I case'd this card from Melissa Stout's blog here. Hers is flawless, but I'm a bit of a sloppy stamper. I didn't have the right DSP, so I stamped the medallion from Days of Gratitude on lucky limeade before punching out the pennants to make the tree. Hope you like the card!

Delivery was fast. Chairs are preassembled. Wobbly leg was an easy fix with a cabinet bumper and I love my barstools. Great value!!

WEll, I finally got myself a Big Shot. I love the sturdiness of it and the fact that I can use all the SU dies that are available. This one is the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and I thought it looked pretty much gorgeous on its own, so I just made the tag to go on it and decorated the inside a bit. I actually CASEd this layout from the catalog. I really LOVE the new in-colors this year. I especially love Pear Pizazz which is featured in this card. Hope you enjoy the card. I grew up really disliking hydrangeas because there were two huge bushes in front of my grandmother's house that were always FULL of bumblebees to my city slicker child's mind. Now I love them and marvel at their different colors and varieties. This stamp set is one of my favorites. If you don't have it, you need it! I used Retired Creamy Caramel, retired French Filligree, and the Top Note Die for this card. I cased it from the Hero Arts blog.

I gave myself last night to work on one of my favorite challenge sites, Stamping 411. Here's the latest sketch challenge: I inked up my new SU rubber (With All My Heart.)

I made a background paper using the flower images from the stamp. The colors are Choc Chip, Close to Cocoa, Melon Mambo, and Pretty in Pink. Don'tcha just love the SU color names???

Today is my LAST day of Winter Break. The Steelers play today at 1:00 and we hope for the stars to align in just the right way to get them in the playoffs again. It's too early for football to be over for me.

However, I must say, that Drew Brees is a hottie. I could become a New Orleans' Saints fan in a pinch! Enjoy your Sunday!!

We did an anything but a card swap for December and I'm finally posting the ones I've mailed. I still have 2 to mail (sorry girls!). I'll get my butt to the post office in the morning. Anyway, I got this idea from the resource section of splitcoast. I was happy to use my binding tool to create this as well as some retired SU papers. This was a fairly simple project to create. You just tuck your cards into the pockets for each month along with envelopes and postage, and you're ready to go for the year! I hope the ladies will ike these!

I thought I could use this card as a thank you for Thanksgiving dinner at my sister in law's. I used Stamping411's great sketch for this week. It really makes a pretty card I think. Hodgepodge Bavarian Birthday

I was playing around with some red embossing powder I found in my closet and created this hodgepodgey card. I so love this Alpine Ribbon from last year's mini and am getting around to using it. I always feel like I don't use my materials enough. The problem is there is so much CUUUTE stuff out there that I have to have. There's just not enough time in my day. I believe that if I had a dedicated stamping space, that would change. What's your experience with that? Anyway, hope you like the card.

We are having a white elephant silent auction at school to support our hospitality committee. Yup! That's what it's come to.... :) HEre's my contribution. I'll contribute these cards and envies and try to bundle them cutely (pretty sure THAT'S not a word.) Maybe I'll even drum up some SU business! Here's my card for the latest Stamping 411 challenge. For the last challenge, they did a surprise prize and they drew my name!!!! I'm so excited! I won an SU stamp set Beautiful Blooms that I've been wanting!!! Yay Stamping 411!!

I was happy with the way this card turned out! I think it's because I love this set so much. All products are SU except the rhinestones.

The DSP is Bella Blooms.

I made the background paper with the focal image stamp.

Hello readers! I have a favor to ask. We have a new Trader Joe's in our area and I think the best source of info is from customers. Since you guys are creative, I assume you enjoy good food.

What have you tried at Trader Joe's that you love? I have a short list here to share with you.

I love the:

pad thai (in a Chinese food container)

spaghetti sauce

CORN SALSA (tomato-less)

CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS (in the freezer section) recommended to me by a french couple that I met These Are AWESOME!!

Nut cookies

My kids love the chocolate kitty cookies (they are low fat)

I like the Shiraz ($3 a bottle)

Trendy Trees and Bonus Hummingbird

This hummingbird came to our empty feeder yesterday and then flew to my window and looked in
as if to say, HELLOOOOOO.... There's no food, here. I decided to make my own hummingbird food. Dontcha just love Google? How did we ever get along without it?
s/he was back and forth all day. To me, seeing one is like seeing a shooting star! I get so excited every time and it is so fleeting.
I love the sketch challenges over at Stamping 411. The ladies
over there are so talented. Lots of inspiration to be had...
I love a nice simple sketch.
My thinking of you card is what I came up with. I used Trendy Trees and Chocolate Chip DSP from way back. The ribbon is SU as well!! It's from the alpine ribbon collection that was offered in last year's holiday mini.
The ink is Basic Brown and Kiwi Kiss. I wish SU would bring that color back, don't you? Shelli, are you listening? Check out the challenge and have a great week!!

Stamping 411 Sketch for July 25th

I'm trying to use the new SU in colors to figure out which are my favorites. These are the summery colors. I used a sponge on the daisies, using Baja Breeze, Melon Mambo, and Crushed Curry. I also did a sponged resist on the middle layer.
