PCWizKid has the opportunity to test ride the CPU compared to its earlier Athlon II X2 editions earlier released and reviewed by PCWizkid. Previously when we reviewed the X2 model it proved to be very energy efficient and produced low temperature readings as well as having a lower price than Phenom's and many comparable intel CPU's This quad core model should deliver similar results hopefully. One thing to keep in mind is that this CPU is not a black Edition so its multiplier is capped at x13, however the CPU bus speed can be raised if desired to overclock it. This unlocked black edition has a default core speed of 3.4Ghz with a multiplier at x17 which promises greater overclocking capabilities. Unlike the Phenom II X4 955 version which is a 125Watt CPU this one is 140Watts so keep that in mind if overclocking, it will demand more power and get hotter. Like with all AM3 socket CPU's a major advantage of owning a previous AM2+ board and DDR2 ram gives you the possible option to reusing the same board and memory with this AM3 CPU. You should always check your manufacturers website for the AM2 board to see if it supports the AM3 CPU or if it requires a BIOS update (which in most cases they do need one) for the AM3 CPU to be recognized properly. This can save you hundreds of dollars in having to buy a AM3 board and DDR3. This Core 2 Quad CPU follows the foot steps of its older cousin the Q9400. The funny thing is there are plenty of Intel CPU model's to chose form and primarily for these latest mainstream CPU's its the Level 2 Cache size that makes the difference. These days the 45nm die size is the standard and also a 2.6Ghz to 3Ghz core speed is not uncommon. The factor that usually drives the decision to purchase is the performance vs price. PCWizkid takes a closer look at the performance the Q8400 gives in this video review, putting to the test its capabilities beyond the default 2.66Ghz core speed. The overclocking flexibility gives a CPU an advantage over other models. Hardcore PC Gamers, PC Enthusiasts and the those keen in getting the most bang for the buck will in most cases tweak their systems to squeeze more performance out of it. In the video review PCWizkid will be showing how easy it is to do this with the Q8400 even though the multiplier is locked between 6 and 8.Click here for the full review on PCWizKid's Official Website </itunes:summary><itunes:keywords>windows,vista,xp,osx,ubuntu,leopard,tips,tweaks,hacks,tutorials,howto,powertoys,utilities,video,games,hardware,software,review</itunes:keywords><description>PCWizKid has the opportunity to review one of the latest mainstream processors from Intel, the Q8400. One thing you want to remember is that your smart-phone will use more power than a simple phone due to its large screen display and capabilities which add to the power consumption requirements. Having a extended battery is a must if your using your iPhone 3G to the fullest. Another aspect to remember are scratches. You want to protect your iPhone 3G from unnecessary scratches. Today PCWizKid has the opportunity to review the iConn case and battery from Wellcomm Inc, the model iBP1200. Basically it is a stylish protective case with a battery to give your iPhone 3G both the security and piece of mind that you wont run out of battery on those long trips for example. While iPhone is connected to iConn+, it will be charged at the same time through your laptop or PC simply by connecting it with the mini USB cable. This functionality makes it convenient for users, since they won't have to charge them separately. You can also transmit data and sync your iTunes while it's charging through the laptop or PC using the mini USB cable. iPhone3G will use the iConn+'s battery first, and then use the iPhone's original battery Specifications Visit www.iconnectedyou.com to order the iConn case with battery. Conclusion The iConn+ delivers the extra power to keep your iPhone 3G going and protected with a stylish case. The combination of features and support for the iPhone 3G makes this a great addition to this smart-phone and extends the iPhone battery with less frequent charges. </itunes:summary><itunes:keywords>windows,vista,xp,osx,ubuntu,leopard,tips,tweaks,hacks,tutorials,howto,powertoys,utilities,video,games,hardware,software,review</itunes:keywords><description>PCWizKid is a a big fan of the 3G smart-phones of today. This mid tower follows the footsteps of its big brother the the CM HAF 932 with plenty of room for drives, expansion and cooling galore! PC Gamers going to a LAN party for example would love this case easy to grip handle as well as its security features for peripherals which shows the attention to detail Cooler Master has provided. Most important PCWizKid liked the cable management support and solid construction of this case which makes it a worthy investment since we are always upgrading and changing hardware and this makes it really easy to get into and modify.
