I Survived Hurricane Michael

2018-11-28T15:07:00.002+12:00

I Survived Hurricane Michael

I was not in my home when the storm hit.

I was at work.

As you see the selling
is on the floor.

The hall is full of blown in insulation.

At least the selling is partly up in the hall.

This is the living room.

Do you like my sky light?

My grandson had helped me start preparing for Christmas when he visited me before the storm.

The white specks are insulation.

This is my kitchen.

It is funny what stayed in place and what was thrown around.

The view from the outside.

Below you will see photos of the hospital I worked at.

This is the building they put children of workers in during the storm.

This is my car that was in the hospital parking lot.

It doesn't look bad but it was totaled.

The windows were broken and the car was full of water.

I don't know what fell on the roof but it took a tole.

It just didn't look that bad, I figured they could fix it.

This is outside of the lobby when the storm first started.

We could see part of the building start to fly, yet people were driving in.

I had to work at Bay Medical Sacred Heart Hospital, so I couldn't evacuate during Hurricane Michael. I was called in and had to sign in at 5:00 PM before the hurricane hit. I worked my shift and it was my sleep time when the storm hit.

Patients had to be carried down the stairs on blankets from the 5th floor because the windows had blown out and the floor was flooded.

It is funny how in photos it does not look that bad.

The hospital shook so hard that even the fire escape stares shook while the storm tore our hospital apart.

Hurricane Michael did not pay attention to the sign below.

This sign was under my car.

This is only a glimpse of what we had happen while we worked at the hospital that day.

Mother - Daughter Trip

2018-06-11T15:08:00.000+12:00

My Daughter and I Visited The Redwood Forest

We started out going over the Golden Gate Bridge

This is one of the pot shops. We just had to get a photo.

People put money and other gift's in the hands.

What a good carving.

This is a photo from the sun roof.

This is a big tree.

Fun photo.

We drove through tree's.

We looked in tree houses.

We walked in the park.

We enjoyed the wildlife.

We walked to overlooks and had a few pick nick's.

We drove through more trees.

We played in the forest.

My daughter did exercise and stretches.

We walked on fallen trees.

We enjoyed the river.

We climbed on top of fallen trees as well as up hills.

We enjoyed the work of God.

We experienced a earthquake and saw what it does to a big tree.

We went inside of a living tree.

We drove the coast line.

We rode up into the top of the trees.

We visited a few tourist areas.

We were educated a little about the Redwood Trees.

We saw small creatures.

I looked for a leprechaun to go with the clover and stump.

We saw so much that was breath taking.

Another drive through tree.

This is a bird nest. I have a video on of the bird coming in and out.

We walked in the rain. Look at how big the tree is up to the umbrella.

You can see how big the tree is up to my daughter.

Moss and fern's cover this branch, making a walk through arch of green.

After days in the Redwood Forest it was good to be on the coast.

This is such a lovely place.

This was a trip to remember. My daughter is the best to take me on this trip.

This was my first morning view.

We had so much fun at the, Pink Sand Dunes.

The day started out cold but I got warm as we walked.

A good spot to rest.

We did this hike so I could show my students this photo.

I believe he had more fun than I did.

Cheap Healthy Dinner for One

Cheap Healthy Dinner for One

I am both working on a budget and ready to get back to healthy eating. I know this meal wasn't the healthiest but it was good and feeling.

For a person that works fifty to sixty hours a week it is easier to purchase fully cooked, breaded chicken to start this meal. I add one potato that I boiled and added powdered milk and butter so it could be whipped.

A bag of gravy mix that only required adding cool water then heating until it was thick. To top this meal off I pulled some frozen vegetable's out of the freezer and heated them in the microwave.

OK! Tomorrow I may start to eat healthy. This was a satisfying meal when you are to tired to cook.

It is Time to Stop Violent Mobs Pretending to be Protesters

2017-03-05T05:34:00.000+12:00

It's Time to Put a Stop to Violent Mob's Hiding Under the Name Protesters

I agree that people have the right to assemble and protest. It is those that chose to commit destructive, savage, illegal acts that cause a problem. It is OK to be vigilant in your cause but when you invade the life of peaceful law abiding citizens, you are going to far. Don't you realize it is wrong to block the path to a business or street.

The brutal uprising that has caused controversy in the United States over the past few years must stop. These unruly mob's not only hamper the day to day life of working people they threaten them with violence. The injury, stealing and arson of others property is unsatisfactory.

These mob's that call themselves protesters just incite harm in a cruel way.

To hamper caring people from going to work or to the doctor is unsuitable. The actions of these evil mob's should no longer be allowed. They should be charged and if they continue they should be thrown out of our country for good. If they cant stop the barbarian actions then let them move to a country other than ours.

I am disgusted with those that obstruct roadways causing emergency vehicles not to be able to save lives.

If they want to revolt and overthrow a government let it be another one not the United States. It is time for honorable Americans to stop being idle as the insolent, unstable mob's use physical force to ignite an UN-American agenda. If all they want to do is criticize our system of government it is time to remove them. If we start barring the occupation of violent mob's in the same way they disrupt others we may finally end the insanity.

Meat and Cheese Tray to Save Money

2015-12-13T12:27:00.003+12:00

Save Money on Meat and Cheese Tray

With all the ocasions to take a dish to parties and gatherinings the cost of providing food adds up.

The best bet is to always make your own dish to save money. When you decide to bring a meat and cheese tray the cost can add up to quite a bit.

What I did was go to the local thrift shop and purchased a tray for $1.50. Brought it home and wiped it down with a disenfectent wipe then put it in the dishwasher.

Next I went to my local grocery store and purchased a nice lettuce to put down as a base for color.

Then I picked up four packs of lunch meat and two packs of cheese. The cheese you will need to cut yourself. To go on the side I picked up some whole grain crackers. I put a small dish of ranch dressing in the center of the cracker tray.

All of this cost me less the $35.00. If you bought the meat tray ready made it would cost you $60.00 and up. I did take the time to wash and prepare the lettuce and cut the other topings but it was well worth it.

A Co-Worker Killed Herself

2015-12-04T12:57:00.002+12:00

A Co-Worker Killed Herself

A co-worker didn't come to work one day. She had always come in early and often left work late. She was so dependable that when she didn't show up one morning people became worried. The boss called her home to find out where she was. There was no answer so he called he emergency contact since she had lived alone for the past ten years. They went to the home and went in and found her. She had got up, dressed, left a note, then killed herself.

It was a shock to everyone. She was one of those people that always had a smile on her face. She seamed to have it all together. No one had taken the time to get to know who she was away from work. We all did our job, went home or to our second job then home.

We are all so busy just surviving that we don't look into the life of those around us. I know it's a hard world out there and it's even harder to ask for help. Sometimes all someone needs is to know that someone really does care.

Prevention for Crying while Cutting Onions

2015-11-28T11:34:00.001+12:00

Prevention for Crying while Cutting Onions

Never cry again when cutting onions.

First cut off the top of the onion and leave the root part on the onion.

You can now peal the outer dry layer off the onion.

Now when you cut the onion leave the root on until the last step.

This should help keep you from having watery eyes.
