As well as the web graphics.

This station has been an inextricable part of my creative process over the years,

so it was a perfect opportunity to give back the best way I could.

(I tried answering phones during last fall’s drive and that just stressed me out)

Peace Through Pie is a budding, grassroots non-profit based in Austin TX that is combining what I feel are two essentials in life: Peace and Pie. Using the pie social as a catalyst the group aims to bring together communities and groups to promote peace and positive social change.

A friend who is doing some marketing and program-building work for the group introduced me to Peace Through Pie. When I visited their site I experienced one of those rare moments when an idea hits you all at once as the perfect solution. Within an hour I put together a logo design and sent it off to my friend, completely unsolicited, and told her if they ever did a refresh and wanted to use the design I’d be more than happy to pass it along to them. My friend liked it and sent it off to Luanne Stovall, Peace Through Pie’s creator and tireless promoter.

Not long after, I met Luanne in Seattle and was taken by her energy and enthusiasm around this movement she was creating. We had a great conversation and she loved the logo. For her it hit on many levels. It was one of those times when lives and ideas intersect and engage the strengths of individuals to create something whole and new.

I’m currently working with Rachel Wright of Archijive and PtP on a brand new program that will be released soon, so…more to come.
