The white sands have been on my photography list for more than 2 years. Coming from the Midwest, when we see white we think cold.
It was nice to be surrounded by white in a t-shirt for once.
A highlight for me was the last day when we entered the park 90 minutes before sunrise.  The only way to get in this early was to pay the Game and Parks.  We parked the car and hiked in 1 mile to a place we had scouted the day before.
Once we get to our location and setup, we wait!  I’ll never forget how peaceful it was, it’s completely dark but your eyes have adjusted to see just enough. The moon is doing it’s thing but the sound of NOTHING was the most powerful.
I have always been a person whose mood is affected by my surroundings or environment.  This plays to the most important part of my style.

I’m not sure why, but how come we keep getting all the fun weddings to photograph? Megan and Brandon met in grade school and have been love birds ever
since. We appreciate them allowing us to be a part of their fabulously fun wedding day and we wish them the best on their newly wedded life
together.

Wait for it!  Wait for it!  The title is “We Need More Beer”.  I have nothing to do with naming this print but there is a good reason for that.  It’s extremely rare that I have friends with me when capturing a new gallery shot.  I was riding with four of my childhood friends when one of them said, “Papek, take a picture of that”.  The credit goes to my friend, Dan, who suggested the shot.  Good thing I didn’t screw it up!  Since he found the shot he deserves the right to name it.  We were actually heading to the liquor store after a long day of pheasant hunting in South Dakota.  After retiring the shotgun my new weapon in the field is a camera.  “We Need More Beer” was taken outside of Redfield, South Dakota and only 50 of these will be printed.

This is a perfect example of why consultations are SO important. When meeting with Kate and Traci I knew within 5 minutes this was a wedding I had to photograph and thankfully, Kate felt the same way. Kate’s wedding theme was color, style and BLING.  I’ve had this crazy of idea of photographing a bride on top of the bar at Baby Blue Sushi and it had to be Kate.  Thank you to Baby Blue Sushi, Kate and Traci, you’re the reason I love to photograph.  Take a look at her bouquet!

What a beautiful wedding and ceremony! Missy and Jared’s wedding was held at the Magnolia in downtown Omaha. The look and the feel felt like a vintage Hollywood movie.

Beautiful, elegant, and just plain fun is the best way for me to describe Jordan and Jason’s wedding day. If you ever run into them make sure you ask Jason how he proposed, it’s a great story!

Meg and Nick’s wedding was elegant, stylish and a blast.

Rhysa and Nick have busy schedules as they both attend UNL pursuing degrees in the medical field. These two are the real deal. They’re in love, fun, smart and really grounded. When planning their engagement shoot at the Sunken Gardens in Lincoln the priority was to capture the personality of the relationship.(see chest bump below)

Rhysa and Nick are getting married in Montana early next year and I’m honored they chose me to document their wedding day.

When parents contact me to photograph their little ones the conversation alwyas starts with “we want to do something different”. That makes sense to me since I don’t know the proper way to pose people anyway. There’s my secret, I don’t know how to pose people! The only thing that matters to me is capturing the spirit of the person in front of my camera. Charlie is full of spirit. Hit read more to see pictures
