Progress bar

It's not as visually informative as the old chart (doesn't tell you which shots are complete and which are in progress, etc.), but this simple progress bar I've added on the sidebar is probably easier to use and understand. It's slightly easier to update, as I only have to change some numbers in the widget, but it's still far from automatic.

Ideally, I'd prefer to just have a page on here with all the shots in a list, with boxes by each one that I could tick, and it would calculate the percentage and other number changes itself. I had tried to accomplish something like that by putting the list in Google Docs and making it publicly accessible for chart usage, but I ran into problems. If anyone knows of a solution along those lines, please pass along that information.

Also, I'm now putting a "completed shots" tag on any announcements of that kind of progress, in addition to the vaguer "progress" tag.

Migration complete

Although the migration of posts to the Blogspot host was quick and easy, it took many hours to restyle the page template to resemble the previous version and add all the new stuff. But here it is, at its new location, http://pldiary.blogspot.com

I'm deprecating the old blog, but leaving a forwarding page there.

I've also gone through a couple of older posts and restored broken links to the screenshots which were located in the now-defunct galleries. See the posts using the new "screenshots" tag.

Also take your pick of tracking systems in the navigation bar, including various aggregators through Feedburner, email notification, and Google's "Friend Connect" thing that I've never tried.

Next thing I need to get up here is a new progress chart, and maybe a video clip or some more screenshots.

Migration and updates

As was mentioned on the main WR news blog, Blogger is shutting down the FTP publishing version of these blogs as of May 1, so this blog is joining the others in migrating to their other system. This will mean a new address and probably improvements with the content posted here.

In addition, the screenshots, video clips, and other material will be henceforth posted on my Deviant Art account and my Youtube account, according to their nature.

In the meantime, I've restored the broken content here, though the posts between now and the time it broke in the first place seem to be missing.

Coming with the changes will be better navigation, searching, and tracking for you readers, and hopefully also a more useful progress meter than the frequently misunderstood chart I've been using here.

Hey, I came back to it. As the graph now shows, Scene 1 is now complete in its entirety, and I have 2 new shots underway simultaneously. A fire was lit underneath me recently and I finally got over that stumbling block.

S01-c02

S01-c02, a rather long shot involving Drink, Pickle, and Misty, is complete, and s01-c03 is next, mainly since it will make a whole scene complete at that point. I would have had a screenshot of the completed shot to show here, but the gallery system I used last time is undergoing another unexpected revision, and I have no idea when it will be back again or what the URL will be. I'm getting tired of having to change my links every time there's a change there.

Stealth update

In answer to some of the more anxious people, a few days ago I quietly added an update to the graph to reflect a new shot that I'm working on. I didn't mention it here because it's not ready to show anything from it yet.

Also, I've created a thread in the forum to enable people to receive e-mail notifications of updates to this diary, rather than needing to check it manually. [Edit: I've put up an RSS subscription link, that should be more convenient.]

The ~~AFAN gallery~~, where the screenshot of the last post was placed, has a few pieces of new art in it as well. When I post a new screenshot of the current shot, I'll move the previous one into a new album in this gallery specifically for screenshots.

After a few long, exhausting, paying projects, I'm resuming work on this one. Sorry again to those who wondered what was going on.

Incidentally, one of the three animation projects is available for viewing online. It's the shortest and simplest of the three, another Drowtales animation (not the same as the birthday animation).

As mentioned on the White Radish site, as that was the first to recover, my domain registrar had some big screwup and left me without my domains for 3 days. During that time, I tried to fix this one sooner by switching nameservers, and that just extended the problem longer.

Decided to make a little 4-page comic to replace the page of text under "Story overview" on the site. Page 1 is now online! It's in Flash, but so is the rest of the site.

The Pink Lemonade Valentine's Day card is online (and I still haven't officially put up the puzzle yet. ^^;) Watch it here, or here on Newgrounds. In fact, I'd rather you view it on Newgrounds, since it'll ease the load on my server, and you'll have the opportunity to rate it or leave a review for it. Please do rate fairly.

Finished s01-c07 and s01-c08 today. A couple of days ago, I also finished the animation for the second character of the Drowtales fighting game. Yesterday I put the finishing touches on a Pickle puzzle game for this site (soon to be uploaded), and did a little work on a Pink Lemonade animated valentine (not done yet), to go along with the Cutethulhu valentine.

s05-c17a is done, except for background. In the meantime, I've also been working on some paying work, namely animation for a chibi fighting game at drowtales.com. It's going pretty fast. I have half of the moves done for the first character.
