So, here I sit wanting to share something with all of you and not having much to say except happy spring! We have been doing shoots around Monterey the past week, and here's just a sneak.....just a reminder we still have yet to hear from alot of people that have purchased photo shoots, and we have time to still shoot families for spring/Easter photos.

We have found some great ones on our own and some with the great dog aps for mobile phones. Now I just found this list from a realtor in Santa Cruz~how great to post suggestions on his site! I would give him a call right away if I were looking for a home there, just because he includes the entire family. ;)

Looks like we are keeping our gorgeous summery weather for a couple more weeks! I know I should be sad because we really need the rain, but I'm having so much fun playing on the beaches in the 70 degree weather and hiking in the sunshine! Here's a few shots from this last weekend, we ended up filming in the trees and meadows around Felton, California and what do you think of how some of these turned out?
YAY! We can't wait to meet you. I thought I'd write you a quick note just to help with some questions about the current Groupon (Jan 3-5, San Jose). If you look around our Facebook and Website you will probably get a quick idea of what we are doing this year, but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be monitoring the question board on Groupon once the deal goes 'live' so you can also ask that way.

How long is the shoot?

Our current Groupon will include up to 60 minutes of shooting time. If you need more than that, we can arrange that in advance of your shoot and will need to know that for scheduling purposes. ($50 for each additional hour). But honestly, after about 30 minutes most people are ready to move on to whatever else they have planned for the day.

Where would you like to shoot?

We can meet you at an outdoor location here in the SF Bay area. (think beaches and parks) we would love to meet you and your family on a beach in Monterey, or at Crissy Field in San Francisco, or in Santa Cruz by the Boardwalk, etc.

What kind of photo shoot is this?

Yep, this is for an outdoor photo shoot. We want to show beautiful landscapes and people out enjoying them. For the most part, we will take family photos of you playing outside with the kids, kids just being kids, enjoying life, cartwheels on the beach, chasing the dog, flying kites, playing with Mom & Dad, climbing trees, you know, FUN! We can also do the stuffy posed shots, of course, at your request. ;)

When will I see my images?

I always tell people a week, but typically we will put a few sneak pics up on Facebook right away for you to see and share with your friends and family, etc. then you will get a link to images that are online, and you will receive the disc itself in about a week. (we will ask for your addresses at the time of scheduling)

The deal will be running in Groupon San Jose Jan 3-5th. Looking forward to more time spent outside playing all over the area. (like I need an excuse, right?) They asked for a bunch of photos to choose from for the advertising, and they ended up choosing this one of my little assistant. I'm guessing she will be asking for modeling fees!

HA as of this day I cannot even answer that. I focus on what my passion is at the time, and right now I am loving it all. Is that wrong???

We took the dog and child for a walk down the beach with some friends and ended up finding the world famous Mavericks Beach, (think Surfs' Up, Dude!)....but, when we got there we were suprised with hundreds of other folks that had driven out to walk the tidal pools. Best low tide in a year!
Pacheco State Park is the last remaining portion of the Mexican land grant, El Rancho San Luis Gonzaga. Francisco Pacheco and his son Juan were granted the property and built the first house in Merced County on this land in 1843. The land remained in the Pacheco family through five generations until Paula Fatjo, the great-great granddaughter of Francisco Pacheco, donated the land in 1992 to be a park for future generations who share her love of animals, horse back riding, history, and unspoiled land. This land has been a horse and a cattle ranch since 1843 and has breath taking views of the Central Valley to the east and the Santa Clara Valley to the west.

The park has beautiful displays of spring wildflowers, scenic vistas, and outstanding trails for horse-back riding, hiking, and mountain biking. The 28 miles of trails offer several loop options to give visitors the choice of a hike or ride of from one to twenty miles or more. During the spring the park's grassy slopes abound with blossoming wildflowers. The park is home to tule elk, deer, bobcat, coyote, fox, several hawks, golden eagles and many other smaller animals. Cattle continue to graze on the ranch in the winter and spring months.

Among the historic features of the park are an old line shack used by Henry Miller's cattle company in the 1800s, part of the old Butterfield Stage line route, and the remains of the original Pacheco adobe. There is also a wind turbine farm which generates enough clean electrical power for 3,500 homes.
Although the total park area is 6,890 acres only the western 2,600 acres are open for public use at this time.
Location/Directions: Pacheco State Park is located 24 miles west of Los Banos or 20 miles east of Gilroy off Highway 152 on Dinosaur Point Road.

I had so much fun playing in the Red Rocks in New Mexico I thought i'd offer my fans a free digital picture to use as a desktop or background, or even to make a Mothers Day gift for your loved ones! So, here are a couple of previews...if you like them make sure and tell me! Oh, and if you want one (without my logo, of course) then email me at parksphotography@msn.com. On Sunday I will respond to all of the emails I have gotten and send you your digital copies. FYI the file will be large enough to send for large prints if you like.

My daughter wasn't feeling well, so we didn't take too much time sightseeing on the way home from New Mexico. (There's always next time, right?) We did manage to take Route 66 whenever possible between Albuquerque and Bakersfield, and saw some pretty interesting things. I was suprised by the differences we found both in the highway itself and the towns lining it. In some towns, they really embrased the Route 66 funk and kept up with it, some even had tour busses lining the streets. In other towns, not only did it go to ghost town status, but a good deal of the buildings had either fallen down or been burned down. Here are a few pics from the Route 66 portion of our trip this time.
