Happy Valentine’s Day friends!

First up are the follow up pages to the Disneyland/October Recap spread (shown below). I used the 6×6 squares page protector (Design F) for the first time here. It’s sort of a Best of October type of page – I enlarged two of my favorite photos of the month and also printed out 2 digital layouts that I made that month.

Some of you were curious to see what the back side of that page looked like and specifically how I integrated it with the following week, so here it is.  I utilized the space on the back side pretty much the same way I did with October and created a “best of November” page.  Originally I intended to use slots to display digital layouts I made in November but I didn’t scrap any pages that month! So I ended up choosing three favorite moments from that month and blowing those up to 6×6.

Design E is fast becoming one of my favorite page protectors, especially now that I’m printing and including more photos taken from my camera phone.  I’m super excited that Becky is working on a new page protector design that will have pockets sized perfectly for instagram photos.  Can’t wait!

More changes are on the horizon as well. My littlest is starting school in March. I plan on spending the rest of this month doing everything I can to make the transition from home to school a smooth one. And I just want to cherish and savor this last bit of her toddlerhood. One thing I won’t miss though are the diapers. And the potty training. I haven’t had any success with her going number 2 in the toilet. What gives?? I only have a couple of weeks to get her trained and I could sure use some tips in this department.

I’m working on valentines treats for Audrey to pass out to her classmates.  These adorable tags are a free download by merrilee of mermag.

This weekend I plan on taking photobooth pics again to make a valentine’s card for Eric.

This was my first hybrid mini album undertaking.  And dare I say it?  I think I’m so much more into making albums and photobooks than I am into making individual scrapbook layouts.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to completely stop creating individual pages or anything crazy like that but doing this december daily album has helped me realize that I work better and have more fun within the scope of a theme/project.

Day 1

Day 2 – Eric’s birthday. Originally, this spread was just 12×8 photo of him with the “happy birthday” text on the bottom right corner. A few pages into the album, I came back to day 2 and added the two smaller photos.

I almost left the back side of the insert blank because all I could think of writing was, “We love you.”  Cheesy no? I ended up writing down how the girls are saying their I love you’s. Audrey’s is, “I love you my da-thee,” and Madeline says, “Love you teuw.“

Day 4 – Quote from Audrey: “Milk comes from the cow’s butt. Right?”

Day 8 – No photos on day 8. Seemed like a good time to have a little fun with this letter Audrey wrote to Santa. so technically, this didn’t happen on day eight- she actually wrote the letter back in November – but it’s her first dear santa letter so I wanted to include it somewhere in this album.

I scanned the letter in at 600dpi, cleaned it up (just erased the lines), sized it down to fit on a 12×8 canvas, divided it in half and printed each part on a 6×8 sheet.  Then I went to town with glitter glue.

Day 9 and 10  – Day 9 was the night of Audrey’s holiday performance at school so there are lots of pages.

Day 11 – Another no photo day. Part of the day was spent addressing holiday cards so I included those here. Here’s the front of the envelope.

I’m ready for a little break from deadlines, a little bit more quiet, room to breath.

So I totally have this hate-hate relationship with writing.  I hate it, and I hate that I hate it. I’ve been reading Tina’s (aka lifelovepaper) weekly Currents posts for quite awhile now. I love how she uses a list style approach to document her “right now” – random things like what she’s reading/eating/listening to – to pretty much anything that pops in your mind at that moment.  It’s a simple, pressure-free approach to writing that really appeals to me.
