The Kuna Yala, indigenous people of Panama, have many hand crafted items you can purchase. The hand woven crafts are really amazing. These baskets are in all sizes and different shapes. In the city markets you can expect to pay $80- $200. If you are able to trek out to the Kuna Yala territories you can purchase them for a much lower price.

This one is particulary funny because I think it's supose to be a child. I have never seen a child with a physic like this, that's for sure. This sign can be found near parks.

This sign is from Gamboa. Gamboa is a great place to go wildlife watching

This was an awesome day’s adventure in Panama. I drove up from Panama City with a friend to Soberonia National Park in Gamboa. The rainforests are lush and there is lots of wildlife. On this particular trip, I saw mostly butterflies because there were many other hikers on the trails. On a previous hike I saw Gato Solos and a Cappuccino Monkey. I hear the morning hours are the best time to hike

The speed bumps can be infuriating here in Panama City. Wowzer! We’ve had 5 flat tires since living here and now lots of new rattles. The most humorous thing about it is Panamanians call speed bumps Policia Muerto or “Dead Policemen. You can make your own inferences to the reason.

I hope you like my video I made. I have more videos on my adventures in Panama at www.youtube.com/psychsyke

San Blas is a group of 365 Islands on the Caribbean coastline of Panama and is in Kuna Yala (the indigenous people of Panama) territory. Getting there in itself is an adventure and the best time to go is during the dry season in a 4 wheel drive off-road ready vehicle. Don’t even think of taking anything else. Some 4 wheel drives don't even make it! The distance is about 2-3 hours from Panama

What I love the most about traveling is experiencing new cultures in traditions, food, entertainment, language. It’s all interesting and fun for me to learn. However, in doing so, I have found a stronger sense of patriotism in my home country as well as felt more holiday spirit in my own traditions when abroad. For example, I’ve never felt more Christmas spirit as I did when living in Israel

As if we didn’t have to worry enough about the Swine/Pig Flu… now there’s Dengue!

What is Dengue, you ask? Dengue, pronounced dĕng'gē, is a fever brought on from a virus transmitted from your average friendly Aedes Mosquito. Oddly enough it’s only transmitted from Human to Mosquito to Human and NOT from Human to Human. So feel free to make out with someone with Dengue just don’t share

Living abroad brings the opportunity to learn another language. In college I studied Spanish (beginner I-IV). I picked it up fairly quickly. I would like to thank Sesame Street for that one. I traveled to Costa Rica and made my way about just find with the basics—greetings, ordering food, taking taxis, etc. But that was all in my Freshman and Sophomore years (1998-2000) and I haven’t
