It's no secret that this site has been a little neglected in recent months. However, the site will be receiving a complete overhaul before the end of the year. I already know that the site's blog will get about a million times better and the design will be completely new, but I'd love to hear what other features you'd like to stay or what new features you'd like to see added.

Opening Day Crowds

Judging by the webcams and various reports, it appears that Planet Snoopy and Cedar Point's 100's of other attractions and kiosks have brought in enormous crowds for the opening day of the 2008 season. Want to see for yourself? Take a look at how many cars are in the parking lot this afternoon.

Signs of Spring

All around Cedar Point, it's beginning to look a lot like springtime. Millennium Force and numerous other roller-coasters have received their trains and Skyscraper is growing closer to the scraping the sky. In addition, I happened to catch another sign of spring at the peninsula today... creepy cloud formations.

Last Tuesday's April Fools post brought in quite a few new readers to the site... So welcome, new readers!

I've received a bit of feedback on the Phantom's Fury post and it seems as though it was well-received. Hopefully, this next item is too.

2008 Countdown
Click here to see our shiny new countdown timer to the 2008 season. It's pretty dang accurate (to the second) with one exception. If you leave the page open for a long time, the time gets a little skewed since the time is only precisely calculated when the page loads. I recommend bookmarking the page or making it your new homepage until the park opens.

It's no secret that there is already at least one very popular forum devoted to Cedar Point. Jeff and Walt of PointBuzz have made a great site over the years, but we at POINTOLIA can't help but wonder if there are more fish in the sea.

Planet Snoopy Construction Update: Camera Coverage

Camera Coverage

Since there isn't much actually happening at the construction site yet (as far as we can tell), we've decided to show people what areas we can actually see from Cedar Point's webcam. The picture on the right shows the approximate location of the camera in relation to the construction site.

It shouldn't be long before we see more action at the site. As always, feel free to drop us a line in the comments.

The 'Heartline' Concept

As this is the first post in a great while, I thought I'd make it delightfully simple...

Plenty of roller coasters feature elements known as heartline rolls. This element distinguishes itself from other rolls like corkscrews and barrel rolls by rotating around the center of the rider's chest. The anatomy students among you will recall that this is the location of the heart.
