George Hotz has seemingly made it his life’s goal to jailbreak Apple’s hardware. Seriously, his new Blacksn0w jailbreak software, which is free by the way, is super easy and super fast. Download, run it, wait, voila.

Demo video:

ViewSonic VMP70 Cheap 1080p Video Player

Believe it or not, the holidays are right around the corner. Yeah, I still can’t believe that. Viewsonic has dumped the VMP70 deliciousness on us. What makes it so delicious? The price would be a very big part of that.

Yes, it looks like a radar gun, but it ain’t. Nope, it’s your very own handy dandy nightvision digital video camera. The possibilities are endless.

The camera has 32MB of onboard memory. Yeah, that’s way too little. You can, however, upgrade up to 2GB via an SD card. That will allow around 75 minutes of record time as opposed to 2 minutes. Specs:

Technical Specifications:

32MB Internal Memory, SD/MMC Card Slot expandable to 2GB

2 minutes on-board recording time with up to 75 minutes with 2GB SD Card

USB, NTSC, PAL Output

500MB free hard disk space

USB Port required

Dimensions:

Vioguard Self Sanitizing Keyboard

I have to say up front that this post is dedicated to my friend Glenn. That’s because if ever there was a product made for Glenn, it would be the Vioguard self sanitizing keyboard.

Vioguard is making their pitch to health organizations. Big surprise. This makes sense, considering the keyboard costs $900. That kind of cost will make it cost prohibitive to the average consumer. But for public workstations, this kind of thing could make sense. The Vioguard self sanitizing keyboard uses UV to sanitize. This would be true in places where health is of the upmost importance. Or Glenn. Here’s a promo vid:

Fonera 2.0N Happy Sharing Router

The Fonera 2.0N is an interesting concept. It incorporates two virtual networks into one router. One is public and one is private. If you travel, you can now access Fonera networks when you travel. That may be a plus for users.

The other thing that Fonera 2.0N does is that it allows you to connect a USB hard drive to it. Then you can access that drive like a network drive. Not only that, but you can also download torrents or upload to youtube directly from the drive. It also will accept a 3G USB to enable a MiFi. All that convenience will cost you a paltry $99.

Here’s a quick tour video:

<object	type="application/x-shockwave-flash"

Tonido Plug NAS

It’s not very often that you can find a pretty decent NAS for $99. But that’s exactly what the Tonido NAS does for you.

You have two choices when it comes to Tonido. You can run it on your dektop or you can get a plug and use that. Tonido comes with a variety of apps that you will find pretty useful. Those include: peer to peer photo sharing, a jukebox for streaming your music over the net, file sharing (unlimited - think emailing large files!), a blog, computer search, and a torrent download manager. That’s a pretty nice app suite. And the TonidoPlug is very energy efficient and cost effective - $99.

Here’s a pretty good overview video:

<object	type="application/x-shockwave-flash"

Sanyo LP-XF1000 Projector Melts Skin

There are times when a 5,000 lumen projector is way too weak for your needs. No, when you are projecting an image or video right into the sun, you need the Sanyo LP-XF1000. The options are limitless.

The Sanyo LP-XF1000 sports an eye shattering 12,000 lumen output. Beta testers of the world’s brightest projector were instantly vaporized when walking in front of the specially treated screen. Researchers responded, “While the loss of life is never something we want, those business graphs never looked so crisp or vibrant.” Sanyo vows to come out with a special shadow removing cleanser in the upcoming months.

“Whether you are cooking full grown rhinos, or simply showing birthday videos, the Sanyo LP-XF1000 is the right choice,” Mark Sanders, VP of product development noted. While the $46,000 price tag makes this projector a little inaccessible for most suburban moms, Sanyo is confident that increased credit flexibility in this economy will help to soften the blow. Julie Wexer, Director of Marketing commented. “We understand that credit is starting to flow in this economy. We also understand pent up demand to spend.” I couldn’t have said it better myself.

GE VScan Portable Ultrasound

You never know when you will have to ultrasound someone or something. Riding in the subway, and a dog is complaining about its stomach. You whip out the new GE VScan portable ultrasound machine and quickly adduce that the dog has eaten a large rodent. Thanks GE VScan.

Obviously, the VScan has uses outside of my ridiculous scenario, like for doctors in remote areas. Doctors could also have one in their office instead of sending patients off to specialists. Immelt, CEO of GE, and also a great sandwich on rye, didn’t comment on how much the device would cost. He did hint that it may cost $2mil, saying, “it depends if the government is buying the unit.”

Okay, so I just made that up.

Yike Foldable Bike Take a Hike

This is a very interesting idea, design, and execution. The Yike Bike really tells your taxes, energy costs, and sweat to take a hike. Oh, and bike thieves too. It gives you tremendous freedom with little hassle. And it only weighs 21 lbs.

It is an electric, foldable bike. It will cost around $6,000. Which gives new meaning to the yike bike. But, considering all the costs normally associated with car ownership, this really is an option, especially for urban dwellers. Here’s the vid:

EmSeeQ Stops Them from Wandering

Well well well. Considering I just posted on the Ekahau T301W, It seems that EmSeeQ comes along and steals their thunder. And they do it by expanding the range of person tracking. And that will be welcome news to family of people who are wrestling with Alzheimer’s.

The device uses U-TDOA, a cellular location service. This means that if your loved one will most likely fall within the cellular coverage areas since that includes around 90% of the US. The cost is $185 and a $25 monthly charge for coverage. I think that is a very small price to pay for the safekeeping of a loved one. They also have a $225 version that includes a secure wristband that requires two hands to take it off. Smart. Here’s a promo vid:
