Password Incorrect

The moment you begin switching between Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Tumblr and Facebook is the moment you start to have problems with communicating with the others. How come? Because you lose control over how you communicate at all. Too many identities, too many information channels, too many repeated messages. One focused word to describe it: chaos.

And it doesn't matter many people nowadays understand English, if they have to chase themselves through social media.

Look at the first #1picstory. It was a disaster

After creating more than 100 stories on an iPhone it's easy to look back and say: ouch!

If you compare two stories: a recent one and the first one, you'll spot a difference. It gives a comfortable feeling associating those fantastic moments when you realize you're improving.

The first story was created on an iPhone 3G, was called "Snowball" and I tweeted it via Mobypicture on the 4th of January 2010. I still like the idea, but the look is just terrible...

"Monty Python in the digital times"

I've received recently an e-mail with such an opinion about my geek-fiction stories from Password Incorrect:

"Your stories are like Monty Python in the digital times."

It was so encouraging! It's always great to hear such an opinion. I'm a great fan of The Pythons, my stories are filled with surreal ideas and absurdity, but I'd never ever use such a brave comparison to describe them.

There must be something about the sense of humor, though, as both Password Incorrect and Failure Confirmed are selling much better in UK than in US.

Blogging in times of oversharing - an example

This is getting insane and I just want to write it down.

One of the most popular posts at my blog with tips for writers and readers of e-books, 40 tools for authors, got a huge coverage on Twitter immediately after I had published it. Within a couple of hours it was shared more than 40 times.

The thing is that the number of views at that time was no more than 30. The power of social media, damn it.

This is the extreme example, but the trend is that your blog posts will be more and more shared - and less and less read.

A Twitter share button with the high number of tweets doesn't say many people read the post. It only says many people share it.

Oversharing is what's eating Twitter from inside.
