Grant High School lost one of its most promising students, Diana Moreno, at the beginning of the 2009 - 2010 school year. Diana was a member of the “0” period tutoring class and Champions from the beginning and those of us who worked with her marveled at her drive and enthusiasm for learning. She was an excellent student, a key player on the girl’s basketball team, and a real inspiration to all who knew her. Her dream was to graduate from UCLA someday and if her life had not been tragically cut short, there is no doubt that she would have achieved her dream.

Even though Diana will never realize her dream, we have an opportunity to help other students reach their dreams in her name. UCLA PACT and Grant High School have established the Diana Moreno Scholarship Fund to be awarded to former ESL student(s) graduating this year. There are several worthy candidates and the contributions will enable us the opportunity to honor more students.

We are asking for contributions to help with this very worthy cause. Any amount would be most welcomed and deeply appreciated.
