At the beginning of July 2012, the "GayAffairsPattaya" website (amongst others) was "infected" by a virus and subsequently over 2,000 pages of reports and photos (include the sexy asian guys galleries) were lost.

The www.gayaffairspattaya.com domain is now active as the Gay Affairs Pattaya blog and contains news and photos from gay Pattaya and Thailand.

Any links in this blog to the old Gayaffairs website will subsequently produce an error page stating that the page cannot be found plus some images will also be missing.

As the GayAffairs blog and this blog were running parallel it has been decided to add no further posts (after this post), but the site will stay "live", but will no longer be updated.

If you subscribe to updates here and wish to receive updates from www.gayaffairspattaya.com you will have to submit a new request on their home page.

Last Sunday night (July 15, 2013) Boyz Boyz Boyz in Pattaya's Boyz Town held the annual Mr. Pattaya Pride 2012 competition to help raise funds for the Pattaya Pride Charity. This is one of the major events in the charity's calender who help and support people with HIV and Aids through Heartt 2000.

Fun Fair and Exhibition at Hua Lamphong Railway Station on Saturday

The State Railway of Thaland is holding a fair, “Travel, See a Movie and Tell a Tale” that will take visitors down memory lane to an atmosphere reminiscent of the 1970′s and 1980′s.

The history of Thai rail is recounted through four zones: Hua Lamphong Rama, Sanam Luang, Platform, and Paper Doll. There will also be booths offering fun period activities.

The fair takes place from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Hua Lamphong, Rama IV Road on Saturday 30th June. Admission is free.

Bangkok Air Show 2012

On 29, 30 June and 2 July, there will be an Air Show at Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok. This marks the 100th anniversary of the Royal Thai Air Force.

The Air Show on Friday and Saturday takes place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Sunday there won’t be an air show but you can look at the aircraft. On Monday there will be an Air Show in the morning from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will arrive to watch the show “When Love is in the Air” which takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Pattaya Education Office is organizing the Patanque Pattaya 2012 event to be held over two consecutive weekends on June 23 and 30.

The competition is open to everyone and will be divided into several age and gender related categories. The tournament will take place at the Pattaya School No. 2 in Banglamung.

Entrance fees range from 100–300 baht depending on age and category and cash prizes and trophies will be presented to all the winners.

Open Auditions for 'Inspector Drake and the Perfekt Crime' by David Tristram

Pattaya Players (Home of Pattaya's Professional Amateurs) is proud to announce their upcoming audition for 'Inspector Drake and the Perfekt Crime' by David Tristram. There are 5 parts for 3 adult males and 2 adult females of varying ages.

Synopsis: When a genius commits murder, the plan is perfect. But is it foolproof? The legendary Inspector Drake is here to face his greatest ever challenge, as he attempts to unravel a plot with more twists in it than a Bavarian pretzel!

Auditions will be held at The Eastern Grand Palace Hotel at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. All interested parties both talent-wise and back stage should plan on attending. Character Descriptions (please note that casting ages are flexible):
Dr. Short – a genius scientist who is rather eccentric but not clever enough to beat the legendary Inspector Drake – middle aged male

Sergeant Plod – Old school dopey sergeant – any age male

Inspector Drake – Young & flirty, insistent on getting his leg over whenever possible. Needs to be an energetic and physically capable actor with excellent comedic timing necessary – male younger than the Sergeant

Sabrina – Dr. Short's daughter, (or is she?). Feisty and sassy. Fairly large role – any age female

Miss Short – Dr. Short's daughter (or is she?). Similar to Sabrina, but not as big of a part – any age female

60 Years a Queen

On Sunday 3rd June Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth will be celebrating her Diamond Jubilee to commemorate 60 years of The Queens reign. The Queen came to the throne on 6th February 1952 and her Coronation took place on 2nd June 1953.

Le Café Royale will be celebrating this auspicious occasion in it's own inimitable way and loyal subjects and all our friends are invited to join us.

The evening will commence at 7.30pm with a Best Of British Buffet and we will then be showing the River Thames Pageant live on the big screen from 8pm. As usual the patriotic evening will end with a rousing feast of Pomp,Circumstance and flag waving.

Phuket Pride 2012 update

Phuket Pride 2012 – April 22 to 28

The Phuket Loves You (PLU) Club in its first year of promoting a new way of Celebrating Pride, with the theme "Join our family," enabled our community to raise almost 300,000 baht which will be donated to various LGBT & HIV/AIDS charities or initiatives in Thailand. The following are the organizations and initiatives that will receive these donates: Andaman Power Phuket, The Life home Project Foundation Phuket, Patong Hospital, Phrabatnampu Temple in Bangkok and finally developing and implementing an awareness program for HIV/AIDS and STD for Paradise Soi.

These monies were raised from several events throughout the week and a special acknowledgement and thank you to the following businesses and individuals: Mr Gay Phuket competition run by Fong Kaew Mansions (125,000 Baht), Charity auction by Backstage Bar (50,000 Baht), Private collection by Mr. Barry and friends (42,000 Baht) and finally PLU Club events and donations.

Pride week consisted of various events such as an intercultural workshop, an educational film screening, four nights of street parties in Soi Paradise, a grand Pride parade through the streets of Patong and culminated in 2 day Big Stage event at the football field in Patong.

"Join our Family" theme challenged our community to become involved in creating and implementing this year's event. Special acknowledgement and thank you are given to the staff of Sundowners, Club One Seven and CC Bloom's Hotel, plus many of our Farang and Thai community members who contributed their time and effort to help make the 2 day Big Stage events and Pride Parade possible.

Given our effort to become more visible to our LGBT Community by having our event at the football field in Patong, we received a last minute donation of 50,000 baht from Mr. David P. Mitchelhill from Techasia Limited who stated that "anything that increases the visibility, acceptance and community spirit around the LGBT community on Phuket, both resident and visitors, can only be applauded." He further stated that "Techasia Limited would like to support your efforts for 2013 and be a corporate sponsor. We therefore will make a sponsorship payment of Baht 200,000 in support of Phuket Pride 2013."

PLU Club would also like to thank Patong Municipality and our many sponsors who, without their generous donations of money, time and media coverage, Pride week could not have taken place.

The Chair of the PLU Club Ken Miller said "despite only having four months to plan and having so many challenges thrown at us including a real Tsunami warning two weeks before and an internet rumor of another one on 28th April, it was through the dedication of everyone involved including those who attended the week's events and lined the streets of Patong to support our parade that we were able to keep the events on course. On behalf of the PLU Club and the Pride Committee, we would like to thank each and every one of them for supporting our events and community."

The aim of the PLU Club over the next few years is to widen the week's event; it is fully accepted that Patong is where the heart of our LGBT community lives but the soul of our community is located throughout Phuket Island. During the next few years it is hoped that PLU Club will hold Pride events throughout Phuket, bringing together the whole of Phuket's Thai and Farang LGBT communities as well as our non-gay supporters.

Pattaya Players present "Play On! Tickets now on sale

Pattaya Players to Present "Play On!"

The Pattaya Players are proud to announce that tickets are now on sale for their full length, laugh-a-minute production of "Play On!" by Rick Abbot. This production will run for two nights only on Friday, June 1st and Saturday, June 2nd. Directed by Ken Lund, this show within a show will delight patrons of all ages!

Amateur dramatics takes a good-natured ribbing in "Play On," Rick Abbot's 1980 comedy about the offstage and onstage antics of a community theater group. When the theatre group is offered the royalty-free play "Murder Most Foul" from new playwright Phyllis Montague, the group welcome the chance to put the theatre back into the black for the first time in years. The group tries desperately to put on the play, amid all kinds of maddening interference from its authoress, who keeps revising the script until almost opening night. During the actual performance anything that can go wrong does. At the curtain call, Phyllis decides to give a speech on the state of the modern theatre and what befalls her is the madcap climax to this hilarious romp!

"It's a theater group that's been together for years and years," Pattaya Players President Christopher Parsons says. "They're putting on an original play, and they're down to the last four days." The first act takes place at rehearsal, the second act, during dress rehearsal, and the last act is opening night. "Since so many things have been changed during rehearsals, they forget their lines and their entrances are late and early. It's a spectacular mess!" Parsons notes. What sets this 10-character comedy apart from popular Michael Frayn's "Noises Off," though, is that in the other play, the theatergoer has a backstage view; in "Play On," the show is performed to the audience. From either vantage, it means an inordinate amount of physical business to work out! "Play On" features a talented ensemble cast, including Cailin Terhaar, Chris Harman, Jenn Blais, Katie Austin, Patricia Smith, Mara Swankey, Nick Lewis, Rob DeWolfe, Wendy Khan and John Mocny.

Show times are at 7:00 p.m. (with dinner beginning at 5:00 p.m.) on Friday and Saturday, June 1-2. The "Over Love Music Festival 2012" was announced yesterday.

Many famous singers will gather to perform romantic love songs in the impressive surroundings of Silverlake.

Concert Organizer Chansrisorn Maneechai said there are 14 well-known singers such as Room 39, Friday, Sqweez Animal, and La Ong Fong who will perform at the concert.

185 Pattaya men conscripted to the military

More than 600 men from the Pattaya area recently attended the annual conscription event at Banglamung Community Centre.

"All Thai male nationals at age 21 must submit themselves for the draft, although many are turned away for not meeting physical requirements, excused for educational reasons or dismissed due to too many applicants," writes Vittaya Yoondron at www.pattayamail.com

This year's attendees were from Nongprue, Huay Yai, Nong Plalai, Khao Maikaew, Takientia, and Pong sub-districts.
