David,

You are antichrist by John's definition. (see 2 John 1)

Takis, Richee, and Phillip: Keep the faith - God's faith - a gift to you upon spiritual resurrection into the true body of Christ on earth. Men and women, such as David and Ann and Livy cannot understand a thing you write to them, They have not been born again. They are dead in their sins and trespasses. They follow their own hearts and judge by their own carnal experiences. Superstition is the closest they will ever get to spirituality so long as they remain dead. Pray that God changes their hearts. (See Deuteronomy 4:29)

The organization Freedom Begins Here has turned these stats into what they call The 20/50 Crisis, 20 representing the 20% of Christian women struggling, and 50 representing the 50% of Christian men. Depending on your background those numbers either shock you or don't surprise you at all. It really is a crisis we have on our hands. I agree with Stephen that we need to confront this head on! Check out what Freedom Begins Here (www.freedombeginshere.org) is doing to raise awareness and equip church leaders with resources to help themselves as well as their churches. www.

Takis,
Like you I do enjoy a good debate and I am not offended by your words and spirit. I was a Christian believer for over 20 years. I was a minister and have witnessed to hundreds of people. As one grows and learns one has a responsibility to exercise that experience and knowledge. The fact is that all religions have an origin. If you know the actual history of Christianity one would understand that it was not a holy endeavor. War, politics, manipulation and the quest for power are a part of the history as well as the needs to form a beneficial society and deal with human needs (spiritual and physical). There have been systems of worship since the beginning of mankind. They were useful tools in creating order in societies. The best practices of pre-Christian religions have been passed on throughout the years and today Christianity is a mix of several religions and practices. Not unlike other religions.
These are just the facts as we know them and they are noy to be ignored because of our religious beliefs. God gave us brains and the power to think and reason. It is important that we maximize that gift. I am not hear to denounce religion or Christianity. I would like to help bring it out of the dark ages of superstition and useless dogma. God also gave us love, faith, virtue and patience. In that spirit I thank you for your comments and your faith.

John MacArthur did a great job of explaining his point, as he so often does. Though we have lost a number of our great Christian leaders lately including my own pastor Dr. DJK, John still says what he truely believes is Scripturally true rather than worrying about which way the wind is blowing.

You know I think it was the Apostle Paul who wrote about not wrangling over words. The problem is that while we discuss the minutia we miss 2 important things. First, we miss the God we're talking about. We are treating Him like this football we intellectually toss about. Second, we miss those He cares so deeply about. This is easily one of the reasons why the church is perceived as ridiculous and irrelevant. Don't get me wrong. Words matter. However, conversations like this matter less when we really think about the enormity of God and the millions that have no relationship with him.

The best way to get involved in missions is to seek the Lord in what direction to take concerning missions, at our church we have planted seven churches in india and have built an orphanage and school that curently has about sixty young girls. God commanded us to go into all the world and preach the gospel unto every creature. Another way would be to raise up missionaries in your own church and send them to the place that God would direct. Bringing video and pictures to the congregation on the work that your church is involved in helps and especially if you take some of them with you to the area that you support will change their lives forever.

Dear Fellow Christians;

The Bible does not say "the elect" will be "deceived" the verse says; Matthew 24:24 "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, IF IT WERE POSSIBLE, they shall deceive the very elect."

IF IT WERE POSSIBLE TO DECEIVE THE ELECT; we would all be lost for sure !

Jesus said; John 10:28 "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, NEITHER SHALL ANY MAN PLUCK THEM OUT OF MY HAND."

While the "deception" is so very "cunning" because it is "that old serperent the devil" who is the author of this Spiritual Formation of the Emerging Church movement, those who believe The Word of God fully can never be deceived ! This is Christ's promise which will never fail ! This Spiritual Formation of The Emerging Church Movement is the "SPIRITUAL EXECISES OF IGNATIUS LOYOLA ; FOUNDER OF THE JESUIT ORDER" it is "ROMAN CATHOLIC MYSTICISM; PANTHEISM; & HYPNOSIS"; and an all out attack by The Catholic Church to destroy PROTESTANTISM. They have almost succeeded but; PRAISE GOD, THE DEVIL CAN NOT DECEIVE OR DESTROY THE "ELECT"; "NO MAN" SAYS CHRIST; "CAN PLUCK THEM OUT OF MY HAND". Beleive His Holy Word and obey it and you will not be deceived !

Love in Christ Our Lord & Saviour

...actually, from what i have read, this was the "last resort" after over 2 years of problems, pleadings, attempts at reconciliations, etc.

The logical conclusion of what you are saying is that Christian relationships cannothave enforced boundaries - they should just take everything that comes their way, even it is happening to someone else (ie. when "turn the other cheek" does not apply).

CMI are insisting to AiG that they be respected and loved, and that the wrong done to them be corrected and repented from; Carl Weiland was not wrong is protecting the ministry, as he cannot turn the cheeks of others...No, he is obligated to protect the cheeks of others against abuse!

I graciously suggest that your comments are ill-informed andover-simplified; if you were actually to look into the matter (there is A LOT of official notes around) you may see this matter very differently.

David,
I would not mind to be schooled. As a matter of fact I am still being schooled. It seems that the history you accept is one of so called "intelectual school", and not of the open mind. I grew up as a Greek Orthodox and I was indulging in all the teachings and traditons of my ancestors. Proud as I could be about my nationality, my religion, and my history. Then I was chalenged by the truth. I had to decide if christianity, after all, was the truth and if so, then which sect? I searched for a good while in all religions including the religion of atheism, and the religion of materialism. Then I made my desicion. I have seen the other side. I have tasted the "food" that it serves. I was there right beside you walking in the darkness of human pride believing anything that any intelctual would serve me, and then..... Oh then I met Jesus! You cannot judge what you do not know. You cannot have an opinion of what you have not tasted. You are still there on the other side all "grown up" by the mind of man that has no answers for the past, the present,or the future. Just because my previous post was painfull to you it does not mean that I have not studied the sciences and still studying.
My friend (if you allow me) There is no difference between you and me. I believe that, "In the begining God..." you belive that, "in the begining ....... (fill the blank)".
I am a believer and so are you in your own unrevealed past of your existance as a human being.
Thank you for responding. I would not mind hearing from you again. There are other sites that discuss the origins of man and of his existance on this earth. If there is any need to discuss further we can communicate. Please use plain English as it is my second language.

I pray you understand my spirit and not be offended. I am a Greek and love to debate as all of us here do.
