Redesigning the Wraithknight - Part 1

This is part one in a multi-part series that is going to look at making some changes to the Wraithknight model. Something about the kit doesn't sit right with me. It feels as though some of the Eldar design elements were put together in a haphazard way - as though someone were told what the Eldar design schema was, but without ever seeing an Eldar model. I'm not saying it's a terrible model, but I think with a little work it can look just as good as it's larger cousins the Phantom and Revenant titans.

In the end, it should make it look more like an Eldar Knight, rather than a wraith construct.

The first thing I'm going to be changing is the vanes/fins on the back to resemble more along the lines of the Sonic Lance Revenant and the Eldar Phantom titan. This will slightly increase the height of the model at the tips by about an inch, as I am sticking to the proportions of the other titans as reference.

Here is a Farseer on the new jetbike that I have converted. It's the same as the warlock and other jetbikes I have already made from Dark Eldar Reaver conversions.

I'm not even sure if this will be a valid option in the new Codex, but since we're not getting any new jetbikes with the new book, I've decided to go out in full force making all of my jetbikes like this. More to come at a later date once I have the codex picked up...

Like my other tables, this one can be assembled multiple ways so that the battlefield will not be static. Or it can be assembled as a 4'x8' table.

The end piece was designed so it will fit flush against the other tiles in the event we want to combine multiple tables together.

There are 5 different ways to assemble this table to make a 4'x6' playing surface, but not all are shown here.

I'm nearly ready to get this thing painted and surfaced.

Dias of Destruction - WIP

One of the things I noticed about the Raider model and the Fire Prism turret is the lines on the panels are almost identically spaced. Not only that, but the shape of the curves seemed to fit in nicely.

This is how I got my idea for the Dias of Destruction. I also used a Reaper to help the entire process. I modified the prow though, and made a bunch of other changes. I also added a throne to the back for Vect to sit himself upon.

Scratchbuilt Malcador Painting WIP

Just putting some paint to one of my scratch built Malcador tanks. Yes, the main gun can rotate horizontally and traverse up and down a bit.

It's not exactly the same as the Forgeworld model, but it is close enough and clearly represents a Malcador, so I'm quite happy with how this has turned out so far.

It needs more work for painting though.

Dark Eldar Reaper - WIP

My Dark Eldar are also getting reinforcements this year. I've mostly been lacking in Heavy support choices for my army, and I decided that I wanted to add something a little fun into the mix by using a Reaper. With the advent of hull points, the Storm Vortex Projector has only gotten better.

I've got some more painting to do on this yet.

I'm also toying around with putting a couple Storm Vortex Projectors on the Rapier super heavy.

Scratch Built Malcadors

I'm working on getting some support for my Imperial Guard army for this year's Apocalypse game. Rumors are pointing to the new edition of Apocalypse being out for summer and I'm just getting prepared.

One of these Malcadors is actually a stand in for a Macharius Omega. I decided to create a Omega pattern plasma cannon and mount it on the Malcador chassis since I already had the template for the hull.

The other Malcador will have twin-linked lascannons in the turret. I'm planning on around 4-6 tanks using the Malcador hull, but I'm not sure which variants I will use just yet. There will be at least a couple with Omega plasma cannons though.
