I'm an empirical kind of guy, and there is just no evidence of an artificial toehold in sentience. It is often forgotten that the idea of mind or brain as computational is merely an assumption, not a truth. When I point this out to "believers" in the computational theory of mind, some of their arguments are almost religious. They say, "What else could there be? Do you think mind is supernatural?" But accepting mind as a physical entity does not tell us what kind of physical entity it is. Zu massiv tauchen all diese neokonservatven Topoi nun auch auf der Linken auf  diese Gängelung von Zersetzung, Beliebigkeit, Denkoffenheit, Pluralität und nun auch noch der Vorwurf, man würde Traditionen ignorieren.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Auch das haben die Postmoderne und Habermas gleichermaßen dargestellt: Traditionen eignet man sich an, geht aktiv mit ihnen um, unterwirft sich jedoch nicht.  Verbleibt im Modus der Kritik, ohne christliche Selbstkasteiung fortzuschreiben, und gesteht sich Emotionalität und Intensität auch zu.&lt;br /&gt;

This perhaps should make us cautious. In Animals in Translation, Temple Grandin writes of driving two indoor cats crazy by flicking a laser pointer around the room. They wouldn't stop stalking and pouncing on this ungraspable dot of lighttheir dopamine system pumping. She writes that no wild cat would indulge in such useless behavior: "A cat wants to catch the mouse, not chase it in circles forever." The problem is that the term "bromance" itself keeps what's been banished still half-conscious just beneath the surface of male interactions. Dann befindet man sich als Konsument in derselben Gegenwart wie der Künstler, teilt im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes einen Raum und einen Moment. Dann bekommt man ein Gespür für das Wesen von Gegenwart. I found the Common Reader reprint edition of Love Conquers All and read the very same wasp passage. I laughed: ha-ha. Then I went back to the Kindle 2 and read the wasp passage again. No laugh. Of course, by then Id read the passage three times, and it wasnt that funny anymore. But the point is that it wasnt funny the first time I came to it, when it was enscreened on the Kindle. Or according to Baudrillard, The Final Illusion.
