A ring-tailed lemur leaps from above close to his (or her) unsuspecting buddies at Fota Wildlife Park.  These little fellas were very entertaining to watch as they leapt around this tree.  In the wild they can only be found in Madagascar now as there are no monkeys there which would provide too much competition.  More [...]]]>

I was down in Fota two weeks ago on a glorious Sunday afternoon when we had that week of an Indian summer.  The place was packed with young families who like us were happy to get out on a Sunday for a change this year.  This week on Pana-Vision will be Fota week as I work my way around the park.

The last few days have certainly been a welcome Indian summer after the record-breaking wet summer we had this year.  A few days of unbroken sunshine has been almost unheard of for the past few months with people making the most of the good weather.  I was down in Fota last weekend and the place was really busy. The photo above shows the Clarion in the background with offices and restaurant in the foreground.

In recent years the traditional Lee Swim has been re-instated.  I was almost convinced to do it this year but didn’t do so in the end.  I might do it next year though, which seems an awful long way off at the moment…  Above, one of the competitors swims under the quite recently built Cornmarket Street Bridge while spectators enjoy the sunshine.  Sometimes, just watching an event can be enough!
