<p><strong>Job Description and Salary:</strong></p>
<p>ArentFox Schiff LLP is seeking a Patent Litigation Associate or Attorney with 7+ years of experience to join our San Francisco office. The ideal candidate will have substantial patent litigation experience at both the U.S. District Court and the International Trade Commission, including trials, motions, depositions, expert reports, and discovery management. Additional requirements include exceptional writing skills. We are open to candidates with any technology background.</p>
<p>Trademark litigation experience or a demonstrated interest in trademark litigation is a plus, though not required.</p>
<p>ArentFox Schiff LLP offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits. Interested candidates should submit a resume, law school transcript, and a writing sample.</p>
<p>The good faith base salary range for this position is a minimum of $160,000 to a maximum of $375,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of relevant experience, education, applicable bar admissions, and the candidate’s overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a comprehensive bonus program with opportunities for discretionary incentives that may include productivity, business development, and merit-based components, subject to applicable policies.</p>

<p><strong>Who you are:</strong></p>
<p>You have an undying love for people and supporting inventors and team members with the highest level of quality, high-touch service. Ideally, you’ll also be a good mix of the following:</p>

Registered USPTO Patent Agent with an industry or academic background in medical devices and software with some experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or related technical disciplines. Illustrative subject matter includes patent preparation and prosecution projects with emerging companies focused on domains including software employing artificial intelligence, software-enabled medical devices, mechanical medical devices, catheters, consumer devices, fitness equipment, etc.</li>
<li>Quality-focused, highly efficient practitioner. 4+ years as a patent agent who is technically skilled and comfortable drafting and reviewing utility and design patent applications that exceed client expectations.</li>
<li>Insatiable tech geek. Ability to review and analyze technically complex documents, including scientific papers, patents, and technical specifications.</li>
<li>Hyper-organized, crisp communicator. Excellent organizational, verbal communication, and writing skills.</li>
<li>Intuitive collaborator. Team player with proven ability to work with dynamic and diverse groups of engineers, inventors, and business and strategy teams.</li>

<p>This is a fully remote, full-time or part-time role (your choice) with a flexible work week. <li>Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and related innovations.</li>

<li>Strong organizational and prioritization skills with a proven ability to manage and meet deadlines for multiple projects at the same time.</li>
<li>Demonstrated attention to detail.</li>
<li>Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.</li>
<li>Knowledge of foreign patent prosecution procedures preferred.</li>

<li>Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a similar degree from an accredited college or university, required.</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years of experience in patent prosecution in a law firm or corporate legal department, preferred.</li>
<li>2 years of experience in a mechanical engineering role, preferred.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.</li>
<li>Occasional lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Compensation &amp; Benefits:</strong></p>
<p>We offer a competitive salary. The salary range reflects various factors considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, education, licensure, and/or certifications, and other job-related factors. A reasonable estimate for someone hired into this position is $120,000 to $210,000.</p>
