Controversial Song(丘老師ABC時間) & Malay song by Chinese Singer

Yesterday when I was surfing the net to find out more about the Mumbai attack, I was shocked by another news which mentioning about a new controversial song created by Ming Zi 黃明志. He was famous because of his song "Negarakuku", which insulted Malaysia government because he used the national antheme to "rap" about the society fact.

The recent controversial song created by him called 《丘老師ABC時間》，he was sued by his school and many are throwing anger bomb towards this latest production.

Vulgar words and sexual element was the major arguement from the public, as well as using his secondary school as background.

I would like to point out one things is - if you read all the negative comments and news before watching the video, 90% of the people will be influenced by those comments and feel the same way of bombarding him. To find out the true feeling from your inner heart, you need to ignore all the comments first, because different people has different point of view.

To me, the first 2 videos could be boring and nonsense (strickly speaking, the ugly man shouting the "ar ar ar" and the boobs picture covered with bra is not "porn" enough if you are looking for porn video), but it show the reality how chinese people speak today, and the low moral standard in today society, people do not care about content they speak, they just focus on expressing their anger.

But to many people, these videos are not "healthy". (because of the actor face? or because of the vulgar words) I think we dare not scold some one if they speak those vulgar/filthy word in front of you (directly or indirectly to you), but many people seems very mad at this video ? why ? Because he speak vulgar ? Or you think he ruin the name of the chinese?

Frankly speaking, I am not a fan of Ming Zi after all, but indeed I am proud of Ming Zi too, because he dare to voice out his view. Controversy sometimes is good, it makes people think and start to figure out where the problem is, people see him as problem maker, but I do not think so, he is just too provoking and agreasive when making his view known. But the real issue lies in the society whereby no one really go and dig it out and face it.

I am proud of chinese independent school, most of the student from there has great career, and better discipline. This thanks to the education system there. I admited that language is a problem, chinese is the main medium to teach, it is hard for everyone master two language at a time, especially the great difference in chinese and english. One has mentioned that we require different side of brains to study these two languages due to its personality.

After 6 years of study in chinese independent school, most of the students are good at science and math. But without great presentation and communication skill, you can't survive in the society. If we look at the bright side, chinese always has strong fighting spirit, I have my school mates work and stay in different country - US, England, Japan, Australia, Singapore, China, Taiwan ...you name it, this show the great results from the chinese independent school education system. I'd only started to communicate with people in english since my University study here in Singapore, and now I have no problem communicating with my colleague and counterpart from United State (with American slang). So my point is - if you have cultivated the fighting, learning, growing spirit since young, you will not fail to succeed, this is what I have learnt in my 6 yrs Chinese Independent School study.

Then while I surfing for this song in youtube, another singer was discovered - Karen Kong 龚柯允. She is a pretty chinese singer, I do not know who is she in the first place, but she impress me with her Malay Song Album. After much discovery from the internet and her blog www.karenkong.com/ , I learnt that she is the first chinese singer has her first album debuted in Malay song and she is from labuan (Sabah).

As a malaysian chinese, we live under the same system, to be frank, there are some unfair treatment need to be resolved. First to mention is the education system, just like what Ming Zi expressed, there is quota for chinese to be accepted in the local University.

But this is not a loss to malaysian chinese, this is a loss to the government. Think about it, every year, there are thousands of great talents and graduates will be outflowed to foreign country to work after they studied in oversea. They are not contributing to the nation GDP but contributing their effort to other countries's GDP (Gross Domestic Product), and after all most of these Malaysians work and live in oversea enjoying their life there, spending money and contributing to the economy oversea too.

So back to the two singers, Karen and Ming Zi, they are both malaysian chinese. Ming Zi sang song to complain about current society issue in malaysia. But Karen has another more effective method, she sing malay song with her amazing voice, it could melt the heart of all malay fellow citizens and feel the love from chinese people too. (When you like some one, you start to learn their culture and language - just like you learn korean and jap when watching their show and listening to their music)

In all the religion, either in buddhism or christianity, all of them proclaim about love. Love can solve everything but not hatred. I would say Ming Zi's way of expressing is nothing wrong, but sharing the love could be a better way to resolve the issue. (Making some one hate you is easy, but making some one like you could be a mission impossible sometimes.)

Instead of always complaining about the unfair treatment, malaysian chinese ought to stand up and penetrate into the lives of other races too. While we are holding on to our cultures, we ought to familiarised with other races' culture and language.

This blog is specially made for my beloved wife - Bibi, to commerate our marriage and wedding.

I would like to say, wedding is really a lot of work to do, but could be memorable and enjoyable though, since you gonna to do it, so let's enjoy the process ...

This Idea just came to my mind about 1 week ago, and just gotten our wedding photo and MTV, instead of post it to picasa or flikr, I thought of making it special, to make our own blog...

My first TRUE SPA experience !!! It SUCKS!

Spa was regards as an extragavant activity for many people, but in the hectic singapore city life, spa is an activity to relax your mind and soul, in order to get rid of the anger and unhappiness that happen around us. To a normal typical engineer like me, I seldom spend money for spa, but in my birthday month, I am started thinking to pamper myself with a good spa as a birthday present.

Suddenly, I got a call few days ago from a telemarketter that asked me to try out the free spa service from TRUE SPA located at 16 floor Tower A Ngee Ann city, the telemarketter said it is totally free, it serve as a complimentary promotion for me. I am doubtful about the free spa, but no harm just to try out.Therefore, I made an appointment with the telemarketter.

That day has finally come, I was excited and prepare for the spa treatment. Got up to the 16 floor and realise many people were there like me. I heard one of the customer complaining that there is no more time slot for them, all are fully book, they need to make another appointment, the customer was very unhappy. It certainly gave me a bad impression about True Spa.

The staff ask me to find a seat and fill up the form. I quickly filled it up and expecting some one will attend me shortly. 15 mins has gone, I was complaining in my mind, what took them so long to attend to me? Probably they are all busy. Okay fine, let's wait for a moment. Half an hour has gone, I have no more patience, I talked to a staff and said I have waited for half an hour.

Finally, a lady staff come over and chat with me about my pass experience with spa and check my particular and so on, then ask me to wait a while more and she will arrange a therapist to attend to me. Okay, let's wait and prepare to enjoy the spa.

I have waited another 20 mins, many other people that came later than me seems has gone in and I am still there waiting like a fool. Finally, I lost my patience after total 1 hour waiting, I got up the chair and walk out and no turning back.

This is utterly nasty experience, if the spa company would like to use promotion as bait for potential customer, please treat them as true customer and show them the best. It is totally wasting my time just for waiting. I mean there are many spa out there provide very good service, service is the most important element, but True Spa is totally disappointed!

After all the hard work of choosing domain name, web hosting and set up the templates and plug in, finally my Traderwork.com is up and running.

I would say i learn a lot setting up a site all by my own, from nothing to completion. I have zero knowlegde of website design or any coding like HTML, CSS, frontpage, etc. But at least now I able to get my site up.

Traderwork is a site for options trader, for people who are curious and motivated to learn about options trading. Besides, I would love to share my trading journal as well as market check with my readers.

One last thing missing, a logo for Trader Work. Erm...I shall hire my lovely wife for this assignment ...the most important part is her design job is free of charge. :P Thanks wife!

F1 Singapore is here tonight

3 hours later will be the first Singapore F1 night race, Singapore is making history for the first time hosting F1 race and even more, the first night race! I will be celebrate it together with Singapore, by not going to the actual scene (to create more space for my fovereigner friend, what an excuse??) , but I would rather watching the better screen, my own TV at home, and having beer at home with friends to cheer for Hamilton. :)

I have the first encounter with F1 few years back in Milan, visiting the ferrari shop near the Duomo di Milan.Everything inside the shop are to be expensive, even a cup or a keychain, I do not think it is worth to buy at all, don't even talk about T-shirt or a jacket (which cost few hundred Euro). So be frankly, to be a truely Ferrari fan, it could be quite costly. :P That time, I only know it is one of the famous motor race, and the famous driver Michael Schumacher. Besides, my Italian friends are very proud of their Italian technology - Ferrari, of course.

First encounter with Internet Marketing

I am sure many of you heard about Internet marketing, advertisement like "you can earn $30K within 2 weeks" or "be a millionaire by making money at home". Is it a scam, I wonder? I have the same reaction as many of you do when I heard about internet marketing, "this must be a scam".

All of us now are capitalist, 9 out 10 people will tell you that they want financial freedom in their life. The last one may be still struggling to understand the power of financial freedom. Anyway, hoping to be financially free definitely is not a sin. It is your right! Therefore, it becomes the greatest bail that many will like to attend courses that can help them create extra wealth.

This goes to my wife and I, both of us wish to be financial free as well. Few months ago, my wife has read a book written by Stuart tan about internet marketing. She was convinced that she want to throw her mind and strength into it as she see that this is something feasible. To me, this must be a scam.

Afterward, we attended the preview seminar hosted by Stuart's colleague (could not remember his name). My wife was convinced to sign up, I have no choice but to follow. I told her that if I felt asleep in the class, please do not blame me.

The first day has finally begun, finally we saw the real Stuart. He is kind of cute, funny and full of humor. And my wife said he has a little bit charm of the Stuart little in the animation, as they both have the same name. Stuart is definitely a very good speaker, you can sense his sincerity by teaching you the technique of internet marketing.

Two days lesson has passed, it turns out to be fruitful, eye and mind opening for me. Although I am still doubtful about the internet marketing, but at least it open a door for me. Let me think out the box, that internet marketing is still feasible.

Something strikes me is that, the world has changed so much, many people can just earn money from home nowadays, and made a purchase without stepping out the door. With that, how is the world be like in the future, who will be really doing all the hands on job? Probably robot? Just a thought. Haa.

Trading Rules

If you ask me what is the major difference between a novice and a professional trader, the difference is whether he or she set the trading rules and follow the rules. There are thousands set of trading rules that you can create or follow, what I recommend is that you do not need to create a certain of trading rules, you can just follow them which came from the famous investor and traders.

One of the famous investor that I admire and respect a lot is Warren Buffet. In his world, rules are more important than anything. His famous quote is as follow:
Rule 1: never lose money
Rule 2: never forget rule no 1
Funny enough? But the fact is, many people understand the importance of setting rules but never learn to follow the rules.

For part 1, I would like to share the rules that I follow before I enter the market.

Rule 1 - Always do market research before market open:

Open your CNBC or any finance website to get the latest update, understand what’s happening in the market right now. Either is it oil price drop, or some where having a war, focus on news that may be making any impact to the US market and the stock you are trading. After learning the news, try to figure out the market sentiment, for example, is oil inventory going lower a good thing to the market? Certainly not! With the latest news in hand, it will help you to make a better decision when entering the trade.

Rule 2 - Limit your trading size:

Do not over trade, always make sure you have enough money to play for the next game. Thumb of rule is always using 1/20 of your total money for each trade. If you have $5000, each trade is $250, in that case you can have 20 games to play.

Strategy: Sell 5 Bear Call Spread contract (46/48)
Sold: $0.945, 8/26
Buy: $0.45, 9/3 (today)
Profit/Loss: + $245
Grade: 5 (1 is worst, 5 is best)

Enter trade reason: QQQQ cross 22ma to bearish region, slow stochastic and MACD show bearish region as well.

Today is a good day, end my day with 200USD profit. I grade it a grade 5 trade, because it is within my 2 weeks target, with profit percentage > 50%.

The recent market sentiment is bad, with subprime issue is still hanging around, I do not foresee a bullish market coming back too soon. As you see Dow Jones having its 11800 overhead resistance, the chart seems like forming a potential head and shoulder pattern, it crosses 22ma level to become bearish.

Though oil price is getting lower now, but the market see it as a bad sign as oil demand drop. Which means that the economic slowdown might become another fear.

Now QQQQ having its support on 44 level, if QQQQ plunge through 44 level, it could be another potential disaster.

My 2 cents of thought, happy trading ....:)

First trial on Google Chrome !

Get to know the new Google technology weapon - the "Chrome" when I was browing the google finance news, I go straight to download one to try immediately. Knowing the fact that Google always has very good product from the past, and guess what, it is free, why not give it a try.

After downloaded the application, run it without any hesitation. The simple and clear web browser appeared. It is really nice, it has a very simple and elegant look, show 100% Google origin, and Google's feel. It is definitely a dummy proof browser.

The address box can be served as search box, so that you can actually do your search in the address box without going to any search engine to search for your address. It works pretty well for such a lazy person like me. But since you are using Google browser, which means you are searching through Google, that's all. If you really prefer other search engine, Google allow you to change it in the option setting -> default search to choose your other prefered search engine like yahoo, AOL, delicious..etc.

The main page will show your most visted page as shadow thumbnail, where you can easily just click on them and return to the page that you just visited or visit most.

On the top side, where tap are located, by using ctrl T, you can create as mant tap as you wish so that you have multiple site. To your preference you can easily dislocate the tap by pulling it away, and it become another separate window.

One more new feature that I like is that, after the download is completed, you can find them at the lower left corner, pull them out it will become a separate folder, or you can just open from there. Without doing anything, the downloaded file will remain inside your download folder.

On the flip side, I find it a little bit slower, probably my expectation for this new babe would be higher than the rest, would monitor for a few days more before make a judgement on this. After all, it gives a pleasant feeling while using it, probably it is new. Anyway, I am still Google supporter, I am really happy that Google come out with its brower now, congrates to Google!

When I was young, I wonder how big is the world. After seeing the world with our own eyes, you know the world is big but measurable. Now you wonder how big is the internet world, with tons of information flows to the internet every single second, tons of website being created every moment. The size of internet is immeasurable with astronomical number of pages found with every single word you type in the Google search.

Therefore, without intimadating myself for the hype of internet, I decided to explore what the new generation is up to. Then i found this ...VoX

VoX could be a new generation of blog today, with many free blog services today, VoX is competiting itself with the easy of uploading video, photo and other embeded media. Also you can share to the only appointed or targeted audience. I am still learning about it, but i started registered myself to it, and i know i am lonely now, being none of my single friends use it. If you use it, add me, my user name is orion (but this name is not unique username)

del.ico.us has it's concept that I like most, a forum like environment that you can know what website that other visit the most, comment on it or copy some one else bookmark. With tons of website in the internet, we tend to forget the full address of certain cool and new website that are useful to us. So delicious play a role here.

Habbo hotel is kind of fun when it appear in front of my eyes, it is really the hype of the virtual world. To accommodate yourself in this virtual world, you have your own room or apartment. You can choose what you like to dress to meet new people.

I guess it is cool to break the gap when it comes to people who do not like to talk in front of people. By the way, i notice this is not totally free service, if you would like to upgrade your living standard in this virtual world, you might need to pay the physical money to the service provider. haa...ultimately, it is still a business, not NPO.

Finally, my ROM has come, it was an excited day. It's been 28 years since I was born, I hav been waiting for this day to come (a bit exagerating! hee). For many guys, marriage = graveyard for love (chinese know what i mean). Actually it is not true, to me, it is just another beginning, or another type of live. Your mission is clearer and your responsibility is greater. Man with great power comes with great responsibility (saying in spider man).

It happened on 8.8.2008, what an auspicious day, people say it is only 100 years once, i do not know how to calculate it. I suppose every wed day was a good day. Olympic has chosen having their opening on my weddding day, of course I am totally fine to celebrate with the whole world.

After all, I remember the smile of Bibi, my wife, that she is really happy and joyful to be my wife. Thanks for loving me !!! This is the most precious gift I have on earth ! :)

After the long trip of England, Paris, n Italy, our last stop will be switzerland. Why switzerland? because it is a environmental friendly, less stressful, slower paces, therefore more relaxing n will be our last stop for us to rest n enjoy the scenery slowly.

It gives a breathtaking view after the plane take off, a stretch of mountain cover with snow, these mountains located at the south of france, north of italy, and switzerland.

Weather - sunny with ard 20 degree. One of the happiest moment in my life. London, always been in my list of travel as I wish to see the heritage of one of the strongest empire once in the world.

Though the air is quite poluted in London, but the environment is clean, love the grassland there where you can just lie down anywhere n take a nap.

The best thing is all the musuem is FOC, good thing for such a poor traveller like us....:P

after 13 hours flight from Singapore to London, we are ready for another long journey of our backpack trip ...from north towards the south of Europe.

Milan Trip Jan07

Seems like every month going for holiday, indeed mostly are business trip. But anyway, thank God i have plenty of time to tour around. Thanks to the DK eyewitness travel guide, manage to find out all the important details, places to go, where to eat, transportation and bra...bra.
Took the long hour "no entertainment screen" lufthansa flight to frankfurt, waited for 2 and half hour for transit, then get on another flight to milan. Though tired, but was excited to visit this "branded" city which produce Prada, LV, Guici and etc. During the flight to milan, witnessed a range of alps which every passanger would stick to the window to admire the beauty of the snow mountains.

Milan was nice and cold, first place we go after loading our things to the hotel is Duomo and Victoria Gallerie. The magnificient church will at least take you half an hour to shoot picture on its front door.

Be very careful of your wallet, and don't bother those people come over and give you free bird food for the pigeon. They will ask money from you after that. There was a guy bump into me when i shooting the picture but fortunately i did't lose any thing. (though i not so certain that he is homosexual or not :P).

We went up to rooftop for 4 euro, climb like hell, should have taken the elevator for 7 euro. The scenery up there was really nice, besides seeing all the little statue, also provided a very good bird eye view for the whole city. After that we went inside the church, it's free, but i feel creepy inside. You will see a lot of nice staint glass and statue of saints as usual.
For Gallerie, every thing is expensive beside Macdonald, a little small wallet in LV cost you more than 200 euro, don't even think about it.

Afterall, it was still a very pleasant experience taking picture with all the fat fat pigeon but be alert for the bird poo....:P

On the last day of our trip, we had been to one of the most beautiful lake in Italy -Lake Como. It was bigger than what I was imagining. The whole boat journey took up about 1 hour to finish from dock to dock and back to the original point, and it was only finish a small portion of the whole lake. The lake is clear and clean, with houses built on the mountain surrounding the lake, what a nice scenery and you would never forget the experience!!!

it's amaze how is the life here, with clean water, mountain and blue sky, everyday you are living in the resort-like home. I wonder if people here know the term called "Vacation"?

What is Options - a derivative from stock trading. The basic meaning of options is you have the right to buy or sell the stock at specific price at specific time frame, without the obligation.

An example, if you were to buy a house, you need 100K cash to buy it. Alternatively, you may draft out a contract with the owner so that you have the right to buy it any time from now until the contract expired (let's say 6 months). The contract worth 1K. You expect the house price will rise from 100K to 110K within 6 months. Therefore the overall cost you come out with is only 1K compare to 100K if you were really buy the house. If the house rise 10K as you expected, you can sell away the contract to someone at 1K + 10K (11K). On the other side, if the price drop to 90K, your contract will become worthless, and you only loss 1K instead of 10K if you have bought the house. That's call leverage.

How you gauge the market - you need to master both Fundamendal and Technical Analysis, microeconomic as well as macroeconomic to gauge the direction. Of course you will never know what is stock market direction 100%. First, you must know if the market got a trend - either bullish or bearish. Next what is the that particular industry or sector is still bullish or bearish?

Macroeconomic - to understand the US market economic like CPI,PPI, housing start, FOMC meeting, GDP, jobless claim, oil inventory and etc. Oil price is the determine factor for now.

Microeconomic (my way of explanation)- industry and sector which are the most bullish and most bearish at that time. Next to find out the most popular and the least popular company in that particular industry. Buy the rumor, sell the news.

Fundamental analysis - to drill into the company information, important ratios: P/E ratio, P/S ratio, EPS, operating profit margin, revenue and profit growth, EPS growth, book value. Besides, its position in the market like total revenue/profit compare to other company in the same sector. Reading financial report is a must, understand its income statement, balance sheet and cash flow.

Technical analysis - gauge the trend with charting like candlestick chart analysis: bullish engulfing, morning star, bullish harami, piercing line.etc. Moving average, slow stochatic, MACD, william, ROC, RSI, OBV, DI+&-, etc should be sufficient.

Milan Business Trip June 2008

After company cancelled my trip to US in April, finally I got my approval for my milan trip in June after the long explaination for justifying my trip.

This trip's objective is to review the design schedule and progress with my supplier in Italy.
Milan, a place where many woman loves to go, because of all the expensive branded stuff...Prada, Guici, LV, Giogio Amarni ...you name it, they are all there in Milan. Most of them are located at the street of Monte Napolene, or in the 100 years old shopping complex Galeria Victoria.

I have been to Milan first time last year Jan 2007, freeze to death. This time round, is summer so I just need to carried a small luggage without any winter cloth.

Last trip, I shop till my pants drop, because never see so many branded shop in one place, this time, i slept most of the time in the hotel.

My first impression to Italy is very unsafe, all my friend whom been there ask me to be careful, it is because the pickpocket almost gone up to the most professional stage among the world. Almost every friend of mine been there have had bad experience. For me, I had two, first, I was bumped by a guy from behind when taking picture, but nothing was lost, and he didn't seems like appologize either. Secondly, some one hand us the pigeon food at the Duomo plaza, and ask for 5 Euro for a handful of snack. After negotiation, 1 Euro settled with some threatening phrase. Not that bad compare to other friends of mine.

But I have many Italian supplier friends, they are nice people indeed, and they are passionate people, they love to hug and kiss ...not to me though. =P. And their coffee is one of the best I would say. We had an conversion during dinner with my US colleagues there, and the US folks suggested that starbuck should be opened here in Milan or Rome. And the Italian responded if this were going to happen, within 1 month, it will be closed down. Frank and true though. They love expresso much more and not american coffee or capucino. And coffee for them is a need, not just for enjoyment.

What so different about Duomo de Milan this time is the renovation board cover the front panel was taken down, showing its unique architecture gothic front panel to the world
