When you have small children, various rhymes and rhythms are always coursing through your brain. Counting aloud clapping hands, finding the beat to everyday utterances. I lived with a published poet (granted who wrote free verse that was mostly tortured and self-absorbed) for a number of years but never lived in a particularly rich language environment. Oh yeah, and kids promote any add tendencies that are lurking. I actually meant to say I'm writing an entry A DAY at my The Astrological Elements blog. It's about marketing my book (diduknowihaveabook?i do!) and getting the word out. theastrologicalelements.blogspot.com Like this blog isn't enough. I have to microblog now. I put off having a first book a lot longer than I put off having the 1st child. But the first book is a-happening! I am SO proud of this book, it's full of useful advice. When I was rereading the proofs (I wrote it in 2nd trimester w/my daughter) I thought, "wow, that's REALLY interesting" so either I'm an observant astrologer OR completely ADD'd from the offspring. Mars Rxs, like Mercury Rxs actually have some good qualities. Say you don't want to commit to something just yet. Or you feel you need more information to analyze and then make a decision. Rxs give us more time and with Mars hurtling through (and a helpful angle from Jupiter (still in Aquarius) and Saturn in Libra, you may find you're more "probing" than hitherto. Lunar eclipses are NOT fun and since it's a lunar eclipse in Cancer, the Cancer, Aries, Cap and Libra people may have an emotional melt down. Chart who's in your life and what's up then and see how it plays out. I really hate eclipses....

Also, Hallowe'en on a waxing moon on a weekend = CRAZY HELL!!! people will be mischievous and my son, age 6, who has hitherto been an adorable pirate, an adorable giraffe, and very adorable po from teletubbies for hallowe'en wants to be a dementor from harry potter this year. I think this means an easier costume...

has arrived in the mail!!! it's at moonsigns.net, along with the 2010 Moon Almanac. Really great stuff in both. Makes a SWELL Xmas present. And Mr. Dai is a genius mailer/packer (hyped2death.com). He's like the Christo of cardboard in terms of making packages of any size freestyle. Full moon this weekend. Everyone I've talked to in last 2 days has been on the edge. I was campaigning with a friend and we did a quiet residential neighborhood and some guy came to the door with a BERETTA in his hand. Needless to say, a freaky moment. Ryan's been in Baghdad twice but still....

How did it get to be monday already? And almost October. And the first quarter moon week with full moon next weekend!!! Where I live there are holiday/autumn festivals etc. up the WAZOO! which I like but my idea of fun is just....leaves. No cute little critters, no endless jackolanterniana. Next week I have a birthday. I need to buy me a good present. What would I, a fairly textbook Libra like? How do I find out what I like? Is there something I need? Or should I surprise myself.

Other lives happening here. Am at Rollstone Studios, Fitchburg, MA tomorrow doing my hours as a studio artist. The new moon today was a welcome bit of news. But I've dealt with some really difficult folks in past several days (it's blowback from also having a career in public service). But I ask myself. With natal Mars in Cancer, and transiting Mars in Cancer maybe I'm just more likely to be ANNOYED! Yes, and yes, those people were a pa-yane. The most depressing are those who live in a bubble and don't understand the complexities and legalities that go with municipal services. In a 24 hour period I dealt with an idiot with a phD and one without. Generally, I remain pretty even-keeled no matter who comes swimming into my viewfinder but it really was a pile of silliness. So I spent this afternoon campaigning with a friend who's running for a council seat here, a capable young veteran who actually knows how to do follow through and has experience. We look forward to more campaigning. And more new moons.
