Greetings from Austin!
I know I have not posted on my blog in awhile, but to be completely honest, I haven't had much to post about! I have been doing lots of web design and development lately, and I have begun to get some new equipment for my studio. (YAY!)
I updated my software, got a new mic, and am getting a new input device soon. (Still going over my options. )
So what does that mean? Yep, it means I'm going to start recording a new album. It'll go slow like the last one did, as I do stay very busy doing lots of different things, but IT'S HAPPENING! I've got some songs written and laid down.

As far as style for this upcoming album goes, I am not really sure what to do. Any suggestions?

Well, I have to go do some more coding and work related stuff. :D And put some earbuds in to block out this slow jazz at starbucks! IDK why, but I am not a fan of slow jazz.

Of Music and Pizza...

So, what a bizarre title, huh?!? If you know me well, you know that I LOVE MUSIC and PIZZA!! Well, I love playing music, but writing it? I'm not so good at it. It's a hard thing to do, you know what I mean? It can be a challenge to express feeling through static data. Music? Well, it's pretty easy to convey emotion with sound. So I don't like the writing process as much as the music-playing process. What to do? Well, I've made a bargain with myself. For every GOOD song I write words to, I get a free piece of pizza!! (By free, I mean that I'm paying for it. Wait.. that means.. Forget it, its to complicated for my ability to comprehend.)

Whatdya think? Good idea?

Next on the list is live performance. I've been playing it low where those are concerned this year. I've only done around 10-15 smaller ones. My life has suddenly become so busy with work and scrambling to finish high school that I've had little time for doing anything outside of work, eat, sleep, school, etc. (OK, I make time for Facebook. maybe I need a priority check.) Anyhow, I am hoping to calm things down soon (overbooked myself by taking on some web-development clients while also working my day job.) Once I get those sites done, I should have some free time to do some stuff!!! So I'm hoping to get a few shows on the road soon. If your church, youth group, or venue wants me to play, please shoot me an email @ booking@patrickcoffeymusic.com. Either me or my booking manager will get back with you soon. :)

Did I mention that I got in a newspaper? Yeah, that was pretty cool. Regretfully I don't read the newspaper, so I never saw the paper version. (just the online version.)

My Life Is Always New

Yo, Sup?
OK, so that was a weird greeting, but I needed to change up my style a bit. :) (Not really, I'm just being weird.)

My apologies for not writing blog posts much lately, I've found myself busy with my job (in case you are wondering, I work at a small company as a web developer, maintaining sites like this. P.S, no you can't get an account, people pay a $10,000 to get into that site. ;D )
So, I've been pretty busy keeping up with that, finishing up my highschool, and getting some college in line for my next-steps. I HAVE been doing some CD signings lately, which have gone super fantastic. (In fact I'm all out of CDs and need to get my label to ship some more!) However, for now, I've tried to cut down on the live performances for the time being, until I get a little more established in my web development career.

I've also been working on building up my studio, getting some new equipment, etc, and I've taken a short break from audio engineering to have a little breather so that I can come back and hit it hard with a fresh level of art. I have been writing some new songs, and I've actually performed a couple live, which went quite well, so I'm excited to get those down into some hard-set tracks. :)

As I've always said, written, sang, and (to the best of my ability) lived, we Christians must live our lives completely for Christ. That means all of our talents need to produce something that glorifies Him. well, I've been working on doing that in the web-nerd-programming section of my life, and I have an EXCITING SITE that I've been building for you all. I am SUPER EXCITED to announce it, and I'd tell you all about it RIGHT NOW!!! except for the fact that it's not ready yet. :) So hopefully by this weekend, I'll have it up for you. I'll spare you the details until it's tangible. :)

Holla Amigos!
Just wanted to let you know that I have a NEW FACEBOOK FAN PAGE! :D
It's actually kind of a bummer because Facebook deleted my other account for some odd reason. I had about 300 fans, but now I have to start at ground 0 again. :( Oh well, life happens, eh?

Website Changes!

As you probably cansee, I have been doing some extreme updates on my website. New functionality is coming up, including a store, "media room", and perhaps even an area where ya'll can upload those photos you've been snapping at the concerts I've been playing. :)
