Peek Freans Sooper becomes Pakistan’s First National Brand to Break the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title

Peek Freans Sooper officially broke the Guinness World Record title for successfully making World's Largest Cookie Mosaic. Interestingly Peek Freans Sooper made World's Largest Cookie Mosaic in the shape of Flag of Pakistan with 150,000+ cookies measuring 226.51 m² (2,438.15 ft²).

On 70th Independence Day, the EBM family came together to do the impossible, to set a new Guinness World Record title by making World's Largest Cookie Mosaic (Pakistan Flag) with an amazing resounding message of how Sooper a nation it is!

Here you can see some how it all started. Celebrities including Younis Khan and Anoushey Ashraf kickstarted the activity by putting the initial cookies to set the world record on Independence Day, 2017.

This record breaking event was attended by celebrities including Younis Khan, Shoaib Akhtar, Adnan Siddiqui, Anoushey Ashraf, Hareem Farooq and more... These celebrities came out to support the efforts of Peek Freans Sooper, EMB Group. All of the celebrities were seen cheering for the team and encouraging them throughout the event.

This activity was so much exciting that i could not resist to be part of it remotely. I was getting the updates on social media where Peek Freans Sooper and my friend bloggers were updating the exciting activities happening during the event.

I would appreciate that Peek Freans Sooper, Pakistan’s favorite biscuit planned to unite the nation under one umbrella with the inspiring and positive message of “Sooper Hai Pakistan”. Peak Freans team worked with great passion and enthusiasm. Slowly pieced together the mosaic, biscuit by biscuit with specially baked white and green color cookies of Peek Freans Sooper. With hard work, dedication and a Sooper attitude, the flag mosaic was finally completed in 6.5 hours.

Safety and hygiene were of paramount importance and the team ensured that the strict quality standards employed by Peek Freans were followed throughout the process. The record building process was overseen by independent witnesses including a health and hygiene inspector and a surveyorfrom Islamabad).

Republic launched its flagship store at The Madison Square Mall, Lahore

[Lahore: 25^th August, 2017] After having distinguished itself as one of the finest formal wear brands in the country, Republic by Omar Farooq and Republic Womenswear, now launched its flagship store at The Madison Square Mall Lahore on Friday, 25^th August, 2017.

The launch was well attended by a large number of media personalities, fashion bloggers, magazine editors and journalists including Fawad Khan who made a special guest appearance. The event was organized and managed by Aden Rehan PR & Management Solutions.

The launch showcased Republic’s menswear by Omar Farooq and Republic’s womens wear by Sana Omar. The menswear exhibited formal wear which included handcrafted, dapper suits with a wide variety of dress shirts and jackets. The menswear also comprised of eastern apparel with an extensive range of kurtas from plain to embroidered and self-patterned. Javed Bashir: The Music Producer for “Ek Shaam Pakistan Ke Naam”

[Karachi: 11^th August, 2017] The multi-dimensional platform Shaan-e-Pakistan, led by the powerhouse Huma Nassr of Braahtii, earlier announced its landmark third season set to take place in Karachi, Pakistan, from 6^th till 8^th of September 2017; the Shaan-e-Pakistan Luxury Privé Edition 2017. With the fashion force Ali Xeeshan as the creative show director for the fashion segment; Huma Nassr now announces the music maestro Javed Bashir as the music producer for the official song “Yeh Hai Shaan-e-Pakistan” and the iconic musical night “Ek Shaam Pakistan Ke Naam”.

Javed Bashir has previously been seen in Coke Studio and has worked as a composer in several international projects as well.

This night in our last seasons was led by the late Amjad Sabri in Delhi and then Rekha Bharadwaj in Lahore and in line with our tradition this year we have Javed Bashir on board. When planning the show this year, we envisioned greater creativity and edge along with the traditional sound of the sub-continent to this night, following late Amjad Sabri’s demise the only person that could perform at the same level as the late Qawwali maestro is Javed Bashir. I am of the view that the strength of any project or platform is in its people and talent which is why each year with Shaan-e-Pakistan we see an evolution in terms of outlook, stronger partners and talent. Javed Bashir will also be accompanied by International artists on stage at Ek Shaam Pakistan Ke Naam. Speaking on his association with the platform, Javed Bashir has said: “The name of the show Shaan-e- Pakistan says it all, as an artist one is always working towards bringing pride to the nation. I would like to congratulate and thank Huma Nassr on starting this project and giving me the opportunity to be a part of it. Shaan-e-Pakistan is very special for me because I have put my heart and soul in this project as the official music composer for Day 1 “Ek Shaam Pakistan Ke Naam”. I have taken inspiration from classical numbers and recreated them for the big performance and I hope that the audience will love it. Shaan-e-Pakistan Luxury Privé Edition – Season 3 is an evolution of the first two editions, endeavoring to showcase the prowess of Pakistan’s fashion/cultural/art/music/cuisine being held in Pakistan this year, a truly premium event. This season also brings in big names from across borders that include, fashion designers, actors, singers, hosts, choreographers and many more. This will be the first time Javed Bashir will be the official music producer and composer of such a show.

The official song “Yeh Hai Shaan-e-Pakistan” featuring Javed Bashir is his rendition of a classical number; which has been created with a 21 member orchestra troupe. The song has been written, composed and sung by Javed Bashir; Amir Azhar is on the guitar and bass, he has also done the music arrangement and recording with Adnan Gill. The song has been mixed and mastered by Adnan Gill at Alfa Production Pakistan. On the violins there is; Muhammad Saleem Khan; Ilyas Bhatti; Sakhwat Ali; Ghulam Rasool; Zahid Nazir; Zeeshan Sikandar. On the dholak there is Khursheed ul Hasan. The chorus and claps are by; Gulam Hasan; Kashif Ali; Ahmad Hasan; Asif Ali; Junaid Ali.

To this end, 2017’s three-day event will open with Shaan-e-Pakistan’s signature and coveted ‘Ek Shaam Pakistan ke Naam’ celebration focusing on musical collaborations led by Javed Bashir and joining him will be other artists from India and Pakistan. It is poignant to note that this same night in 2015 was headlined by the late Amjad Sabri who left Indian audiences spellbound with his Kalaams for a night of spiritual beauty and then in Lahore in 2016 by Indian music maestro Rekha Bhardwaj.

Days two and three will feature an elaborate fashion show with International and Pakistani designers sharing the stage to present luxury and bridal collections for the 2017/2018 season. Day three will also host a grand solo fashion showcases featuring a duo of the finest fashion ateliers from across the region.

Hussain Rehar, with the launch, made a mark in the fashion fraternity with his two new collections. The launch was well attended by a large number of socialites, fashion bloggers, magazine editors and journalists where distinguished personalities like Anaum Hammad, Danesse Ali and Neha Manika looked stunning in Hussain Rehar’s designs.

The launch exhibited two collections: The Vivid Delusion and Athleisure that unveil the unique design aesthetic of Hussain Rehar. DATE NIGHT launched with a spectacular opening at the Karachi Arts Council

[Karachi, 21^st August 2017]: Date Night, a musical comedy, launched on 18^th August with a spectacular opening at Karachi Arts Council, and managed to enthrall the audiences.

Date Night, a combined product of the duo Shaan Lashari and Dawar Lashari, officially launched in Karachi, and entertained the audiences with the knee-slapping and rib cracking humor that left them in splits. The entire crew which includes Shaan Lashari, Waleed Zaidi, Shah Fahad, Mahnoor Khan and Sheherzade Noor Peerzada performed brilliantly in a story filled with situational hazards, hilarious cover-ups and improbable situations.

Date Night takes its script from Derek Benfield and has been adapted for the Pakistani audience in the form of a musical. The story revolves around two well off couples who go to England for a weekend getaway, but get a surprise of their lifetime. Three impeccable and entertaining dance sequences are the essence of the musical, Date Night, with one in the first act, the other in the second and the final at the very end. The play is filled with feisty punchlines, comical situations, and is extremely fast paced. There is a smooth transition from one scene to another, and it will glue you to your seats for the duration of its runtime of 1 hour and 22 minutes. A number of renowned personalities from the media industry came to the launch to show their support, and were all praises for the play.

Dawar Lashari, the director of this play, was pleased with the response he received in Karachi, he stated, “The entire cast has worked really hard for this play, and we are all happy to receive such an overwhelming response, and love from the people of Karachi. The whole idea of the play is to entertain people and make them laugh, and we are glad we could do that.”

The main sponsor for the play is Fanta, along with other big names such as Serene Air, Careem, DolceVita, Kinetic, Sufi, Rose Petal and Oye Hoye. Date night is a theatre play full of punch lines, amusing situations, and fantastic dance routines. The play is set in an expensive mini boutique hotel somewhere in the suburbs of England. Two well to do couples go there for a weekend getaway and now they are in for a surprise of a lifetime. This was first launched in Lahore, and played from 16th to 26th March, 2017, and was a huge success. Now it is all set to run in Karachi from 18th to 27th August, 2017.

Karachi celebrates international youth day with the largest gathering of community youth leaders; ‘Azme-Naujawan’

[Karachi, 13^th August] Azme-Naujawan (AeN), a collective effort of 10 civil society organizations, will officially launch their youth program for the special occasion of International Youth Day.

According to the UN, there is growing recognition that as agents of change, young people’s inclusion in the peace and security agenda and in society more broadly, is key to building and sustaining peace. Therefore 12^th August marked the beginning of Azme-Naujawan, a program launched to address the disengaged state of youth in Karachi. It managed to bring together over 1000 youth from all over Karachi, as well as civil societies, and key government officials. Notable celebrities were also present to show their support for this program.

The ceremony was commenced by Sidra Iqbal, prominent journalist and activist, introducing AeN as an exemplary initiative that offers holistic training to the youth to develop their professional and entrepreneurial skills, and provide them with a platform for personal growth opportunities. The program will train 1100 youth from Karachi over a period of six months across six districts.

“AeN is not just a pledge, but a comprehensive action plan undertaken by civil society organizations to train youth, and help them find solutions in the form of social action projects and campaigns,” Iqbal stated.

Ten consortium members were invited to cite the most pressing youth issues in their understanding and also elaborated their own organization’s contributions to the Azme-Naujawan action plan. These panels also addressed any questions regarding the program by the audiences, and media present at the venue. This was followed by success stories of determined and passionate individuals, who believed in themselves, and accomplished their goals against all odds.

Dr. Nafisa Shah, the chief guest at the ceremony, launched the official website of AeN at the event. She stated, “I am proud to be part of this program as AeN is a much needed initiative that will address the issues faced by youth. I have full faith in AeN consortium to deliver what they have promised.”

The launch ceremony concluded on a high note as Kaifi Khalil, enthralled the audiences with their performances.

International Youth Day 2014 with the President of Pakistan

International Youth Day 2014 (IYD14) has been organized by Pakistan Red Crescent Society and Saviors Foundation on August 12, 2014 at PNCA, in Islamabad. Talented Youth of Pakistan was selected all over Pakistan by the committee and the awards were distributed by The President of Pakitan, His Excellency Mr. Mamnoon Hussain. And I got a chance to head the Social Media Department of this event.

The event started with the recitation of Holy Quran. Mr. recited worsses of the Holy Quran. After the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran, event was formally started by Ms. Sidra Iqbal, the master of the ceremony. She started the event by sharing her valuable comments on International Youth Day. How it was named as an international day by United Nations. How our youth has worked exclusively in the past and how they are really adding value in the country as well as in the globe.

With introductory remarks, Ms. Sidra called Mr. ___ to share his valuable view on this auspicious day.

Speaker 1: He has won Hilal-e-Imtiaz

Starting the speech by commenting on the international youth day and how UN has taken the inititative to raise awareness and promote youth he shared that our youth is at great risk. He mentioned some issues which as a country out youth is facing are Substance Abuse and Identity Adolescence. He shared the figures that In developed countries like US and UK, the identity adolescence is up to 20 years but in Pakistan its 30 years and sometimes even above. Physical and Sex Abuse is also a very crucial issue here in our country. Some people say its inherent but it is not. Its actually adapted. Youth get into the hands of people who use them and abuse them sexually. And it’s a big challenge. He also mentioned about homo sexuality and sexual identity disorders getting very common in our society and it’s like a suicide.

Criminal Behavior and Violence is again another issue arising. I see a light in this darkness as present govt. is doing a lot on this issue.

He mentioned that there are some of the following very important issues our youth is facing.

1- Poverty 2- Bullying 3- Trauma 4- Conflicts 5- Deplivation 6- Alcohol 7- Parental Styles

There is a lot of importance of Teachers and parents. But we are not having those parents and teachers. He mentioned that we are missing those teachers and parents. Society behavior is changing. But steps should be taken for positive mental health. We think we are happy but actually we are not happy. There are two types of happiness. One type of happiness is the happiness you have with yourself and the other type is the happiness you get due to society and others. Mentioning the issue of happiness he told that there should be skills of living course needed to be introduced to get people know how to live their life happily. Getting bit poetic he said,

Badalna ha to rindon se kaho apna chalan badlein

Faqat Chalan Badalne se Meykhana na badly ga

Due to prejudice of shia sunni fasaadat’s and lastosis issues are also increasing in which you cannot differentiate b/w likeness, lust love and Ishq. I would suggest all people to be careful about religion, land, occupation and family. He suggested that do not follow the psychopaths, use your own mind in decision making. And at the end he closed his discussion with the poetry of Bullay Shah

Kisay Pukhay nu Khilaya hi tey dass,

Kisy suttay nu Jagaya hi tey das……

And he ended his address with these remarks, “Mental Health for All and All for Mental Health”.

With his closing remarks, Ms. Sidra Iqbal shared the remarks as “It’s an auspicious sign that we are a young country with young people. Our youth come in uncertainty and that is only the certainty”. With these comments she invited Dr. Saeed Elahi – Chairman PRCS.

Saeed Elahi – Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society addressed the audience. He congratulated the youth for the awards. He mentioned His Excellency Mr. Mamnoon Hussain the president of Pakistan who is also the president of PRCS and thanked him for participating in the event as a chief guest. He mentioned about 1030 ambulance service being launched in Islamabad by PRCS three months back to facilitate people of Islamabad. He also mentioned that there has been 70% increase in tension in youth in last 10 years. And this tension factor due to uncertainty also affects employment, relationship and society. We are trying to reduce mental health stigma to get people live healthy life. He mentioned special thanks to our Pakistan Army and Police who are putting their efforts to keep this country peaceful. He said that government is expected to provide incentives to volunteerism. Special Thanks to Saviors Foundation and PRCS staff and all the volunteers who made this event successful.

His Excellency Mr. Mamnoon Hussain was invited to address the audience by Sidra Iqbal. H.E Mr. Mamoon Hussain started the speech by appreciating Chairman Savior Foundation and their Administration, Pakistan Red Crescent Society and Excellencies.

Pakistani’s skills and capabilities are not less than anybody. I congratulate the youth of Pakistan on their global day. It’s important that youth should get the opportunities without any preference. Present government is giving special importance to the issues of the youth of Pakistan so that they can positively contribute to the development of Pakistan. Some of the schemes of government like 1- Reimbursement of Fee 2- Laptop Scheme 3- Interest free loans, etc… are some of the examples of initiatives of government for the youth of Pakistan. President of Pakistan H.E Mr. Mamnoon Hussain gave an example of how the youth of Pakistan has broken the record of Arfa Kareem. He also congratulated the volunteers that they are the future for the development of Pakistan. He mentioned that in such critical situation where the country is having the challenges of terrorism, our youth is making us proud with their creative capabilities globally. And our youth is also busy in peace keeping efforts which make us proud. I pay tribute to the youth of Pakistan who is busy in serving the country and nation.

Youth is our only precious resource. Lets give them such environment so that they can participate in the progress and development of the country. And they should help government efforts to be successful. I am glad to know that United Nations has made this day a global day. In such critical situations where youth could indulge themselves in non progressive activities but such activities could keep our youth towards positive activities. As more than 60% of our population is youth so we need a lot more efforts to keep them busy in valuable activities. The Ilm Apps Challenge is a series of interventions aimed at creating platforms for e/m-learning, gamified education, as well as local content aimed at improving the quality and reach of K-12 education in Pakistan and end the Educational Emergency by enhancing quality of education, improving access, and bringing out-of-school children within the fold of education.

The first phase of the project that ends in August 2014 comprises two stages:

· The first stage will seek to understand and document the current landscape and future potential of e/m-learning and local content generation in Pakistan. Through a series of one-on-one meetings and brainstorming sessions, it will produce a landscape document identifying current state and potential opportunities as well as a future roadmap for intelligent experimentation in the sector.

· The second stage of the process shall entail identification of entities, teams, and collaborations identified on the basis of promise and performance to create platforms and content necessary to address the gaps and opportunities in the e/m-learning eco-system. This will take the form of an innovation challenge that will identify ideas, projects, and entities that may be considered for funding in the subsequent phase.

In the second phase, a small number of projects and programmes shall be selected for partial or full funding for development and deployment of the initiatives created as a result of the Challenge.

Following the success of their showcases in Pakistan at Fashion Pakistan Week in February 2014, PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week in April 2014 and the launch of their S/S ’14 collection, premier designer textile house Kayseria took their brand to an international platform with the showcasing of their prét-a-porter collection at Pakistan Fashion Week Dubai 2014, titled ‘Shaadianeh - Wedding songs’.

Inspired by the aristocracy of the pre-partition Nawab era of 1920s and the wedding events, the collection paid homage to the compositions of Sufi poet Amir Khusro. Based in vibrant colors with a blend of emerald greens and shocking red and gold, the collection primarily comprised of Cotton Lawn Farshi Ghararas, Shararas, Anarkali frocks, Kayseria’s signature Saarees, Peshawaas and Sherwanis. The collection was also exhibited at the Ibn Battuta Mall and Dubai World Trade Centre on the 28^th, 29^thand 30^thof April.

‘Kayseria' as the name suggests is synonymous with the Jogi, the pilgrim adorned in the unstitched Saffron robe. The Jogi sets out to discover the beauty that transcends this world's confined concepts and journeys onto something magical and majestic. The brand, originally conceived by Mr. Hamid Zaman, is among the pioneers of Eastern fashion brands in the country to have a dedicated research and development department led by an experienced and qualified artist & designer, Mr. Waleed Zaman, Art Director of Kayseria. A Kayseria design is timeless, being made with the sincere intention to adorn the wearer and enhance their beauty.
