In our household the sissors are scacred, and if used must be returned immediately to the kitchen drawer, for fear of ones life. If they are ever discovered missing and immediate all point bulletin is issued and search parties called in.

Yesterday, the sissors were reported missing. Fortunately I had nothing to do with it, so I wasn't concerned. Then after repeated reminders that the sissors were missing I started to get an uneasy feeling that I may have been the last to see them.

As I thought about it more this evening I became sure that I was in fact the last to see them... now where did I use them?

That's right, I used them to cut open the brush cutter box yesterday, before doing the lawn. Now where was I... in the garage. I immediately headed for the garage and looked on every flat surface I might have laid the sissors to rest on... all except one.

I went back in the house and thought some more. Where else could they be... then it hit me, there was one 'flat' surface I hadn't checked... and I'd driven the car once or twice since yesterday. Oh my... but I have to look anyway.

So here you have the scissors somehow hanging onto the back tyre of our Nissan Patrol. I'd been out in the afternoon, driven to the local shops 3km away, up hills, around corners, over speed bumps... but those sissors had held on. Thank God :)

Ended up having home made pizza there for dinner (yum) along with 2 of my favourite things. Chocolate milk and Samboy BBQ chips :)

Last month Elijah taught himself to swim, he hasn't worn his floaties in the pool since. I'm glad we didn't spend money on swimming lessons ;)

He watched what his cousin was doing (she has had lessons) and copied. Then in about 10 minutes he was swimming on his own.

This is him doing his favourite thing... jumping in and either swimmer back to the side, to an Adult or over to the other side of the pool.

I shot it on a Vivitar 6200w, which apart from its underwater capabilities is the worst digial camera I have ever used. I seems to have been designed in 1997 when nothing of modern digital standards had been figured out.

The camera is Elijah's first, he got for his 3rd birthday. It was very cheap at $179, waterproof & tough... which is why we bought it. Lucky too, he literally put it in a bucket of water within 10mins of unwrapping it... and that was before we told him it was waterproof =)

I'm explaining the Photo A Day thing as I shoot.

We used to have a company 'Fusion Creative' together. It started in 1997 & we wound it up in 2001. Between us we did just about everything that can be done. Design for print, signage, web, billboards, cd-rom - Web & Cd-rom production, Photography, Video, Audio - 3D prototyping, animation - Illustration hmmm what else... we'd even design & have built portable display systems when clients asked.

Anyway we both wanted to head off in our own directions & do more of what we loved... and less of everything else. For me that was Photography, for Matt that was 3D. These days he has a business 3dviz that does stunning work.

We often talk of the amazing things we could do with my panoramic photography & display technologies & his 3D work. We come up with cool ideas... but we're both too busy to spend time on them. Hopefully one day.

It was a good 2hrs... they also had the most amazing spring rolls before & after & some of the best orange juice I've tasted ;)

On the way out, knowing I needed to get a shot I grabbed these tables set up for another function. Later on Michelle saw the raw images and said she thought they looked like miniatures. So... I decided to really make them look like miniatures. I know, I know... the effect is bit tired now... but it is the first time 'I' have used it :)

The effect is surprisingly simple to do... it only took about 5 mintues to figure out a quick method & do this shot.

The kids loved'em.

Later on I found them in the Birthday girls bedroom with the lights off shining the torches around and having fun. I braced the Panasonic LX-1 against the door frame and shot away at 4 second exposures. The results were surprisingly solid & free from camera shake.
