226: Caesar Salad

Okay, pardon the recipe's name. Of course without croutons, this is not the real caesar salad ..but something alike I would say, with a little bit of improvising and with extra 2 pcs of simple fried chicken.

When we went to my parents in law home last weekend, mom had given us these fresh veggies from Cameron. Look at that beautiful green lettuce and perfect red cherry tomatoes.There were so crunchy to every bite inside my mouth..loving it!

Servings: Two pax

Ingredients:

a) For chicken:

4 pcs chicken

turmeric powder & salt

b) For Salad:

2 small heads of fresh lettuce

Fresh cherry tomatoes

3 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil

1 slice of Kraft Single Cheese

3 tablespoon Mayonis

2 teaspoon vinegar

3 teaspoon parmesan cheese powder

1 teaspoon chopped oregano leaves

Instructions:
1. Clean chicken and cover with salt and turmeric powder. Marinate for 10 minutes. Deep fried with small fire until it turn to golden brown.

2. Wash lettuce and cut them into small pieces.

3. In a salad bowl, add in the tomatoes and olive oil.

4. Fine chop the cheese slice and sprinkle on the salad.

5. For the dressing, mix well the mayonis, vinegar, parmesan cheese and oregano leaves.

225: The kick off..

It's Wednesday..the day of the week again. I mean, it's futsal time for Ezal and 'me' time for myself in our cozy little crib. Phew~ I had dinner with Ezal at 8.30pm and still feeling bloated at this hour. Really, I think this is the consequence of drinking too much freezing cold water immediately right after meal just now..hiuhiu.

Well, it was a long weekend. But that's it. We have already had our Chinese New Year long holiday. To continue the list ...Hari Wilayah, Maulidur Rasul & Thaipusam break. So, the next coming public holiday is Labour Day in May. Wow, that seems quite a long journey to reach May. Speaking of May..it reminds me of my EDD..dup dup dup dup (heart beating fast)

With so many public holidays, me and Ezal, we decided not to spend it off outside town but we think it's a good time to start looking for our baby's needs. That's how we ended up spending our holidays at shopping malls, and to name one is IKEA.

One of the main reason was to looking for a multiple drawer chest/ wardrobe to store all my little one clothes, mitten, booties, his wipes, towel, diapers, blankets, creams & lotions etc..and of course with this gift card in hand, to IKEA we went ;)

Just to add few additional info. If you purchase big stuff from IKEA and would like them to deliver to your house, they'll charge you at RM60 per trip. The goods will be sent to your place within 3 days. But say like in our case, with only two of us staying in our home, delivery during office hours is not possible since nobody will be around to attend them. The difficult part is weekend delivery is not available..and if you hold your purchased items in their store more than 3 days, IKEA will charge you another RM20 per day. To me, that's the downside of their service..

After an exciting tour in IKEA, we fed our appetite at Marche, The Curve. Here goes the pictures.. I'm starting to doze off..so yeah, till next time. Tomorrow I have an early check-up appointment for my MGTT ;)

Dear readers, I am sharing the very first guest post in my blog. Hope you'll find this post is informative as I did, especially to all the mommies to be!!

If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, there are many tests that can be run. There are also many diagnostic imaging techniques that you may be subjected to. With so much at stake, we thought now would be a good time to go over the various kinds of diagnostic imaging and what pregnant women should know about them. If you feel you need one of these imaging tests done or have a doctor recommend one to you, be sure and discuss further before going ahead.

1. Ultrasound

This is the most common method used when using imaging on pregnant women. There is no need to inject anything and no use of radiation. Ultrasound rays work by projecting sound waves and relaying the images in real time on screen. Ultrasound is also one of the most cost effective ways to produce a diagnostic image, and for these reasons, it is the most common of pregnancy imaging.

2. X-rays

Because there is radiation involved in this process, pregnant women normally do not get x-rays. However, the need can arise, such as if the mother sustains a broken bone or other serious injury. They even make a special lead apron that is designed to be worn over pregnant bellies to protect from radiation.

3. CT Scan

If the mother suffers from another disease or has serious health problems that cannot be found with an ultrasound, a computed tomography scan, or CT scan, can be ordered. These machines use far less radiation than x-ray imagery. However, there is the use of an iodinated contrast that is given intravenously.

4. MRI

Magnetic resonance imaging is also another choice in imaging for pregnant mothers who have need of imaging beyond ultrasound. It is generally considered safer than a CT scan because it does not use iodinated contrast. However, it is important to notify all medical personnel of your pregnancy before doing one.

5. Nuclear imaging

This type of imaging involves short living radionuclides which are later captured by imaging. There can be a danger to exposing a fetus to this radiation, and there must be a justification by both doctor and patient before doing so.

223: Stuffed Baked Potato With Cheese

This is a long delayed entry. In fact, I forgot that I have this one put in my draft more than a month. And since today I am haaarrdd..ly working :p, lets finish up this write-up!

Here's another simple recipe for your lazy-to-cook day :p

Servings: Two pax

Ingredients:
3 large potatoes cut into half
2 tablespoon olive oil
2 shallots (minced)
1 clove garlic (crushed & minced)
ground beef
2 tablespoon tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon chili sauce
1 teaspoon light soy sauce
2 tomatoes (diced)
salt & black pepper
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon chopped coriander leaves
broccoli
mozarella cheese (grated)/ cheddar cheese

Instructions:
1. Scrub potatoes to clean, as the skin may be eaten (some people like it).
2. Pierce potatoes with a fork. and put them into a paper bag (avoiding it to become very dry
in the microwave oven).
3. Set the microwave at 450W and cook for 10 minutes or until done.
4. Meanwhile, heat up the pan with olive oil, add shallots and garlic. Stir to golden colour. Add in ground beef, tomato ketchup, chili sauce, soy sauce, diced tomatoes, black pepper, nutmeg and coriander leaves.
5. Sprinkle with salt, stir fry until cooked and leave aside.
6. Put the done potatoes onto a kitchen towel and roll them on your counter top to soften for easier spoon out. (Just like the way of rolling lemons before slicing it to break down some of the fiber and juice.) Cut the potatoes into half and scoop out the centre to allow stuffing.
7. Mix mashed potato and the meat together (This will make the stuffing)
8. Fill the potato with the the mixture and complete it with broccoli. Finally, top them up with grated mozarella cheese.
9. Heat in the microwave oven at 300W for another 1 minute or just long enough to melt the cheese.

222: Mothercare, KLCC

I am on my 22 weeks now. As the number of weeks increased, my number of wearable pants decreased. Haih~ I was so in need of buying at least a pair of new pants or else I'll keep rotating with limited nos. of pants: my low cut Levi's jeans, my high waist Seed's pleated pants, my blue Courtyard palazzo pants, the beige Elle pants, and the only maternity black Scarlet pants which I bought few months back but still a bit loose on me. So, how many of that alltogether? 5 nos. Just enough for a week wear to office. Don't mention Baju kurung. All of them already 'shrink' (only) at the waist part..hheee, except for one kebaya which the sarong is quite low waist :p.

Without a clear plan in mind last Saturday, we headed to KLCC to have a coffee time at San Fran. Coffee. Before that, we visited the refurbished Isetan, which I was lost at the first place when I couldn't find Sun Moulin Bakery at it's usual place, Level 3. Hoho, it (supermarket and bakery) has been transferred to the lowest ground indeed. That means, Isetan now occupied every floor from the Concourse level up towards the 4th floor.

After the 'extreme mocha' moment, we went around and found Mothercare at the extended wing (Ramlee Mall side). If I'm not mistaken, previously it was located at Ampang Mall wing, just next to Watson. The good thing is, the new shop is waaayyyy bigger than the previous lot and some stuff are on sale up to 50% !!

Oo btw...I started shopping for my baby since the past few weeks...errr, ok, frankly the past few months ;) The first romper suit was bought when I don't even know my baby's gender yet..I was too excited, who doesn't? :p.

Here are some of the stuff that I bought from Mothercare and some are bought online from Kidz Appear Shoppe. For myself, I bought a pair of maternity jeans with a removable waist band which can be removed later after pregnancy. It's very comfortable and the jersey band felt really soft on my stomach.. that it doesn't grip too much and it feel just great!!

Finally, as we made our way out from the extended new wing.. I just stopped by at this very cute set up outside Charlie Brown Cafe..don't you love the decoration too? ;)

We went for a scan on 11th January and this is what Dr. Zahuri said. "...yang ni alat sulit baby. So, your baby is a boy" Haha, so cute..and the tiny protruding thing that the doctor pointed on the screen was obviously the same like on the left picture above :)

220: O'Briens..

It was just another ordinary evening on a lazy Saturday. Since I am getting heavy with this pregnancy, I prefer to spend much time at home, sleeping ..haha~

But nothing could stop you from going out when it comes to feeding your groaning stomach. It was a lazy Saturday, remember? And since we are going to attend a friend's wedding at Kampung Pengantin at night, I didn't make any effort to cook the whole day.

So, to the Loaf we went for our late lunch! From a friend's tweet, I read about The Loaf another outlet opening in Great Eastern Mall. The fact that Ezal has never ever been to GE Mall..(rolling eyes), we decided to go there instead of Pavilion.

Here it is..

This is the hearty meal for the 'broken heart' (pls keep on reading): Tuna Swiss Melt (Left) , Smoked Salmon & Cream Cheese (Right).

Haha..okay, that's obviously not the Loaf's stuff. I know..Apparently, the Loaf in GE Mall is quite small, which means the variety of buns and pastries are lesser than in Pavi. I was so upset that I couldn't find my all-time-fav tuna puff on the shelves..T_____T' (Heart breaking)

Psst..I have a confession. This is my first time eating O'Briens. Somehow, I prefer Subway much much much much much more than Oh~ Briens..Ohhh

But I don't mind to share their delivery no. just in case you might feel super lazy to go out, you can simply call this no. and they can deliver their food straight to your front door. O'Briens delivery: 1300-30-3000.

218: Week 20

Like most others are doing, I am also taking this shot to make a new year wishes.

To some, year 2012 would be a turning point, which certainly will change our life with many things, in many ways. To us, being a new parent would be the biggest thing this year with the arrival of our little precious soon in May. Ohh, speaking of that, I could not imagine what and how the feeling might be.

This Saturday, my pregnancy is going to turn to 20th week. Yes, I've hit the halfway mark throughout this journey!

To be honest, I'd start worrying on things like what am I going to go through in the labor room, imagining the pain that people always talking about, where am I going to stay during confinement, how am I going to take care of my baby when I'm left alone with him/her..owhh, those kind of thought will linger in my head for another 5 months.

(Sigh~)Women, our thinking is complicated as that.

By the way, I had this amazing feeling that I wanted to share with. Last night, I could feel my baby moving actively, first time ever! Even Ezal could feel it when he put his palm on my lower tummy. I was so over the moon, feeling blessed to realize that all these while for the past five months, I had this cute little angel, none other than my own flesh and blood inside my womb.

Oopss, my baby is moving again. Maybe he knows that I'm talking about him ;)

Till then, let's embrace days ahead with love and gratitude.

217: Ben's at Publika, Solaris

Initially, we were in search of Duduk Cafe in Publika, Solaris Dutamas when we finally end up having our lunch at Ben's (which I think is a far way better choice).

This is the first time I've been inside the Publika. For the first timer, we found a bit difficulties to find our way up from the basement although we'd once been there almost 2 years ago when we had a quick breakfast meal at mamak's restaurant, Bestari which is one of the earliest restaurant that enliven the row of shops even though by then the construction was not fully completed.

What I could say is.. please keep going up the escalator until you see lots of shops even they're not yet fully opened, cause our misstep was going out to the ground floor and went outside.That's when we started to lose our direction..:p

I haven't tell on how did we suddenly plan to go to Duduk Cafe. If you are regular to 'Jalan2 Cari Makan' program on TV3, you sure have heard Duduk Cafe as advertised in their program few weeks ago. I don't know, maybe while watching it I was freaking hungry that all the food appear to be soo good and mouthwatering to me, it makes me really want to eat there. So,we thought last Saturday was just the right time to hang out that we decided to explore this eating place.

But, never believe any news before you got to see it with your own eyes. Yes, seeing is always believing. It's not that I'm saying that the place is not good, it's just that it was out of my expectation..to rephrase that; it's not as what you saw on TV. As I flipped the menu, I became more upset as I didn't find any beef dishes that could capture my appetitte. Frustrated I am..

Apparently, this is not a sad ending story..

Thanks to Ben's for having another outlet there at Level G2, opposite San Francisco Coffee. My saviour of my growling tummy :p

Ben's Beef Cheese Burger (RM23.90) is not dissappointing. I finally have an awoseme beef meal for the day! Ezal had Wagyu Beef Pie (RM 22.90), and that was good too. To complete and balance the taste of the whole set is the salad! The best of it's kind!!

On finding our way back to the basement car park, we stopped by at the supermarket, B.I.G Ben's Independent Grocer. Ben's is one of the company under this BIG group. I saw the same sesame bun they had for the cheese burger, also selling at Ginger Bread Man Bakery at the Supermarket ;)

Look at this fresh selling salads. They're all arranged with their roots in a pipe half-filled with water to keep them fresh all day long. And here, at the supermarket, you could also find raw Australian Wagyu Beef (tenderloin) selling at RM480 per kg..woohoo..

All in all, there are still lots of vacant shops. I think Publika is too spacious that they took quite some time to make this shopping mall occupied.

216: Weekend Getaway To Malacca

We attended a cousin's wedding in Malacca last weekend. It was Ezal's cousin, Amin; Mariah's brother (hi Mariah, wave hand). So this is him with the newly wed sweet looking wife :)

Since it was Saturday, and we already in Ayer Keroh, we decided to spend a little more time in town where we stayed in Seri Costa Hotel, very near to Menara Taming Sari and not so far from the A'Famosa fort. But it's not the whole family trip. It's only us and my sister in law with her family who prolonged our stay in Malacca. The rest went the other way to Penang to attend another cousin's wedding. (Haih, it's a wedding galore month again)

Even though Ayer Keroh and town is in fact not that really far, it took us about half an hour to reach there and that was because of the series of traffic lights which each of them we have to wait around 120sec.whenever the light turns red. Yep, in Malacca they have this countdown at every traffic light. Red light runs approx. 120sec while the green light at 94sec. And when we saw the red painted (historical) building, that was when we started to face the crawling traffic. So many cars yet so narrow road regardless it's Saturday or Sunday. Well, what do you expect at the tourist spot town? a clear hassle free traffic? pfft...

Alhamdullillah..

We managed to check-in at 3.00pm. Our temporary crib for the night and the next half day was at Room 283. Had a quick rest, then we went out again to Menara Taming Sari, a 360 degree viewing tower to enjoy the sight seeing of Malacca from the bird's eye view. Beautiful scenery! but I was not able to capture those views as the revolving 'UFO' thing didn't allow my camera to shoot nicely. It will cost an adult RM 10.00 per ride. But then, the queue was quite long, and the man selling the ticket told us it would take almost 45 minutes to stand the queue. As he saw us hesitating to go for the ride, he then offered us the fast lane ticket, no queuing, straight away for the 7-minutes ride. At RM 20 per head, the fast lane really worth it plus you'll get a souvenir goodie bag.

Immediately after we pay for the ticket, another staff escort us to the revolving tower and seated as at the section right in front of the entrance. As the 'UFO' thing touch the ground, both of us were the first to enter *bliss. At one time, it could travel 66 passengers to the sky :p.

After that, we experienced the night life by riding trishaw or rather well known as 'beca'. Nowadays, the beca are all fancily decorated with flowers, lights and loud speaker! We have to agree that it's far way different from the past 8 years when I visited Malacca during my study trip. Casa-Del-Rio hotel is there now on the riverside which last time I saw the site, there's nothing but the old fishermen's boat and the aged buildings.

Per ride they'll charge RM20. This boy, Shafiq took us to few places with his beca from the Menara Taming Sari to A Famosa fort and ended at River cruise. He kept telling some history of Malacca, so it's kind of interesting ride ;)

If you ever saw the gigantic ship by the roadside, that is Muzium Samudera. Fee per entry is RM3 for adult. Be sure not to come later than 8.15pm as they're closing at 8.30pm.

Then comes the next day, sunny Sunday. The weather being kind to us, so we continue with our plan to walk along Jonker Street and climb uphill to St Paul's Church before we back to the hotel again. Jonker Street literally translated as "Second Class Gentlemen" in Dutch. That statement was extracted from a piece of paper that I had in one of the souvenir packaging bought at Jonker Gallery. Further as mentioned, the street has been renamed a number of times from Jonker Street to Jalan Hang Jebat, then Jalan Gelanggang and finally to Jalan Hang Jebat (again?). In the past, it was the residence of servants servicing the houses of the upper class families in Heeren Street (located parallel to Jonker st). These days, there are no longer upper or second class community in the street. All we can see today is rows of heritage building converted to a boutique, shops selling antiques, restaurants, museum etc.

This is 'pokok Melaka', the tree of which Parameswara was leaning on when he witnessed a small mousedeer outwitting his hunting dog. Remember?We learnt that in school;)

Owh, before I forgot, if by any chance you drop by to this town, don't miss Asam Pedas Melaka. It's a must try dish! I would recommend Asam Pedas Selera Kampung, located at the shop lots next to Pahlawan Walk Market. But price wise, please expect as if you're eating in KL. We had Asam Pedas Ikan Merah-RM6.00 per bowl, deep fried ayam kampung- RM 8.00, a portion of cencaluk, nasi and some sayur2 to complete the meal.

That's all about the weekend getaway to historical places in Malacca. I bet there are many more places that I did not cover during this short trip, especially eating places. Maybe another few years, we shall go back there for another good holidays with Pae/ Ezal jr.? (eyes sparkling).

P/s: Thanks to my colleague, AJ for introducing Seri Costa Hotel to us. Very strategic location for tourist who'd like to walk around the town. Overall, it was a nice stay!

215: Week 15

I only realized that I haven't been blogging since the past 5 weeks when I wrote this, as last Saturday marked my pregnancy on it's week 15th. And that night was the first time I experienced my midnight hunger which I believe this is the feeling that always mentioned by my sister-in-law when she was pregnant.

Being me, I'm a person who rather sleep than feeding my hunger, if my tummy suddenly sending a hungry signals when the clock is already reaching to late night, cause I'd always thought that those unused calories intake would transformed to a scary fat inside my body while I'm sleeping..which I don't need them, really!

But that was all before i got this little baby inside my growing belly. True, it was really discomforting to suddenly woke up from my sleep to feel nothing but freaking hungry. I tried to ignore my tummy but in the end, I had to wake my ass up at 3.00 in the morning to find something to munch on.

I think it's time for me to prepare a healthy snack right beside my bed so I could easily grab them whenever my stomach growling again at 3am. I'm thinking of buying Jacob's Hi-Iron Nutri Cracker for a quick pick-me-ups (Jacobs). What do you have during your time, mommies out there? Would you love to share?:)

p/s: I'm starting to lose my waist line, but a maternity pants still could not fit me well. I tried to wear it once to work, and it just slipped down my butt, luckily I was still right in my house front door. But honestly, all my current pants, I need to be creative on how to wear them...haha :))

214: Week 10

On my 10 weeks of pregnancy and still (sort of) not believing that I"m actually having about 1.68 inches/ 42mm little baby at this point of time. Physically, my tummy has not yet showing any baby bumps. Well of course it won't be showing up at the 10th week, Pae. :D

"Your baby weighs approximately 5 grams and is the size of a small plum! The baby has grown an incredible amount during these past few weeks, but you still are not showing too much yet."

Till later, I'm feeling so exhausted today even though I'm just doing the normal house chores. This is my look on 9th weeks, during Mojat's wedding at Putrajaya on 22.10.2011. Haven't put on any weight kan?kan?kan? (praying my baby to grow healthy but at the same time I'm not getting fatter) haha, what a wish :p

213: Sofea Collection Scarves

Had this in my draft for quite some time. As lately, I am not in a right mood to update my blog as most of the time (at night) I 'll be much busy taking care of my sort of 'night sickness' and all of these mixed-up feelings :'(

Thinking of I don't want to leave this entry as forever in my 'draft' box, I am sharing it with you today.

This is my first scarf from Sofea Collection and I'm proudly say the awning (especially) are still in a very good condition (as long as you don't put them in washing machine). I've heard some of my colleagues complaining about their scarves, (some are even bought from the most earliest well-known brand) on the crooked awning.

For me, I'd been wearing them since 2009 and been sticking to it ever since (other than my shawl). You can see I'm wearing them both on my engagement and my solemnization day :)

212: ToTell or Not To Tell..

I'd been keeping this to myself for few days, before I realized that I should somehow tell Ezal about taking the next step..

Of all the uneasiness, discomfort feeling that I went through the past few weeks, the metal taste in my mouth that I had to bear with (yelp!), cravings for food that all so sudden tickling my taste bud, the bloated feeling and gases that always occupied my tummy that made me wonder why..

All these had been answered by the magical two lines!! ( if you know what I mean)

After being a bit reserved on telling the whole world about our little bundle of joy, I am now ready to share the good news with all of you. I'm sooo over the moon that I couldn't resist telling you this exciting announcement.

"I am 8 weeks pregnant carrying this 10.6mm little LOVE inside of me"

p/s:I hope this is a good reason of why this blog has been deserted for three weeks ;) Syukur Alhamdulillah..Thank you Allah!

This is cool..almost everybody (in my Twitter list) are tweeting on #SayaGenerasi ever since this evening. I just couldn't help to keep reading their tweets and most of it really really put me back in my 10 yrs old shoes and make me walk down that memory lane... ^__^

The first tweet that caught my attention was this one from @benhurism :

Oh my..I still remember those long school break in December when me and my sister will be right in front of TV on Saturday morning, not to miss this story about a girl who came from other planet from the future who owned a magical power. She has three dots next to her eyebrows going upwards the forehead, named Alana. Everytime she uses her band (don't know what does it call) on her head, focusing on items..and she can move the thing without touching it. Heh, we both think that it was cool.. Thanks jojo, for bring it back to mind :)

As I tweet, I wish to put more words on the line but of course it's limited in twitter. Hence, here goes my extended version of #SayaGenerasi :

1. #SayaGenerasi Hankyu Jaya adalah sebuah shopping mall yang gah di jalan TAR. Bak kata @benhurism pula, jangan lupa Mun Loong, Pasaraya Keramat dan Pusat Tusyen Emkay..Haha, memang tak lupa..

3. #SayaGenerasi Starlight Express indoor theme park di Yaohan. Wee hoo~ this is the most fun part, naik Zamperla (sampan gergasi), Matterhorn dan macam2 lagi.

4. #SayaGenerasi subscribe majalah Kuntum dan Dewan Pelajar kat sekolah. Beli Dewan Pelajar untuk setahun punya naskhah sekali gus. Suka baca cerita rakyat and kartun Kluk-kluk dan Cindai kat last page magazine tu. :)

5. #SayaGenerasi main roller skate kat court depan Astaka, Titiwangsa adalah sangat 'in-thing'. Zaman tu memang penuh court, macam dalam ice-skating rink. Boleh siap berkenalan lagi.I remember that I made friend with a girl named Munirah, tapi sebab masa tu takda lagi facebook & twitter bagai..kami dah lost contact.

6. #SayaGenerasi first day puasa dah start borong kad raya nak tulis bagi kat kawan satu kelas, kalau boleh satu sekolah nak bagi :p. Depan sekolah pun ada stall jual kad2 raya. Memang meriah.

7. #SayaGenerasi sempat main permainan tradisional konda-kondi. Korang tau? kalau tak..sah kita bukan satu generasi :p

210: You've Got Raya Card!!

Doesn't it excite you whenever you receive a mail? Especially a Raya card after all this while, a physical card is no longer a trend. Before Facebook or Friendster was invented, when it came to a day before Eid, all these telco lines: Celcom, Maxis, Digi are harvesting profit as we send SMS'es to all our relatives, friends, colleagues and acquaintances to greet them "Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir Batin". Even sometimes during Raya Eve, we could hardly texted our friends as the line became congested. By that time our phone would't stop making noises as the sms's kept pouring in like the sounds of firecrackers outside the house :p

This year, I only received a raya card from my sister..erm, but that wouldn't be as exciting as when we got them through mail with the stamp on the top right envelope. (I used to have a few stamp albums. It was one my most loved hobby when I was a little kid, and that could make me feel exhilirated whenever I received letters with a stamp on the envelope..hahahaha..those stamp-collecting moments)

But that's not about it. Out of sudden on this one sweet day, I received an air mail from Aizat. It's a Raya Card!! :D

Thanks much Aizat for the card. The picture is so stunning. That one must be captured by yourself, I guess ;) I wonder when can I get there (I mean, generally; Spain..and specifically; Alhambra ) to experience the great architecture with my own bare eyes.

I was having my sahur just now when this drama; Ramadan Terakhir previously shown in TV3 during last Ramadan in Samarinda slot is being played again at 3.30am. Speaking of the drama, I remember that I was once asked my twitter friend a.k.a my senior in UIA, akak Zakiah (@Zakiah PZ8), of where to get the full version of the song 'Jangan Lupa Namaku' sang by this band: Pompa Bensin which had become the OST for the drama (as she also tweet about how much she loves the song).

Just a minute ago, I was Googling for the band trying my luck whether they already released their full version some where in Youtube (all this while we only managed to see their Unofficial Video in that space). And this is what I found from this blog. Thanks to Anem Arnamee for sharing the entry.

208: The Garden @ One Utama

While every body else is visiting relatives, asking for forgiveness, eating lemang, ketupat, rendang, raya cakes and so forth, we were here having our own quite time at The Gardens, One Utama. Wait, are you complaining what's on earth are we doing there? What's wrong with it anyway? ^_^
For whatever the reason is, I shall keep it to myself.

And since it was first day Raya, we could hardly see Muslims in the shopping mall. Nonetheless, the crowd is still as usual, never ever lesser..but most of them are Chinese. Oh I forgot, there were Muslims but mostly were Arabs.

Taking a break for our fully filled tummy from rendang, lontong, ketupat, lemang etc. that we ate since morning, we just laid back at The Gardens for some light refreshment.

And this is what I call a refreshing indulgence! Orange mango sorbet with strawberry topping (RM11.90). Looks yummy and taste much better!!

207: First Syawal 1432H

Still in Raya mood, don't we? Thus, to relate my writing to the current state of mind, I am going to write more about my First Syawal celebration last Tuesday, 30th August 2011.

First Syawal, after visiting my late mom's grave at Taman Keramat, we headed straight to our relatives houses starting from my datuk sedara's house in Wangsa Maju and followed by others all in and around KL. That is our family routine, we won't be at home after Eid's prayer until late evening. We'll only be at home for Maghrib prayers, get changed and off we go again to complete our loop of visiting relatives on the first day.

This year, me and hubby spent two nights in my parents crib. And yes, it was full house on the second night when my sister's family also stayed overnight. But it's very true of the saying that the more the merrier, the better!

It was near to midnight but my parents house is still accepting guests a.k.a relatives who came to visit. The house was filled with chats, laughters and almost every minutes, firecrackers banged outside, breaking the not-so-silence midnight and caused little zara ameera to cry. Yeah, imagine the situation would you? The parents chatting, small kids talking in high pitch voice, firecrackers exploding and little baby crying..hahaha, now i miss those amusing moments when I'm sitting here all by myself at home. (Okay, that's clear why I need to have a job. No worries, come tomorrow I will not be getting this luxury of being-at-home-doing-nothing-except-blogging while others are in their 9-6 routine working hours).

Here are pictures at one of my uncle's house. I'm holding my 3 months old niece, Zara Ameera..Oh my, she's super duper cute.

206: Eid 1432 Hijrah

Ramadan passed and here comes Syawal. This Eid, me and husband went to my parents home for the first Syawal celebration. Praise be to Allah for every happy moments we had during these last few days. It was a joyful moments, blissful feeling as nothing could be happier than being with our families. I am grateful for still having my parents and siblings right here close to me to celebrate Eid with. On top of the rejoice, my in-laws family who always share their warmest companion.

For this Eid, I rewarded myself with a ready made 'baju Kurung Pahang' bought form Qamilla Boutique, SACC Mall, Shah Alam to match my husband's outfit. It is a golden beige base with silver woven songket. While the dokoh was bought frm PKNS Shah Alam. RM80 for the 3 tiers silver dokoh set. I think the price is good enough compared to the golden dokoh I bought few years ago in Jusco Alpha Angle, Wangsa Maju- RM150 for the 2 tiers.

That's it. Two brand new things for me. The rest are all my old accessories be it scarf, shoes, handbag..no need to spend so much when we don't really need to, kan?kan?

Today is 5th Syawal. With some other programs still in our list, this is what I could write for now.

We would like to wish everybody Eid Mubarak, Maaf Zahir Batin. We still have another one and half day to enjoy our Raya break, don't we? Enjoy your weekends!

p/s: I wish I could perform puasa enam but with the no. of days I have to qada' for the days I missed in Ramadhan, I wonder whether I could.

I was in a text conversation with my sweetest kak Fara earlier today when we were talking about MAYSAA long awaited restocking for their famous wrap band. Later midnight, when I was checking my e-mail, I am overjoyed to receive Maysaa's newsletter; announcing their new released scarves and snoods, featuring two brand new colors, white and dark blue. (I am truly excited that I'm straight away updating it here, it's so obvious isn't it?)
Anyway, both colors look good on the model, but my choice is still black and always be black =)

203: Qasar Saba Restaurant

These ladies next to me are my girlfriends who lives all the happy moments, sweet and sour, ups and downs towards and after the design crit sessions, WAY back then when we once called an architecture student in Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED) , UIA Gombak. Yep we're the fourth batch in this kulliyyah. Ahhh..those moments:)
Now, they are constantly juggling between commitment to works and families, stand over the long hours spending 'after-work-precious-time' (note that those precious time are supposedly belongs to their sweethearts who waiting for them at home) in the office, but somehow, eventually, made it to our iftar gathering this time at Qasar Saba Restaurant for our crave of Lamb Mandy! Thank you lovelies for coming..on top of all, thanks to Dot for the idea and start spreading the invitation in our FB inbox ;)

If Qasar Saba Restaurant is new for you, just to share that..it is a Yemeni Arabic food restaurant located in (not so) new shop lots behind Ong Tai Kim, Jalan Gombak. I think most of UIA students are very well versed of this area. To some of the UIA campus residents, this is one of the place where most of the students came to shop for foods, biscuits, maggi, milo, nescafe and such, stock up for few months.

To us, this is the place where we came all the way from UIA Gombak to send our dirty clothes to the laundry. Well, being students, you know how lazy we are to do the laundry ourselves when most of the time we have to be in the studio, dying to complete all the never-ending works and chased by the deadlines!

Talk about the past no more, here is the food that we had for the iftar: Lamb mandy (RM 19), Mullawah bread, Chicken Sheeh Tawouk (RM 15), Strawberry juice (RM8).

Those little cuties are Faiz and Aza's darlings. Pelangi Irdina and Afif. Afif was crying because he didn't want to go home while Pelangi was trying to calm him down.. :p

The ladies who were trying out hard to make it but couldn't come at the end were Afzan (due to the very last minute thing came up), kak Herna (for rushing works in the office), kak Ayu (couldn't make it as her son cought a fever on that very day..haish, what to do -_-), kak Jenny ( who is forever in Kelantan, if I were her, I won't be coming too :p), Rin and Kak Bulan (I belive they have their own reason) and last but not least kak Imm (who are still in her confinement at Alor Setar until Eid).

Special thanks to this only man, Ijat, who came a bit later then. Without him we might not be having this great picture.
