A bike computer, GPS, rear-view video, heart rate...and more. It might keep you occupied during the lonesome stretches of the 2011 PBP--or at least they might have a few of the pre-production bugs worked out by then!

Cycling Plus UK - January article with photos about PBP

Some photos from this web site found a home in the largest bicycling magazine in the UK, Cycling Plus. The pics will be used for a feature article by writer Isabel Best (who completed the event) in the January issue. Isabel writes for mainly British national newspapers and magazines such as the Financial Times, the Independent on Sunday, The Observer, Elle, Monocle/Wallpaper, Procycling and Blast.

If you're interested, live in the US and wanna pick up a copy - I think that the issue can be found somewhere in the never-ending aisles of magazines at Barnes and Noble.

Carnage Paris - Exhausted participants and friendly volunteers

“Carnage” is the heart and soul of the Paris Brest Paris. From fatigued participants to friendly volunteers, friends, and family who come together every 4 years to make this event happen. Uninhibited passion for cycling, tradition, and fellow cyclists. An ideology of doing something that most consider to be completely crazy or impossible and making art of it all--in a way that feels somewhat normal, with a smile. Pushing oneself to complete and total exhaustion and then consuming a sports drink, chocolate milk, beer, wine, or high-carb snack to summon enough strength to get back in the saddle and continue on. For me, the meaning of this word, in a PBP sense, renders its own definition which is quite the opposite of the one you might find in a dictionary. While photographing this event from the seat of a motorcycle, every time I witnessed a state of “carnage”, I raised my hands and cheered in victory. Go Carnage!!!

This Web site has been built for all of those who participated in the 2007 PBP. Gregg Bleakney and Stephan Schier personally funded 100% of the documentation costs associated with this project. With the exception of the professionally framed prints gallery of this Web site, all other images are offered for download only to friends, family, volunteers, or fans of the event who may print and display images solely for personal use.

The image resolution used in the galleries of this site is high enough for a nice 4" x 6" print. If you want high resolution, larger format prints then please visit the Professional Quality Prints section of this web site for more information on how to make that happen.

We have decided not to charge per image in a traditional commercial format in favor a much more interesting and fun Web 2.0 social experiment. If you want to download images for printing purposes or just simply enjoy the content presented in this Web site, please pay an amount that you feel is a fair exchange.
