Before & After: Levenger Broad to Stub

I had a customer send me a few Levenger nibs recently. Two of them were already stubbed and he just wanted them tuned a bit. But the third was a broad round point that he wanted ground into a stub. No problem there. Take a look at the before and after pics to see what a difference a stub can make!

The pen is in very good condition with only a very small chip on the ball of the clip. The included threaded converter insures a secure attachment while still being able to accept the common international sized cartridge. The black coated steel nib comes as a factory 1.1mm stub with moderate flow that’s smooth and provides excellent line variation. $60

PRICE REDUCED – For Sale: Vintage Aurora 88P Mint in Box w/ Papers

For sale is a vintage Aurora 88P with a 14k gold Medium nib with no flex. The 88P was the third generation of the 88 and was manufactured from 1958 to 1964. This pen was probably made around 1962-63 based on its’ serial number of 3162251 and that the 88P sold 3.8 million units. This particular 88P has a slight discrepancy between the number on the section and what’s printed on the Warranty Certificate which reads 3162261. My only explanation for this is that the “5″ on the section looks very similar to a “6″ and was misprinted on the warranty.

The hood, barrel, and piston knob are all made from celluloid. The ink window is crystal clear and by far the clearest I’ve ever seen on any 88. The piston is the original unit and in great working order. I’m not sure this pen has ever been inked. Of course I can’t say with 100% accuracy that it hasn’t been inked, but there was no evidence of ink when I flushed it with water, there’s no ink in the threads of the barrel where the section attaches, and the inside of the cap is as clean as a brand new pen.

The cap is in mint condition. There’s not a mark on it. Even the papers are crisp and free of any creases, folds, or tears. This is the nicest example of an Aurora 88P I’ve ever seen and as close to new old stock as you’ll probably be able to get. ~~$330~~ On sale for $300.

[SOLD] Price Reduced: Parker Vacumatic w/ Stacked Coin Capband

This Q4 1942 Junior Vacumatic has a slight variation of the Jeweler’s Band commonly known as the ‘stacked coin’ capband. This capband was also used on other Junior sized pens such as the Shadow Wave and Vacufold in 1942. Pens with these capbands were not advertised in Parker catalogs and were only available through jewerley stores which makes them less common than your standard Junior Vac. This pen is in excellent condition with wonderful clarity and a crisp barrel imprint. I have restored it so it works like new. The moderate flow of the smooth, fine nib provides a satisfying writing experience. ~~$165~~ ~~$130~~ SOLD
