The fall and winter months are ideal for observing how trees grow. Without the leaves it is easier to see how the trunks and branches twist and turn. The highlight of the trip was the couple of giant weeping willows with a perfect stone bench underneath their boughs. It's a magical spot in the late afternoon, a hideaway of golden light.
