How to speak English fast and understand like natives

We all spoke English and we were just
cussing online business in 2020 and what
I've noticed is that people who are not
English native speakers. We're using a
language that is textbook. So there were
some people who are in the US and their
the language was completely different and
one was listening to those people. I
started noting those differences and I
decided to share my insights with you
because with these insights you will be
able to speak English as a native
speaker and you wouldn't sound I would
say a little old-fashioned because when
you're using this textbook English you
sound a little too academic or a little
too old-fashioned with these tips by the
end of this class your English will be
more native will be more kind of
American and Morton.
let's start with a very basic and a very
common thing you probably know it but
not all of you are using it in your
everyday speech and this thing is
reduced forms let's look at some
examples instead of want to you say
wanna. I don't know I want to go to
London. I want to study in the US because
when you say I want to study in the US
it sounds a little weird. It doesn't have
this natural flow so with these reduced
form so you're getting this natural flow
to your language. let's look at another
example and please go ahead and try
saying stuff together with me. I'm going
to wash the car but you're gonna say, I'm
gonna wash that car my car wash up.
you see the difference you see it's a
completely different attitudes.

The completely different mood on the
sentence when somebody asks you what
time is it you can say I don't know
which is again a little strange. you say
I don't know. I don't know and this D is
actually replaced with our I don't know.
you're not saying D you don't say I
don't know you're saying I don't know
it's like I don't know. yeah it's weird
but this is how it works with the
language. I don't know try listen, I don't
know and I don't care and the last but
not the least got two verses god. I gotta
do my homework instead of I got to do my
homework we gotta fix it God by the way
you can say I got to do my homework if
you decide to speak British English and
this is my tip number two you need to
decide which accent you want to adopt
because you can speak British English
you can speak Canadian English you can
speak Australian English, you can speak
American English and there is nothing wrong with either
of those access. It's just you need to be
consistent and I started learning
English with a British version and I
really liked it and I think I can still
imitate my British accent I don't know.
I'm not using it at all.

maybe if I come to Britain for a week I
will get back to British accent but I
like American accent and I would say
American accent is the easiest to learn
just because there are so many resources
in American English. I try to speak with
an American accent there are a lot of
Youtubers out there if you take the top 20
Youtubers. I think all of them will be
from the US. I'm going to be surprising
my best friend. Shane Canadian accent is
supposed to be the easiest to understand.
so if you're struggling with understandin native speakers
try and Google Canadian youtubers and watch
their videos first and then once you
start understanding them maybe you just
stick with the Canadian accent or you
develop your ear and you move on to
American youtubers or you decide that
Britain is your way to go and you adopt
British accent but one thing here is
just be consistent with whatever you
choose by the way guys if you are
looking for more ways to improve your
English to speak like a native speaker.

The Story of great lovers Romeo and Juliet

Once upon a time there lived in Verona two great families named Montagu and Capulet.
They were both rich, and I suppose they were as sensible, in most things, as other rich
people. But in one thing they were extremely silly. There was an old, old quarrel between
the two families, and instead of making it up like reasonable folks, they made a sort
of pet of their quarrel, and would not let it die out. So that a Montagu wouldn't speak
to a Capulet if he met one in the street—nor a Capulet to a Montagu—or if they did speak,
it was to say rude and unpleasant things, which often ended in a fight. And their relations
and servants were just as foolish, so that street fights and duels and uncomfortablenesses
of that kind were always growing out of the Montagu-and-Capulet quarrel.
Now Lord Capulet, the head of that family, gave a party—a grand supper and a dance—and
he was so hospitable that he said anyone might come to it except (of course) the Montagues.
But there was a young Montagu named Romeo, who very much wanted to be there, because
Rosaline, the lady he loved, had been asked. This lady had never been at all kind to him,
and he had no reason to love her; but the fact was that he wanted to love somebody,
and as he hadn't seen the right lady, he was obliged to love the wrong one. So to the Capulet's
grand party he came, with his friends Mercutio and Benvolio.
Old Capulet welcomed him and his two friends very kindly—and young Romeo moved about
among the crowd of courtly folk dressed in their velvets and satins, the men with jeweled
sword hilts and collars, and the ladies with brilliant gems on breast and arms, and stones
of price set in their bright girdles. Romeo was in his best too, and though he wore a
black mask over his eyes and nose, everyone could see by his mouth and his hair, and the
way he held his head, that he was twelve times handsomer than anyone else in the room.
Presently amid the dancers he saw a lady so beautiful and so lovable that from that moment
he never again gave one thought to that Rosaline whom he had thought he loved. And he looked
at this other fair lady, as she moved in the dance in her white satin and pearls, and all
the world seemed vain and worthless to him compared with her. And he was saying this,
or something like it, when Tybalt, Lady Capulet's nephew, hearing his voice, knew him to be
Romeo. Tybalt, being very angry, went at once to his uncle, and told him how a Montagu had
come uninvited to the feast; but old Capulet was too fine a gentleman to be discourteous
to any man under his own roof, and he bade Tybalt be quiet. But this young man only waited
for a chance to quarrel with Romeo. In the meantime Romeo made his way to the
fair lady, and told her in sweet words that he loved her, and kissed her. Just then her
mother sent for her, and then Romeo found out that the lady on whom he had set his heart's
hopes was Juliet, the daughter of Lord Capulet, his sworn foe. So he went away, sorrowing
indeed, but loving her none the less. Then Juliet said to her nurse:

"Who is that gentleman that would not dance?" "His name is Romeo, and a Montagu, the only
son of your great enemy," answered the nurse. Then Juliet went to her room, and looked out
of her window, over the beautiful green-grey garden, where the moon was shining. And Romeo
was hidden in that garden among the trees—because he could not bear to go right away without
trying to see her again. So she—not knowing him to be there—spoke her secret thought
aloud, and told the quiet garden how she loved Romeo.
And Romeo heard and was glad beyond measure. Hidden below, he looked up and saw her fair
face in the moonlight, framed in the blossoming creepers that grew round her window, and as
he looked and listened, he felt as though he had been carried away in a dream, and set
down by some magician in that beautiful and enchanted garden.
"Ah—why are you called Romeo?" said Juliet. "Since I love you, what does it matter what
you are called?" "Call me but love, and I'll be new baptized—henceforth
I never will be Romeo," he cried, stepping into the full white moonlight from the shade
of the cypresses and oleanders that had hidden him. She was frightened at first, but when
she saw that it was Romeo himself, and no stranger, she too was glad, and, he standing
in the garden below and she leaning from the window, they spoke long together, each one
trying to find the sweetest words in the world, to make that pleasant talk that lovers use.
And the tale of all they said, and the sweet music their voices made together, is all set
down in a golden book, where you children may read it for yourselves some day.
And the time passed so quickly, as it does for folk who love each other and are together,
that when the time came to part, it seemed as though they had met but that moment—and
indeed they hardly knew how to part. "I will send to you tomorrow," said Juliet.
And so at last, with lingering and longing, they said "Good night".
Juliet went into her room, and a dark curtain hid her bright window. Romeo went away through
the still and dewy garden like a man in a dream.
The next morning, very early, Romeo went to Friar Laurence, a priest, and, telling him
all the story, begged him to marry him to Juliet without delay. And this, after some
talk, the priest consented to do. So when Juliet sent her old nurse to Romeo
that day to know what he purposed to do, the old woman took back a message that all was
well, and all things ready for the marriage of Juliet and Romeo on the next morning.
The young lovers were afraid to ask their parents' consent to their marriage, as young
people should do, because of this foolish old quarrel between the Capulets and the Montagues.
And Friar Laurence was willing to help the young lovers secretly, because he thought
that when they were once married their parents might soon be told, and that the match might
put a happy end to the old quarrel. So the next morning early, Romeo and Juliet
were married at Friar Laurence's cell, and parted with tears and kisses. And Romeo promised
to come into the garden that evening, and the nurse got ready a rope-ladder to let down
from the window, so that Romeo could climb up and talk to his dear wife quietly and alone.
But that very day a dreadful thing happened. Tybalt, the young man who had been so vexed
at Romeo's going to the Capulet's feast, met him and his two friends, Mercutio and Benvolio,
in the street, called Romeo a villain, and asked him to fight. Romeo had no wish to fight
with Juliet's cousin, but Mercutio drew his sword, and he and Tybalt fought. And Mercutio
was killed. When Romeo saw that this friend was dead, he forgot everything except anger
at the man who had killed him, and he and Tybalt fought till Tybalt fell dead.
So, on the very day of his wedding, Romeo killed his dear Juliet's cousin, and was sentenced
to be banished. Poor Juliet and her young husband met that night indeed; he climbed
the rope-ladder among the flowers, and found her window, but their meeting was a sad one,
and they parted with bitter tears and hearts heavy, because they could not know when they
should meet again. Now Juliet's father, who, of course, had no
idea that she was married, wished her to wed a gentleman named Paris, and was so angry
when she refused, that she hurried away to ask Friar Laurence what she should do. He
advised her to pretend to consent, and then he said:
"I will give you a draught that will make you seem to be dead for two days, and then
when they take you to church it will be to bury you, and not to marry you. They will
put you in the vault thinking you are dead, and before you wake up Romeo and I will be
there to take care of you. Will you do this, or are you afraid?"
"I will do it; talk not to me of fear!" said Juliet. And she went home and told her father
she would marry Paris. If she had spoken out and told her father the truth, well, then
this would have been a different story. Lord Capulet was very much pleased to get
his own way, and set about inviting his friends and getting the wedding feast ready. Everyone
stayed up all night, for there was a great deal to do, and very little time to do it
in. Lord Capulet was anxious to get Juliet married because he saw she was very unhappy.
Of course she was really fretting about her husband Romeo, but her father thought she
was grieving for the death of her cousin Tybalt, and he thought marriage would give her something
else to think about. Early in the morning the nurse came to call
Juliet, and to dress her for her wedding; but she would not wake, and at last the nurse
cried out suddenly— "Alas! alas! help! help! my lady's dead! Oh,
well-a-day that ever I was born!" Lady Capulet came running in, and then Lord
Capulet, and Lord Paris, the bridegroom. There lay Juliet cold and white and lifeless, and
all their weeping could not wake her. So it was a burying that day instead of a marrying.
Meantime Friar Laurence had sent a messenger to Mantua with a letter to Romeo telling him
of all these things; and all would have been well, only the messenger was delayed, and
could not go. But ill news travels fast. Romeo's servant
who knew the secret of the marriage, but not of Juliet's pretended death, heard of her
funeral, and hurried to Mantua to tell Romeo how his young wife was dead and lying in the
grave. "Is it so?" cried Romeo, heart-broken. "Then
I will lie by Juliet's side tonight." And he bought himself a poison, and went straight
back to Verona. He hastened to the tomb where Juliet was lying. It was not a grave, but
a vault. He broke open the door, and was just going down the stone steps that led to the
vault where all the dead Capulets lay, when he heard a voice behind him calling on him
to stop. It was the Count Paris, who was to have married
Juliet that very day. "How dare you come here and disturb the dead
bodies of the Capulets, you vile Montagu?" cried Paris.
Poor Romeo, half mad with sorrow, yet tried to answer gently.
"You were told," said Paris, "that if you returned to Verona you must die."
"I must indeed," said Romeo. "I came here for nothing else. Good, gentle youth—leave
me! Oh, go—before I do you any harm! I love you better than myself—go—leave me here—"
Then Paris said, "I defy you, and I arrest you as a felon," and Romeo, in his anger and
despair, drew his sword. They fought, and Paris was killed.

As Romeo's sword pierced him, Paris cried— "Oh, I am slain! If thou be merciful, open
the tomb, and lay me with Juliet!" And Romeo said, "In faith I will."
And he carried the dead man into the tomb and laid him by the dear Juliet's side. Then
he kneeled by Juliet and spoke to her, and held her in his arms, and kissed her cold
lips, believing that she was dead, while all the while she was coming nearer and nearer
to the time of her awakening. Then he drank the poison, and died beside his sweetheart
and wife. Now came Friar Laurence when it was too late,
and saw all that had happened—and then poor Juliet woke out of her sleep to find her husband
and her friend both dead beside her. The noise of the fight had brought other folks
to the place too, and Friar Laurence, hearing them, ran away, and Juliet was left alone.
She saw the cup that had held the poison, and knew how all had happened, and since no
poison was left for her, she drew her Romeo's dagger and thrust it through her heart—and
so, falling with her head on her Romeo's breast, she died. And here ends the story of these
faithful and most unhappy lovers. And when the old folks knew from Friar Laurence
of all that had befallen, they sorrowed exceedingly, and now, seeing all the mischief their wicked
quarrel had wrought, they repented them of it, and over the bodies of their dead children
they clasped hands at last, in friendship and forgiveness.

Amazing Beef Lasagna Recipe. WoW

Tree cheese lasagna. This is so saucy, beefy and cheesy. Plus it's easy and better than any restaurant lasagna. We'll start with the pasta. Place nine lasagna noodles into a pot of salted water and cook until al dente according to the package instructions. Al dente means - firm to the bite and don't overcook your noodles because they will still soften up a bit when you bake the lasagna. Drain the noodles, then add cold water to stop thecooking process and to keep them from sticking together.

Usually, while the noodles are cooking, I'll make the meat sauce. In a deep pan, over medium-high heat, add one tablespoon of olive oil, then one pound of ground beef and 1 small diced onion. Saute for 5 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink. Add two large minced garlic cloves and cook another minute or until fragrant, then add 1/4 cup of good red wine and saute until mostly evaporated And if you don't have red wine on hand, you can substitute with beef broth.

Now add 24 ounces or 3 cups of your favorite marinara sauce, either homemade or store-bought. Season with half a teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of pepper, 1/4 teaspoon of dried thyme, half a teaspoon of sugar and two tablespoons of parsley, Bring that to a simmer, then cover and cook on low heat for 5 minutes while you make your cheese sauce. In a large mixing bowl combine 16 ounces of cottage cheese, 15 ounces of ricotta cheese, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella, 1 large egg and 2 tablespoons of finely chopped parsley. Mix until it's well blended. Everything's ready and now we can assemble the lasagna. In a deep 9 by 13 casserole dish spread half a cup of the meat sauce evenly over the bottom and cover that with three lasagna noodles. Now add 1/3 of the remaining meat sauce and sprinkle the top with one cup of mozzarella cheese.

Next spoon on half of the cheese sauce and spread evenly. Repeat the process until you have three layers of noodles. This is a good time to pre-heat your oven to 375˚F. Top the last layer of noodles with the remaining meat sauce and cover it with one cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Adding the cheese on top forms a crust that makes this lasagna supremely juicy. You'll need to cover and bake this casserole so prepare a large sheet of foil. Also very important to keep the cheese from sticking to the foil, poke eight to ten toothpicks evenly over the top of the lasagna, then loosely cover with the foil and seal the edges. Bake at 375˚F for 45 minutes, then remove the foil and set the oven to broil for three to five minutes or until the cheese is golden brown. Now for the hardest part, you want to let the lasagne cool for 30 minutes in the pan for it to set and become much easier to slice and it is hard to wait for lasagna.

All right, you're supposed to wait about thirty minutes for this to rest so that you don't eat it when it's blazing hot, but I just can't wait anymore so I'm gonna get this party started because I cannot resist a cheesy juicy loaded lasagna and of course take out the toothpicks. Do your family a favor and don't leave the toothpicks in. That would result in unpleasant situations. Oh man.

A little bit of meat sauce on that one.
Wow! Okay and you all know how I feel about garnish so we're gonna add some garnish to this. Just a little bit of fresh parsley, cuz there's fresh parsley inside, there should be fresh parsley on top. You know what I'm talking about, especially if you're serving this for the holidays. It's like the easiest thing you can do to fancy up a dish. Okay now, we've got it. Okay, I'm gonna cut into this because I am so hungry for it so here we go. And this is irresistible, cheesy, which means my kids love it of course. Okay, we're gonna get the biggest piece because that is how we roll. Look at thatcheese pull! Oh, hmm. Oh my goodness! Look at those layers. This is a loaded lasagna.
Yum yum. Okay, here we go. Enough chatter, less talk and more eating. I'm not exaggerating when I say it, but that is the best lasagna that I have ever tried it! It beats restaurant versions all day
long because it is so juicy and moist and the flavor - mmm. I mean, you just cannot beat a homemade lasagna. This is delicious and it refrigerates and freezes as well so you can make it ahead, because it makes a big old batch. This is definitely a family favorite and a keeper of a recipe. I make this over and over and over, because everybody loves it.

What Is Coronavirus? (COVID-19)
Get the latest information about Coronavirus.

So the whole family of coronaviruses are named Coronavirus
because corona means crown, and so this refers
to the way that the virus looks under the microscope,
like there's a crown on the top of the virus.
Some of them, four or five different kinds,
cause common diseases among humans,
everything from the common cold
to mild or moderate respiratory illnesses.
Other kinds of coronaviruses affect animals,
and sometimes, on rare occasions, we see coronaviruses jump
from animal species into the human population.
The 2019 novel coronavirus is getting a lot of attention now
because it is a new kind of coronavirus
we haven't seen among humans before.
The theory is that it may have jumped from an animal species
into the human population, and then begun spreading.
We have seen some people that have died of this disease,
and we know that there are already thousands of cases.
So people are concerned, because we don't yet know exactly
how severe the disease will be or how far it will spread.
When a new virus emerges, we often have to learn much more
about it, and one of the things that we question
is how does it transmit from person to person?
We know that most respiratory viruses are spread
by large droplets that come out when people cough
and sneeze, and stay aloft usually
for about six feet in front of them.

They land on surfaces, and then can also be transmitted
between person to person by touching those surfaces,
such as door knobs or other surfaces.
Other viruses can spread in the air and stay aloft
for a longer period of time in small droplet nuclei.
For this current 2019 coronavirus, we're not yet sure
whether it is droplet or airborne transmission,
so we're erring on the side of caution and taking protection
as if it was spread by the airborne route.
We're still learning a lot about
this 2019 novel coronavirus, to understand
how dangerous it might be.
Right now, the majority of the cases are in China.
We know that some travelers have brought the virus
to other countries, including the United States.
I think one of the main things to keep in mind
is that this is respiratory virus season,
and we have other respiratory viruses like influenza
that we need to take precautions because we know
we have thousands of cases and thousands of deaths
in this country every year from influenza.

Given the ongoing transmission of the virus in China,
we have a travel alert that was issued
by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
So at this time, until we know more,
avoid non-essential travel to China.
Johns Hopkins Health System and health systems
across the nation are busy right now preparing
to safely identify, isolate, evaluate, and care
for patients with the 2019 novel coronavirus.
We have the capability of doing this safely
by utilizing personal protective equipment,
by implementing travel screenings so that
we can quickly identify patients
who have risk factors for the disease,
and then implementing isolation precautions, the use
of personal protective equipment, and other measures
to make sure that we limit the spread of the virus.
At the Johns Hopkins Hospital and throughout
our health system, we routinely care for patients infected
with diseases that are spread by the airborne route,
so we have expertise to do this safely.
When a new virus comes along that has unknown risks,
we have extra measures that we can put in place, including
our biocontainment unit that can advise us and put plans
in place to safely care for these patients.

The most problem of education inequality in the world.

Malcolm X once said that “Education is the passport to the future.”

But what if some passports are better than others,

giving the holder access to better schools and teachers

and, in turn, a more prosperous future?

These inequalities have been around long before Covid-19,

and yet, the pandemic has both exacerbated them and made them more visible.

While the standard of education varies greatly globally,

education inequality happens at the local level in all countries.

For example, only four out of every 100 children in Africa

is expected to enter a graduate and postgraduate institution,

compared to 14 out of 100 in South and West Asia

and 36 out of 100 in Latin America.

Even in developed countries, the quality of schooling can differ greatly,

whether rich or poor.

High national wealth then, is no guarantee of high equality.

The U.K., Germany and the U.S. are among the richest countries in the world, but all three rank poorly

on an educational inequality league table of 41 of the world’s richest countries.

By the middle of secondary school, educational inequalities are worse

than in other countries with much smaller economies such as Latvia, Spain and Estonia.

However, research has shown that child development is linked with income.

Unsurprisingly, the U.S. and the U.K. have some of the

highest levels of income inequality among OECD countries.

In the U.K., there has been a significant lack of social mobility since 1945.

As wealth inequality has remained high, there hasn’t been much change

in how well British children are doing at school.

In a 2019 report by the education coalition Fair Education Alliance,

pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds in the U.K. lag their peers by more than 8 months

in reading, writing and maths by age 11.

Children from persistently disadvantaged backgrounds are 22 months behind,

by the time they finish their school career. Small progress has been made

in helping some children almost beat the odds and overcome the barriers that face them

but the systemic underlying factors of our education system

still remain, which mean we’re not ever reaching the most persistently disadvantaged.

So, what are the contributing factors of education inequality among children?

According to Unicef, a child’s educational progress is linked to their family background.

What kind of jobs the parents have or whether the child is a first generation immigrant

can affect the likelihood of them continuing into higher education.

Inequality between genders is also apparent from a young age and tends to grow as children get older.

Reading abilities among girls are generally better than boys by the age of nine

and, in turn, that discrepancy is more likely to continue in education beyond secondary school.

And finally, which school you go to can have a significant impact on your academic performance.

In many countries, the debate on inequality in education is seen

through the prism of private schools versus state schools.

The U.K. is home to some very famous private schools like Eton College and Harrow School, behind me.

Of the 55 British prime ministers, nearly half were educated at just these two schools,

along with prominent actors, writers, scientists and royalty from across the world.

To compare, the entire state school education in England of a young person starting from nursery

costs an average of around $96,000. The annual school fees at Harrow, however,

cost around $56,000 for just one year of a child’s tuition.

But even that is dwarfed by private schools in Switzerland

such as Le Rosey which costs more than $135,000 per year.

Many believe that private education is at the root of inequality

and reduces the chances for those children who attend state schools.

The statistics tell us that educational privilege provides significant advantages and opens many doors.

In the U.K., nearly a third of members of parliament, two-thirds of the country’s top doctors

and 74% of judges were privately educated. The exam results also reflect the disparity.

In 2019, 45.7% of students at private schools in the U.K.

got A* or As in their final year exams compared to the national average of 25.5%.

But there are some state funded schools that buck that trend.

This is Mulberry School for Girls in east London.

It’s located in one of the most disadvantaged areas in the city,

yet the exam performance of students here is well above national average.

Vanessa Ogden is the headteacher here, and for the last 15 years,

has been instrumental in seeing many of her pupils overturn the odds.

As a headteacher, how do you, in your role, help to tackle education inequality?

The first really important way is to have students leave with a really great set of qualifications

and really great destinations to either university or apprenticeships

and so that’s the driving force, but of course,

inequality brings with it many structural difficulties in your life.

But while the pupils at Mulberry School have outperformed their peers for many years,

the Covid-19 pandemic may have undone much of that work.

We know from the research that Covid-19 has disproportionately affected

people of Black, Asian and minority ethnic background and those are the families mainly that we serve

and so not only has there been real difficulty around finance and resources,

but also real difficulty around health. The very first thing that reared its head

was period poverty, female students not being able to get sanitary products.

We hadn’t realized that really in a way schools are the providers of some of those things.

Stationery as well. So if you don’t have money or if the shops are shut

and you don’t have stationery in the home.

And we lent out all the devices that we could, so that they could learn at home.

In terms of the reasons why Covid-19 has exacerbated the disadvantage gap,

one big reason is the digital divide, but it’s also a resource divide in general.

So some families might not have access to laptops to access online learning.

They might not have a lot of space. The little progress we have made over the last ten years

is likely to have been reversed by lockdown. So what was already a dire situation

has been turned into quite a crisis.

The pandemic also highlighted another aspect of education inequality: private tuition.

By mid-April, there were nationwide school closures in more than 190 countries,

affecting more than 1.5 billion learners.

This led to an unprecedented demand for online teaching.

Some online tutoring platforms saw the number of daily users increase by 1,125% in two weeks.

In Singapore, there have even been calls to ban the private tuition industry

in an attempt to close the achievement gap.

The Covid-19 pandemic also impacted students in the U.K. progressing to university.

Due to exams being canceled during the lockdown, results were given based on an algorithm,

that critics claimed dragged dow high-achieving pupils in low-achieving schools,

compounding the inequalities they face.

The Department of Education and the exam boards initially responded by claiming there was no bias,

whether on the grounds of deprivation, gender or ethnicity.

However, they eventually reversed their decision, with grades instead estimated by the students’teachers.

So, what can be done to reduce educational inequalities both here and around the world?

A former Singaporean education minister said in 2018 that there should be

a broader definition of merit to recognize a wider range of skills.

We should double up on meritocracy, broaden its definition

to embrace various talents and skills. We should not cap achievement at the top,

but try harder, work harder, to lift the bottom.

The Fair Education Alliance also believes there is too much reliance on exams

and that education should be more holistic to include building aptitude and values.

We want an education system which develops skills

and social and emotional competencies alongside academic attainment,

we want teachers and leaders to be rewarded for serving the most disadvantaged students,

we want to engage parents and communities from all backgrounds in the education system

and we want to prepare young people for what comes after school.

Education is a way out of difficult situations. It’s also a means of moving yourself up the tree

in terms of prosperity, and not just financial prosperity

but also your kind of spiritual and cultural prosperity as well.

It’s also the case that a policy that works in one country or region may not work in another.

Economic inequality, however, is likely to grow due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

This means that creating better education systems is increasingly important

so that a child’s starting point in life doesn’t determine their future.

You have to be an optimist,

otherwise you’d pack up and go home in education, you know, you have to believe there is hope.

Tablighi Jamaat (Urdu: تبلیغی جماعت‎, Tablīghī Jamā‘at; Arabic: جماعة التبليغ‎, Jamā‘at at-Tablīgh;

Bengali: তাবলীগ জামাত; Hindi: तबलीग़ी जमात; English: Society for spreading faith) is a global Sunni Islamic proselytizing and revivalist movement that focuses on urging Muslims return to orthodox Sunni Islam,^[and particularly in matters of ritual, dress, and personal behavior.The organisation is estimated to have between twelveand 150 million adherents (the majority living in South Asia), and a presence in somewhere between 150 and 213 countries^. It has been called "one of the most influential religious movements in 20th century Islam".
The movement was started in 1927 by Muhammad Ilyas al-Kandhlawi in India.Its stated primary aim is spiritual reformation of Islam by reaching out to Muslims across social and economic spectra and working at the grass roots level, to bring them in line with the group's understanding of Islam.The teachings of Tabligh Jamaat are expressed in "Six Principles" (Kalimah, Salat, Ilm, Ikraam-e-Muslim, Ikhlas-e-Niyyat, Dawat-o-Tableegh). Tablighi Jamaat believes that Muslims are in a constant state of spiritual Jihad in the sense of fight against evil, the weapon of choice is Dawah (proselytization) and that battles are won or lost in the "hearts of men."
Tablighi Jamaat began as an offshoot of the Deobandi movement, and a response to perceived deteriorating moral values and a supposed negligence of aspects of Islam.It expanded from a local to a national to an international movement.
Tablighi Jamaat denies any affiliation in politics and fiqh (jurisprudence), focusing instead on the Quran and Hadith, and states that it rejects violence as a means for evangelism, (although some have complained that adherents have become involved in politics in Pakistan and recruited for terrorist acts in France, Britain, Spain and the US). Tabligh Jamaat has claimed to avoid electronic media and in favor of personal communication for proselytising, although prominent Tablighi personalities such as Tariq Jameel feature on an extensive range of Internet videos and often appear on TV.
Tabligh Jamaat attracted significant public and media attention when it announced plans for the largest mosque in Europe to be built in London, United Kingdom.

History

The emergence of Tablighi Jamaat represented the intensification of individual reformation aspects of the original Deobandi movement. It was also a continuation of the broader trend of Islamic revival in India in the wake of the collapse of Muslim political power to the Maratha Empire and the subsequent consolidation of the British rule.
The emergence of Tablighi Jamaat also coincided closely with the rise of various Hindu proselytising movements (such as Shuddhi (purification) and Sanghatan (consolidation) ) which launched massive efforts in the early twentieth century to reconvert Hindus who had converted to Islam and Christianity.

Origin

Muhammad Ilyas, the founder of Tablighi Jamaat, wanted to create a movement that would 'enjoining good and forbidding evil' as the Qur'anic decreed,^] and as his teacher Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi dreamed of doing. The inspiration for this came during his second pilgrimage to Mecca in 1926.^[22] What he lacked in scholarly learning, presence, charisma or speaking ability, he made up for in zeal. He initially tried to establish a network of mosque-based religious schools to educate the Mewati Muslims about Islamic beliefs and practices. Shortly afterwards, he was disappointed with the reality that these institutions were producing religious functionaries but not preachers^.
Ilyas abandoned his teaching post at Madrasah Mazahir Uloom in Saharanpur and became a missionary. He relocated to Nizamuddin near Delhi, where this movement was formally launched in 1926 or 1927 When setting the guidelines for the movement, he sought inspiration from the practices adopted by Muhammad at the dawn of Islam. Muhammad Ilyas put forward the slogan, Urdu: "!اﮮ مسلمانو! مسلمان بنو"‎, "O muslims, become muslims!". This expressed the central focus of Tablighi Jamat: their aim to renew Muslims socially by uniting them in embracing the lifestyle of Muhammad. The movement gained a following in a relatively short period and nearly 25,000 people attended the annual conference in November 1941.
At the time, some Muslim Indian leaders feared that Muslims were losing their religious identity to the majority Hindu culture. The movement was never given any name officially, but Ilyas used to call it Tahrik-i Imaan.
The Mewat region where TJ started around Delhi was inhabited by the Meos, a Rajput ethnic group, some of whom had allegedly converted to Islam, and then re-conversion to Hinduism when Muslim political power declined in the region, lacking the necessary acumen (according to one author, Ballard) required to resist the cultural and religious influence of Hindus, prior to the arrival of Tablighi Jamaat.

Six principles

TJ jamaat visit a village or neighborhood, invite the local Muslims to assemble in the mosque and present their message in the form of Six Principles. These six principles were derived from the lives of the companions of Muhammad. It is said in one narration, "My Sahabah are like guiding stars, whosoever follows one of them will be guided." Muhammad Ilyas articulated six demands in the form of Six Principles which are quintessential to Tablighi Jamaat's teachings. These six principles are:

Kalimah: Imaan - An article of faith in which a Muslim accepts that there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his last messenger".
Salat: "Prayer - Five daily prayers that are essential to spiritual elevation, piety, and a life free from the ills of the material world"
Ilm and Zikr: "The knowledge and remembrance of Allah - conducted in sessions in which the congregation listens to preaching by the emir, performs prayers, recites the Quran and reads Hadith from the books comprising Riyadhu As-Salehin,Muntakhab Ahadith (Collection of authentic Ahadith without commentry),Hayatus Sahaba and Fadhaa'il-e A'maal Vol 1 & 2 and other books.
Ikraam-e-Muslim: "Honoring a Muslim - The treatment of fellow Muslims with honor and deference"
Ikhlas-e-Niyyat: "Sincerity of Intention - Reforming one’s life in supplication to Allah by performing every human action for the sake of Allah and toward the goal of self-transformation"
Dawat-o-Tableegh (Dawah): "Inviting and Preaching - The sparing of time to live a life based on faith and learning its virtues, following in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad, and taking His message door to door for the sake of faith.

The term hujra is especially prevalent in the predominantly Pashtun areas of Pakistan. Pashtun hujras are used mainly to entertain male guests in a household, although sometimes community hujras are also maintained by tribal units. In individual houses, the size and trappings of a hujra are sometimes indicative of family status.

As old as perhaps the Jirga itself is, Hujra is a community club situated in each village, each Khail (street) and some times owned by a well off family but shared by the whole community. Other than a place to accommodate collective ceremonies, male members of the community who hang out and associate like a larger family regularly attend hujra(s). Members of a Hujra are mostly close relatives but other people from neighborhood are also welcomed. Elderly people spend their day to enjoy hubble-bubble and chat over the tea, younger men in their spare time listen to the stories of elders anraise issues while the children keep playing around, waiting for a call from one of the elders to take a message or bring fresh tea. A guest house for male guests, Hujra also serves as a place to initiate Jirgas. Issues are put on the table, brainstormed and a consensus is

developed before the issue can be put to the wider community. Hujra is considered to be a secular place but closely associated with Hujra is the role of mosque in the neighborhood. Although there are few similarities between a mosque and a Hujra, the role of mosque has gained more importance recently due to many national and regional settings tilted towards Islamization. Additionally, the role of Hujra is diminishing from community life because of the economic trends, and a faster pace of life which allows little leisure time with people to spare for community based activities. Decay in the institution of Hujra is definitely affecting the efficacy of Jirga.

The Sulaimankhel (Pashto: سليمان خېل‎), or Suleiman Khel, are a Pashtun sub-tribe of the Ghilzai confederation. In the early 20th century, the tribe was recognized as generally pastoral.[1] In 1924, the Suleiman Khel joined in the Khost Rebellion initiated by the Mangal tribe.[2] The Suleiman Khel are one of the largest Ghilzai Pashtun sub tribes. Population of this tribe primarily lies in Pakistan and Afghanistan. According to Ghulab Mangal, former governor of Paktika Province, the Suleimankhel provided the majority of recruits for the Taliban in the province.[3] As a result, the level of Anti-Coalition Militia activities remain high in areas dominated by Suleiman Khel.[3] The bias of some sub-tribes toward the Taliban in part may be explained by their proximity to the Pakistan border and the influx of insurgents and the radical politics.[3] People of the tribe are ferocious and very fierce. They have been allied with the Hotaki in the past, and their traditional rivals include the Kharoti.[4] Principal sub-divisions of the Suleimankhel include the Khazarkhel, Alizai, Sulemanzai, and Jalalzai. Other sub-divisions include the Alikhel, the Nizamkhel, and the Shakhel. It is interesting to note that the Alikhel sub-tribe, which primarily lives in the northwest of Paktika, has been more cooperative with the central government and coalition forces.[3] The Nizamkhel and Shakhel also remain more supportive of the government, which may be explained in part by their rivalry with the Jalalzai.

With a population of at least 50 million, the Pashtun people are Afghanistan's largest ethnic group, and are also the second-largest ethnicity in Pakistan. Pashtuns are united by the Pashto language, which is a member of the Indo-Iranian language family, although many also speak Dari (Persian) or Urdu.
One important aspect of tradition Pashtun culture is the code of Pashtunwali or Pathanwali, which sets out standards for individual and communal behavior. This code may date back to at least the second century BCE, although undoubtedly it has undergone some modifications in the past two thousand years. Some of the principles of Pashtunwali include hospitality, justice, courage, loyalty and honoring women.
Interestingly, the Pashtuns do not have a single origin myth. Since DNA evidence shows that Central Asia was among the first places peopled after humans left Africa, the ancestors of the Pashtuns may have been in the area for an incredibly long time - so long that they no longer even tell stories of having come from someplace else. The Hindu origin story, the Rigveda, which was created as early as 1700 BCE, mentions a people called the Paktha who lived in what is now Afghanistan. It seems likely that the Pashtun have been in the area for at least 4,000 years, then, and probably far longer
Most Pashtuns today are Sunni Muslims, although a small minority are Shi'a. As a result, some aspects of Pashtunwali seem to derive from Muslim law, which was introduced long after the code first developed. For example, one important concept in Pashtunwali is the worship of a single god, Allah.
Famous Pashtun people in history include the Ghaznavids, the Lodi family, who ruled the fifth iteration of the Delhi Sultanate, and current Afghan president Hamid Karzai.
