I have thought about this for some time now - and I have come to the decision to step down as the coordinator for the PSP Community Blog Hop. With all that I have been through this year with my family and my father's passing - my heart just is not in it any longer. I am thinking of switching careers all together and going in a totally different creative route ... but that decision has yet to be made.

If you would be interested in taking over the PSP Blog Hop 2012 (including taking ownership of the blog and the Facebook Fan Page) please contact me and I'll get the details to you.

PSP Blog Hop 2012 - UPDATED INFO!

Hello Blog Hop lovers! We have some updated information to share with you about the 2012 PSP Blog Hop, so read up and find out the latest and start planning what awesome goodies you are going to share with the PSP community this fall!

Due to some personal family issues, the spring/summer blog hop is going to be combined with the Holiday Hop this year. So set your calendars to win some awesome prizes this fall just in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas that will have your creative juices in overdrive!

Event Information

Start - Monday, October 15, 2012 at 8:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time

End - Friday, October 19, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time

Winners will be announced on the blog on Saturday, October 20th and will have until Wednesday, October 24th to request their download link for their prize package.

This year we have a Link Up! section for both contributors and sponsors! If you plan on participating or contributing during this year's event - please go to our LINK UP! page and add your blog, your web site, your Pinterest page and/or your Facebook Fan page - add as many as you want! Let others come by and discover you and the awesomeness that is YOU! Add your information today and get some free advertisement for your site(s) for the entire year!

We tested out two different giveaway programs - Rafflecopter and PunchTab - and this year we will be using the PunchTab giveaway program. Each prize contribution will have its own widget to enter - so you only need to enter the prize giveaway that you wish to win, or you can enter all of them to increase your chances of winning. At the end of the event, one winner will be randomly selected. The added benefit of using PunchTab is that you will be able to earn rewards each time you visit the site, in addition to earning badges as well for liking us or tweeting about the PSP Blog Hop each day.

Contributors

All Blog Hop 2012 prize contributions must be uploaded to the contributors folder on Box.com prior to the Blog Hop beginning. The only exception to this will be tubes or gift certificates or custom-made items contributed from a licensing agency, independent artist store or scrap kit store. If you have any questions or concerns - please use the CONTACT US form or, better still - join our contributors Yahoo Group HERE.

You can add your prize contribution for the 2012 Blog Hop at any time between now and September 30, 2012 by clicking HERE and entering the information requested. Don't forget - Gold Contributors (anyone offering a prize package valued at over $60.00 US Dollars) will receive their banner ad (125x125) placed on our Gold Contributors page as they are received (we are in the process of updating some things on the site so be patient - they will be posted shortly for those of you who have already submitted your prizes).

All Blog Hop prize contributions must be awarded within seven (7) days of the event conclusion. The only exception will be for custom-made items - and these items should be completed and delivered no later than sixty (60) days from the event conclusion at most. A deadline must accompany all custom-made items offered so that the winning recipient knows when to expect receipt of their prize.

Contributors are required to be a part of our Yahoo Group (or have a representative be a part of the Yahoo Group on their behalf) to receive all updates and behind-the-scenes information and to help you with coordinating the event and answer any questions that you may have. Please feel free to go daily digest or no mail during 'down times' between blog hops, but we would appreciate you being on regular mail during the two months prior to the hop when everything is being organized in the event there are questions or concerns that need to be addressed.

Welcome to the PSP Blog Hop 2012! A few things have changed this year – so please be sure to read ALL of the information below so you know how to participate/contribute during this year's event!

EVENT INFORMATION

Information About the PSP Blog Hop 2012

I'm afraid to say that I am having second thoughts about hosting a 2nd Annual PSP Blog Hop this year in May. Issues with prizes not being awarded and disgruntled winners, real life just "happens" sometimes and unforeseen things occur - and I just do not like being on the receiving end of the negativity and ungrateful attitudes. I am a "happy humans" type of person and always wish nothing but happiness for the people that do participate in these events.

Our prize contributors do so out of the kindness of their hearts – to give back to those of you that have made purchases from them all year long, to give those of you who are not familiar with their work an opportunity to learn more about them – and the majority of the contributors sign up for these events months in advance with every intention of being able to award their prize contributions to the winners. However, real life (as we all know) has a way of interfering with the best of intentions, and sometimes things just happen that are beyond our control. The contributors receive nothing in return except exposure on our blog and Facebook fan page for their contributions.

So I am faced with the dilemma of whether or not to actually host the Blog Hop this year or to forgo the effort and time and sheer dedication to nothing else but the organization of the hop for the next two months or determine if it is really appreciated at all, what the prize contributors do to help make each hop a success, not to mention the time and dedication they put into creating their special prize contributions and the time and dedication of every member of the staff that assists in making it a success.

I would love your input and feedback on the subject.

Helping Mr. Elric and Friends

Known to the PSP Community as “Storm” and “Shadow” – these two absolutely wonderful individuals have taken it amongst themselves to begin a non-profit organization with other parents to provide awareness, public education, and support for families of ALL children with catastrophic illnesses.

Be it Cancer (as their son Elric has) or Pompeii Disease (as a young girl they have met has) – ANY pediatric / childhood disease that can be listed as catastrophic and requires major life changes that puts a strain on the family – Helping Mr. Elric and Friends is going to be there to help in any manner that they can. These families face hardships that many can never truly understand. Families of children with catastrophic illnesses often have trouble obtaining even the simplest of basic necessities – like groceries, toiletries, even regular every-day bills. Fuel and reliable transportation are MUST HAVE needs for these families due to the amount of travel required for their regular medical appointments in addition to appointments with specialists. Even the least life-changing illness can amount to an extraordinary amount of time on the road and fuel used to travel back and forth to doctors, specialists, and work quickly puts a severe strain on these families finances.

In addition, Helping Mr. Elric & Friends is currently seeking other families with children that have catastrophic illnesses to be part of a “panel” of sorts – to talk to newly diagnosed families, parents, patients, and siblings!

They are currently accepting monetary donations or gift card donations for places such as Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart, book stores, nationwide fuel gift cards (for places like Exxon, BP, Shell, etc.), grocery store gift cards, Visa or Mastercard gift cards – you get the idea. They prefer to receive donations in the form of gift cards (as most gift cards do not have an expiration date they are the preferred method) until the organization can be fully established, but they will also accept monetary donations.
