There is a ton of sample codes out there on StackOverflow or GitHub that help to create Flask API and allow authentication for this API.

I’m not very good in embedding part of the code in a post, so I will just leave the code here and the post to be edited later.

In this post, I will cover a way to create the Flask API, allow authentication on this API with username and token saved in MySQL Database.

I will also show how I managed to control the registered users’ credit so that each user has a credit score to use the API. This credit can be reset each month through a separate function not showing in the sample code.

I will also show in the code how to add and remove a background task and set a run time for it.

Python environment

One of the problems I recently faced when I started exploring Anaconda Navigator, was that it comes with its own Python environment.

I was using Sublime Text and had my Python environment stable with all needed libraries. Once Anaconda is installed, all my old projects on Sublime reported missing libraries.

I found that the common practice is to force Sublime to use Anaconda environment, which was exactly the opposite of what I needed. I needed Anaconda to use previously existing Python environment.

To do so, I had to comment all Anaconda added lines in .bash_profile file. Open it in the terminal via (open -e .bash_profile) and comment all Anaconda lines and viola.

Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) 5 Agilist Certificate

That one took almost one year to consider taking the course itself. I really don’t know why, but I encourage everyone to think about Scaled Agile courses.

It was my first time to take a course aiming to pass a course but according to Scaled Agile it’s mandatory. Previously I managed to self study everything, but the experience really worth tto try.

The course was organized in Dubai by Manish by Daily Agile, one of the great instructors I met, and the class was only 5 candidates. On a period of 2 days from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, a flood of questions was going through that made the course very insightful.

PMI-ACP Certificate

Finally and after a very long time, I have made what I have considered harder than the PMP, and I was wrong.

It starts with an unexpected course to earn PDUs for PMP certificate renewal, a friend of mine recommended Joseph Phillips course on udemy. I took the course and reported the PDU but never thought to set for the exam until I got a promotional mail from PMI with 150$ discount on exam fees. I started studying again and submitted my PMI-ACP exam application.

I got the audit, sent the documents and failed in that one, I managed to submit again and after a customer care complaint, I got through the audit process.

Another friend of mine recommended some materials for real exam questions, although it wasn’t the same as the exam it helped a lot.

I would list the projects I used in my application, I had a hard time finding the correct format to fill the project details but ended us with the below projects. Have a deep look and map the same criteria I used;

The project aimed to reduce telecom hardware expenditure by 25% through the TRA Benchmark program. The project nature was integration between Planning, Capacity and Deployment teams to utilize the suitable hardware for the required expansions. The planning requirements was evolving based on drive tests iterations.

The challenge was collaboration needed to work together in the team to lower risks and reduce bottlenecks. I focused on creating an environment where each team member can raise risk or issues and made sure to improve team processes by conducting frequent retrospectives. I kept updating the forecast to a certain level of details based on the progressive elaboration of the requirements as we move forward.

The expansion plan was divided per region to provide shippable hardware BoQ shared with deployment teams allowing revision in case of field actions limitations. The delivery schedule was set to be4 weeks allowing continuous improvements of the technical aspects used.

Frequent verification and validation were done with the Planning team resulting in 32% reduction were achieved.

This project aimed to deploy FLTE TDD in the telecom network for VIP clients on GPON waiting list. The challenge of the project was to clear the waiting list which was dynamic and evolving based on market needs. The project was handed over to me due to some issues with the customer “Retail team” complaining about the delivery of the project.

My initial assessment revealed that there was a trust issue as the customer was not engaged.I build the strategy around the transparency principle of agile delivery by creating information radiators followed by posting sticky notes for project activities on the wall of the room.The customer representatives started to see the different aspects of the project, and what was rendered on the wall is matching what we were doing.

As the project continues problems, risks, issues and achievements were clear to the customer on the information radiator through each frequent delivery, allowing for proper validation and verification.

Professional Scrum Master

Months ago I started to think what is the scrum and how it works within an organization to best achieve projects deliverables. I had a colleague who helped me understand the main concept of Sprints and I found it a very interesting article to read about. Later I found myself start thinking in a way of how to adopt sprints in my own work. It was neither successful nor mature enough to deliver the needs. From that point, I started to read more and answer some questions from here and there. Until I decided to set for a PSM I exam in June 2019.

…The certificate has no expiry date :).

The above video is an introduction to the Scrum framework that can explain more, and in details, about the Scrum itself. I admit that watching videos can deliver the information in a way better than just reading notes or blog posts, so I added this video which is a bit longer than expected but with tons of knowledge about Scrum.

This framework is very simple to understand but hard to be implemented. That is one thing that all Scrum members “Product Owner, Scrum Master or Scrum development team” agreed on. And it’s very obvious through the exam which is full of case scenarios that will actually help to demonstrate the knowledge and how to implement.

I also added the resources I used to study and prepare for the exam in this post. Which is primarily starts with the Scrum Guide, that is 19 pages long and in an easy to understand vocabulary. This guide will maximum takes 5 days to read and understand, but exam simulation resources will take much longer to achieve 100% before sitting for the exam “don’t think about sitting for the exam if you scored less than 100%”.

Mikhail Lapshin – highly recommended by almost everyone who knows about Scrum, even on Scrum forums.
Internet80 Exam Simulator – I found it very similar to the exam questions.
The Scrum Master Practice Assessment – 20 Questions that in a way or another will help you.
Scrum Training Series – Simplified videos that will help you understand the Guide if you find it difficult at any certain point.



I would recommend going through Scrum.org and exploring the learning pathways too. This is not a single certificate that has no expiry date, but a pathway that is well-recognized in business, maybe more in the IT domain than other ICT.

VPN Up, time to say Goodbye

As per Apple new rules for its App Store, an individual developer account can not anymore publish VPN applications. And as I’m an individual with an individual account, I can’t publish or even “update” VPN Up anymore.

We didn’t like it, and we will never. But will have to stick to the rules anyway.
