Grampians Road below Mount Abrupt where torrential rain in January 2011 caused a landslide which closed this road for 10 months. This panorama was taken shortly after the road was reopened with a wide gash in the bushland giving evidence to the extent of the damage.

Mount Victory Road just past the Elephants Hide rock formation with views of the Wonderland Range and the Stoney Creek valley. Heavy rainfall in January 2011 caused a landslide at this location which forced a road closure for about 10 months.

Another view from dalmahoy hill taken on the eastern edge of the hill. on a sunny but freezing cold day. although the field in front of the hill was frozen it was still very wet, a great place but care should be taken if you walk there from balerno as i did, as the road to it is quite busy and has no path alongside it.

Another view from dalmahoy hill this one taken with a 20mm lens rather than the 10mm. as i said a great place but care needs to be taken if you get there on foot, a busy road plus a very swampy field in front of the hill, best to use the ordnance survey map of the area to help you get there.

Taylors Lake with 688 hectares and a capacity of 36,000 Megalitres is part of the Wimmera-Mallee Stock and Domestic Supply System located about 18 kilometres south-east of Horsham. The long and narrow lake is used for boating, water skiing, swimming and angling. Golden Perch, Murray Cod, Redfin and Yabbies can be found in the lake.

The church of St Mary Magdalene has existed since at least 1140 when it was used as a fortified post by King Stephen in his wars with Matilda who held Wallingford Castle. During the Civil War it was used by Cromwell's men to shelter from the Royalists (there are cannon ball holes in the vestry door to prove it!).

St Leonards is the oldest church in Wallingford and has Anglo-Saxon work in the walls. It was partially rebuilt after Cromwell's model army used it as a billet after the Civil war. Today it is in a quiet backwater of the town.

St. Peter's Church, Thames Street, Wallingford stands at the bridge entrance to the old Saxon Burgh on the eastern side of Wallingford. It is best known for housing the grave of Sir William Blackstone, the famous judge and author. Its pierced spire dates from 1777 and there are Morris windows inside It is a redundant church owned by the Churches Conservation Trust. Opposite is Wallangford Baptist Church.

From the Missionary Ridge we are overlooking the city of Chattanooga and this part of the Tennessee River Valley. It is a historical area from the Civil War. The Battle of Missionary Ridge was fought November 25, 1863, as part of the Chattanooga Campaign of the American Civil War. Following the Union victory in the Battle of Lookout Mountain on November 24, Union forces under Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant assaulted Missionary Ridge and defeated the Confederate Army of Tennessee, commanded by Gen. Braxton Bragg.

This is the view from the Gornergrat, the top station on the Gornergratbahn cogwheel railway, opened in 1898 and the highest open-air railway in Europe and which climbs 1500m from the town of Zermatt. At just over 3,000m it offers a view of more than 20 four-thousand metre peaks, including the famous Matterhorn which can just be seen here above the left hand observatory dome, and also the Weisshorn.

Ironbridge Rowing Club on the River Severn as it flows past Coalbrookdale through the Ironbridge Gorge in Shropshire. On the far bank are the characteristic pink cooling towers of Ironbridge Power Station at Buildwas. Until recently, coal supplies arrived via the Albert Edward Bridge, also shown. Because of inefficiency and the pollution caused, the power station will close in 2015.
