South Coast Botanic Garden Presents Summer Sunset Series 2026!

Palos Verdes homes owners will enjoy an evening of summer fun when visiting the South Coast Botanic Garden for their Sunset Series, a weekly event that will bring the Garden to life after hours on Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is the fifth season for this program where guests can roam the 87 acres, enjoy Dottie’s, the new food and beverage concession station near the Living Wall (sip on a cocktail or grab a bite to eat while enjoying the Garden’s natural beauty), enjoy yard games and music. The younger generation will be entertained in the Kid’s Zone by the fun and energetic Ms. Allison. They can enjoy parachute fun, obstacle courses, lawn bowling, bubbles and more. The Garden will provide the fun; however, parents still provide the supervision.

The program will change slightly each week on the following dates: June 11 – Neal Diamond Night with Hot August Nights, June 18 – Dueling Piano Night with Pianomania, June 25 – Yacht Rock Night with Sea Breeze, July 9 – Madonna and Blondie Night with Heart of Blonde and Material Girl, July 16 – Santana Night with Smooth Sounds of Santana, July 23 – 90’s Pop Rewind Night with Radio Ready, July 30 – ABBA Night with The fABBA Show, August 6 – Selena and Shakira Night with Tejano Queen Forever, August 13 – Prince Night with The Purple Generation, August 20 – Surf’s Up Night with The Royal Rats and August 27 – Modern Country Night with Zach Michael Band feat & Chelsea Sanchez.

No outside food or beverage will be allowed during the Sunset Series. They are also offering an exclusive VIP experience. 2025 Palos Verdes homes sales for Crest stayed the same at 22 single family homes sold in both 2025 & 2024. Price per square foot for Crest houses that sold in 2025 decreased to $803 compared from $812 in 2024, a 1.0% decrease. Average sales price for Crest homes sold in 2025 was $1,975,773 compared to $2,044,627 in 2024. The most expensive home sold for $2,755,000 and the lowest priced home sold for $1,500,000.

Currently, Crest has 19 active Palos Verdes homes for sale. There are 6 single family homes ranging in price from $1,700,000 for a 4 bedroom/3 bath, 2,051 square foot home, to $2,420,000 for a 4 bedroom/3 bath, 2,244 square foot home. Palos Verdes Street Fair & Music Festival 2026!

Palos Verdes 38th Street Fair & Music Festival will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, through Sunday, June 14, 2026. As in past years, the Fair will have its “Friday Fun Night” with the opening of the carnival on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This is when local youth grades 7 through 12 can enjoy a fun-filled night with pre-purchased unlimited ride discount tickets.

The Fair will have something for everyone with its marketplace, carnival rides, art contests, pony rides, petting zoo, main stage entertainment and more. The stage schedule will feature Rock, Blues, R & B, Tribute Bands, Local Youth Bands and Performance Troupes. Whether you love listening to great live music or want to get up and dance, you will enjoy this great show.

On Saturday, June 13, 2026, the music will start at 12:00 noon with the School of Rock PV, Upstream, Flock of 80’s, Kelly Boyz & Line Dancing, and close with Brent George Live. There will be Community Group Performances starting at 12:00 noon.

On Sunday, June 14, 2026, the music will start at 12:00 noon with School of Rock PV, Juice Boxx Heroes, Tenn West, and close with The Michelle & Fitch Band. Community Group Performances will start at 12:00 noon.

The fair hours for Saturday, June 13, 2026, are 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and for Sunday, June 14, 2026, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The carnival hours are Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Parking is available at the Promenade parking structure at Drybank Drive and Silver Spur Road. There will also be parking at Palos Verdes Peninsula High School.

The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy has many exciting events for the community during the month of June. Included are Native Plant Nursery, Where Sea Meets Sky, Nature Walks, Guided Garden Tour, Story Time Tails, Nature Club for Kids, Native Plant Care & Sales, and Volunteer opportunities for everyone. Most of the preserves and the White Point Nature Center & George F Canyon Centers are open. In order to keep all these areas open, volunteers are needed to help restore and maintain the beauty of Palos Verdes. Today in the Volunteer Activities you can find additional opportunities to help our reserves.

Special Events

Guided Nature Walk at Agua Amarga Reserve will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Join naturalists and specially trained walk leaders to explore a beautiful trail and see where hungry goats have just prepared the land for planting on a newly expanded habitat restoration site located in this picturesque neighborhood canyon with views of the Pacific Ocean. Guided Nature Walks

Where Sea Meets Sky: Coastal Birdlife Walk will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Meet in front of White Point Nature Education Center for a free bird walk with an experienced naturalist. Binoculars will be provided. 1600 W. Paseo del Mar, San Pedro.

George F Canon Discovery Walk will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Naturalists will guide you along a trail through the preserve to discover unique wildlife in their canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin. Park in the dirt lot on the west side of Palos Verdes Drive East about 400 feet south of Palos Verdes Drive North. Meet at the Stein Hale trailhead. Sign up at pvplc.org/calendar.

Explore the Hidden Gems of the White Point Nature Preserve on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Naturalists will guide you along a trail (with amazing views across to the ocean) to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their coastal sage scrub habitat. Meet in front of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike. Preserve parking is available at the end of the street in a gravel lot at 1600 West Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro. Native Plant Wonders: Guided Garden Tour will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the White Point Nature Plant Garden. Step into the beauty of the White Point Native Plant Garden and discover the wonders of California’s native flora. On this guided tour, you’ll learn expert tips on growing and caring for native plants, explore the vibrant garden habitats, and see firsthand how native plants support local wildlife. Perfect for gardeners, nature lovers, and anyone curious about sustainable landscaping. Meet at the White Point Nature Education Center and take home ideas to make your own garden a native plant paradise. Located at 1600 Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro.

For The Kids

Storytime Trails – Snazzy Snakes at the White Point Nature Education Center will take place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Join at the White Point Nature Education Center for fun stories about the cool critters that live on the nature preserve with crafts and hands-on activities. Recommended for kids ages 3-6 and their caregivers.

Nature Club for Kids -Reptiles at the White Point Nature Education Center will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for a reptile themed Nature Club. They will do fun reptile activities and meet the live reptile ambassadors. This is for ages 3 to 10.

Plant Sales:

Bring Nature Home: Native Plant Sales will take place at George F Canyon on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The native plant expert will give you professional tips on creating a garden way station and home for local species! Park on the west side of PV Drive East just about 400 feet uphill from the intersection of PV Drive North.

Native Plant Sale at White Point Nature Education Center will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The address is 1600 Paseo del Mar, San Pedro.

Hands-On Conservation

Restoration with a View: Abalone Cove Reserve Outdoor Volunteer Day will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. You can join the conservancy to volunteer on a breathtaking coastal reserve helping restore wildlife habitat. Students can receive community service hours. Register at pvplc.volunteerhub.com.

Native Plant Nursery Outdoor Day will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Join at the native plant nursery and assist in plant propagation to be planted as part of the habitat restoration efforts across the peninsula. Students can receive service hours. White Point Nature Preserve Outdoor Volunteer Day will take place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. You will be working to maintain the preserve’s restoration area of native plant species to improve critical habitat for wildlife at the preserve and beautify outdoor natural space for the community. Alta Vicente Reserve Outdoor Volunteer Day will take place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Help to restore habitat on the 22 acre restoration site for rare native birds (the cactus wren and California gnatcatcher) and rare native butterflies (Palos Verdes Blue and El Segundo Blue). Enjoy ocean breezes and observe beautiful view of Catalina Island on site. Students can receive community service hours. Register at pvplc.volunteerhub.com

Lunada Canyon in the Agua Amarga Reserve will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Peninsula Seniors Present Bohannon Lecture Series & Coffee & Cars June 2026!

Palos Verdes homeowners have great presentations in the June 2026 Peninsula Seniors Bohannon Lectures Series. These Lectures take place at Scriba Family Center located at 602 Deep Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates, with in-person lectures beginning at 10:30 a.m. on the following Wednesdays:

June 3 – “The Goats are Back in Town” will be presented by Michael Choi, CEO of Fire Grazers, who will discuss the fire safety weed abatement efforts of his company’s 1,400 goats grazing on the Palos Verdes Peninsula to keep our open spaces safe.

June 10 – “Discover the PV Wine Club” will be presented by CEO and founder, Jeff Rinna, who will introduce his new wine club on Deep Valley drive which brings the unique wine country tasting experience to the South Bay.

June 17 – “Captain Kip’s Adventures” will be presented by Captain Kip Louttit, U.S. Coast Guard, Retired, as he will discuss his work as executive director of the Marine exchange of So Cal and Vessel Traffic Service of LA and Long Beach, promoting a safe, secure, and reliable maritime transportation system, and his 30 years of sailing experiences around the world.

June 24 – “The Sounds of Summer” will have Ann and Lee Strong Members and Music Appreciation instructors, entertain with musical pieces to celebrate the season, sampling music from Tchaikovsky, The Beach Boys, Louis Armstong, Seals and Crofts, and others.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, Coffee & Cars will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the top parking deck of the Promenade Mall. On the first Saturday of every month, a group of car enthusiasts bring their Hot Rod, Custom, Muscle Car, Sports Car, Antique, and other special interest vehicles to this location where you can admire the cars, meet the owners and ask them questions. To reach the top parking deck, enter from Indian Peak Road at the Peninsula Shopping Center off Silver Spur Road and Hawthorne Boulevard in Rolling Hills Estates.
