What a great idea. The interviews can all be seen <a href="http://videoblast.itp.tsoa.nyu.edu/vlogs/show/">here</a>. I was assisting as interviewer, and it was a great experience! <br /><br />Here is a <a href="http://videoblast.itp.tsoa.nyu.edu/videos/wintershow2006/gilad.mov">video</a> for <a href="http://giladlotan.com/projects/newswheel.htm">World News Wheels</a>, by <a href="http://giladlotan.com/">Gilad Lotan</a> and Ariel Efron, which emphasizes the parallel between the traditional act of prayer (and the spinning of the tibetan prayer wheels on a daily basis) and watching the news. Each time a prayer wheel is spun, a different video from various news websites is triggered and projected above the prayer wheels. <br /><br />There is also this <a href="http://videoblast.itp.tsoa.nyu.edu/videos/wintershow2006/rob.kate.mov">video</a>, for the <a href="http://www.botanicalls.com/">Botanicalls</a>, which is a service for plant and human communication (also recently shown on <a href="http://www.rocketboom.com/vlog/archives/2006/12/rb_06_dec_19.html">this episode</a> of Rocketoboom)...Or how about the <a href="http://videoblast.itp.tsoa.nyu.edu/videos/wintershow2006/younghyun.jaewook.mov">interactive puppet theater</a> by Younghyun Chung & Jaewook Shin? Here is a bit of the message that I got from <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Jazeera_International">Al Jazeera International</a>:<br /><br /><em>&#34;The Listening Post', is a weekly programme that will take a long hard look<br />at the global media - how the news is reported, what the big stories of the<br />week are, what the small quirky stories are and most importantly what the<br />world thinks of how certain news is reported. The programme will be<br />broadcast on Al Jazeera's new English language channel, Al Jazeera<br />International.<br /><br />I am producing a feature of the programme called Global Village Voices, this<br />is where we hear from people all over the world about what they think of the<br />media. We want people to contribute via video and the internet with comments<br />of one to two minutes. This is where you would come in shopuld you be<br />interested. We want to get a perspective from as many angles as possible.<br /><br />Al Jazeera International is a new channel that is being broadcast from<br />London, Washington, Kuala Lumpar and Qatar. It is english language (despite<br />being Arab funded) and may go some way to balancing the western media.<br /><br />The Global Village Voices will include video comments vlog style.
