Oh I can thoroughly relate and agree to this. I turn off my e-mail client once I get most of my work done and don't open it before the next morning. I want to be totally out of the work world in the few hours of leisure time I get in the evening after dinner.

I'm glad there are still blogs that share the love, as some would call it, I love reading through and getting new insights, and I may not always have a lot to say, but like to leave a comment so the authors know they had someone read what they took the time to write.

I don't think print is out, just for the main reason that companies will always have things to hand out like brochures and such. While those things can and probably will be digitized sooner or later, more people need to have the same tech readily available. There are still people out there that are not connected to the net or own a computer, so for now I think its safe.

From a quick glance at RRD, I see some interesting developments that happened in 2011 for them. The company acquired several different "digital" companies in 2011 that have a substantial online presence -- www.nimblefish.com, www.libredigital.com, www.8touches.com, and www.helium.com. A company like RRD that is able to bridge across from traditional print into the digital world may actually survive the decline of the print industry.

This is definitely an important topic. I too was upset by Kodak's bankruptcy but not entirely surprised either as their prime area of expertise was photo prints and that is getting phased out faster and faster as everyone has a digital camera nowadays. I also find myself reading the online editions of most of my favorite publications. I think print media may still survive in the future but in a very limited capacity, as there will be those areas where print media will still be viable due to the slower proliferation of technology.
