The 2007 edition of Rally Japan will welcome 85 crews to the 14th round of the WorldRally Championship. Amongst the teams, the three Constructors' Championship 1 contenders (Ford World Rally Team, Citroën Sport and Subaru World Rally Team) and the three engaged in Constructors' Championship 2 (Stobart M-Sport Ford World Rally Team, OMV Kronos Citroën and Munchi's Ford World Rally Team).

The event will also host the Production World Rally Championship contenders (PWRC).Of interest is the amount of Subaru Imprezas and Group N Mitsubishi Lancers which make up a large part of the grid. Taking up 69% of the list, both Japanese manufacturers are well represented for their home event.

Star Wars characters

his guy made some Star Wars characters based on Clone Wars TV series.

He did a particular very nice work on General Grievous and Yoda, but all characters worth!

Come on, check his work.

Once inside a character page, you can check some screen shots from the 3D model and a picture of the assembled model.

And yes, you can download the model! The last link before ‘Top’ and ‘Back’ links points toward a JAR file, which contains PDO file(s) and some images.

You’ll need Pepakura Viewer in order to open PDO files.

Samurai Paper Theater

Paul's closed theater on the upper left, composed of curves, upper right, the card nearly finished with the original moving card designed by K. Takayama in red seen on table behind. Below left, the finished card open revealing the warrior inside. On the bottom right, the little theater seems illuminated like a real stage.

Forgive me a personal pleasure Paper Peeps, but today I must feature my husband Paul's newest creation. Truth be told, it's his brand spanking new Art Medium of Choice. He takes his collection of Japanese Samurai art and images, composes them, cuts them up and creates moving, dimensional pop-up paper diorama with them. This is an exciting development for him and an incredibly satisfying exercise in creative expression.

He loves all things Japanese, especially Samurai (likely having been one himself at some distant point), he loves all things paper, he loves all paper pop-up designs. Put them all together and well, you get... Goooooooood times.

This one sits enticingly partially open on a shelf in his office. Neither one of us can wait for his next one!

I've been off the map while Matt has been posting some great stuff! I actually just had a baby boy two weeks ago, and the day leading up to and after his birthday were very busy!

So I'm back to start posting more often. I know I post Rob Ive's new stuff with regularity, but this seemed appropriate today. When will my (now completely immobile) child get to do some fun paper toys with mommy? Sooner than I might have though. Rob Ives' new little books with baby animals tell a story and have a very simple paper toy to go with it. Check out his site for the new books!

You may also want to check out Phillip Fickling's books- he has two kid's book with this same concept. I've posted about him before, but thought I'd refresh your memory since I think it was a couple years ago.

Mary has send us this picture we really like. Since the tag-line of this website is 'Paper coming to life', we are really thrilled when sometimes it seems to actually happen! We haven't still figured out the story of this particularly picture, but we are sure it want's to tell us sómething. And with the hypnotising sky and the mind-boggling title 'When universes collide', it sure keeps ús awake at night.
