For all the not-so-rich smokers out there who's thinks cigarettes are getting more and more expensive these days, you might want(or already have) tried rolling cigarettes. But from where i came from, people roll cigarretes into a cone like shape, i mean its really easier and faster. but with filters, people usually use cigareete rolling box/machine to roll em'.

I found a great tutorial on youtube. Thanks to the owner of that video(i don't own that video) for sharing it on youtube. So here's for y'all. Do watch. All credits goes to him. I'm just helping to share. :)

RSVP - what the heck does it stand for?!

Waddup Y'all. It's been a way-too-long time since i posted here. So let's get the engine running again.

I've always been wondering what the heck RSVP stands for. Well i know what it is used for. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's meant to send invitations and people respond to it - Right ? Okay so what does the alphabets R.S.V.P stands for? That's the particular question that's always been playing in my head each time i see the letter R.S.V.P on sites like acebook.

So i decided to for some answers. And it says here on ikipedia that

In the context of social invitations, RSVP or Rsvp (or either of these with a period inserted after each letter) is a request for a response from the invited person. It is an initialism derived from the French phrase répondez s'il vous plaît, meaning "Please respond".^[1] Some ambiguity can exist as to which invitees the request applies to.

Interesting. So it's a French phrase with the meaning of 'Please respond'. RSVP, répondez s'il vous plaît. The site also mentions that

The high society of England adopted French etiquette in the late 18th century, and the writings of Emily Post purport to offer a standard no more stringent than that tradition. Late 20th century editions building on her 1920s beginning work say, e.g., that "Anyone receiving an invitation with an R.S.V.P. on it is obliged to reply....", and some recent editions describe breaching this standard as "inexcusably rude".

Well, there it is. I've finally found the answer to my question on what the heck does R.S.V.P. stands for. At least for now i wouldn't be frustrated each time i see those phrase again. As for now, enjoy the music video by Jennifer Lopez, On the Floor ft. Pitbull. :)

Nuffnang Ads,Error on Firefox 3.5.3 with Fedora 11

I'm using Fedora 11 as my daily Operating System. Recently, after updating my firefox to the latest 3.5.3, i got errors on my nuffnang ads on 3 blogs(2 belongs to me while the other is my girlfriend's).

It says something like :

It's raining heavily today, again. My thoughts are rather frozen by the cold weather. Or so it seems. I am wondering, why are Singaporeans so 'kiasu'?

It's so irritating when alighting the Monorail Train(MRT) where people rush in the train causing those who are alighting have a hard time squeezing out. It's not like as if there's no more fu*king train in a few minutes time that they can't even give way to alighting passengers. Especially those old aunties who like to squeeze in and out.

Can't people just stand at the side of the doors and wait for passengers to alight before boarding the train? That's what the diagonal yellow line and the arrow on the floor is for right?

I've seen in busy shopping malls where someone carrying bulky item(s) trying to exit the lift BUT people just rush in the moment the lift doors open! How the heck is he going to exit? What courtesy these people have.
And no, I'm not a foreigner posting this. I'm just another Singaporean who thinks it's just humiliating that there are lotsa locals behaving in this manner.

You can actually buy a pocket ashtray at any 7-Eleven outlets and some departmental stores around Singapore. They are foldable and fit right in your pocket. Why you should buy and bring them around wherever you go? It will prevent you from littering your cigarettes and avoid paying SGD200 fine if you get caught!

What's worse? By right, littering your cigarette ASH is also considered as littering as told by one of the NEA staff(which i won't mention his name). So buy these pocket ashtrays and avoid getting fined! No wonder they call Singapore a FINE country =)

I've been searching for a good and reliable and at the same time cheap web hosting. Sounds impossible, i know. And another thing that i need is the monthly billing cycle which will actually let me test out the hosting company for a few months and just pay for that rather than paying for 1 year of subcription. Well at last i found Hostgator.

For some of us, we're very patient. And for another some of us, we're very hot temper. grrr! Whatever type of person or human being you are, i am 100% sure that you've been frustrated at least once in your lifetime. (Unless you are a robot?)

First of all, i'm pretty sure that you don't want to just explode at the next innocent person next to you when you're frustrated right?You might be thinking, "who cares, i'm pissed". Okay not a good answer, hey did i just read your mind? No? Yes? Okay.

1)First most important thing to do is to take a LONG DEEP BREATH.
2)Think about the things that you are so frustrated about. Most of the time its just a tiny winy small thing.
3)Ask yourself, will getting angry solve anything?
4)Are you even being realistic? Was it even YOUR own mistake?
5)Take a LONG DEEP BREATH again. Now smile.
6)Tell yourself, "allright, lets start off a fresh day!!".
7)Smile. =)

Interesting Drink I Found

I happen to find this drink at 7-Eleven @ Greenridge.
I find the design interesting and the name 'Naughty G' make it sounds like its something minorities are not allowed to buy.

One of the ingredients stated there was Horny Goat Weed?? Okay, wasn't sure if that's true or not but that is what was stated on the can.

Overall in my opinion i think its just another energy drink.(It does taste like an energy drink afterall). =)
And i do like the design of the can. Lets get naughty =P

Finally My Notebook is Alive

My samsung NP-Q35 hdd recently crashed(most likely overheated). Was searching for a IDE/P-ATA hdd around and at last bought a replacement. Replaced the spoil parts and finally installed the OS. Now finally it's alive again. haha.

Pending Upgrades:
Replace the Fan
Upgrade ddr2 RAM to 2GB
Search for new casing(housing) if possible.

What an old Notebook. haha.

personally i think, that the most important factor in any relationship is honesty. both parties have to be honest. honesty has alot of factors too. and one of them us not cheating in a relationship. another is lying. and many more. it hurts to see the other party being dishonest. and dishonesty also breaks the trust that is there.

trust is something that once you have it, you should treasure it. cause once the trust is broken, its almost impossible to get 100% back, and even if you do get it back,the trust still is not as strong as previously.

and when i say in a relationship, i mean every different type of relationships. especially the ones that has love. friends, love, family, etc. so be honest.

Finally recovered

After 6 days of having a fever, i finally recovered. phew!
first 3 days wasn't that bad. It was only the 4th day that my fever went all the way up to 41.2 degrees. Even my eyes were red as mentioned by my beloved girlfren. I went to the clinic and the doc have me 5 different sets of pills plus cough syrup. argh! Aniways, in glad that now i'm feelin alot better! Lucky it wasn't swine flu! =D

It was a mistake that my previously developed Samsung K3 playlist generator was created using C#. I only used that appllication in my Windows box and in school and hence i created it using C#. But since i do not need to use MS Visual Studio anymore in school, im back to my linux notebook. But running my K3 playlist generator will require me to install MONO(a port of .NET) and im not sure if it's gonna run as i've not tried it. Haha.

So here i am. re-writing the software back in Java.
Working Environment : JDK1.6 + Eclipse + Swing

Estimated Completion Time : Unknown, due to the fact that i'm working everyday till late at nite.. And hence i got not much time for this. lol.

My Favourite Twitter Client for Linux

If you're using linux and couldn't decide on a Twitter client, i'd reccommend my personal favourite : twhirl. (Its cross platform so you can run this on Windows and Mac too).

Since twhirl is based on Adobe Air platform, you have to install that first. Visit the Adobe Air page and download it. After that, download twhirl from its' website. The rest are self-explainatory.

Personally i think twhirl is very user friendly and have all the features i need for a twitter client. And plus, you can post on Facebook,Myspace, and many more via Ping.fm. There are also themes(colors) for twhirl. Below is a screenshot of twhirl.
