Katie's Blog: Mission Accomplished

Hello everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying the most dreaded week of the entire year. It is time to start packing and moving on with our lives. For some that means going home for the summer to work, others are going to spend it at the beach. The Seniors are graduating, and starting a whole new journey. Freshman will no longer be the "new guys". It is has been such a fast year, and we have come so far. We have met new people, and gained a lot of friendships. We have such great student leaders on this campus, it will be so exciting to see who the pacesetters help bring into the school. I hope that everyone has a relaxing summer filled with tons of fun and excitement. I am so ready for this summer. I am moving back to Columbia in June, and I will be moving to Texas later in the summer. Whoo hoo! God is AWESOME!

I wish safe travels and blessings to you all.

Ken's Blog: Time Winding Down!!!

Well everybody it's that time of the year again, the dreaded exam time. This is the time where students have a bitter-sweet taste in their mouths, because on one hand we are almost out for the summer and on the other hand we have these "cumulative exams".I hope everyone does a great job on all of their exams and achieve those grades they have been working so hard for all semester. This is also the time when we bid farewell to all of our graduating seniors, and I pray that everyone succeeds in their professional careers.
One good thing for me to look forward to is that I will be studying abroad this summer in Germany with the USCA school of Nursing. I am really excited and will be leaving in about two weeks. Well, I hope everyone has a great summer, and I will see you next semester, so until then everyone stay safe and stay out of trouble.

Katie's Blog: Spring in is the air-

Hello USCA!!!

Beautiful weather, last week of classes, how can this month get any better!??!?! Oh, yeah...EXAMS! I hope every is ready to finish the semester strong. I have been super busy with work and keeping up with classes. I feel as if my head is spinning. My last statistics exam is tomorrow morning. Then I am finished till exam week.

On the flip side of things, my best friend is graduating from Parris Island this weekend, and I have another friend returning from Iraq. Talk about joy and pride. And on top of welcoming home some of the people closest to me, I am going to process at Fort Jackson this weekend. Lets just say this weekend is going to be full of adventures. :]

"And so, my fellow americans: ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man. " John F. Kennedy

Ken's Blog: Coming Down the Home Stretch!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen...Boys and Girls...Children of ALL of Ages...the end of the semester is about a month away and I CAN NOT wait. Everything is beginning to speed up because the semester is almost over, so that means getting these last few test out of the way, completing these last minute projects, writing these papers, and getting ready for these dreadful exams. Everyone seems to be on edge just a little bit more around this time of year because it means that we are about to get a 4 month break (some of us anyway) from the worries of school. However I fall into the catergory of students that dont get the entire 4 month break, because I will be taking a few summer school classes during Maymester and Summer I. But it won't be all bad, because one of those classes is a study abroad program where I will be leaving to go to the beautiful country of Germany for 2 weeks, and this is something that I am really looking forward to. We will be experiencing many of the things that make Germany so unique such as visiting cities such as Munich and Sternberg. We will also have the chance to visit a few tourist attractions such as castles and the concentration camps that Adolf Hitler used during his time in Germany. Hopefully I will have a great time and I will try to take plenty of pictures and post them on my blogs...so until next time everyone be safe and stay out of trouble.

Katie's Blog: Don't Stop.

Hello All,

There is only 24 days left of school.(YES, I am counting) I know everyone is excited. So make sure you finish out these last couple tests and papers. I promise it will be here before we know it. Yay!

I have been super busy with school, and work. This pollen is driving me crazy! Just today I went into the parking lot, the whole lot was YELLOW not black but yellow. Yuck. THANK GOODNESS for the rain! To wash all the yellow away. This weekend is Pacers and Polo, I am so excited to be working it along with the rest of the Pickens-Salley Staff. They work so hard and the final product is always memorable and amazing. I am so proud to work with such talented co-workers!

On a different note, I can't wait till the semester is over. Ah, it is my last semester in Aiken! I am enjoying every moment of it. I absolutely love it here, the people you meet will remain in your heart forever! I can't believe the oppurtunities that I have been so fortunate to be part of.

Ken's Blog: Time to Catch Up!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen, how have you been? Its been a long time since I have talked to you guys but I am happy to be able to communicate with you once again. Things have been moving pretty fast within the last 4 weeks for me. I have been doing a lot of studying and have been transitioning into a new job as a Mental Health Technician at Aiken Regional Hospitals psychiatric facility (Aurora Pavilion). I decided to take on this new venture for a couple of different reasons; the first of which being that this job helps to indulge myself further into my major, and to allow me to activily apply what I have been learning in the classroom to what I will be doing upon graduation. Another reason that I accepted this position is because we are in a struggling economy and this job simply pays more (LOL). But all in all everything has been going very well for me, and as a matter of fact I am in the middle of studying for a test right now. Remember leave me you comments because I love reading them and knowing what you guys and girls have to say. So, until next time yall be safe and stay out trouble.

But hey all great things must come to an end and I've really filled my schedule wit many enjoyable things to keep me occupied. Check back for updates and see how this 2nd part of semester runs its course. PEACE, LOVE, and ROCK $ ROLL BABY!!!

Katie's Blog: Guardian Angels

Hey! I had a thought today. Have you ever looked back and realized that you had a person in your life that has always been there for you? I hope you do, I think mostly everyone has that one person and never realizes it. When you find the time, I encourage you to go up to them and personally thank them. Hope everyone had a great week, and enjoyed cramming for midterms!!

Katie's Blog: Achieve.

Hello!

So excited Spring Break is in 7 days....that also means midterms!!! Don't get all caught up in Spring Break and let these grades slip. You will regret it later. I am doing the same ol' thing, keeping busy and just enjoying life. I am currently making plans for the summer, seeing what God has in store for me. Its crazy thinking about making plans for after this semester but after Spring Break it is all down hill from there and is just a matter of surviving finals and we are hasta la vista!! As spring arrives it is time to get out and enjoy Aiken. Go out to Odell weeks, you can enjoy the sunshine and everything it has to offer. Here is a quote to inspire your day! :)

"You have to recognize when the right place and the right time fuse and take advantage of that opportunity. There are plenty of opportunities out there. You can't sit back and wait."
