<p><i>Eyewitness to History</i> was a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBS"><font color="#000000">CBS</font></a> Friday night public affairs program which&#160; <br />was initially hosted by veteran broadcaster <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Kuralt"><font color="#000000">Charles Kuralt</font></a> (1960-1961), by&#160; <br /><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Cronkite"><font color="#000000">Walter Cronkite</font></a> (1961-&#8217;62), and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Collingwood_(journalist)"><font color="#000000">Charles Collingwood (1962-1963).        </p>
<p>The program aired from September 30, 1960 through July 26, 1963 and was         <br />sponsored by Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. It concentrated on the         <br />most significant news stories, reviewing the events.&#160; <br /></font></a></p>
<p> The show&#8217;s title was shortened to <i>Eyewitness</i> in 1961 and many local CBS   <br />affiliates adopted the branding &quot;Eyewitness News&quot; for their local newscasts   <br />during the 1960s.

<p>Puppeteer and film director Frank Oz was born Frank Richard Oznowicz     <br />in Hereford, England. He launched his career as a teenager with <a href="http://www.biography.com/people/jim-henson-9335615"><font color="#000000">Jim        <br />Henson</font></a> and the Muppets, and went on to become the performer behind     <br />such characters as Miss Piggy, Grover, and Fozzie Bear. He also played     <br />Yoda in the <i>Star Wars</i> franchise beginning in 1977. Oz has directed     <br />several successful films, including the 1986 musical comedy <em>Little Shop      <br />of Horrors.       <br /></em>    <br />Frank Oz retired full-time from the Muppets in 2002.They are now handled     <br />by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Jacobson"><font color="#000000">Eric Jacobson</font></a> and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Rudman"><font color="#000000">David Rudman</font></a>.
