“Cracking the Code” is selling like gangbusters. We are already into our second printing. And Golfplan and Golfshot are some of the top selling sports apps on iTunes. Thank you so much to everyone for your support. This is a very busy and exciting time and I am thankful!

What an exciting week. After almost year and a half of brainstorming, writing, and countless edits, my book “Cracking the Code” is finally in stores. My wife, Toni, and I flew to Louisville for the book launch last week. The book has been received extremely well and it getting great reviews. It was so great to be back at Valhalla for the first time since the Ryder Cup in 2008.

While in Louisville, we had the opportunity to visit the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory for a book signing. This is the same place where Bionic Glove is made.

I arrived in Denver, Colorado on Sunday for my first Senior PGA Championship. The course is fantastic. Ben Crenshaw is an artist. However the one thing making practicing difficult is how hard the wind is blowing. The wind blew 60 mph on Sunday and 40-50 on Monday. I do feel prepared for the first time this year, even though I’ve only played 18 holes since the tournament in Savannah. Maybe I’ll play well enough to be on TV.

If I miss a lot of short puts in a round the first thing I do is run this drill. I take a bottle of water and put it front of the hole or actually in the hole. This relieves the pressure of trying to fit the ball into something. It gives you something more tangible to aim at. Check out the video below:

There is nothing like the rush of knowing you just hooked on a Tarpon. They are extraordinary game fish which is why I am excited to hear the good news from Capt. Mark Bradow. Threadfins are starting to show up in numbers off the beach. Where you have threadfins, you have big tarpon!

        -->

Just got off the phone with my good buddy, Capt. Mark Bradow, who is a great fishing guide. He told me that threadfins (bait fish) are showing up thick off the beaches and that means one thing….the Tarpon are coming! There is nothing better than casting to a pod of tarpon and hoping one will eat your bait. There are so many reasons to be on a boat on a Florida summer evening; feeling your bait on the end of the line freaking out because he sees the 100+lb. beast about to eat him; the explosion of the fish as he jumps out of the water and the sound of the reel as he peels line off. It is a rush to experience the silence of the water, in an instant it turns to chaos. I’ll be sure to post any pics or vids of the Silver Kings we run into this summer.

Check out this picture of a Louisiana jack I caught last week. It weighed 28 lbs.

I've been extremely busy this year. Between promoting my new book, Cracking the Code: The Winning Ryder Cup Strategy - Make it Work for You and my iPhone App: GolfPlan, I've been swamped.

        -->

This year’s calendar has a lot of writing on it. Seems like I have something scheduled everyday. I recently released an iPhone app “GolfPlan with Paul Azinger”, it is an app that golfers can use to improve their game. There are over 60 videos, all between 30 seconds and a minute long that are quick tips and drills. You can customize a GolfPlan by selecting the areas you want to improve in and a plan is scheduled for you. This app makes you practice with a purpose.

Currently I am working hard on advertising my new book “Cracking the Code: The Winning Ryder Cup Strategy: Make it Work for You.” It will be officially released May 18th. I have been working non-stop since I have received the books. I have talked with media, fans, and even signed 3,000 books in less than 10 hours. Along with Dr. Ron Braund, who helped with the strategy and co-authored the book, we reveal the team building strategy implemented for the victorious 2008 Ryder Cup team. I think many people will be surprised at some of the revelations.

Between the app, “Cracking the Code,” other business deals, and trying to play on the Champions Tour , there is hardly time to think. I really wish I could commit more to my golf game right now, but the business side has made it difficult. Oh, don’t forget to buy Post Cereal with my picture on it and you can enter to win a weekend with yours truly. I will keep you updated on my playing and appearance schedule, if I find the time…
