Are you bored with Christianity? Are you tired of the same old thing week after week, month after month? Go to church, read your Bible, pray, just to do it all over again. Don’t get me wrong, you still love God. It just seems as if its all lifeless and well... boring. Part of the reason you may feel that way is because you are only obeying half of the commandments. Jesus said in Matthew 22 that there were two commandments that were greater than all the others and would sum up the the Old Testament. The first was love God, which you are doing (right?). The second was to love your neighbor as yourself. What does that mean? That means that if we aren’t loving the people around us like we love ourselves than we are missing out on half of the adventure of serving God. In the book of James, he mentions that the stuff we do for God, like loving our neighbors, is the supreme expression of our faith (our loving God). Simply put, Jesus loves us so we love Him. Jesus loves us so we love those He loves, our neighbors. If your walk with God seems a little dry lately try fulfilling both the commandments and watch as things get really exciting.

See you Sunday night at Immerse!
Pastor Matt

Wow, I really missed getting to be at Immerse this last Sunday night. Tiffany was not feeling well good at all and we ended up spending nine hours at the hospital. No worries though, she is feeling much much better. I want to thank the other leaders for stepping up and handling things with so little notice. They are an amazing group of people! Anyway, we have lots of exciting things coming soon. This Sunday we are having our “Spring Fling” which involves a bonfire, free food, games, music, and more. You definitely won’t want to miss that. Then next weekend we are headed for Acquire the Fire. If you haven’t got signed up for that yet its not too late. That weekend at Immerse we are going to have a baptismal service and discuss all the great things that happened at Acquire The Fire. Then next month we are starting a brand new series called “Reach” which you won’t want to miss. Needless to say there are a lot of really exciting things coming up and I can’t wait to see you all there!

Have a great rest of the week,
Pastor Matt

Last Sunday night at Immerse we talked about the danger of lying to ourselves. Convincing ourselves that something is true, when in all reality it's an outright lie. The biggest lie that some people in America, in the Church, and in youth groups tell themselves is that they know God, when the truth is they know God about as well as they know President Obama. They may know a few facts about him, but really they don’t know him. In 1 John 2:3 it says, “Now by this we know that we know Him (God), if we keep His commandments.” How do you know if you have a relationship with God? Simple... Do you do what He tells you to do? I encourage you this week to start to do a little self-interrogation. Do I really know God? Do I obey Him? Do I have a close relationship with Him? If you find out the answer is no, then change it. Tell God that you’re sorry that you don’t have much of a relationship with Him but that you want to start, today!

See you guys this weekend,
Pastor Matt
