The Final Post from Ms. Pandora

Pandora is almost the last one to leave from F12 batch of LIBA and she feels every bit sad that she has to leave just like every one of the others. This place holds memories that are more than enough for a life time. For everyone who went through this place. Not just me.
The last sem was filled with attempts to create memories and hang out as much as possible which culminated in people never sleeping for days together just so that we have more time to hang out. Cameras and Photos were common words in the campus. And the "I will miss you, keep in touch" a common phrase.

The emotions from the senies had trickled down to the junies and emo junies were also creating memories before breaking off for the summer internships. The biggest solace seems to be Facebook. Everyone is there in it, leaving some 3-4 of the batch.

Note : Rediscoved and publishing this, 5 years after it was drafted. Unfortunately, some of these I have forgotten the context to. Surprised at how fast time has gone by.
People have drifted apart, grown better and newer relationships. Some have stayed true to their promises of keeping in touch, cherishing memories. So many changes have happened and all the above memories seem like eons ago.
The need for a grand reunion is pretty evident if you ask me.

Yesss I knoww I have been a lazy bumm and I should write more often.. but for now, read on ;) :P

I actually cant think of a way to start this post you know.. So i thought i would just start it by saying the truth! :P

And yea this post is going to be long since its been a while that i posted and A LOT has been going around here in LIBA! And yea this post has- 'NO GOSSIPS' just in case you are expecting that!! :P

Hmmm.. God when i come to think of it, there have been just so many events taking place here .. wait let me recall and do comment if i miss out any ( for those who are not from/in LIBA but still follow the blog, well you guys are just gonna be really jealous for the next 5 minutes coz we people had some crazy fun time in the past one month ;) ).

So yea, lets go in the order the events happened.. First the seniors introduced "CLUBBIN" to the fellow juniors! Yes, clubbing, why you guys think that we are so busy that we cant partyeh with our juniess.. huh huh.! :P Well actually to be frank, we kinda are :/ so we just introduced them to the new clubs that are there inside LIBA which can keep them occupied :D

Apart from the regular clubs/cells which have been in existence for some time now like the Placement committee, The student affairs club- 360 Degrees, Alumini Committee, HR Club, Finance Club, Mark It, a few new clubs have come into picture and made a mark- to begin with we have the Entrepreneurial cell - called IGNITE. Its a great initiative and a lot of hard work and effort is being put into getting things into place and running. We also have a brand new Systems Club called "BINARY' and Environment Club! Seems like too much enthusiasm and spirit that cant be contained inside classrooms, so we just end up opening new clubs so that we can channelize every source of talent that LIBA has got! ;D

Ohh that reminds me, my take on the juniors- and I am sure that most of my batch would agree with me that our juniors are really a talented batch! Its like an O-M-G Batch! ( Waah! I just gave the F12 batch a name! ;D Voila! haha) And I am not even exaggerating! Okay tell me how many of you guys have juniors who gave you a mob dance in their own freshers?! I mean we were Awww Struck! These bunch of smart pants chupke chupke organized this whole routine of mob dance while we were busy attending classes and organizing for their freshers and no one came to know a shit about it! WOW! And on the D-Day, when Nagesh ( our very famous MC) got done announcing with all the dance and songs ( ohh that reminds me.. the juniors know how to dance- the girls should get a special mention out here, Wattaaa coordination machii..! Superaaa! - F11 U better watch out for LIBERATED, coz you have some serious competition coming your way!), then all of a sudden the juniors came on stage and said that they wanna sing a group song- and how they sang- Brilliant! And then all of sudden- from no where- while we cheered downstage- there was a MOB! Yea just like that.. exactly how it happens in movies and YouTube!!

What spirit and what enthusiasm! I have no words for you guys..! We all had a fabulous night. And to say the least, it wasn't a freshers night that day, it was a LIBA Open Air Party!! and the DJ in the House where none other than the Juniors ;)

Ahhh.. now let me tell you about something really specific to LIBA. The next two events are really exciting and pretty new to LIBA. First would be the 'Buddy Program'. Here every junior gets to chose a senior to be their buddy ( by simply going and asking a senior they like or want to mentor them and feel can be around to help them out in any way they want). So ill tell you what generally happens and what happens in special occasions. Well generally, though you don't know your seniors that well, you end up being good or decent friends with your budd ( Unless you realize that you aren't really meant to be around each other that much :P you know what i mean.. ) And on special occasion, you actually end up going out with your buddy ;) ( we have had a lot of them who were rumored to have been going out with their buddies- this would put me at the top of that list! :/ and some who actually did go out and are still happily dating - God Bless you lovebirds :D <3)

Not that i am giving you fellas any ideas, but this is how its been so far, but since F12 have done things differently so far, who knows what they turn this buddy program into! :) - ( My personal advice to you guys, and also as TAS said - " Be single in these two years! MBA is just not the place to date, but then its my personal opinion ;) )

And now comes one of the most controversial yet awaited events of LIBA- The LIBA PREMIERE LEAGUE aka LPL

Well if you weren't here to witness the controversies of LPL, don't bother asking anyone what they where.. coz trust me you wouldn't understand shit :P

But to actually tell you what LPL is all about - well its just a LIBA version of IPL, with a twist that its not all about cricket but consists of a number of management and sport events. The format however remains almost similar to that of IPL, where teams on the names of different Indian cities are auctioned out for REAL MONEY and to everyone's surprise all the teams ( 8 in all - Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Cochin, Goa, Madurai and Kolkata) were auctioned for almost 1 lac ruppees!! The highest bid went for a some 18,000/- for Team Kolkatta.

Now as the games proceed, and as points are being fetched, things are getting heated up. Though everyone is busy with their projects, test and case studies, somehow we all manage to get some time for LPL. And to think of it, that's what its all bout, isn't it- Bringing us together? :)

And finally something from my life- to give this blog a personal touch :P
Ahh well we have these student exchange programs right? So the four of us- Abhishek Ganguly, Father aka Justin Joseph, Anisha Sequira and meee have been selected to go to Washington DC this fall. :)

We will be there for 3.5 months interning with an organization and also working on the MDG Goals set by United Nations. So though we would be missing out on some very important courses and events, but I believe that this is an experience which would definitely add value to our perspective if nothing else. Global Mantra as i call it ;)

Juniors in case you are interested in such programs, keep your eyes and ears open, coz you never know when opportunity knocks your door!

So that brings me to my last update of the night. Since i would be posted in DC for the next 4 months, starting August end, who would be reporting about LIBA? Well I thought that since no one has ever really recorded a student exchange experience in Pandora's, I will keep writing from DC, but if you feel that you can add more "masala" to this blog, then do mail me your updates and i will incorporate them in this blog :)

Welcome F12! A sneak peek for what is to come! ;)

Only a weekend left for the juniors to start their 2 yrs of "Mind-blowing experience" and yes MBA too.. so i thought i could give them a trip down the memory lane of how it was for us, just almost exactly an year back.

It felt like only yesterday, when I had landed in the Chennai airport and when me, mom and dad took the taxi to LIBA, I was still sleeping on my moms shoulder having a one eye view of the greenry around me ( I think I saw small hills too, don’t remember for sure, or maybe I was dreaming).

It was around 11am that we had landed and I wasn’t used to being awake on this hour of the day, so it was still early morning for me. Ohh and it was raining, so please don't forget to carry umbrellas with you fellas!

When we reached the Loyola campus, I remember that we had entered through the front gate and saw the magnificent church in front of us. She looked like a queen, standing in front of us. It was spectacular sight!

Then we exited and took the taxi to the back gate ( that’s where you need to go to access LIBA- tell the taxi driver to take you to Mahalingpuram – Loyola college backside, near Brownstone apartments). As we entered the Loyola campus and drove towards the girls hostel, I could see a few other parents and fellow batch mates standing here and there, looking as confused as we were about to be! We were after all the first inhabitants of the girls hostel.

So after a lot of scuffle and shuffle and with the help of Sudhakar sir (god knows what would LIBA do without him!) and a few other super seniors we finally managed to get settled. Me and my parents went shopping to T-Nagar for the essentials like bedding ( mattress, pillow etc), book racks, chittar puttar to eat and whatever our little hearts desired. After all, I for the first time felt that my parents were going to abandom me into an unknown land, where no one spoke any of the languages I knew (except English, but you get the point right? :P )
After a good meal with my roommate, her family and mine, we finally started to unpack and get to know the other “inmates”. I still remember how Ramya had given me a toothbrush coz I had forgotten to get one :P ( Thanks Ramya! :D )

So as the night passed by chit chatting and learning the first few tamil words ( my first tamil word was terunayii! And something else that I cant mention here, but trust me I used those two words like bread and butter.. only to be later told by some sweet friends of mine, not to use them- they are BAD WORDS! And I was ohkk… wasn’t that the point of using them?) anyways, confused by the ways of living here and language ofcourse, I somehow managed to get a hold of it ;)

So then comes the first big day of my MBA life! Wohooo..! weren’t we excited! Actually to be frank, after an year now, I don’t exactly remember what happened on the first day but I do remember what happened in the first few weeks! It kinda was the best first few weeks I could have, in a way.

Sight on a regular LIBA day!

Well the first thing that I got upset about was that all my new friends that I had made were in section A and I was the only one in section B. To add some spice to my childish behaviour, my entire class sat- boys on one side and girls on the other. – I was like OMG!! (Janice style- youtube Janice –FRIENDS-OMG, for demo). Come on, after having studied in the ohh so (in?)famous DPS R.K. Puram and 4 years in Mumbai, its normal for you to react in an OMG’ish manner on such a demarcation of gender. But as they say, don’t judge a book by its cover, now when I think of that day, I believe I couldn’t be more silly to have thought that my class was shy! Its one of the most hilarious, fun loving and helpful bunch of people I have ever met and I am sure I can without a doubt, extent the same feeling for my section A friends!

Trust me, if there would be one advice that I had to give you, it would be “ just because they don’t speak as much as you do, or vise versa, trust me, every one in your class or batch is a genius in his or her own way- Hats off to the LIBA selection process ( so to give credit), which not only takes academic and professional achievements into perspective, but also how one is as a person!

Yea coming back to the week, well I and most of us spent it discovering the ways and norms of life inside LIBA and more than that life OUTSIDE LIBA ;) (If you know what I mean.. hehehe)

Beaches, restaurants, pubs, crazy car rides, movies.. name it and we had almost done it in the first month itself. Thanks to some great company (Herbie gets special mention here.. after all, if it hadn’t been him, I don’t think I would have even thought of liking Chennai. He gave us a perfect start! Thanks buddy! :) )

And studies, well I will leave that to you to discover and figure out ;) But one tip for non commerce people- PLEASE PAY ATTENTION IN BFA CLASS!! Trust me, this is not the class you would want to be sleeping ! Rest I leave it upto you! You look like a smart bunch ;)

PAID HOLIDAY OF MBA- 'INTERNSHIP' - Excuse me!- I beg to differ.

We are extremely important to the organization. Read why!!

Have you ever had those moments where you are doing something and pop! There is a thought in your head, completely unrelated to the work you are doing or at least useless..?

Well that happens a lot with me, especially when I am in class and the prof is teaching, pop goes the thought in my head and I am like, why don’t the professors have a fashion session, you know, everyone should know what would make them look good. I mean what is the point of wearing your pants up till the chest, or rather looking like ‘Supandi’?( character from Tinkle comics).

Something like that happened to me today while I was just trying to wreck my head into the excel sheet that I had been working on for a week now, trying to crack some figures that I could present to the management. I thought, where did the word – Internship come from? :P

Yeah yeah.. I know. Very silly question.. but I kinda have a lot of these silly questions! ( ask my classmates, who have a facepalm reaction when I raise my hand in class :) )

So yea coming back to the internship bit, I think it’s called “Internship” coz it’s about entering into a big (maybe) organization which can be related to “ Battleship Galactica!” organizational structure. :P

OK yeah.. That was utter crap, but on a serious note, now that most of my batch mates are interning in various organizations across the country, I would like to question how important is it to have an internship? I mean being a member of the placement committee, I know one fact for sure that every member of the committee works his/her asses off to get everyone placed. But then is these two months in the organization really worth the students time and energy or can we make do without it?

From what I get to see of the Fb statuses and just talking to people in general, its like many of them enter the company with such high expectations – “ I am specializing in HR, and the project given to me would help me apply my HR skills, I am specializing in marketing and I will get to experience marketing, sales, branding, falana dimkana and end up being the best intern there ever was.. blaah blaah blaah”

But in reality do these expectations really get fulfilled? – Maybe Yes , Maybe No.

But incase it’s a NO, then why so?

Is it because of the fact that, we the students of LIBA are not well educated ( in terms of MBA knowledge) or is it because the companies take us for granted – that once we come in, we will be used to do not so menial but not so mba’ish jobs and then serve the company with all our hard work and perseverance, just to prove at the end of the day – that YESSS! I can follow orders! Wohooo! :D :/

Look, first things first- there is no doubt that we are taught well. So cross that option of not being educated enough, out. So am I saying that the companies that come to campus ( and mind it when I say campus, I mean most of the MBA campuses, not just LIBA) are hiring us to do clerical jobs?

No not really. Maybe a few.

I believe that companies who come into the campus do look for MBA’s as interns, but for them MBA intern mean a totally different thing. They want someone to collect data (majorly), data that would cost them money, if outsourced. So they pay 50% or less of the actual cost of outsourcing as the stipend, get the job done ( Yeah they know they job will be done, coz there is the guarantee of the college brand name->good brands= good hardworking students), or coz they want someone to agree with them that what their analysis of a certain decision has been, is correct. You know, we would act like human calculators, collecting, analysing data and then coming up with conclusions that would either starkly be in agreement with them, or the other way round ( and in case u are in the middle- then it’s a sure shot indication of the fact that a) you not getting a PPO- if they provide any b) you don’t know what the **** about what is going on )

And in case you thought that we were the first one doing what we are doing, and that ohh we are so important to the company then- no you are wrong for the first part, and right for the second.

More or less every project given to us, has already been carried out or is being carried out. So we are there to help them, but we definitely are not the first ones to start a brand new trend or invention.

So though I am not specializing in HR, given the opportunity, will I change how things work?

The answer would be – NO.

Why would I, when I am getting the job done in half the price with a person who guarantees me over 100% perseverance compared to the outsourced men?

I would be nothing but silly to not hire interns- MBA interns.

Then I believe we as students should lower our expectations of an internship. Should we??

With that thought running in my head, and the excel sheet waiting for me to get back to flirt with it,

I shall say tududulzz!

From the Centerstage!

When I was first asked to take up this blog, my reaction to Jo was – “ Me!! Are you out of your mind?! I hate this place.. And you want me to write about it on LIBA’s official Blog!?” to which Jo replied – “ Yes, 'cause I think you are the one person who is here, fighting it through, manage to get featured in ALL my blogs and still haven’t dropped out!I am sure when you write about it, it will have a heart in it.” ;)

Haha.. well who knew that I would actually agree to take this up! Lets hope that I get to give LIBA a new light, something that’s not been done before. Ohh and yea.. sorry for my clumsy first post, I wrote that in 15 mins. I was studying for RSM and yea… u know how that went! :/

So yea why LIBA? Why would someone come all the way from where I live to a) Chennai and b) Chennai?? (Trust me, even the DM of the company I am interning in currently, asked me this with the most astonished look on his face, let aside all my friends, family and foe).

To be frank the answer that I tell everyone is – “ Coz its Loyola! It one of the most prestigious universities of the South and yes India too. * The guy on the other side has an expression which says – yea right, but its not an IIM – Haah!” And my next sentence goes like this – Yea I know its not an IIM, but its nothing less than that. Its got superb faculty, a lot of exposure, loads of activities, great cultural mix and yes a more than decent placement scenario.” That kinda shuts the man up from asking further questions or rather reasons why my decision of choosing LIBA was not that fancy. At least for the moment. So now, the ones who are in LIBA must be thinking or actually gesturing as “ Hahahahaha.. Sure!” and the ones who are about the join LIBA or thinking of joining LIBA must be thinking- “ Really? Like IIM? Dude common, this is all fancy shit, all crap and no truth!” So yea now let me tell you MY answer that I say in my head, almost at the same time, as my mouth opens to give the above answer- “ I don’t know!” . Yes “ I don’t know” is the answer to the question why I joined LIBA. Trust me, I am about to complete a yea since I joined this college, in just another month and I still don’t know the answer to that. Afterall, I left my job in one of the top MNC’s of the world, amazing work culture, superb pay, friends, family, the kababs, Aiyaashi, everything. I gave it all up to come study here. After a year, I question myself, most nights or days when I am day dreaming ofcourse- “ Was it really worth it? Coming here?!” and pop goes the answer in my head to myself- YES. ABSOLUTELY”. And the voice inside my head goes- “ then why do you keep cribbing soooo much, almost all the time about being here!?” and then I smile and look around. Trust me, that’s like a involuntary action to that self generated question, lol. I smile coz I think and trust me I believe what I say next- that what I have learnt since I have come here, I don’t think I would have been able to learn anywhere else in the world!

I personally believe that MBA is not about what we learn inside the class, but what we learn outside it. And since I am either sleeping or ……. most of the times, during class, I kinda have no other option but to learn outside class :P ( just kidding) The people who come here whether full timers or part timers ( Btw – let me tell you, part timers are hawwtt..! and bloody rich! Just incase .. ;) ) have so much too share. Just sitting with them over a cup of coffee, in our very own self proclaimed five star canteen – LOHO or just chit chatting in the OAT. The gups ( hindi for time pass conversations) are over the top educative. You get to know everything from who is dating who, to where all you can go and chill in Chennai ( yes, please don’t make this HUGE mistake of thinking there are no places to chill here- trust me, it would give the next door metro a decent competition, IF you know where to go, when to go and most importantly, with whom to go! ). You get to know all sorts of information, theatre, music, arts, name it and people are talking about it. All you need to do is make sure, you are not one of those uptight ****** people who think that “hum toh hum hain, baaki sab paani kam hain!” ( for translation- please ask a hindi speaking person next to you, or google! :P )

Come here with an open mind, and you have the world to learn and experience. LIBA maynot be an IIM A,B,C…. X, Y,Z ( I am sure they are gonna open those in no time), but yes this place has taught me how to be friends with people who don’t speak your language, make mistakes that no one will ever let you make otherwise and learn lifetime lesson from it, sit and pray in the most beautiful church that I have ever seen in my life, and yes theories and way of education that more me is one of a kind. ( and yes, when I say it, I MEAN IT.)

So yea, all those who are already a part of LIBA and those who are to be, I am sure one way or the other, we all are proud to have decided to choose LIBA over the various other colleges that we got through, or not :P but still, the fact of the matter is, I don’t think there would be anyone who regrets coming here ( I mean common, if a total LIBA cribber can fall in love with it, I am sure anyone on earth could! ;) lol )

So good luck to all of the new joinees, and to my batch mates. Hope your internship is going good if not great! J Chalo, I need to get back to playing with my little nephew.. I will post sooner this time! ;)

Ps – those wondering about the placement – its good enough to make you whoop with joy, once you get the offer letter in your hand! :)

After a lot of succession planning, I got my first choice to agree to write here. The gossippy Pandora will be replaced by a more happening CenterStage now.. The Junie has decided to keep secrecy for now. Give us your feedback and we will definitely get better with days to go.
The junie just started. So give it time and encouragement...

Its almost time for the seniors to leave.. and also for Ms. Pandora to move head to achieve her dream.. So now who would be reporting to you the “latests” for LIBA!?? :O
Aaah.. since everyone was anyways busy with exams.. I thought I would be the helping hand here.. And let those who have been out of the loop for this term know whats been cookin.. all this while! ;)
So to begin with … hmm lets see.. LIBA term 3 for 1st years and the last term for the seniors, both the batches witnessed a lot of social drama, that’s the least I could say. The first years had an awesome batch trip to Banglore- Mysore and Coorg, what was more interesting to observe was the love that was blooming throughout this trip! We have some new and official couples and I guess this trip must have sealed a lot of hearts and feelings together, which were initially in doubt whether to give studies priority or love! Haha! Love finally got its well-deserved space! ;)
Now as far as the trip was concerned I hear it was fab! No actually to speak the truth, I witnessed it :D it was the best trip I have witnessed in my student life. There were songs, stories bonding from all over the regions. There were no tests to be worried about, no assignment submissions etc etc.. all there was was a lot of late night games, early morning “getting ready” and visiting a lot of beautiful places. It was truly a well bonded trip.
And then there was also the amazing adventure trip for the first years, to Pegasus, near Pondicherry! Now this was one trip where “TRUST” was instilled. I mean, that’s the least I can say! F11 bonded and learnt the true essence of team spirit. They were there for 3 days and were made to do physical activity tasks and strategic games, which challenged them to be their best while believing in each other. True OBL it was!
Now when juniors where having all the fun! Seniors where LIVING their last term. We could see a lot of groups de-grouping and Re-grouping and letting go of the grudges happening! It was afterall coming to an end, so whats the point of those frowny faces. They chose to smile and ohh yes they did! Most of the seniors as we could see, had planned their holiday trips to exotic locations ( read Kerela, Coorg etc) and as the fb pictures showed, they too had the time of their lives!
Ohhh there was Chrysalis on the way tooo..! how can we forget that! Though we didn’t have much seniors to help us through ( yes we were upset about it :/ but nevamind!.. its ok! Go have fun u guys, is what we thought! Its ur last term anyways) we did have a spotted few who stayed back to help the juniors! They could mostly be seen at the registration desk, making it look pretty and signing away certificates! So yes, in a way, full credit goes to the junior 360 degrees team of LIBA and the rest of the batch who coordinated some of the best games that business schools witnessed so far! ( as quoted by a participant from another B-school!). There were terrific performances from the participants as well as from the event coordinators side. Kudos to all of you guys!
And then there was POWERSTAR – did he make the days brighter or was it just his charm that reflectef through the whole OAT! He afterall renamed our college to “LAYOLA Insitute of ….” Now that requires some serious charming, people! No kids’ task it is! Haha.. and we also saw the very famous Kotler and troop dance with the Powerstar himself! To say it was extremely sporting of him and the others to go up on the stage and perform with him- just for LIBA! Hats off to you all! :D
And then as we all had our share of mastiii and rigorous class schedules from 8am to 8pm, and soon... it was time to bid the seniors farewell!
And what a farewell it was! Nicely organized ( though there were some social glitches in the middle) but two people – the Egghead and the Markit chick together organized a well-orchestrated and much applauded farewell. The theme – “ENIGMA” truly did bring about some enigma, when some drunken dory couples where seen. enjoying in front of the Library! ( Whhhatttt.. !??? We also witnessed a pretty controversial awards ceremony, which left a few confused, a few super happy and a few pretty upset! Come on now how would you react if one gives you an award for cross-dressing! Hmmmm… well with that thought lurking on our minds and a sunken feeling that actually it’s time for the seniors to leave.. ( today being the last day for most) , we the first years hope that you had an awesome time here, coz we surely did with you! And you have been the best seniors that we could get! Seriously you all would be truly truly missed (aaahh someone pass me the tissue-box please!), coz we just didn’t make contacts, we made best friends for life here!

Life in LIBA is coming to a close and we’ll all be parting pretty soon. Each one going our own ways, profession, cities, etc. etc. Well here’s a small bit for you all to remember when we’re all long gone.

Hmmm now where do we start from? Alphabetical order seems good, or should we follow a degree of controversy ranking? Nah .. Let’s just talk about a normal day at LIBA.

First things we notice on entering the canteen are two people sitting and eating thayirr saadam (curd rice) n bhindi (vendakka) usually. Thickest of friends is what we think they are. One argues with no reason or point and the other is a silent killer. As outgoing as they seem, they do make life fun for a lot of people here in LIBA.

After passing them, we go straight to get breakfast coupons. OMG..!! what do we see here? Ans: A loud thunderous voice saying… “Annaaa Poooori” (comes first and is passed on to a girl with a halo on her head) and then “Annaa Dosaaa” (comes after 15 mins). By the time dosa reaches the table, the poori is over.. We wonder how?

Next escaping from this entire crowd, for a breath of fresh air, where does one go? Ans: Near the window. And what do you see – transporters Mr. Bean with his empty car and Salman Khan’s action packed car. The reason we think for this differential is that after the crash test, the old car doesn’t seem to pump as much as it used to anymore ;) or is it because Sallu bahi is working out only his biceps at 99F. Is this why Sallu Bhai misses his TT practice these days.?

Moving away from this scene, just outside the canteen we see the “AR Rahman in the making” boy on his bike competing for the same transporting business. And just beside this, thin Vijay Mallya, with his Canon DSLR searches for new Kingfisher models. We do know that Mr. Mallya personally interviews all his models, and we wonder if our own Mallya does the same too? He also has another side to himself- philanthropic activities with half the diameter. Now is this what we call split personality disorder? Wait whoa… The boy who bought Dosa and poori is walking away carrying a bag now and following him is the soft spoken “holy” girl. After two years we finally found out that they are just good friends.

Further moving into the OAT we spot many interesting permutations and combinations. Our Azhagiya Tamizh Magan having a conversation; irenically oops sorry for the typo- ironically* :P. Guess they are planning his upcoming wedding with the girl who visited him during LIBArated. On the other side, there’s an awesome threesome. :O Guess if he has lost his cruise control after their entrepreneurial venture with pollution masks. Talking about entrepreneurship “He came, he saw, he left the college”. The team and investors seem to be tracking him down. Kya picture abhi bhi baaki hai?

After this we go into the library to the stack room to finish up some work for an assignment. We stumble upon the Alto’s brand ambassodor making plans to promote his tagline “Let’s go in an alto”. We wonder what is the purpose of the stack room.? Is it for learning or some bonding happening with books or over books? Talking about assignments, the “imommy” seems to have an upper hand with all her presentations. Is it because of all her i-products or her honorary membership with Scribd.com.

Tired, we go to the common room to get some water. OOH., we see a Crishnan with his new Samsung galaxy S2 phone. Wonder where he bought it from?? Or was it a gift? This gentleman has also converted the common room into a dining hall under the pretext of studyin with an 8 point someone :D. His friend, “Milky bar” has been dealing in a lot of “activities” recently, which has resulted in the misuse of the Economic Times. The proof of which was found out in the room of the “boy who plays shuttle with his phone”.

Then we hear a sudden laugh outside in the bike park. Sin(v)/Cos(v) screaming at the top of her voice assembling her “gym-team”. One DANGErous gentleman wondered “whether its bout fitness or matrimonial sites providing them feedbacks and suggestions”. Whatever it is, it is quite a sight to see the results emerging. ;)

After a long day we come back to the hostel. Sports fever is back but looks a lot dull this time because of an additional badminton court at the girl’s hostel. We still see coaching sessions happening. Last semester means trips also. We recently heard about a trip to yearcaud by the “tu mera hero boys”. This song seems to have become a hot favourite now in the hostel playing alound especially during their drinking sessions.

Valentine’s Day just went by. We smelt a lot of love in LIBA air. The B11 boys made trips to Bangalore, Khadar Nawaz Khan road, Azuri bay, EA and one of them ended up going to church also. Guess who went where. We also got intelligence reports about double date activities at the Hilton hotel. The self proclaimed “Single girls” went on a consolation dinner too. Are they really single? because we see them often mingling with a lotta people :) .

To conclude on a serious note. Its raining marriages and engagements at LIBA. We wish all our forward looking boys/girls good luck. May God’s choicest blessings be with all the couples.

Here is a parting message from the B11 boys. “We will miss you all. Let your light shine, and make our college and nation proud. Those who feel like crying please get a tissue paper, and those who don’t please go cut an onion”

Things are moving fast in this part of the world. The vacation saw 3 people get commited. The insight technical guy who committed into marriage, this year's vital committee Cordinator and the CTS girl who is leaving for the states this month, in engagement . Wow! We seem to be faster than our senies. Congrats guys! :)
The moon flower boy of f10 has come out about his girl finally. Pics can be found on facebook for the curious ones. Seems the story is 7 years long...
(F09 is also catching up. Marriages are happening left right center.)

Meanwhile, the celebrations are at a swing this time of the year.
Junies had chrispops and chrismoms who made each other's Christmas and New year special for them. Gifts and tasks were exchanged and given to everyone. Seems they are already practicing to give tasks to the F12 batch coming. :P
The postponed Libarated on 21st of the month. Although the theme is the same, the excitement seems to have died down. Organizers listening? Will that 70s night be black and white?
Pongal celebrations unlike last year, due to time constraints, is only for half a day this year and the "Pongal boys" have taken it onto themselves to make it a big success.
The ELA [extra liba activities] organizer has taken up yet another program for our social initiative wing. This time a lot of trees are going to get planted and taken care of.
The cocoon is getting ready again to slowly transform into the butterfly. It is that time of the year again. A group of enthusiastic ones are working on both online and offline events this year.

The couple formation is still in vogue.

The cat eyed girl is seen spending a lot of time with a guy. Even thoug they maintain they are just friends, the smile after that could mean something else.
The 'knight rider' (or so he would like to be called here) made a small scene on facebook saying it was finally official with the 'american indian babe' in his own words. People wondered if his lady friend was an american indian by any chance.
And the "blue legged" girl of past also seems to be going on steady with her beau.
There are other couples who are lying low to come out at the right moment. Keep guessing who!
And as the 2nd year is coming to an end, the serious couples are seen hanging out together literally all the time. Good luck to them. :)
There is certain 'milkybarish' tendency to some of the conversations that happen around. Wondering if the milkybars sold these days are crushed!
A certain outsider was seen touring the campus with the 'tamil cry baby' recently. "Just friends" reply seems to be the only thing other than smiles that she could give when pandora inquired about it.
The 'baby' seems to have a crush on somebody in the batch. But somehow, teasings were taken in stride by both of them. So, it could either be a yes or no. :P

The KD of F10 seems to have decided not to go for the exchange program because he didnt think spending money for it was worth it. He should have let the other students try and get through who would have gone for sure. And the other one has already left. She is Delhi for a week for the VISA processing and stuff.

The exchange students are already here for the sem. These bunch are from again france, germany and mexico. There seems to be a buzz in the ladies' lot of liba about one of the exchange students. He is considered cute and worth a shot by a lot of girls here. The committed ones, please hold onto your girlfriends tight :P

On a lighter note, Anybody Interested? :P

The graceful lady is back from her Yatra. Her yatra is supposed to have made a big impact on her life. She met entrepreneurs and even people who had quit secure jobs to do community service for life. Hope our some of our junies go next year and have fun and gain exposure.

The Mother Teresa Award function saw 6 corporate teams presenting. CTS, HPCL, Hindustan Zinc, MARG were among the teams. The student jury had 'father', the chery girl, the vedanta boy and the robin bird.

One of our lady faculty -Guess who!-has let her hair down literally this year. Students were surprised at this sudden style change. Most of them are still trying to figure out the reason for this style change. Any guesses or revelations?

The ladies hostel is finally blessed with LAN and that is thoroughly 'exploited' by the inmates. Wonder if the establishment and other charges, when they finally come, will make casualty admissions in nearby hospitals for fainting.
F10 has also decided to enjoy the last 3 months thoroughly. Beach parties, ladies' nights, outings... Most of us would be students for the last time in our lives.

And like an online year book,
Pandora will soon start a profiling of the 10-12 batch in the blog so that the batch, world and our alumni can come to know about the batch better. A lot of our batchmates have businesses running and awards that never were given much PR. I think it would be great if we knew each others' strengths better before we leave. And it would certainly be a good platform for you to promote yourself ;)

Btw, Pandora has finally found a successor who will write a guest post soon. Wait for it.. :)

Gossips + Events + Super Seniors + The Hunt!

The Vital committee member with a British accent has been trying on one of the exchange students for so long. Calling her for Pondy trips asking out.. But my reporters tell me that he has had no luck yet. But then, he does not seem to be the one to give up. Keep trying ;)

The precious stone girl is seen hanging around in the campus and outside it with a certain junior, most evenings. Coffees and Nescafes.. Has Obama been left out?
No. Obama is seen hanging around with the Musk Deer. But Musk Deer claims that he is just a good friend. So both the precious stone and Obama on different roads now?

Liberation has been postponed due the love affair between the circle and rain. :( It is said that events organized by the circle is jinxed with a curse from the rain. Incidentally, girls of LIBA has given '33%' reservation to guys in 'talking nonstop' event. While 2 girls took away the first and second places, third was given to a guy. ;) But the celebration went into the form of liberation in rain. After all the noise they[we] made at the OAT, a visiting faculty was seen dialing the authorities' number. This sent all of those who were liberated, running for cover. But yeah, liberated or not, we celebrated :)
So, the Circle members informed it will be in early January.

Well, the one who wrote here before me previous Dr. Love, went and silently got himself engaged. Out of the blue, FB carried his Roka pics and then the engagement pics. Yours truly interviewed him for a juicy gossip only to find that it was pakka arranged marriage. :( November 6th is the engagement and next year would see them getting married. After all those gossips he wrote about everybody, we could not find him putting the toe out of line.
The lady Love who is going to decorate his heart, designs interiors and is his Fate from now on. ;) Well, best wishes for your love filled life Dr. Love! ;)
Incidentally, someone's, [who was his best friend all through the life in LIBA,] likes and comments were present in absentia all the way. Go find who! :P

The biggest event of campus was a success this year too. Core team was seen running around on phones and teams to get things done. Good work and Insight team! Cheerz!
The 'Numbers People' of campus had their share of glory when their conclave found space in the pages of major newspapers. The noted point was that, it was a ladies' army leading the clan.
Espire prelims happened today and was organized by the Ecell of the college. This time, we see more initiative from the juniors' side. The next rounds as usual will happen soon with TieCon.
The mindfulness of leadership is also on the way. The Exec Lady is taking care of that event. We do have a lot of events happening all through the sem eh! :) This year’s theme is Eco-Innovation: Time to Wake Up!

The One in the four of the 'Mallu gang' who has a secure future, was found family planning, some days after securing it. :P How many years till marriage, till this... till that.. He is all set for future it seems. ;) What when how why...

The search [rather hunt] for the Pandora of 2012 has begun. The stage is all set. People who are interested to carry on the legacy, mail me an exclusive scoop which portrays your creati-witty, humor and nose-for-news skills. :) The hunt has begun! Beware of repercussions of writing here btw :P

I know you are saying 'Long time no see'. But yeah, writers' block. :D

So, here goes!

Gossips

Reports were confirmed that Ted talks has asked an ex student cum entrepreneur to speak for a whole 18 minutes' duration and the video will be available on Ted talks from next month. For people who didnt still get who he is, the one who slept and wanted to be called a biatch.

The common room sees some couples [ those that have publicly confirmed and those that deny anything put forward ] during the day and evenings studying 'seriously'. During and without exams, this pattern has been observed by many a reporter. Wonder when there will be more for Dr. Love to talk about from the common room. ;)

The blue legged girl of past, and her 'politically ex' we[a]re seen together in classes these days. When inquired about whether they have gotten back together again, the guy decided to wonder why he should tell anyone if something is there. But the lady made a statement that it was not him and someone serious this time around. And for the readers from Dr. Love, the guy is off campus. ;)

The super senior pair, mallu boy and the hyderabadi biriyani, by the latest update have drifted apart.

The junior 'end of the night' [as many of the batch mates identify him] and the junie girl apparently have drifted away from each other. This change was visible after the recent long vacation. The foreigner seems to have lost interest and so has the girl. Or was it just a communication gap?

The Washington boys are having a hell of a time now. Incidentally, the JLL intern was gifted something really controversial before leaving by his friends aka the 6 packer and the tall one. Go figure! :P

The 'official' photographer was seen sporting hickeys some time back. He still has not divulged who is responsible for it. Neither did he try to defend when asked if it could be an insect bite. My reporters contemplate that it could be a junie [from the lot he frequently interacts with] who is responsible. :P

The financial controller of the student firm, is still recuperating from her rendezvous at the hospital. She will not be participating in the fashion show of the liberation movement of the campus this year to the disappointment of the senies. She is consoling herself being the coordinator of the event this year. Apparently, there is a run for money when comes to leg injuries and girls at our college.

Events
The biggest event of the campus was decided to be cut short to a 'single happening day' by the guides with insight. Although this will cut out the final celebration time too, as declared by the father of the event, when asked about the final hulahoo. Lets see the 'brighter' side. No expenses for 'celebrations' this time around. Lets all just celebrate BOP.

The liberation of both the batches are set to happen this weekend. The junies seem to spend time during evenings to practice. Good going guys :) And all the best.

The Diwali this year saw celebrations starting with a Pooja and crackers. Fortunately, nobody was hurt during the celebrations. The girl with the track record of being burnt every time she went anywhere near a cracker, this time chose to stay far and watch. With a leg injury [and a blue plaster], she was anyways not going to be in a position to run around with things. As usual, the Phoenix bird was her helping hand shooing away trespassers with crackers. For those who didnt notice, the bird and her had a short period of 'misunderstanding' and the bird had hanging around with the tattoo girl and 'the circle' head. The pair soon made up the differences though and are back together. All izz well!

The Diwali celebrations also saw the two Rs make up their 'differences' as informed by one of my reporters. For those who missed the bus, they had their differences for some time. Now, all izz well again or so it seems.

During Onam celebrations, more names of guys came up than some of the lady nominees for the manka competition. Yours truly had some 300 nominations to filter from, obviously spam included. One of the junies confided that he was sitting and punching in one name for like a 100 times. Crushes could make people do things eh? :)

The God's call this year found some 'ungodly' people attending it. Apparently talking while someone else talking [the usual communication problem] infuriated the messenger. This in turn resulted in some very 'visionary' FB statuses. The story goes that, most of those 'ungodly' ones have decided not to attend any more of those calls.

Obama received a gift from the precious stone [like last year] and he wore it two days later, to affirm he liked the gift. Well, are they back together? Or is it 'just friends' again? :P Dr. Love does nt think its just friends. Obama's budday songs this time were all sung with three girls' names in it. The precious stone was one of them.

The tall guy confronted Pandora one day recently, asking her 'why did you take a pic of my diary?', about the pic in the previous post. Well guys, clarifying that 'it' was a diary entry. :D

A certain girl in the juniors, whose name has both feet and moon in it, has been liking a certain junior boy's pics left right center, as pointed out by the official photographer of the college. While the bias is evident, the girl denied that it was because of any particular reason. Hah! Too many sentences start with such seemingly unimportant 'no reasons'. :P

The Golden girl and Light boy were spotted in a theatre [drama theatre actually] recently [some days back] enjoying the show lesser than each other's company. Dr. Love felt good to see the love in blooms. :) Incidentally some of their gang friends were with them too. But the main attraction for them obviously was each other. Do we hear any other bells? ;)

The vital committee member who was making a lot of appearances here without meaning to, was reported to have a crush on a senior mallu this time. Incidentally, his car and attitude is what she likes the most. The black.. Well, Pandora will not give out too much information here. :P

One of the Rs was spotted sporting a kickey with an H. Well by witnesses reports, not one, but three kickies were 'sported'. Littles people make big impacts. Aye? The bigger ones carry the results around. Incidentally, on Janmashtami celebrations, the little one was seen scolding the other for stripping his tee off. Apparently, he was trying to get 'heads turned', that turned a single head and started a single scolding.

Some '99 people' are getting a lot of revenue from the health freaks of the college. What with personal trainers and loads of money, by the last count, 25+ people from the senior batch alone were visiting and working out in gyms. That is almost 1/4th of the batch. Wonder when the bug will bite with the same ferocity, the juniors. Incidentally, the super seniors have been complaining of lack of time and reasons for any form of exercise. Taking a leaf out of these books would help. [Mostly the '99 people' :P ]

Janmashtami celebrations this year, saw the record unbroken. This time too, the peacock boy had the honors to break the matki and F10 were the winners. Cheerz to F10 [again] ! The enthusiasm of the juniors was not any lesser though.

Some of the super seniors [The designer and a small gang] had chosen to meet up in the college the same day. The common room stood witness to the get together.

The basketball team of the college showed high spirits during their match with another college on the 'inaccessible by girls' grounds of the campus. Though initially the girls were worried whether they would be allowed to watch the match, two brave ones [ the finance controller of her own company and yours truly] walked into the ground filled with an ocean of guys and started cheering the team. Soon, a bunch of our students joined the cheering team.

Rain stopped the game with 8 minutes to go and the cheering team had to leave unfortunately. The game restarted for the 8 minutes later but as one of the Spartans put it, 'they snatched defeat from the mouth of victory' by losing for one point. Nevertheless, the spirits and team dynamics were really good. Incidentally, the opponents decided to show off their anger like kids. One of our team members showed me a bruise mark from the pinches they were instilling on our people. Nevertheless, our team gave back as good as they got. ;) Good job guys!

Faculty unfortunately failed to make it to this edition. :P

Couples + Gossips + Vital Committee + Faculty Gossips

Well well well.. yes, a lot of things passed by while Pandora kept wondering when to open the box again.
So, for a quick update, the blue legged lady and her guy [ politically her ex :) ] are no more together. After all the gossips that they sent around, Dr. Love is sad it is over.

New couples [well, not really new. But older ones who came out in the public.]..
The junior who shares his last name with a senior CR, and the girl who shares her name with another senior are together. Most of the time seen in the library whispering to each other, they are seen together even outside it at other times. ;) All coochy coochy coo..

The fraud mallu from delhi and a real mallu were seen outside campus having walks and coffees together most evenings. Well, though both of them vehemently denied and repeated the phrase 'just friends', Dr. Love finds a cupid's arrow somewhere in the scene. Well, that also lead to laments from some junior girls that said 'Oh, the last of the good looking guys is now gone! What do we do?'

The second in charge of the vital committee left the course some days back and the thought was running in his mind from the internship days. His company seemed more important to him than the completion. He has personally been a headache to yours truly. But, was good at contributing [mostly through swearing at very unexpected moments] to the vital committee. Coming to college in his home clothes was the latest [and last] hobby he pursued during his last days on campus. BTW, his leaving lessened my source of gossips to nearly half. [Either he was the reason, or he was the source!] And he left a lot of memories in a lot of minds [mostly girls] before leaving.
This has also saddened another vital committee member. Guess who! :P
Also, now settled in the garden city, he seems to have asked for a raise owing to all the extra expenses.

Two vital committee members from the junies have been an item for a long time now and have been demanding to be put up here from like the start of the year. Here you go! :P

A certain vital committee member is now called 'joey'by the pupil of [his] eye. Am sure two people are gonna murder me once they see this.

Talking about the Vital committee, the corridors of the Vital Committee seems to be silent these days. Or is it the silence before the storm?

The Rs have finally moved from describing themseleves as 'just friends' to something more. See how the meaning of 'just friends' is really not 'just friends'?

A data card has become a 'vested interest free' loan between two financial prodigies of the senior batch. Apparently, as the 8.5er realized that the girls hostel didnt have net, he offered his data card to this JR favorite. And that too free of cost and vested [oops!] interest! Wish yours truly were the JR favorite too. :P

Welcome Back Bumps!

The girls had tattooed a certain heartthrob's name [that is what he is called in his friend's circle] on their wrists when he had gone on leave owing to illness. Typhi as yours truly calls it. Also the warm welcome he received when he returned was captured in stills so as not to be forgotten!

The Washington DC guy surprisingly has lost a lot of weight [not so much of a surprise if you remember even he was attacked by typhi] But some are speculating if it is his move in getting ready to 'feel the west'. ;)

The Phd exchange student left on the 19th and this must have created an impact on the hostel's assistant warden and some hopeful guys [whom I am not allowed to mention the names of, for 'prestige' sake].

Merc Match : Another vital committee member has finally found her match from Merc. Dr. Love wishes their drive in life be Merc style! :)

A toast to the great batch!

The faculty who dealt with communications for the Senies threw a party at the end of the course. The Sunday became a Funday.

A Tribute to another professor by generations. A blog that has been commented on, by generations of students indicating how wonderfully a professor can deal with classrooms. Students were planning to sneak into one of his classes just because of the word of mouth advertising happening from his students. His course ended some days ago. And Facebook statuses about him flooded every Liba-ite's wall. Sheila will be missed. So will be Kotler and the Nadi kinare coffee. :)

Even faculties are making it into Pandora's Box! Hah! :)

The finance specialist who did his schooling in Deoghar, finally got to be friends with the doctorate exchange student. His friend has finally done the vaadha nibhaofying. The guy is rumored to have a girl back at his home town which obviously is not a hindrance for his social life here.

The sleepy headed guy, aka the biatch [yeah, he wanted me to refer to him so, from now.] gave me a personal scoop and said he was just 'good friends' with the KPN buddyship. Pandora should actually put up a list of all those 'good friends' at LIBA. BTW, this is the right time to go at it if you like this sleepy.. oops! biatch. He is ready to mingle, he mentioned during the scoop.

Also he is staying outside campus now that rules were broken frequently.

Incidentally, Pandora had requests from people to defame them. I had a guy who bugged me [enough to pull my hair out] to defame him. Pandoras is not a place for testing your EQ.

Tanhaai has been bugging the TTS intern so much that Dr. Love wishes some girl gives him company soon or we will have more poems coming our way!

Pandora ran across a senie [who wishes to remain anonymous] having a crush on a junie. Speaking of the success rates, the 'senie girl-junie boy' couples have not seen much day light in our college in the past. 'All in good time, shall be revealed' was her only words.

Talking about senie-junie relationships, the senie [also known as 'bro'] is together with the junie who shares her name with the girl's hostel assistant warden. There goes another buddy relationship that has reached 'levels'.

Dr. Love has found two 'R's together most of the time from the juniors - mostly on the fountain in the evening, or the car park. Incidentally, they are also 'just friends'.

Break Free happened last week with the collaboration of the circle and the enterprising club. Games, quizzes, prizes, and fun filled the days. Incidentally, the enterprising club is looking out for a name and all of those creatives out there, send in your entries.

A place in the college has been termed the 'kuttichuvaru' by the jobless frequenters of it. Also known as the jobless wall, it is usually filled by first years and second years who have nothing to do but socialize in the evenings and during break hours. Yours truly frequents it too. Who knows how many couples would form there on that very chuvaru in months to come!

The Nagarcoil guy and his Dearness Allowance are seen having a good time around the campus. It has been some time since they have been going around now. Both of them are from the same place.

Our former dean is back to college to take 'his subject' again. But he wont be taking back his former position.

A musical night revealed the unrevealed sides of our faculty. The communicative professor was the MC for the night and she rocked the show. Another faculty, also responsible for the vital committee, sang solos with full spot light on her. The reporter, who is also an ardent muZic lover mentioned that it was one of the best voices he has heard for a long time.

Freshers' Hot! + Gossips + Events

Freshers' day witnessed a lot of 'developments'. A group of Junies realized 'It was their life!' that night! Songs were sung for the occasion and dances, danced. Hope you guys had fun though! :)

Purple day - A junie with a crush on another decided that 'Action spoke louder than words' is the best way to express his feelings. So, the first time he saw her, as she was wearing purple, he proposed all who supported him wear purple with him. And so, a day came when campus was flooded with purple. Unfortunately for a prof, she also wore purple that day. The junie was good enough to thank the prof for the support. :P
On freshers', the junie took her aside and was reported to have expressed his feelings in words. But my sources tell me she finished it 'amigo-bly'.
A song has also come to be associated with the incident, Jabse tere naina.. And the junie sang it for his crush on the Freshers'.
But it seems the Nainas of a lot of other guys are behind her.

Some of the juniors [ 7 to be precise] already confessed that their crushes are 'WIP' [work in progress!]. And until some results come up, keep speculating who those juniors are!

Some seniors used the freshers to flaunt their lovers. The drummer dedicated a song for his love. The little lady, and the forever girl also had brought their lovers to campus. Dr. Love is happy for all of them. Incidentally, Pandora was informed that two senior guys are in the process of getting committed in the 'traditional way'. We will have too many treats to attend as soon as the course gets over if this goes on like this.

There is a 'NEW' Tamil couple that has not come into public yet in the senies. The only clue is they both have an 'e' in their names. :P I am not allowed to divulge more about this. The reporter was adamant about this. But it is easy, strike out the one without Es and when you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains--however improbable--must be the truth!

As was predicted, the buddy program is showing symptoms of becoming more than buddyiship in some cases. The KPN buddyship, has it taken higher levels? Has the bug bitten either of them? Speculations are going around the campus about this.

Juniors also seem to have an affinity towards breaking bones and injuries. A guy with the name of a bird injured himself playing TT, after the bike accident another had and a soccer accident yet another had before that. Pandora also came across a Junie who had no clue what or how he injured his hand. This was the day after the Freshers.

Breaking news!! : A junior has been taking entrepreneurship to an altogether different level. However no clue is being given out here considering the integrity of this blog. Right information will be be disclosed at right place at right time. Till then "keep it clean", Right guys? :)

Insight is BACK again! Bottom of the pyramid is whats up. Everyone's bottoms will be back on fire too, soon.

Couple Special + News + Rumors + Gossips

On 'popular' demand, [ahem ahem!] Pandora is back with news! :)

Couples, some were made and some were kaput during internships. The effects were seen after the senies were back from interns. Reasons? Well, some may have just realized being single works better. Or someone else.

Dr. Love found that the blue legged lady of past and her guy are still going strong contrary to many speculations. The representative couple, have been too, if not closer. BTW, a certain 'Jacton' celebrated budday some days back.

This was supposedly a couple special. And pics were approved by some of them. But not all were comfortable with sharing pics. So, here goes the pics of those who are ready for public appearance and a mention of those who are not.

The sleepy headed guy was not sure if he had a gal friend. The silent tamilian couple was uncomfy about putting the pic in. So were the representative couple. The phoenix bird decided not to spill the beans now. And the one with a royal bike decided to remain subtle about it. So much for couples in the senie batch!

Guess who did that^! I heard a precious stone scream right after it broke and fell.

Insight ball is already rolling. A past speaker’s niece is heading it this time. This time the ball has been handed over by the professor with insight earlier than usual.

A wolf’s pack made another wolf’s pack perform at spring last week. The sleepy headed guy after all used his head. Sources told me that the ascent was pretty good.

Junies have given up with signatures already. Two days and they have lost enthu. Btw guys, if you expect us to give signature on the 11^th hour, you are not receiving any! Mind it! And yes, please make sure you at least know the name of the person when you approach a senie for signature.
I also was informed that a prof lamented that the junies do not have the ‘spring in their steps’. Junies, are you listening? Say your say!

Incidentally, junies make sure you grab your buddies from senies soon. Or all the good ones will soon be taken! This reminds Pandora of the ball in the fourth year of the harry potter series.

Committees and clubs are already interviewing peoples of the junies of the LIBA. The important committee this time had 3 rounds, the last round being on Monday. Also a mention of the slow down in the economy on day one has brought down the morale of a chunk of senies. And junies, make sure you make the most in LIBA and the clubs here.

The new gals abode has a lot of fun ‘Just like that!’. At the expense of [in a way] of the junies. At night, when it rains, rain dances happen ‘just like that!’ Ah! Pandora loves informing the tradition in forming!

The major course revamp has given scope for adventure. Literally. They also have one subject more each sem. The scare of an oral exam [not dental] adds to the load. Sources informed me it will include all portions from the first and second year. And you cannot appear for finals without crossing the orals.

Some junie gals came inquiring to the senie gals about senie guys who are 'eye candies'. Eye candies? Really? Guys beware! :P

A couple in super senies, a down to earth couple who never made much of a fuss while at college, are ready for the alaypayude fuss. Dr. Love wishes them good luck and hopes everything turns out well.

Incidentally, no form of bribing except grades will work if you dont want me to write about you on Pandora's. :P Many people approached the writer asking if they could be left out of news this year. So far, No way! :P Also some were eagerly asking when would the writer write about herself. Well, guest posts are welcome! After proper checks, they will be published. :)

IPO + Junie News + Girls Hostel + Gossips

Our IPO has been interviewed by the Indian Express and the four of them are already celebs and viral on FB. Article attached for those who have not seen it yet.

Meanwhile, I also heard the senie 'trainer guru' has gotten his successor for the post "trainer guru" from the F10 batch. Speculations on who is the next one, end up on some six packs. ;) It was reported that already 5 people have 'enrolled' for the training. Junies, here is your chance and guru. Make sure you use it well. ;)

The junies will arrive by June 5th and get settled in the hostels by the time we senies reach. Both the batches are getting to know each other at Facebook and chats.
Incidentally, one of the junies had a doubt regarding "what to call our profs". The junie's options ranged from names [oops!] to mams/sirs. But I also heard he has tasks waiting for him on account of this. :D

A lot of thoughts about switching specializations are running around in the minds of the interns. From 'Duals to cores', to complete changes of streams. Apparently, this happens every year after internships.
Some 'interns' are using the internship time to get ahead in their enterprising skills. Something keeps buzzing in the ear all the time.

Sources told me that the new girls' hostel has an "in time", "SILENCE time" and a strong wall + iron gate. And we all thought Servite was worse! Girls, hope for a hostel warden with some human element. Having Loyola girls as 'hostel mates' was not completely unexpected. Or was it?

A little scope for thought before signing off aka Gossips -> The super senie girl, with the name of a nut stays at the boys hostel till 8 in the evening 'TT-ing'. TTing or missing someone special? ;) Who knows!

Also the 'Golden couple' from super senies, was seen exchanging courtesies on FB. Are they not in touch otherwise? After 10 comments on 'why here', there was a reply that sounded like "am here. just the same and no searching of anybody :) :)" Is everything alright? :?

Are our Junies really having a welcome party all for themselves?

Maiden Post From the Junie

First of all, Thanks Chaitik for passing over this legacy to me to continue bugging our LIBAites with.:) It was and is still fun learning how to write in here from you Chaitik! :)

Hello everyone from the 'first years', the soon to be the Seniors!
I am the Junie Blogger and taking over from him from here. It is amusing how just yesterday we the 'first years' came into LIBA and today we are already doing our interns all over India and waiting for the juniors to arrive. Was just a yesterday we all introduced ourselves to each other over and over again till names stuck. Hope all you out there are having fun doing your interns, wherever you are. I am glad I was chosen to do this. Hope I do justice to this.

Now, my small "Terms And Conditions"

1. Gossips are Gossips. They are either widely talked about or widely whispered about. They are not the secrets you tell me. If you still dont get why your story is here, it is because it is talked about.

2. I am looking out for stories all the time. So, if you have something, mail it across to juniorpandoras at gmail dot com or just tell me in person. Your identity is safe with me. But I will make sure your story is right before I publish it.

3. Pics that tell a story are always welcome. Send them to me and they will be on. It could be anything from an outing with your own gang or a funny moment or anything amusing that brings a smile on faces.

4. Personally I am not much of a gossipper. So, that defect will always be seen. So, please bear with it.

5. Take the posts here in that spirit. Dont take any of it personally. And it is NOT my personal view about things.

Day 0 - I sign off!

We won! we won! We won! For Sachin and for India (After all superpower Rajnikanth blessed the match with his presence)

I was meaning to write this post on the last day, but the goodbyes and the travel and the match made sure that this post is posted from Mumbai!

One year has passed and I realized I gossiped more than any girl in LIBA. What an achievement ;)

As I write this post, a plethora of memories flood my mind with 2 yrs of sheer madness. Unknowingly, this blog became one of my closest memories in life@LIBA. It was fun to write every post on this blog. Thanks to my "secret reporters and spies" who fed me with news from every corner of the 'world'. But the real secret of the gossips has been that a huge part of it came from the readers of the blog itself. Since many gossips were too personal to be featured on the blog, they had to be filtered out. Will never forget the fun in playing around with the names of real characters at LIBA.

Apart from gossips, am proud that Pandoras Box - "the unofficial blog" became one of the faces of LIBA to the outside world as well as a medium for the seniors to stay connected with life@LIBA :)

Not keeping this too long, thank you everyone for encouraging me and double thank you for being their sporty best when featured in the gossip sections of the blog.

About the new author, I would like to say that there would not be a better suited person for Pandoras Box. Most of you might have already guessed the author's identity by now. Am sure the Junie blogger will keep up with the legacy! All the best! :)

Lastly, I hope that someday after LIBA when you open this blog, the posts will serve as a flashback of our glorious days.

Here is wishing you all the best with all your future endeavors. Stay Happy, stay healthy and keep gossiping ;)

Day 4 from the Junie Blogger

Day 4

A small update from the Junie Blogger

The US president's lookalike is hanging out 25*7 with the precious stone girl. Solitary walks and everything. Making the most of the last days at LIBA. My spies were eager to tell me about this.

Two 'single kids of parents' have been seen together from Beacon times. They were seen together almost always but Farewell was the time when they confirmed they are not going to leave each other's hands. Literally. Symbolically? Go figure!

Exams going on and all the First years are looking forward to the silver lining they see approaching by 31st.

The Junie also came across 2-3 Entrepreneurs from the first year. Inspiring!! One of them has already got people working for him. [More details soon!] The other is on the way to patent her products and I heard talks for large scale production are going on. She was also one of the reasons the first years had to sit through the "IPR" classes of USR.

Procrastinated a 1000 times, now the 'hostel allotment ceremony' will be held only in June. The fear most first year girls [soon to be second years] have is that the 'soon to be first years' will be alloted the good rooms before we return from internships. Right now, all we get is a big room to keep our stuff and leave for interns.

Summers have achieved 100% placements and the vital committee members were seen congratulating each other.

The D-Effect theory seems to be a hit among first years. But the effect on this batch will be confirmed only after the interns.

The Yearbook 2009-11 distribution has finally started and from what I hear, it has lived upto the expectations! People are just loving it. Hats off to the hard work put by Nikhil and the Yearbook team. That surely required some selfless efforts :)

Day 7

Am starting today's post with theory that has been developed by the great Bartender turned Rockstar turned Bartender turned Director turned Bartender turned MBA grad :P

The theory is named the D-Effect theory (by the inventor himself)

This theory is applicable to all 240 full time students of LIBA.

It says that cupid strikes 3 times during the entire 2yr duration of an average love inclined soul at LIBA.

1st Term
3rd Term (with summer internship extension)
6th Term

There are a lot of facts and figures to support these claims. Pick up any "We are just friends" around you and they are more likely to fit into one of these categories.

Disclaimer: The above time frames hold true only for the first sparks that fly between the cupid struck. The love might intensify or get realized or get declared in public later.

Dr.Love says "Good news for the 1st years: If you have missed the 1st term strike, don't loose heart. The 3rd term summer extension and the 6th Term will make sure everyone is happy!" :)

And the reason this theory has been put up on this blog is because of the credibility and the experience of the inventor on the soils of LIBA.

The Farewell

The farewell for the great batch of 2009-11 was on Sunday, 20th March. It was one hell of a show! The grand red carpet entrance made sure the mood was set for the evening. The original I.P.O. performed for the last time and made sure it set the hearts thumping and the audience jumping.

And yes, the nariyal awards were a hit amongst everyone for the sheer 'uncovering the hidden stories' act :D

Lastly, it all ended with Ms.LIBA and Mr.LIBA awards that were given away to Lis and 'yours truly'! :)

I would like to end this note by thanking the juniors on behalf of all the seniors for giving the awesome farewell and most importantly the time that we all would cherish for a long time now. Thank you! :)

Am ending this post with the world cup fever. Its all around and everyone is set for one of the greatest battles on the field - India vs Pakistan. What better way to end the year! Many of us have an exam on 30th from 3-5. God bless the prof in correcting those papers :) Goodnight!

Day 12+Flashback+ Revelations

Day 12

Today is the Farewell day for the great batch of PGDM 2009-11. The day brings back all the memories of our seniors farewell and how we used to say "1 year more..." And here it is.. like zip zap zoom!

Happy about classes getting over and not so happy about everything getting over!

Snapping out of the sentimental mood, let us talk colors! Its been all over the place.. LIBA.. LIBA Hostel.. LIBA hostel rooms etc. And the first years spared noone in the LIBA hostel (with a few lucky exceptions :P). They were all roaming around like pink panthers since 12 midnight. The smart ones who guessed what was coming quietly locked their rooms and did not respond to any tring tring or knock knock :)

The celebrations then shifted to car park in morning and everyone had a colorful time there.

The theme for todays farewell is "Red carpet". And this has got the girls more worried than India's budget or Japans nuke leak. All kinds of permutations and combinations are being thought of and the dress to wear has been the center of any discussion in LIBA.

However, there were some moans when the theme was changed from Hawaiian to Red Carpet considering ease of dressing in this hot weather. Looking forward to today's evening :)

Flashback

The farewell of our Dean, Dr.Gowrishankar, Prof. A.C. Fernando and Fr. John Alexander was celebrated in LIBA hostel few days back. It was a time to go back down the memory lane to all of us. But what stood out was the words of the dean when he said that 'We need to be more student-centric' Instead of talking about the good ol days he spoke strong for the students. *Clap clap*

Wishing all the best to the professors for all their future endeavors. They will be missed! Hope they remember their bright students ;)

The dinner time was even more adventurous when all the students literally climbed over each other to be in a "Q". The more patient ones ate their deserts first followed by the main course. Group dinners with a truck load of hunger are always fun ;)

Yearbook

Thanks to the constant efforts put in by the Yearbook team, the yearbook has been sent for printing. And it will be in our hands on 25th March. Also, the 1 minute video shooting is almost near completion. This makes me wonder what happened to the batch photograph :)

Its Official

Yes! It was reported on this blog first but then the "victims" denied it. But now it is Official! We have got a new couple in second years. Dr.Love says "Last, but not the least". Hint: Both are famous amongst us. And am putting their pic below for you to guess who they are. Open for comments :)

From the Junie blogger again.. for all you gossip hungry people, here is more of gossip and less of news! LIBA is indeed a haven for Dr.Love. Enjoy Maadi! :)

Two junies were spotted with some 'Bites' around the college, the girl trying to hide it with her dupatta and the guy, collar. Dr. Love saw it the days both appeared. But waited to confirm. While neither is acting like it is what it is, my spies confirmed that it is what it is. I am not putting in names here or clues since it is a bit 'controversial'... Go find out yourself! The interesting part was, after a day or two, they didn't even mind hiding them. Round necks ruled.

The blanket girl of Kodai, [that is yet another story. But, its old news now.] is still not back from where her birthday party led her to. Get well soon and see you back soon!

I also heard, the guy who had a 'crush on a girl' [in his own words] apologized for acting weird and has stopped pestering her for now. - Good for him!-

It raised an eyebrow of Dr.Love when the Mumbai girl changed her joining preference from Mumbai to Chennai. Hint: The girl was featured in one of the recent posts of the Senie Blogger :)

The "Fathers favourite child" gets into news again. Not for any stunts in LIBA hostel but stunts in heart of a girl from the city of 'Taj Mahal'. He got a nod from the girl to talk to her father for the marriage proposal. Marrying or not, the response definitely boosted his confidence which now makes him stay awake all night. Coz 'Citi never sleeps' :P

The "degree holders" had a celebration dinner the other night. Or so my informers said. They did barbecue some chicken and eat them.

Matches were being squeezed in between breaks for every game as the sports events were still on. There was also an incident of a very "sporty" senie swearing the hell out for losing to a poor junie. The women's basketball and throwball games were rough it seems. Too much of pushing and pulling and pinching and kicking brought the adrenaline high. Men were surprised at the roughness of the games. Why should boys have all the fun ;)

The 'bundle of energy' and the tallest man beat the precious metal girl and the King of senies in Badminton finals. Eyewitnesses tell me, that this not only excited an enthusiastic bunch of F10s but also a group of 911s who were praying for the junies like true mates. There must be another story behind that though. Also, my spies caught a senie being kidnapped by the junies to cheer for them.

The exchange students from our college have been finalized and the list been put up. The lucky ones are getting dollars of monies to visit their yaya lands. And probably do some studying too -or working - . :P

The past two-three weeks were so hectic, the junies have already started looking for the end of the sem.

And senies are already counting down and making the most out of the 15 odd days they have here left. The number of masti outings have increased exponentially in the past month.

Soon we will miss you guys.
