2025 Palos Verdes homes sales for the Palos Verdes Drive North neighborhood increased to 51 single family homes sold compared to 46 in 2024. Price per square foot for Palos Verdes Drive North houses that sold in 2025 decreased to $877 compared from $949 in 2024, a 7.6% decrease. Average sales price for Palos Verdes Drive North homes sold in 2025 was $2,360,431 compared to $2,672,411 in 2024. The most expensive home sold for $5,875,000 and the lowest priced home sold for $1,250,000.

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, you can Celebrate Earth Day by helping care for the Native Plant Demonstration Garden at White Point Nature Preserve. At the Preserve there will be weeding & watering activities, native plant seed preparation, children’s learning activities at the Nature Center, a guided garden walk, raffle prizes and more. Whale Of A Day will include whale watching from the shore and Point Vicente Lighthouse will be celebrating 100 years with grounds tours and there will also be tours of the Interpretive Center museum. At the Whale of A Day festival, children will enjoy related marine exhibits, children’s games and crafts, inflatables fun zone, face painting, marine themed vendors and organizations – all at no charge. In addition to live music, there will be animal exhibits throughout the day. Some of the past participants have included The Aquarium of the Pacific with its Aquarium on Wheels, Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, George F Canyon Nature Center, Save the Manatee, National Marine Fisheries, Heal the Bay, Marine Mammal Care Center, South Bay Wildlife Rehab (with their rescued hawks and raptors), Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy, California Native Plant Society, and Las Candalistas.  There will be multiple food trucks, kettle corn, churros and beer & wine.

Living History Museum of African American Heroes will take place on March 8, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Peninsula Library. Who will YOU meet… at the Living History Museum of African American Heroes? Join the young presenters who portray their heroes from African American history! Learn about well known and lesser known leaders, scientists, artists, and civil rights leaders as the children demonstrate the impact their heroes have had on the lives of all Americans. Mario Party will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Library.

QI GONG will be presented on Monday’s in March from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Peninsula Center Library Community Room. This program is to help release tension, promote healing and strengthen our immune systems. This program is low impact and helps with mind and body practice.

Lets Talk Music! A listen and discuss program of select albums and artists. This enjoyable group will meet on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library – Purcell Room.

Friday Fun:  Learn about the fun events taking place this month. Start the weekend off right at the library. This weekly program is aimed at grades TK – 5th grade but all ages are welcome. Friday Fun takes place on March 6 – with Purim Masks, March 13 – with Mario Party,  March 20 – with Self Portraits and March 27, 2026, with Springtime Critter Crafts. These delightful events take place at the Peninsula Center Library – Storytime Room from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Tech Knows will take place on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Malaga Cove Library Community Room.

PV Reads “Beneath a Scarlet Sky” by author Mark Sullivan on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library – Mezzanine Landing.

Spanish Storytime will take place on the third Wednesday of the month from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Peninsula Center Library Storytime Room. This month it will be on March 18, 2026.

Unraveled: Fiber Arts Circle will take place on Mondays, from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Bring your projects and join in for a morning of stitches and chit chat. All fiber arts and skill levels are welcome. This pleasant circle gets together at the Miraleste Library.

Monthly Movie will take place on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. The movie this month will be “The Philadelphia Story” (1940).

Where Sea Meets Sky: Coastal Birdlife Walk will take place on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. Meet in front of White Point Nature Education Center for a free bird walk with an experienced naturalist, binoculars provided. 1600 W. Paseo del Mar, San Pedro.

Naturalist Guided Walk at George F Canyon will take place on Saturday, March 10, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Naturalist will guide you along a trail through the preserve to discover a unique variety of wildlife in the canyon habitat with amazing views of the LA Basin. Meet at the Stein Hale trailhead. Park in the dirt lot on the west side of Palos Verdes Drive East about 400 ft. south of Palos Verdes Drive North. Meet at the Stein Hale trailhead. Naturalist Guided Walk at Alta Vicente Reserve, will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. You can explore restored coastal sage scrub habitat and enjoy beautiful views of Catalina Island. Outdoor Stewardship Leadership Development Program with the Conservancy will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, at the White Point Nature Center. If you are excited about restoring wildlife habitat and enjoy working with others, consider becoming a Team Leader for our Outdoor Volunteer Days! Team Leaders assist our staff in guiding volunteers during events. This is a great opportunity to gain leadership skills you can use to make a difference. Flexible schedule. Ages 16 +

Explore the Hidden Gems of the White Point Nature Preserve on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Naturalist will guide you along a trail (with amazing views across to the ocean) to discover a unique variety of wildlife in their coastal sage scrub habitat. Meet in front of the Nature Center and come inside to explore after the hike. Preserve parking is  available at the end of the street in a gravel lot at 1600 West Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro. Native Plant Wonders: Guided Garden Tour will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the White Point Nature Plant Garden. Step into the beauty of the White Point Native Plant Garden and discover the wonders of California’s native flora. On this guided tour, you’ll learn expert tips on growing and caring for native plants, explore the vibrant garden habitats, and see firsthand how native plants support local wildlife. Perfect for gardeners, nature lovers, and anyone curious about sustainable landscaping. Meet at the White Point Nature Education Center and take home ideas to make your own garden a native plant paradise. Located at 1600 Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro.

For The Kids

Nature Club for Kids -Butterflies  – will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at White Point Nature Education Center. They will have fun activities and learn about how scientists study animals that come out at night. This is for ages 3 to 10.

Native Plant Sales

Native Plant Sale will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at George F Canyon from 10:30 a.m. to noon. This plant sale is now located at the Stein Hale Trailhead. Park in the dirt lot on the west side of PV Drive East just about 400 feet uphill from the intersection of PV Drive North. Create your own butterfly garden with a beautiful native plant from the Palos Verdes Peninsula. A native plant expert will give you a professional tips on creating a garden way station which will become a home for local species. George F Canyon is located at 27305 Palos Verdes Drive East, Rolling Hills Estates. White Point Nature Education Center will also be having their Native Plant Sale on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to noon for another opportunity to purchase native plants. White Point Nature Education Center is located at 1600 Paseo Del Mar, San Pedro.

Outdoor Volunteer Activities

Outdoor Volunteer Day at Alta Vicente Reserve will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Come help to restore habitat on the 22 acre restoration site for rare native birds (the cactus wren and California gnatcatcher) and rare native butterflies (Palos Verdes Blue and El Segundo Blue) Enjoy ocean breezes and observe beautiful views of Catalina Island from this site. Outdoor Volunteer Day at Abalone Cove Reserve will take place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Join the Conservancy to volunteer on a breathtaking coastal reserve helping restore wildlife habitat. Outdoor Volunteer Day at White Point which will take place on Sunday, March 15 & March 29, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. You will be working to maintain the preserve’s restoration area of native plant species to improve critical habitat for wildlife at the preserve and beautify outdoor natural space for the community. Hands-On Conservation at the Lunada Canyon Nature Reserve Agua Amarga will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Join this canyon restoration site to help maintain one of the newest sites as we improve habitat for local wildlife such as the rare Palos Verdes Blue Butterfly. Students may receive service hours. Nature Ambassadors: Join the Community Outreach Team 

Inspire the Next Generation as a Nature Education Docent by sharing your love of nature on the Peninsula with students and nature center visitors. For more information, contact Holly Gray at hgray@pvplc.org. This is for 18 years +.

Voices for Nature: Become a Community Outreach Volunteer and be part of the outreach team at community events around the South Bay and greet participants at our free monthly guided nature walks. 2025 Palos Verdes homes sales for the Valmonte neighborhood increased to 44 single family homes sold compared to 35 in 2024.  Price per square foot for Valmonte houses that sold in 2025 decreased to $1,082 compared from $1,113 in 2024, a 2.8% decrease.  Average sales price for Valmonte homes sold in 2025 was $2,521,398 compared to $2,615,844 in 2024.  The most expensive home sold for $5,209,375 and the lowest priced home sold for $1,600,000.

March 4 – “Flying Through History” will be presented by Marva Thomas, current Long Beach volunteer and Airport Advisory Commissioner. He will be discussing the rich history of Long Beach Airport from the beginnings of aviation when the beach was the airstrip, to its role in war years, to currently gearing up for the 2028 Olympics.

March 11 – “Friends of the Point Vicente Lighthouse” will be presented by the financial officer of the Friends of the Point Vicente Lighthouse Catherine Sincich. She will be discussing details of the history of the lighthouse, and the celebration of its 100th anniversary this year. Also to be discussed will be the efforts to work with the U.S. Coast Guard on the much needed restoration of this coastal landmark.

March 18 – “The International Printing Museum” will be presented by Mark Barbour, the Executive Director and Curator of the International Printing Museum in Carson. He will be discussing the Museum’s mission to teach the history of printing and books, and how innovations in printing helped shaped the modern world.

March 25 – “Bob Dylan and the Nobel Prize” will be presented by members Ann and Lee strong who will tell the controversial story of how singer-songwriter Bob Dylan won a Pulitzer Prize (2008) and a Nobel Prize (2016) for literature, not music. Various officials will explain the reasoning for the prestigious awards, and sample some of the lyrics Dylan wrote.

On Saturday, March 7, 2026, Coffee & Cars will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on the top parking deck of the Promenade Mall. On the first Saturday of every month, a group of car enthusiasts bring their Hot Rod, Custom, Muscle Car, Sports Car, Antique, and other special interest vehicles to this location where you can admire the cars, meet the owners and ask them questions. To reach the top parking deck, enter from Indian Peak Road at the Peninsula Shopping Center off Silver Spur Road and Hawthorne Boulevard in Rolling Hills Estates.
