Berkeley, CA based illustrator and printmaker Rigel Stuhmiller’s Etsy shop is a paper lover’s wonderland, filled with an amazing variety of wedding invitations, custom letterpress business cards, and block printed art in styles that range from vintage inspired to whimsical. The interwebs have been buzzing about Karen O’Leary’s papercut city maps, and with good reason. These maps are absolutely amazing! And she cuts them all by hand, which just blows my mind. The map of Paris, shown above, has truly made me look at those little fold up maps that you buy at the gas station in a completely new light. And the map of New York City, well, you can see in these detail shots just how spectacular it is:

In addition to Paris and New York City, Karen has also created a papercut map of London and amazing pen and paper prints of Paris. You can see all of the maps right here.

I can’t stop looking at the work of artist Lena Wolff, who uses paper cuts, collage work, and pinpricked paper detailing to create art that is almost otherworldly. I love the atmospheric tone of her work, which to me is especially amplified in the pieces featuring dark, rich backgrounds, and Lena’s veneration for nature comes through in her inclusion of beautiful organic pattern and wildlife. Valerie Jar’s 2010 Forest calendar features a different (and adorable) forest creature illustration every month and is available in both horizontal and vertical orientations. I love where she went with the color palette, too:

I love the concept behind Postal Press’ 2010 Specimen calendar, inspired by their love for nature and vintage botanical prints. Trim the dates off the bottom after the month is over to transform each month into an art print:

Pretty patterns decorate Cat Seto’s 2010 eco-friendly desk calendar, which is printed on 100% post consumer waste paper and comes with a reusable wood block holder made of reclaimed lumber and featuring a hole for your pencil.
