This is the issue which I was facing since few days. While browsing through Firefox 3, a pop up of MSN COnnector will come up, and it will hang Firefox until you cancel that pop up.

I didnt find an exact solution yet, but if you delete the MSN entry from the Network Connections that should help.

Here comes the latest product from google called chrome to give competition to Microsoft and Mozilla. Although its a beta release but I am much impressed, it has a kind of clean look, comparatively seems faster than IE7 and firefox3, does not have the memory issue like firefox which takes a lot of RAM space.

Another interesting is the incognito window, which as per google:

You’ve gone incognito. Pages you view in this window won’t appear in your browser history or search history, and they won’t leave other traces, like cookies, on your computer after you close the incognito window. Any files you download or bookmarks you create will be preserved, however.

Going incognito doesn’t affect the behavior of other people, servers, or software. Be wary of:

• Websites that collect or share information about you
• Internet service providers or employers that track the pages you visit
• Malicious software that tracks your keystrokes in exchange for free smileys
• Surveillance by secret agents
• People standing behind you

Google has released a comic explaining all the features. I guess this will be better than both other two browser. A lot to explore.

Chrome is also an open source application like the firefox, let us see if we will get the cool add ons as in Firefox (which I think is best part of Firefox).

Also IE8 is also in beta. Google usually come up with some innovation so I am sure it will rock. Hope they quickly come up with Android. And when will be the day when Google starts developing a new OS.

I am the new addict of this great program called Prison Break. Each and every thing in it is just great and it will make you glued to the screen. Even the background music keeps running in my mind.

Although only second season is running on Star World, thanks to my friend I have seen up to third season. And eagerly waiting for the fourth season.

And the good news is tomorrow i.e 1st September is day when fourth season starts. And I have got to know that Sara is coming back, (I knew she wasn’t dead).

First of I would like to say that, here I am sharing my experience, and if anything goes wrong do not blame me!

And this post is to say a many thanks to Akshayy, whose tutorial has helped me to make my Sony Ericsson K550i Cybershot to W610i Walkman mobile. Now my mobile is Cybershot-Walkman mobile, which has the walkman capabilities and supports Flash. Just checkout youtube you may find a lot of videos where people are showing off their cool K550i@W610i mobile.

I did do the flashing long ago, following Akshay’s Tutorial in ThinkDigit, when I found that a lot can be done on my phone, I can change the acoustic drivers, the camera drivers, etc. But at that time I was able to flash the main firmware but flashing FS provided in thinkdigit gave me problem. The terms I am putting here can only be understood if you go through the tutorial.

Anyways this time I was successfull, I have updated my mobile with W610i Firmware and FS. My mobile has some cool Flash Menus, Flash Wallpapers and Walkman capabilities. Check out Akshayy’s site, I guess you will get anything related to flashing.

Note: One thing you will lose by flashing K550i to W610i, all the data, application and games will get deleted, so backup your phone, also camera won’t start when you open the shutter, however it starts from the phone menu. Also your warrenty may become void if you change the firmware.

I do like Vista mainly for its look and feel, but on my P4 machine, it is somewhat slow, and while browsing I found an application called WindowsBlind which is capable of changing the existing XP look. I used it for some days until I found Bricopacks, this has completely transformed my desktop, which I feel is better than Vista’s look and feel. I have installed Vista Inpirat 2, and it looks great, RocketDock which gets installed is what I like the most. You may try browsing through the crystalxp.net site and may find a lot of interesting stuffs, like application to change your Driver Icon as it is in Vista, ObjectDock etc etc. It is not that hard on your system resources and uses the minimum Processor time and memory. Try it, you will like it for sure, and guess what it is free. Check out my desktop.

My Windows XP desktop

Google has released Google Maps long ago, but now it has improved a lot. Like gmail application for mobiles it is also a great application. You may download directly from your mobile by going to http://m.google.com/maps .

However for my city (Hyderabad, India) in Google Maps it gives your location within 1700m, you can get even the directions and the traffic conditions.

Google Maps is free but download charges from your operator may increase a lot.

It has been around 2 to 3 months since I have this digicam, but could not write much as I didn’t check all the features of the camera. Still I need to explore all the features, but I guess now I am in a position to write few lines here.

Nikon P80

Now on how I got to this cam, I can say for everything there are three categories, lower level, middle level and the higher level. in Digital cameras, there are those small, stylist and handy digi cams, the somewhat bulky but having more features prosumer (semi Professional) cams and those performance cams called the D SLRs. Anyway the first category of cams were out of the picture as I don’t like those personally, now in between prosumer and D SLRs, I thought SLRs might be too techy anyway they are costlier also, so I decided that if I am going to take a cam then that would be prosumer one. The inclination to prosumer cam was also because two of my very good friends have the same type of cam (Sony Cybershot H7).

So I was looking for an opportunity to buy  a cam, the moment came when I got to know that one of my friend is coming from US, so I started a hunt for the prosumer cams in all those online shops like tigerdirect, bestbuy. circuitcity and some other sites, in the meanwhile I got to know a great site called PriceGrabber, this one gives you the rating, the lowest price in any of the online shops in US and lots of other info.

Then I shortlisted 2 cams which I liked the most, the new Sony Cybershot H50 and Nikon P80, both are  quite new in the market. Both are great cams, only thing I went for P80 is because of more resolution(9.1-10.1) and more Optical zoom(15x-18x). However these are not huge differences. And Sony one gives a remote control.

Both have almost every thing a digi cam should have and also lot of mannual controls, having both more optical zoom and more resolution gives us good picture if we use digital zoom, I mean we can go beyond the 18x optical zoom without much issues with the pic. All the accessories required are there and I bought a carry case and 4 GB memory card which is more than enough.

This is the issue I was facing for quite some time, and issue was browser independent, I mean for any browser like IE 7, Firefox 3 or Opera, I was facing the same issue. The Orkut Login page used to come, but after that it was loading and loading and loading….

Finally I found the solution, and the culprit was Yahoo Messenger. And the issue mainly comes to Airtel Broadband I guess (Later part I am not sure of). Just you need to follow these steps:

1. Open Yahoo messenger.

2. Go to Preferences>>Connection.

3. Select “Firewall with no Proxies” and Apply.

4. In IE or Firefox clear all the cookies and private data.

And aaaaila you are done.

HANCOCK….this is the film I saw today, and was different from the usual super hero story.

Will Smith who is playing John Hancock is having Super Powers and initially not liked by people as he does more damages then saving people life. Quite an interesting film with a nice concept. Charlize Theron is also there, rather than saying anything more I would suggest go watch it.

This movie was an experience in other way also, first the booking was done from my mobile using the mobile application of bookmyshow.com and paying through mobile, one will get an SMS stating the booking number, even you can select you seat also, just you have to provide the booking number at the counter. Also it was my first movie in newly opened ADLABS Gold Spot above the Big Bazaar in Ameerpet (of course Hyderabad). It has 4 screens and seats are quite comfortable. Phew am I going tooo techy

Coming to the movie, I would give 3.5/5.

I was very much annoyed of the User Account Control (UAC) pop up that comes whenever you want to install a software, or do some activity on your Vista Machine. After lot of research I fond the solution to disable it at least for the Administrator of the Vista machine.

To disable the UAC first type secpol.msc in the “START search text box”

You will get the Local Security Policy Window, here go to Local Policies>>Security Options in the left Pane,

then double click the “User Account Control: Behavior of the elevation prompt for administrators in Admin Approval Mode” from the right Pane, and select the Elevate without prompting option in the drop down. Click Apply and OK. And you are free of those annoying pop ups.
