Flatware and Cutlery

How many sets of flatware and cutlery have I bought, used and abused over the years? I can't count how many. I don't own a really nice, beautiful set of luxury flatware and cutlery. So, it is about time I invest in something stunning for my table and guests.

Just about every time I am out and about shopping, I end up stopping for a few minutes in front of the boxes of flatware at the store. Just standing there, staring at all the different designs. But nothing every catches my eye enough to make me really want to hand over some money for them. None of those boxes of sets are ever quite what I am looking for, let alone good enough, nice enough, and gosh darn it special. Remember the affirmations from SNL? But I digress.

When I buy my grown-up set of flatware and cutlery, I want something that absolutely everyone around my dinner table, banquet table, luncheon table, or naughty little saucy girl afternoon passion party is going to rave about! I want the finest of the fine, the most gorgeous, the best of the best quality and designs to die for! But nobody every better drop dead after one of my gatherings.

PayPerPost has just recently been ramping up the paid opportunities listing, more to choose from and a little more money coming in.

We haven't seen the nice fat pay-outs like we used to, but every little bit helps to build that extra monthly income.

As of now, PPP owes me $42 and I try to keep adding a little to that everyday. They pay within 30 days of your post being approved for payment. So, as long as I keep grabbing opportunities and adding to my ppp bankroll everyday, that little extra will just keep filling up my PayPal card.

The above little $3 bit should come in handy when milk goes on sale. I can't look at it as gas money today, as my car is still on the kaplink. Drats.

Never started using scales until I was 38 years old, old and growing. Luckily I never really needed to. Alas, my metabolism is slowing and I am growing, sideways. I actually like to see the number change every now and again, but only when it goes down.

In the last 20 minutes, I have managed to snag three paid posts in a row.
Maybe it's because it's Friday night, maybe it's because they don't pay very much and no one else wanted them, maybe it's because I have no life and maybe I am only writing this quick note because I have to have a personal blog post in between paid posts. One of the coveted paid blog posts that I almost always miss, this time I snagged it!
Perfect timing too. I just finished blogging about a little extra monthly income by blogging and surfing. Well, after sending off a pina colada to my facebook friends . . . . . I resumed my surfing and refreshed my PPP (pay per post) website opportunities listing and the beautiful green bar of availability was there before my eyes.

I grabbed that sucker so fast and waited as my cable modem communicated. YES! I got it. Sometimes other bloggers manage to lock on to the links. We all click like mad on the open paid 'ops' and it's a waiting game of seconds before we see if our computer grabbed the link first. I suspect it is because no one tried to click/refresh the open ops list at '12:08'. I have learned that particular times of the day is when PPP gets a little slower to refresh and react to my mousie clickies. That is because all of us bloggers have learned standard times of day when they (may) have an automated system that releases advertisers paid ops onto the board list.

My strategy is two-fold. I hover around my computer on the standard PPP times, but also, while I'm bs'ing around on facebook, my other blogs, email, etc.....I have several tabs open to surf for change and simply 'surf' PPP tab to refresh it every few seconds or minutes or however short or long it takes me to get over to that tab. That means many several times throughout the day, I get to see that list refresh various paid opportunity posts and many different odd times.

I have grabbed $20, $25, $10, $15, $5 and mere pocket change link paid 'ops.' But it has been a while since I locked a $17.50. May not sound like much, but these ad up and help pay my internet cable bill that I am so fond of :-) and helps to put gas in the car. I love blogging anyway and love (maybe too much) being on the computer and surfing the internet. So, it tickles me to get paid a little to have a little fun. Besides, I've never subscribed to World of Warcraft, I think I am still in the safe zone of internet addicts . . . . . . . . .

Extra monthly Income

I am cutting corners right and left to reduce monthly expenses. I unplugged the cable box and dragged that $15 xtra per month monstrosity to the Charter downtown office. When I walked in the door and there were already other cable subscribers there.....the clerk gave me a somewhat sad look. I assured her, "I'm not canceling. I just don't want to pay extra for this thang anymore."

She was nice and helpful. She pulled up my account and pointed out another area where I could reduce my bill and still enjoy our regular programs. My bill went from $109/mo to $88 from now on. Woo Hoo! I told her she's my new best friend.

Other ways I am reducing the outpouring of cha-ching?
1.)I don't buy paper towels anymore. Just use rags and wash them in the machine along with the full loads I need to wash anyway. If it weren't so disgusting, I probably wouldn't buy toilet paper either! It goes so fast and adds up so much. But, I can't very well live like a Sasquatch!

2.)I buy less meat and I'm feeling lighter anyway.

3.)I clean house with ammonia and stop buying those "made for every other purpose" cleaners.

4.)Driving less, 5.)less on-line shopping, 6.)no more buying used dvds for the shelves at home, 7.)old microwave finally gave out and I haven't replaced it for months. We just heat stuff up the old fashioned way.(but I really want a microwave!)

I could probably think of many more ways we are finding recently to save money. On the flip-side, I am bringing in a little extra spending money to further help ends meet. I consider it help with the gas money and goes toward the internet cable bill, I find sponsorship support with paid advertise posts on my little blogs. It doesn't pay much, but it adds up. And I found another sponsor that pays bloggers to post advertisements on their blog site. Although, the paid opportunities by them are few and far between. I have yet to get my fingers on one through 'blogsvertise.'

And, since I am on the computer anyway, I keep many tabs open and surf the sites. The change just keeps adding up over and over. The surfing rotation of sites provides my blogs exposure to all the other surfers that have joined these many traffic exchanges too! Here is a list of paid-to-surf sites that I am loyal to, some others I have cropped off the list that have turned out to be questionable in business practice, or others simply went out of business.

If you have a website/splash sign-up page you need to promote - I highly recommend free traffic. You have nothing to lose and subscribers to gain.

Cheap

The top .50cent post has been open all day.
No one wants to spend time writing a 100 word post to advertise on their blog for a cheapskate.
Hmmm, ok, maybe too harsh a word. But I wonder what the other bloggers are thinking.

Nearly every evening at 9pm there are fresh opportunity listings. You can count on being glued to the computer for a bit because all the bloggers are trying to snap the open ops.
Usually by 9:02, if you haven't managed to grab an op by your good graces or by your good cable speed (forget dial up and dsl, we'll beat you out every time), by 9:02 and you haven't grab one for yourself, you'll see a sea of grey.....'all spoken for.'

Here, you see the first el-cheapo is still open all day, and the other one is still open as of 9:25. Sure, we can add up a little change here, a little change there and get some gas money. But that is what they're counting on. You can see, one of the .50centers is at least only a 25 word post....reasonable. It only takes a minute to post a 25 word blurb for pay. I have grabbed several of those myself because it's easy and it is money that does ad up, eventually.

I am hoping the other bloggers are thinking along these same lines, "If we all hold out, and none of us give in to the measly scraps their throwing our way for (but they want our valued written word out there on the internet on our own blogs) - they better get the hint that they better step up the offer!

I have slacked off on trying to grab as many paid posts as I can, but times are tough and I better get back in the groove.
Buuuuut, I have noticed a new trend the past few days. Looks like advertisers are scaling back on their paid offers.....hmm. Used to be you could count on a minimum of a $5 payout. Now, check this out, they're going as low as 50cents! bummer

Have been out of the posting-loop for a bit with the very lame, waste of my part-time-time, life sucking deli schmuck job.

That is all about to change, the pittlings of spare change of a paycheck there was really not worth it- other than, I FINALLY met the LOVE of my LIFE at the deli counter. For that, I shall be eternally grateful. We are moving into a bigger rental, we're getting married and we're scouting around real estate. I blab and blog all about my guy on FalconSays.

Oh yeah, and I landed a $5 ppp a minute ago.....whateverrrrrr

I am welcoming myself back to my own lonely little blog. Have been away from my blogs for a bit because I started a new p/t job. Didn't take into account how energy sapped I would get, even only working p/t.

The arthritis is killing me. By the time I get home and rest for just a minute, I can hardly get back up on my feet, my ankles feel like they are going to explode, not to mention my lower back, my arms, elbows and fingers and my knees. The pain has been so intense, the last thing I want to do concentrate on blogging.

Anyhoo, I'm trying to get back in the action, and coming up is a quick little paid post. See ya later.

Learn something new everyday.

Today I learned, never leave the house between 5-6pm. Unless you don't mind missing out on a wad of paid opportunities.

Gimme a break, I'm a little extra cranky this evening. Ya, waa waa waa for me, right? I've been up since 5:30 this am. Ok, I'll shut my pie hole now, that's nothing to bitch about.

But I have been surfing all the live long day and juuuuust when I step out front for about 5 minutes to talk to a neighbor, I come back in to find the paid opportunities list fully populated and my chances of grabbing mass population, zero. No, I'm a liar, I did grab one. Phew! $5, and I'm laughing all the way to the bank, suckuh. Laughing so hard, I'm cryin'

At least it was an interesting talk, hmmm, something to scratch my noggin about. This neighbor person is actually my auto mechanic. He works out of a big shop/barn here on the property, rents it part-time for extra room to work on big-rigs.

Anyhoo - I can't gossip about him, cuz I like him dearly, but it was an interesting, revealing and touchingly sensitive and personal story he was sharing with me. I feel truly honored when people open up to me like that. I feel trusted and needed, a friendly shoulder to lean on. He's a good guy.

Anyway, I had time to spare since I missed all those umpteen opps, I found myself another gem of a video. I laughed so hard, it (almost) made losing all that money worth while. But not really, I've got bills to pay. This took my mind off my worries . . . . . I should share it with my mr.mechanic.

Thinking ahead; Black Friday Shopping

Seeing a lot of posts recently about Christmas creeping into the store displays already. Although I thoroughly despise the over commercialization of the real meaning behind celebrating Christmas, I do loves me getting a good shop-on.

We live in a semi-remote area of Oregon. There's not a lot to choose from around here for shopping, as compared to where I grew up, San Francisco Bay Area, California, baby. Man how I miss the malls, restaurants and city life. Portland really doesn't get my city fix.

Here on the Oregon central coast, we have Walmart, second hand stores, garage sales and Fred Meyer! Hooray for Fred Meyer. There are no FM in Cal, and I shyed away from it for a while when we first moved up here, unfamiliar territory. Now, with such slim pickens around us, I am loving FM.

The clothes are cute, trendy, quality and the best part about FM is it truly is a one-stop-shop.

It's time for back-to-school shopping for my 12yr daughter and she's not my little tomboy anymore. She is asking for, and quite frankly deserves, girly girl fashionable quality apparel and shoes.

My favorite time of year to shop is definitely black friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Brings me back to all that Christmas talk. It took me a few years to catch on to the early-rise, shop til you drop, day after Thanksgiving stampede, but now I am hooked. We got sooooo many great deals last year.

FM has a tradition of opening at 5am. Since it is "the place to go" around here, customers start lining up around 3am, because it is a madhouse as soon as the doors open. Crazed dingalings fight and grab for all the lined up carts and bolt down the aisles. It's fun and stupid at the same time. It's an adventure, and heck, it's only once a year.

To help me plan my shopping bonanza, here, cyber monday, is a great site that will show us all the black friday ads before they even appear in local papers! I am ALWAYS looking at ads to plan my shopping routine. I love this idea! This site even offers email alerts to new ads that will be coming out.

I think I'll start a little Christmas shopping now, just so I don't have to fight with a fully loaded hand gun, I mean, loaded push cart on black friday. I can't wait to get my after-turkey-day black friday groove on. Join me.

Not a good way to start off my day, especially a Monday! Blood pressure is up. At least the sun is beginning to shine through.

Already procrastinated on my morning cycle and there's no excuse there. Woke up at 5:30, actually got up, on my second cup-o-java and shoulda coulda woulda got out the door to ride, but put it off. That mean little alter ego voice inside told me to "just wait. It's ok, you make your own hours, just go later." Uhg I like to go before morning commuters hit the road, but nooooooo

So, I was surfing around looking for the current news to blog about and I missed another opp, a $10 opp. It is literally as if you have to have NOTHING else to do but sit in front of that page, only that page and refresh it every minute to grab enough opportunities. If only more of the list were available to me, but my blogs just don't cut the mustard I guess. So frustrating.

3rd blog's the charm (?)

It's official. I've added my 3rd blog to (hopefully) be approved by PPP. That will most likely happen Monday.
(yay, someone must be working sun night!?)

After adding my second blog a little while ago, 'Down, write blog', I haven't noticed any increase in paid opportunities being available to me on the list. It really depends on your score and subscribed readers.

I have been playing the surfing/traffic game so much, I am reeeeaaalllly sick of surfing for free exchange traffic. Maybe it's time to buy some traffic. That could be a big fat waste of money though if people don't even end up subscribing.

Even though I am bored of surfing, it is the right thing to do. Save the money and just surf baby. I think I can I think I can I think I can

I did rush through this latest post, to find more paid opportunities that had opened up on the listing, but I was too late to grab them. So, I wandered off for a minute to read around on some news.

Had that gut feeling again to check the listing not more than a minute after I had just left that page and wouldn'tcha know it?! Another paid opp and another 'just miss.'

I know it is just luck of the draw. It's not as if I literally can sit here all day (even though sometimes I do) and click that damn page every couple minutes to grab the opps. But it wouldn't be as frustrating if I wasn't so limited to the selection. There's a whole slew of other opportunities on the list that, apparently, I am not qualified for.

It's a vicious cycle. You join ppp to get paid, then your page rank goes down the crapper and you aren't presented with as many opps because your page doesn't score high enough.

It's too soon for me to give up on what little extra money I'm getting out of it. I'll keep plugging away at it. Somedays I really want to heave=ho the whole computer through the window. Man, that would feel awesome!

I knew it, I knew it. I grabbed a paid opp and as I was writing it, I had a gut feeling a butt load of other paid opps were opening up on the list.

Ahh well, I wasn't going to rush through my post to try and get back and snag another job. (you can only work on one at a time).

I have been known to (who am i kidding, who knows me?) go back and refresh the page to see if a better paying job opens up that I can grab, and ditch the $5 job.

But no, I wanted to finish this guy off, ha ha, it was on actor Amos Tamam. (whoever that is) As I go back, ya, my gutt was right, a butt load of newies on the list.

Who cares, they're all only $5 and they're all 200words or more. I grabbed the only $5/50 word . . . . . even though I put thought and care into it and it's about a thousand word article. I kid.

Discovered a new trick to (hopefully) grabbing more opps. 9p.m. seems to be a magical hour for opening up new opps on the list.

Last night, I started refreshing at 8:57, click, click, refresh, refresh. AHA! It's open, grab it, computers communicating, talking, banter, QUIT the small talk already computers, this is CRUNCH time! Ahhhhrrrgggg, it's gone.

I have high speed cable internet, but there are just too many other posties grabbing opps I guess.
That's all, not much to post for now. Feast or famine on grabbing available PPP opportunities.
