Palos Verdes Art Center Presents 2026 “The Summer Show”

The Palos Verdes Art Center is presenting The Summer Show now through August 22, 2026. This all-media exhibition is hosted by and open for submission only to members of the Palos Verdes Art Center’s seven active artists groups: Artists Open Group, Pacific Arts Group, Paletteers, Peninsula Artists, Photographic and Digital Artists, The Artists Studio, and The Third Dimension. This is a great way to spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying all of this artistry in the gallery.

JUROR: MICHAEL DAVIS

Michael Davis received his MFA from CSU Fullerton and maintains a studio in San Pedro, California. He has had over thirty-three solo and sixty-five group exhibitions in the U.S. and abroad for museums and galleries and city, state and federal arts agencies. Davis has received two National Endowment for the Arts fellowships, the Hand Hollow Arts Fellowship, and an AIA Award of Excellence and has been a visiting artist and guest at numerous university forums.

Gallery Hours are: Monday through Friday – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday – 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Closed on Sundays.

The Palos Verdes Art Center is located at 5504 Crestridge Road, Rancho Palos Verdes.

Palos Verdes Homes Sales 1st Half 2026

Palos Verdes real estate prices increased for the first half of 2026 with increases also in average sales price, and a slight decrease in price per square foot and the number of homes sold. 2026 first half average sales price for single family Palos Verdes homes increased 10.3% compared to the first half of 2025 – $2,631,283 compared to $2,384,887. Average price per square foot for Palos Verdes homes sold in the first half of 2026 was $894 compared to $895 for the same time period in 2025 – a decrease of 0.1%. The number of Palos Verdes homes sold in the first half of 2026 was 1.2% lower than the first half of 2025 (249 compared to 252).

The mix of Palos Verdes homes sales for the first half of 2026 showed 1 sale under $1,000,000 which was .4% of sales (compared to 1 in the first half of 2025). In the first half of 2026, 102 Palos Verdes homes sold between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000 which was 41% of sales (compared to 112 homes – 44.8% – in first half of 2025). In first half of 2026, 131 Palos Verdes homes sold between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000 which was 52.6% of sales (compared to 126 homes – 50.4% – first half 2025). Finally, in the first half of 2026, 15 Palos Verdes homes sold for $5,000,000+ which was 6% of sales (compared to 11 homes – 4.4% – first half 2025).

The total valuation for all single family Palos Verdes homes sold the first six months of 2026 increased from 2025 – $626,480,520 compared to $571,911,455 with 3 fewer homes sold in the first half of 2026. In the first half of 2026, the highest priced home sold for $9,700,000 in the Lunada Bay neighborhood of Palos Verdes Estates (first half of 2025, there was a $6,800,000 sale) and the lowest price home sold for $905,000 in Eastview/RPVneighborhood of Rancho Palos Verdes. Palos Verdes Features Summer Sounds Across the Peninsula!

Palos Verdes home owners can enjoy a late afternoon outdoors with their family listening to great music. The City of Rolling Hills Estates will be hosting their “Concert in the Park” at Ernie Howlett Park featuring RADIO ROYALTY on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. You can bring a low beach chair or blanket to relax and enjoy the music. This years featured band, Radio Royalty, will keep the energy high with an exciting mix of chart topping hits spanning the last eight decades. Covering as many of 100 artists and a wide variety of genres, Radio Royalty is known for delivering crowd pleasing performances that get the audiences of all ages singing and celebrating together. This great concert is sponsored by Waste Management.

Also performing this weekend at the NEIGHBORHOOD CHURCH, CAMILA LIMA will be featured on July 19, 2026, with the concert starting at 6:30 p.m. Bring your own picnic and join the group at 5:30 p.m. on the seaside patio. The concert is free and seating is provided. It does get chilly next to the ocean so bring a jacket. Camila Lima is an award winning Soprano who has starred in several operas and toured in Europe and the United States singing at venues like Carnegie Hall and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. She has also performed at popular music venues. Camila will be accompanied by Ruy Folguera, a pianist and composer whose scores have been heard in Rush Hour, Nina and Forgotten.

St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church will be continuing to host their Summer Garden Concert Series on July 26, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. with THE TRUJILLO JAZZ ENSEMBLE.

South Coast Botanic Garden Enjoys Fun 2026 Summer Happenings!

Palos Verdes homes owners have a wonderful opportunity to join the many great summer events held at the beautiful South Coast Botanic Garden. Whether it’s just walking in the Garden enjoying the summer blooms, joining the current exhibitions, or dog walking, the Garden is full of great opportunities. Below is just a short list of some fabulous events that will take place this summer.

Currently being enjoyed at the Garden are Thomas Dambo’s Trolls – these 12 foot wood sculptures can be found throughout the garden, SOAR Tropical Butterflies are back for all to enjoy, Los Angeles County Museum of Art has lent some of its finest sculptures to the Garden for a fun game of Hide & Seek, Sunset Concert Series through August, and Dog Walking is enjoyed once again on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

Palos Verdes Homes Sales June 2026

Palos Verdes real estate sales June 2026 for Palos Verdes homes decreased compared May 2026. 47 Palos Verdes houses sold in June compared to 50 homes in May and increased from the 39 homes that sold in June 2025. There were 55 Palos Verdes single family homes pending in June which increased from the 44 homes pending in May. The number of active Palos Verdes homes for sale in June (188) increased from the 171 homes for sale in May.

Average sales price for Palos Verdes homes sold in June decreased to $2,446,000 compared to $2,962,000 in May and decreased from June 2025 at $2,587,000. Price per square foot for Palos Verdes houses that sold/closed escrow in June decreased to $918 from $951 in May. Average days on market in June was 30 days which decreased from the 32 days in May. Months of inventory (months it would take to sell existing inventory at the current rate of sale) was 4 months in June which increased from the 3.4 months in May for Palos Verdes homes for sale. A “normal” or balanced market is considered 3 to 6 months of inventory (less than 3 months is a seller’s market and more than 6 months is a buyer’s market). Currently, there are 187 single family Palos Verdes homes for sale. 64 Palos Verdes houses are in escrow (27 homes have pending sales and 37 homes are active under contract). Additionally, 17 homes have sold/closed escrow in the first 10 days of July at an average sales price of $2,745,588.

Shakespeare By The Sea Presents “Macbeth” At Hesse Park!

Palos Verdes homes owners have a wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy outdoor entertainment on our beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula. The City of Rancho Palos Verdes will be presenting “Macbeth” on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Hesse Park Upper Field. Shakespeare By The Sea is presenting its 29th annual free summer festivals for everyone, and is a theatrical event that serves the entire South Bay, LA, and parts of Orange Counties. They are the only Shakespeare company on the West Coast that travels to so many communities with its programming.

Few plays capture the dangers of ambition and power as vividly as Macbeth. It demonstrates what happens when grief hardens into ambition, when fear overtakes wisdom, and when those in power silence the voices that speak difficult truths. It is a story about consequence and integrity.

The show will begin at 7:00 p.m. and admission is free. Remember to come early and enjoy your picnic dinner outside while you take in the ocean views. You are encouraged to bring blankets or low slung beach chairs. Hesse Park is located at 29301 Hawthorne Boulevard, Rancho Palos Verdes. There is plenty of free parking available at this site.

Palos Verdes Enjoys Summer Movies In The Park 2026!

Palos Verdes homes owners know that summer is the time to enjoy “Movies In The Park.” On Saturday, July 11, 2026, the City of Rancho Palos Verdes will be presenting their second movie of its series at the Ken Dyda Civic Center, located at 30940 Hawthorne Blvd, Rancho Palos Verdes. They will be showing the movie “THE SANDLOT” at approximately 15 minutes after sunset. The City will be sponsoring this event and all you need to do is bring your low back chairs, blankets and warm clothing. There will be food trucks and goodies for all to enjoy plus pre-movie activities for the kids to enjoy.

The pre-movie activities will start around 7:00 p.m.

Ken Dyda Civic Center is located at 30940 Hawthorne Blvd, Rancho Palos Verdes.

Palos Verdes Real Estate Eastview/RPV Neighborhood 2025

2025 Palos Verdes homes sales for Eastview/RPV decreased to 49 single family homes sold compared to 54 in 2024. Price per square foot for Eastview/RPV houses that sold in 2025 increased to $739 compared from $731 in 2024, a 1.1% increase. Average sales price for Eastview/RPV homes sold in 2025 was $1,373,048 compared to $1,324,365 in 2024. The most expensive home sold for $2,100,000 and the lowest priced home sold for $905,000.

Currently, Eastview/RPV has 9 active Palos Verdes homes for sale. There are 6 single family homes ranging in price from $1,175,000 for a 3 bedroom/2 bath, 1,187 square foot home, to $1,998,000 for a 4 bedroom/3 bath, 2,588 square foot home. There are 3 condo/townhomes ranging in price from $459,500 for a 2 bedroom/2 bath, 1,207 square foot condo, to $815,000 for a 3 bedroom/3 bath, 1,398 square foot condo.
