobs, wheels, window tints, grills, spoilers, along with robust performance upgrades to suspension, engine, brakes, and more that make meaningful changes to the way vehicles feel and handle

Police Encounters:

The classic wanted system will be making a return - with five stars instead of the usual six.

They make the police encounters sound better, too. In this new game, we can still try to escape the circular zone that flashes on the mini-map when cops come after our malcontent protagonist(s). But, this time, we'll be able to try to hide inside that alarm radius, if we'd like. The cops will use a line-of-sight system, so they won't just magically know where you are. If they have a helicopter in the sky, they'll be able to see plenty. And you'll see them use hand signals to communicate what they're doing.

Skill Categories:

Each character is rated in a series of skill categories: Stamina, Shooting, Strength, Stealth, Flying, Driving, Mechanic, Lung Capacity.
Each character has a 'Special': Franklin is an adrenalin junkie and can slow down time while driving; Trevor has a frenzy mode, where he does double damage, takes half damage, and has a unique melee attack; Michael has his own version of bullet time
Specials are governed by a meter, it drains after use and recharges slowly
Other skill categories are shared and can be improved by completing missions, side missions, activities and more
Trevor will always be the best pilot, Franklin will always be the best driver but each can improve their proficiency a little
One of the skill categories is stealth, suggesting players will be able to take different approaches to missions

Map

Similar to previous GTAs, the map isn't landlocked (surrounded by water).
The map 3.5 times the size of Red Dead Redemption in terms of playable area above ground. Five times if you count underwater area.
The geographical scope is huge and spans:
Mountains
Rivers
Lakes
Military bases
Farmland
Desert
Dense urban environments...and more
An underwater ecosystem exits, "the sea is teaming with fish and sharks"
A deer and a wildcat were spotted in the mountains.
Treasures can be found underwater, but NPCs will be looking for them too
Shipwrecks, sharks, hidden treasures and more could be found underwater
The entire world is populated with fitting wildlife and inhabitants unique to specific areas

Heists/missions

'Mini heists' are used to teach the player about preparation. Players must secure vehicles, outfits, masks, the getaway vehicle.
These build up to a bigger heist where the execution must be flawless. They'll require the right crew (which you can recruit) and players will have to decide on the cheap option, which results in less skilled people, or paying more for skilled crew members that will take a larger cut of the money.
These additional characters will be able to specialize in different areas such as wheelman, gunman, technician, and so on.
Hiring the same crew members across several heists (assuming they survive) will allow their skills to improve
There will be visual and audio alerts from your other characters so you're not completely caught off guard in case things get hairy.
You can attack targets by stealth or brute force. This will affect the content of the heist.
A huge payout to split between the crew
After-action report that tallies your total cash haul, each surviving member's cut, and any profit you managed to earn

Refinements to combat:

Weapon selection has been overhauled: You now select your weapons from a weapon wheel.
Fluidly run and gun from the hip while still maintaining complete control of the reticule
'Combat jog' that allows you to move at high speeds with your weapon out, but not raised.
Camera pulled back when zoomed in over the shoulder to open up players' field of vision
Combat roll to move strategically from cover and evade incoming fire
Reticule switches from white to red to identity an enemy
Tiny 'X' flashes over the reticule when targeted enemy is killed
Variable targeting options including free aim, soft lock, and hard lock (similar to Max Payne 3)
Smoother transitions when moving in and out of cover

General

The character selection wheel is split into four triangles: Franklin, Trevor, Michael, and your multiplayer character
Some boats will include gear such as wetsuit, flippers and tanks for diving
GTAV rewards exploration, there's no signposting underwater, so you'll have to find the treasure the hard way
Dives won't offer massive payoffs, but will "help grease the wheels"
Pressing Down on the d-pad will drop the play in and out of multiplayer.
There are subtle differences in the way each character moves to reflect their personalities; Michael is slower and deliberate.
Rockstar says there will be five times as many pedestrians in GTAV as there were in Grand Theft Auto IV
There's a "crazy level of detail": Tourist buses can be boarded for a tour of celebrity homes, film posters are plastered on the walls, men in comedy costumes try to corner you outside the Cathay Theatre, including the Superman-like Impotent Rage and Master Chief riff, Space Ranger.
You can switch between Franklin, Trevor and Michael during a cutscene, manually, or automatically when the AI takes control for you
Each character has a job to do, how much you switch yourself in or let the computer do, is entirely up to you
If you die the game reloads to the last checkpoint, even if two other characters are alive
Although it's up to the player when they switch, dialogue will suggest ideal moments. For example, when Michael and Franklin are being overwhelmed by snipers, Michael might ask for Trevor's help.
There is a wider field of vision, and players can run-and-gun
There are some restrictions to character switching, such as how you can't abandon a character while you have a Wanted Level. Lose the heat first! The character selection meter will let you know when you can swap out.
Michael's obsession with classic films translates into in-game set pieces based on real world movies. In the demo the three characters mount a heist very similar to the one from Heat.

Ten frequent causes for PC crashes and how to prevent them

You have just been struck by the Blue Screen of Death. Anyone who uses Microsoft Windows will be familiar with this. What can you do? More importantly, how can you prevent it happening?

Here are the ten most common reasons for pc crashes and their fixes.

Hardware Conflict

The number one reason why Windows crashes is hardware conflict. Each hardware device communicates to other devices through an interrupt request channel (IRQ). These are supposed to be unique for each device.

For example, a printer usually connects internally on IRQ 7. The keyboard usually uses IRQ 1 and the floppy disk drive IRQ 6. Each device will try to hog a single IRQ for itself.

If there are a lot of devices, or if they are not installed properly, two of them may end up sharing the same IRQ number. When the user tries to use both devices at the same time, a crash can happen. The way to check if your computer has a hardware conflict is through the following route:

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Device Manager.

Often if a device has a problem a yellow '!' appears next to its description in the Device Manager. Highlight Computer (in the Device Manager) and press Properties to see the IRQ numbers used by your computer. If the IRQ number appears twice, two devices may be using it.

Sometimes a device might share an IRQ with something described as 'IRQ holder for PCI steering'. This can be ignored. The best way to fix this problem is to remove the problem device and reinstall it.

Sometimes you may have to find more recent drivers on the internet to make the device function properly. If the device is a soundcard, or a modem, it can often be fixed by moving it to a different slot on the motherboard (be careful about opening your computer, as you may void the warranty).

When working inside a computer you should switch it off, unplug the mains lead and touch an unpainted metal surface to discharge any static electricity.

To be fair to Mcft, the problem with IRQ numbers is not of its making. It is a legacy problem going back to the first PC designs using the IBM 8086 chip. Initially there were only eight IRQs. Today there are 16 IRQs in a PC. It is easy to run out of them. There are plans to increase the number of IRQs in future designs.

Less or bad ram

Ram (random-access memory) problems might bring on the blue screen of death with a message saying Fatal Exception Error. A fatal error indicates a serious hardware problem. Sometimes it may mean a part is damaged and will need replacing.

But a fatal error caused by Ram might be caused by a mismatch of chips. For example, mixing 70-nanosecond (70ns) Ram with 60ns Ram will usually force the computer to run all the Ram at the slower speed. This will often crash the machine if the Ram is overworked.

One way around this problem is to enter the BIOS settings and increase the wait state of the Ram. This can make it more stable. Another way to troubleshoot a suspected Ram problem is to rearrange the Ram chips on the motherboard, or take some of them out. Then try to repeat the circumstances that caused the crash. When handling Ram try not to touch the gold connections, as they can be easily damaged.

Parity error messages also refer to Ram. Modern Ram chips are either parity (ECC) or non parity (non-ECC). It is best not to mix the two types, as this can be a cause of trouble.

EMM386 error messages refer to memory problems but may not be connected to bad Ram. This may be due to free memory problems often linked to old Dos-based programmes.

BIOS settings

Every motherboard is supplied with a range of chipset settings that are decided in the factory. A common way to access these settings is to press the F2 or delete button during the first few seconds of a boot-up.

Once inside the BIOS, great care should be taken. It is a good idea to write down on a piece of paper all the settings that appear on the screen. That way, if you change something and the computer becomes more unstable, you will know what settings to revert to.

A common BIOS error concerns the CAS latency. This refers to the Ram. Older EDO (extended data out) Ram has a CAS latency of 3. Newer SDRam has a CAS latency of 2. Setting the wrong figure can cause the Ram to lock up and freeze the computer's display.

Mcft Windows is better at allocating IRQ numbers than any BIOS. If possible set the IRQ numbers to Auto in the BIOS. This will allow Windows to allocate the IRQ numbers (make sure the BIOS setting for Plug and Play OS is switched to 'yes' to allow Windows to do this.).

Hard disk drives

After a few weeks, the information on a hard disk drive starts to become piecemeal or fragmented. It is a good idea to defragment the hard disk every week or so, to prevent the disk from causing a screen freeze. Go to

* Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-Disk Defragmenter

This will start the procedure. You will be unable to write data to the hard drive (to save it) while the disk is defragmenting, so it is a good idea to schedule the procedure for a period of inactivity using the Task Scheduler.

The Task Scheduler should be one of the small icons on the bottom right of the Windows opening page (the desktop).

Some lockups and screen freezes caused by hard disk problems can be solved by reducing the read-ahead optimisation. This can be adjusted by going to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System Icon-Performance-File System-Hard Disk.

Hard disks will slow down and crash if they are too full. Do some housekeeping on your hard drive every few months and free some space on it. Open the Windows folder on the C drive and find the Temporary Internet Files folder. Deleting the contents (not the folder) can free a lot of space.

Empty the Recycle Bin every week to free more space. Hard disk drives should be scanned every week for errors or bad sectors. Go to

* Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-ScanDisk

Otherwise assign the Task Scheduler to perform this operation at night when the computer is not in use.

Fatal OE exceptions and VXD errors

Fatal OE exception errors and VXD errors are often caused by video card problems.

These can often be resolved easily by reducing the resolution of the video display. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-Display-Settings

Here you should slide the screen area bar to the left. Take a look at the colour settings on the left of that window. For most desktops, high colour 16-bit depth is adequate.

If the screen freezes or you experience system lockups it might be due to the video card. Make sure it does not have a hardware conflict. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Device Manager

Here, select the + beside Display Adapter. A line of text describing your video card should appear. Select it (make it blue) and press properties. Then select Resources and select each line in the window. Look for a message that says No Conflicts.

If you have video card hardware conflict, you will see it here. Be careful at this point and make a note of everything you do in case you make things worse.

The way to resolve a hardware conflict is to uncheck the Use Automatic Settings box and hit the Change Settings button. You are searching for a setting that will display a No Conflicts message.

Another useful way to resolve video problems is to go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-System-Performance-Graphics

Here you should move the Hardware Acceleration slider to the left. As ever, the most common cause of problems relating to graphics cards is old or faulty drivers (a driver is a small piece of software used by a computer to communicate with a device).

Look up your video card's manufacturer on the internet and search for the most recent drivers for it.

Viruses

You saw that coming, right?
Often the first sign of a virus infection is instability. Some viruses erase the boot sector of a hard drive, making it impossible to start. This is why it is a good idea to create a Windows start-up disk. Go to

* Start-Settings-Control Panel-Add/Remove Programs

Here, look for the Start Up Disk tab. Virus protection requires constant vigilance.

A virus scanner requires a list of virus signatures in order to be able to identify viruses. These signatures are stored in a DAT file. DAT files should be updated weekly from the website of your antivirus software manufacturer.

Printers

The action of sending a document to print creates a bigger file, often called a postscript file.

Printers have only a small amount of memory, called a buffer. This can be easily overloaded. Printing a document also uses a considerable amount of CPU power. This will also slow down the computer's performance.

If the printer is trying to print unusual characters, these might not be recognised, and can crash the computer. Sometimes printers will not recover from a crash because of confusion in the buffer. A good way to clear the buffer is to unplug the printer for ten seconds. Booting up from a powerless state, also called a cold boot, will restore the printer's default settings and you may be able to carry on.

Software

A common cause of computer crash is faulty or badly-installed software. Often the problem can be cured by uninstalling the software and then reinstalling it. Use Norton Uninstall or Uninstall Shield to remove an application from your system properly. This will also remove references to the programme in the System Registry and leaves the way clear for a completely fresh copy.

The System Registry can be corrupted by old references to obsolete software that you thought was uninstalled. Use Reg Cleaner to clean up the System Registry and remove obsolete entries.

Read the instructions and use it carefully so you don't do permanent damage to the Registry. If the Registry is damaged you will have to reinstall your operating system.

Often a Windows problem can be resolved by entering Safe Mode. This can be done during start-up. When you see the message "Starting Windows" press F4. This should take you into Safe Mode.

Safe Mode loads a minimum of drivers. It allows you to find and fix problems that prevent Windows from loading properly.

Sometimes installing Windows is difficult because of unsuitable BIOS settings. If you keep getting SUWIN error messages (Windows setup) during the Windows installation, then try entering the BIOS and disabling the CPU internal cache. Try to disable the Level 2 (L2) cache if that doesn't work.

Remember to restore all the BIOS settings back to their former settings following installation.

Overheating

Central processing units (CPUs) are usually equipped with fans to keep them cool. If the fan fails or if the CPU gets old it may start to overheat and generate a particular kind of error called a kernel error. This is a common problem in chips that have been overclocked to operate at higher speeds than they are supposed to.

One remedy is to get a bigger and better fan and install it on top of the CPU.

CPU problems can often be fixed by disabling the CPU internal cache in the BIOS. This will make the machine run more slowly, but it should also be more stable.

Power supply problems

With all the new construction going on around the country the steady supply of electricity has become disrupted. A power surge or spike can crash a computer as easily as a power cut.

If this has become a nuisance for you then consider buying a uninterrupted power supply (UPS). This will give you a clean power supply when there is electricity, and it will give you a few minutes to perform a controlled shutdown in case of a power cut.

It is a good investment if your data are critical, because a power cut will cause any unsaved data to be lost.

GTA V commercial shoot possibly spotted in México

Reddit user marcodj posted a few pictures showing what appears to be a commercial shooting for Grand Theft Auto V over the weekend. The pictures shows a police car and wrecked vehicles along with a GTA V banner in one of the pictures.
In addition to the pictures, marcodj also saw a brief description of the ad -

The guy in the suit of the last photo exits the totaled car while talking to the camera, as he makes his way out, the car explodes and he walks by the car under the trees while some other effects are set behind him (I managed to see these in a monitor) The shooting took place on Saturday April 20th and lasted until late Sunday.

Marcodj mentions that the set was at México City and was specifically told the shooting was for GTA V. This isn't the first time Rockstar has done a live action commercial for the GTA series, as GTA2's trailer was fully live action.

Update - It has been confirmed that this advertisement is being shot for Sony Entertainment, probably for E3.

Some Windows shortcut keys you never knew!

So you think you know all the Windows shortcuts? You might want to check this out then!

Press Ctrl + Esc to open the start menu
If you want to rename any folder, click on it and press F2.
If you want to search any file press F3 or Windows key + F.
If you want to look at the properties of any file, click on the file then press ALT + Enter.
Press Windows key + M to minimize all open Windows and Windows key + Shift + M to maximize all the Windows.
Pressing Alt + Tab takes you to a tab where all the programs open are shown.
If you want to use your keyboard as RMB (Right mouse button) then press Shift + 10.
If you want to permanently delete a file without moving it to the recycle bin press Shift + Delete.
If you want to open all the Windows open one by one press Alt + Esc.
You can close a Window by pressing Ctrl + W.
If you want to look at the properties of a document press Shift + F10.
If you want to look at your systems specifications press Windows key + Pause Break.

Papo & Yo Review

So today, I got my hands on "Papo & Yo". This game was released 2 days ago (18th April) for PC and on 18th August 2012 for Playstation 3.
It is a pretty awesome fantasy adventure game developed by the company Minority. The graphic is pretty good for a less than 2 GB game. YouTube recently added Tape Mode on some videos to celebrate the birth of VHS with static and screen roll.

This new feature is only available on few videos, mostly on low quality videos and videos by YouTube. There's screen noise, distortion, ocassional screen roll.

YouTube has also captured the pause effect when you hit the pause button.

We've seen some cool pranks like YouTube closing down, Google Nose, Gmail Blue and Google+ Emotion this April Fool's and Easter day.
Here are some more easter eggs and pranks from the Google products.

Zerg Rush

This easter egg was created in reference to the infamous strategy game StarCraft.
After you type "zerg rush" in google search box, you will see the red and orange O's from the Google appearing and clearing all the search results and other things or rather, removing them. After all the results and other things are cleared you will see big letters saying "GG" formed with the O's with a share score and clear button. GG refers to GOOD GAME or GOOD GOING.
There have been various record high scores made in this game with one being on Guinness World Records website.

Google Pac-man

This one's a classic. Who didn't liked playing Pac-man on Nintendo? I even play it today.
Google added this doodle on their homepage on the 30th anniversary of Pac-man on May 21, 2010. You can play the game by clicking on "insert coin".
There's also an option for two player mode with Pacman and Ms. Pacman.

YouTube does the Harlem Shake

This one is purely awesome.
After you search "Do the harlem shake" on YouTube, you will see the YouTube logo shaking and a pause button is formed next to it and after sometimes all the thumbnails and other things on the website start shaking.

Search for "do the barrel roll" or "Z or R twice" in the search box and the search result page will rotate 360 degrees.
This is a reference to the Nintendo video game Star Fox 64 for the Nintendo 64 console.

Press CTRL+SHIFT+Y in Picasa and a teddy bear will appear on the screen.
The teddy bear is movable by using the mouse.

On 31st March (a day before 1st April), Google added a new treasure map version of the map of the United States map saying.

Go on Google Translate and search "pv zk bschk" and set "translate from" language to English. The "listen to translation" button will be transformed into "beatbox" button. And you'll hear some good beatboxing.

I used to play this game named "The Lost Crown: A Ghost Hunting Adventure" when I was 10 it used to give me chills at night. After searching for it's disc a lot and a lot this year, I somehow managed to find it! That was a like a great victory because I love gaming especially horror games. Even today I get chills while playing this game. This game is made by Darkling Room. It is filmed in Saxton Town (Polperro, England in real life) and this game was made by a real life ghost hunter Jonathan Boakes, imagine a game made by a real ghost hunter, how scary would it be! It's a scary but side by side it's a hard puzzle game as well, that's the reason a walkthrough for this game is provided on the page of this game's website. It's sequel "The Last Crown: Haunting of Hallowed Isle" arrives later this year.

A new app for Facebook strikes again (but this is an official one!).
We've been seeing too many non-official Facebook apps lately which shows people trying to get the best out of the app from chatting to instagram but Facebook has released the official app for Android which contains everything based on/related to Facebook you require.

Here's a fun video made by the Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook and his staff members.

After watching that documentary on Facebook on History Channel I never thought that Mark Zuckerberg is a fun dude.

But it looks like he's actually quite cool!

Windows cannot open .exe files

Do you get the error saying

"Windows cannot open this file:
File: filename.exe"?
Well, it's because of some damage caused to the Registry Keys of your system.

There are two simple ways to fix it.

1. Get RegClean Pro, scan your PC and it will fix and clean ALL the defected registry keys.
2. Download this file (Default_EXE.reg) and open it. It will automatically add the default exe to the registry.

Touch screen based interface

You could get the full out of Windows 8 only on touch screen devices like tablets but not on non-touch screen devices making it a bad choice for non-touch screen PC and laptop users.

High bandwidth usage

Windows 8 uses a little bit more bandwidth than any other Windows OS.

It uses bandwidth mostly for the apps. Even Windows Media Player uses some more bandwidth!

Not too easy to understand

Windows 8 is actually not very easy to cope up with.

You'll need to search a lot to find something. You'll need to teach your grandparents a lot and maybe even yourself!

The Start Menu

This is the main reason why Windows 8 is hated by many.

They messed up the start menu while they could've earned a lot more without changing the Start Menu and adding some other new features or could've designed the Start Menu is a better manner.

C'mon Microsoft, not everyone uses tablets!
However, you can move back to the old Start Menu by using some softwares. Here's an a post I made yesterday on one of those softwares.

The Music and Video apps are just way too bad!

Who wants to take some time to open a media file with those apps? Ain't nobody got time fo' dat!

I would rather choose Windows Media Player over it.
