Simple Kapadia, younger sister Bollywood actress Dimple Kapadia’s is no more. Simple breathed her last in a Andheri Hospital in Mumbai on 10 Nov.

The former actress-turned-costume designer had been undergoing treatment at various hospitals since the last few years.

It is believed that she was suffering from cancer but the family never disclosed about it.

Simple started her acting career when she was 18 years old with her debut hindi film Anurodh, she acted opposite her brother-in-law Rajesh Khanna.

Simple Kapadia acted in many hindi films like Hum Rahe Na Hum, Dulha Bikta Hai, Naseeb, Shakka, Lootmaar, Man Pasand, Ahsaas, Rehguzar, Chakravuyha and Pyar Ke Do Pal.Tumhare Bina, Jeevan Dhaara, Zamane Ko Dikhana Hai.

A source says, “The family was under terrible stress because of Simple’s illness. They never spoke about it then and they will not speak about it even now.”

A family source said, “Akshay Kumar (Dimple’s son-in-law) is returning from Baramati, where he is shooting for Priyadarshan’s next film.”

Heavy rainfall has been reported from Indian cities of  Mumbai, Goa and Konkan region.The weather dept in  Mumbai has said that a tropical cyclone has strengthened over the Arabian Sea off the western coast. The storm will hit Mumbai tomorrow around 5.30 am  in the morning.

Met officials  have reported that a cyclone with winds strengthened to 75 kilometers per hour will hit the southern Gujarat, Northern Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa.

The Cyclone named Phyan was about 250 km west of Goa at 2.30 a.m. Thursday morning,  it is been  issued an “orange” alert.  That is one step below the red alert given for a severe cyclone.

The cyclone is still 400 kms away from the coast of Goa but is said to be moving dangerously fast and the next 36 hours are said to pose a greater threat to the western coast.

Phyan was 420 km south-southwest of Mumbai and 670 km south-southwest of Surat in south Gujarat.

“The system is likely to intensify further and move north-northeastwards and cross south Gujarat and north Maharashtra coast between Mahuva and Dahanu by early hours of Nov 12,” the website reported.

The weatherman said Wednesday morning that the cyclone will lead to “rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places and isolated extremely heavy fall (over or equal to 25 cm) over Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra during next 36 hours”.

“Rainfall at many places with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places is likely over coastal Karnataka during next 24 hours. Rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places and isolated extremely heavy falls (over or equal to 25 cm) is likely to commence over south Gujarat from today (Wednesday) afternoon.

“Squally winds with speed reaching 55-65 kmph gusting to 75 kmph are likely along and off Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra coasts during next 36 hours. Sea condition will be very rough over along and off Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra coasts. Squally wind speed reaching 55-65 gusting to 75 kmph is likely to commence along and off south Gujarat coast from today afternoon.”

Soccer player Elizabeth Lambert of the  New Mexico women’s team has been suspended for engaging in rough play in the Mountain West Conference semifinals match.

Lambert is prohibited from taking part in practices, games and conditioning, coach Kit Vela announced on Friday.

Lambert apologized for her actions, and said she was “deeply and wholeheartedly regretful.”

“My actions were uncalled for,” Lambert said in a statement released by New Mexico. “I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation.”

“This is in no way indicative of my character or the soccer player I am,” Lambert said in her apology. “I am sorry to my coaches and teammates for any and all damages I have brought upon them. I am especially sorry to BYU and the BYU women’s soccer players that were personally affected by my actions.”

(AP) PROVO, Utah — A New Mexico soccer player has become an Internet celebrity for the wrong reasons.

Junior defender Elizabeth Lambert was suspended Friday for her infractions the day before during a 1-0 loss to BYU in a Mountain West Conference semifinal. Lambert is seen in video from the game throwing elbows, colliding with several players and then yanking the ponytail of a BYU player who went crashing to the ground.

“My actions were uncalled for,” Lambert said in a statement released by New Mexico. “I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation.”

The Kerala by Election Results counting is today, reportedly the Indian National congress party candidates are leading in all the 3 Constituencies where the elections were held.

Abu Azmi an SP MLA was slapped by the MNS legislatures today for taking oath in hindi.

The 13 MLA’s of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena MNS on Monday created havok in  Maharashtra assembly.

As soon as Abu Azmi a SP MLA began taking oath in Hindi, the 13 member MNS MLA’s rushed towards Azmi and snatching the mike away from him.

MNS members shouted slogans, demanding that Azmi should take the oath in Marathi.

The House was adjourned for 30 minutes as the pandemonium continued. Soon after that, MNS MLA Ram Kadam slapped Azmi.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray in October had warned that his party’s  would ensure that all MLAs take oath in Marathi Language.

“If any MLA does not take the oath in Marathi, the House will see what happens,” Raj had threatened.
