Goa trip on the eve of my birthday

This is a very special trip for me as we planned this for my birthday celebrations in Rocking Goa and this visit happened after a hiatus of 8 years.We started on a friday night from Kacheguda Railway station by train at 9 PM and reached Madgaon at 1:45 PM on saturday.The train route is very scenic once u cross Castle Rock railway station and we get to see marvelous Dudh Sagar waterfall and beautiful hills with various ghat sections and thrilling tunnels in route to Goa.
We took accommodation within the city and then at 2:30 PM, We started to Colva Beach,6 km from Madgaon.We took a bike at our Hotel and started exploring the beaches of South Goa.

DAY 1 :
Our route for that Half day
Madgaon -----> Colva ----> Benaulim

Colva Beach : Colva is the longest beach in Goa.It is the most popular beach in South Goa and is pretty much full of Indian tourists.The line of coconut trees is a big attraction here and the water also looks great and shores hit hard and makes a good swim in the b each.The beach also got lot of water sports such as para sailing,Speed boat etc.We dint tried any sports as we did nt want to try all those on first day itself.We spent around 2 hrs there and at 5 PM,we started to Benaulim Beach which is at 2 km from Colva.

Benaulim Beach : Benaulim is not a crowded nor a popular beach like Colva and hence we see very very less tourists here.Mostly locals play beach volley ball etc here and there are not that many Beach shacks also here.But this beach offers privacy for all those couples and all to have a lovely bath…It was my birthday and I had cake cutting at the beach as there was very very less crowd at the location.Sunset was awesome at this beach and we enjoyed a lot at that beach and departed from there at 7 PM.There are few good number of Resorts and Quality Hotels near Benualim Beach and we had dinner at an Italian Restaurant and then left to our Hotel and reached there at 10 PM.

DAY 2 :
The next morning,we got ready by 8:00 AM and checked out our hotel and then took a bus to Panjim from Kadamba Bus Station in Madgaon.And at 9:00 AM,we were at Panjim Bus station and then we hired a bike from there.Our first activity was to unload our luggage at our resort at Calangute so we were off to Calangute which is at 16 km from Panjim.We checked into our hotel and at 10:30 AM,we started exploring the beaches in that area.We first headed to Candolim Beach which is 4 km from Calangute Beach in route to Fort Aguada.

Panjim ----> Calangute ------> Baga - Calangute -----> Candolim ----->Sinquerrim --->Fort Aguada

Candolim Beach : Lovely and awesome are the words tha t I would like to use to describe this beach.A beach full of Foreigners and the Beach Shacks here got Bamboo huts and fantastic relaxing beds facing the beach.The beach water allures you and makes you dip into the water.We jumped into the water and played a lot.The water is also not that forceful and one encounter tiny waves and that makes you to cover lot of distance in the water.A beach for couples as it allows privacy.We spent around 3 hrs there and at 2 PM we started to Fort Agauda which is 6 km from Candolim Beach.

Fort Aguada : Aguada Fort entices lot of Tourists all over as it provides delightful views of Coco Beach from the top.The place is a popular spot for film shootings.One can amble on the Fort and check few View points.All the view points provide majestic views of the Coco beach.We reached the Fort at 2:20 PM.We first enetred through the mian gate and had covereed all the corners of teh fort as there are exceptional view points in all the corners of the Fort.There are some places to sit and take some good snaps.Just when we exit the fort if we go straight and then take left from the main circle,it will lead to the Ehlipad and not that great and if we take left and descend down for around 500 m,then it will take us to Aguada Jail.The jai is now being used and Coco Beach is a border for this jail and hence no tourists are allowed to go to Cocoa Beach.

Then at 3:10 PM, we started to Sinquerrim beach which is situated 3 km towards Calangute Beach.

Sinquerrim beach: Sinquerrim beach is an extension of Candolim beach and one can even leisurely walk from Candolim beach to Sinquerrim by passing through the sea shore (2-3 km distance). Rocks dominate the major playing area of Sinquerrim so it more like we don’t get the chance to swim or bath in the water. The major attraction of this beach is the exotic view points where there are 2 which one was straight from where we head to major area and the other one is on the extreme left just near the Taj Hotel. Water sports are a big attraction here and also give a great opportunity to explore the fantastic sea locales. We tried Speed boat and it was very worthy. Locals run behind you pleading for rides so beware of them and bargain on rate and go with the right ride which suits you. The beach also offers one of the best views of Goa.

We stayed till 4:35 PM there and then left to Baga Beach which is 5 Km from there towards Calangute.
Baga Beach is just 2 km from Calangute Beach as you take right from Calangute beach circle. That 2 Km stretch is full of Hotels and shops and few Shopping centers that showcase the Nepali items. We reached Baga beach at 5 PM

Baga beach: A beach full of Indian Tourists and mostly families. This beach is a hot pick for Indian travelers and the beach bed costs 50 Rs here.In most of the beaches, beach bed is free but over here they charge you if you want to hire a bed. This is yet again very popular for rides and is cozy as well but can be bargainable.The landscapes are impressive and there are lots of sitting areas as the beach is commercially well developed. The water is pure and looks great. We dint really get into the beach as it was almost past 6 PM and also the beach was very crowded. We spent some time roaming within the beach area and then left to our hotel.

We relaxed for some time and then returned to our hotel to take some rest and at 7:45PM, we again visited Candolim beach as the approach road to the beach is full of shops and also beach glitters in the night with multi number of Beach restaurants. So, we spent some time in shopping and then had dinner at one of the beach restaurants in Candolim.The road from Calangute to Candolim is extraordinary with lot of good restaurants and few Shopping Malls and lot of shopping options. This is the road which goes till Fort Aguada and a busy road altogether.

Day 3:
We got early at 6:45 AM and then left to Calangute beach and as the beach is just ½ km from our resort, we planned an early morning bath in the beach.

Calangute beach: Calangute is the most popular beach in Goa.The beach got everything with various water rides, serene nature and delightful water. As it is centrally located between Candolim and Baga the beach got extensively developed as it is a commercial hub with good restaurants and beach shacks. And also we see lot of people swim and bath in this water as this beach entices lot of tourists both Foreigners as well as Indians. This beach makes everyone happy and playing in the water in this beach is well worthy experience and must for all the tourists in Goa.Water Sports are of great craze and in huge demand at this beach and you can try those at this beach. We spent around 2 hrs in the beach and then left to our hotel for refresh.

Calangute -----> Anjuna ----> Vagator -----> Chapora Fort

Then at 11 AM, we started to Vagator Beach as we took our next accommodation near Anjuna Beach, we dumped our luggage there and then departed to Vagator beach first. Vagator beach is around 3 km from Anjuna Beach.

Vagator Beach: Vagator is my personal favourite.We reached Vagator Beach at 12 PM and as on we saw the waves swirling around, we jumped into the water. The water is pristine clear and pure and temped us to dive in. We kept on playing various games in the water and spent lot of time in the water and never felt tired. Vagator is with abundant nature with lots of coconut trees. One can see the majestic Chapora fort from the beach and that is an added attraction in the beach. And also the beach offers privacy for all those couples and also there is not much demand for water sports in this beach and that is good when you think of privacy in the beach. It is a placid beach. The beach attracts Foreigners the most and also we see some tourists from India.

Vagator is one of my favourites

Chapora Fort is clearly visible from the beach and one think of climbing up the hill to reach the fort and it offers good picturesque views but try this only if the weather is not hot. But there is an alternate road route to Chapora fort.

Chapora fort: Chapora fort is not as popular as Fort Aguada but very worth visiting as it offers commanding views of the Vagator Beach. We took the road route and reached there at 3:15 PM and even we go by road route we still require to climb up and that route was not that good as it was skidding and also the climb was bit hectic but once you scale up for some distance you get to see the beach from the left side and also the pile up coconut trees on the backside. The area on fort is quite big and is of plentiful grass and various plants. There are quite a few view points on the fort and also we took rest once we climbed up the fort by looking at the thrilling views of the Vagator beach. Chapora fort involves lot of effort compared to Fort Aguada and probably that is reason why Tourists try to give a miss. And also one get to play a lot in Vagator beach and get tired and that tend to ignore climbing the fort but I personally suggest if you have any intention of visiting this fort, then try to climb up from the beach instead of taking the road route and then climbing up. We spent around 1 hr there and then at 4:45 PM, we started to Anjuna Beach.

We reached Anjuna at 5 PM which is around 5 KM from there and once we enter the main area as the beach is present down and we get some exceptional views of Anjuna beach at a view point on the main road to Anjuna beach and from there we have descend down by walking or by 2-wheeler to make it to the beach. The route from top to the beach area is full of shops and restaurants and once gets to explore a lot on shopping options.

Anjuna Beach: Anjuna is probably the one of the best beaches in Goa and it is also well developed in terms of commercially. The beach attracts lots of Foreigners and Indians as well. The rock structures in the beach forms a big attraction in Anjuna Beach and is a crowd puller. Leisure Walking at Anjuna rocks and is a great time pass. We catched the sunset at the beach and once it gets darker, the night life arises in Anjuna. There are lots of Beach shacks and restaurants and some play live music from evening till midnight. We sat at the beach border and had lovely conversations and then had a walk around the beach and then decided to have dinner at a Restaurant near the beach. They got live music and we were seated at a place where the wave water started hitting our legs very often. And also it was a full moon day and divine water touching out legs and tasted good food. The motley of all these made a delightful and most memorable dinner of our life time. Night dinning at Anjuna is a rewarding experience. The shopping area at Anjuna was open for quite a time in the night and once we finished our dinner, we did some shopping and then left to our hotel. And also every Wednesday, they used to have Anjuna Flea market and we didn’t able to make it as we visited on a Monday.

Day 4:
The next morning our route was like this

Anjuna -----> Siolim -----> Morjim -----> Asvem ----> Mandrem ----> Arambol ---> Panjim

The penultimate day of our joyful trip and we were off to Northern most region of Goa.It is popular for awesome beaches with less crowds and clean waters.At around 8:30 PM,we started to Morjim beach. It is in the extreme North region and is around 16 km from Anjuna as we first need to go to Siolim and from there need to take the Siolim Bridge on Chapora River.The bridge offers spectacular locales but one cant stop on the bridge to capture those majestic locales.Chapora River is a treat to watch.It is full of coconut trees on one end and boats on water.Our first point was Morjim Beach and near the beach we also get to see the border of Chapora River.

We first reached Morjim beach at 9:30 AM.

Morjim Beach: It is a lovely beach and a remote one also.Full of Foreigners and the most attractive element over here is the line up of Bamboo huts.Some say,that concept in Goa started here first and then spread to other beaches.A dip in water and drink by sitting on the relaxing bed and then a dip in the water is the best time pass in Morjim as the beach shacks are very near to the water and also water is so pure and makes you swim.As it is remotely located,the beach does not garner too many tourists but nature beauty is bountiful here with coconut trees.We spent around 1 hr there and then started to Asvem Beach which is 4km from Morjim.

Asvem Beach : It is an extension of Morjim beach along the road and the beach is visible from the hilly road and invites you for fun.Asvem is a big beach and full of coconut tress.We dont get to see that many Bamboo huts here but Asvem got lot of variety as it got small rock structures near the beach and lot of sitting areas and playing areas.There are some fine resorts also near the beach.One get to see lot of Foreigners and very less count of Indians at this beach.And also while visiting to these beaches,it made me feel free from that busy ambience,heavy crowds,rides etc etc.These are beaches for solitude and tranquility.We spent around 1hr there and at 12 PM,we started to Mandrem Beach which is at 3 Km from Asvem beach.

Mandrem Beach : Mandrem is conidered as one of the 3 beaches on the Northern most tip along with Arambol and Quernim which is much far from these two.Nature is at its best at Arambol.The beach got long border and we get to see small gaps of sea water away from the main sea water and also one need to walk lot of distance to catch the water at Mandrem as it got a very long border.And also as we see water in the main walking area,in some of the places they laid small wooden bridges and we need to use those walking rails.It was lunch time for us and we had lunch sitting under a bamboo unmbrella and ona relaxing bed.It was sunny and we had lovely lunch.We also relaxed unber the roof for some time and I found Mandrem is the best place to relax.The sereme atmosphere makes you feel relaxed and the whole area is domianted by coconut trees.We got into water and played for some time and then departed from there to Arambol beach at 2:30 PM.Arambol is 6 Km from Mandrem beach.

Arambol Beach : Arambol is the most popular beach in the Northern most area and hence it entices lot of Foreigners and also we see quite a few Indians.The huge rocks structures forms a special attraction here and Arambol is commercially well developed.There are lot of shops just near the main entrance and one get to choose from lot of shopping options.Drink and play in the water is the major activity at Arambol.We did some shopping there and played inside the beach.Arambol also gets crowded sometimes as most of the Tourists cover Arambol alone and go back to the other beaches near Calangute.

The beauty of North most beaches is that in the early morning the water level will be full and is just near the entrance to the beach area but as the day progress,the water level tends to go back and as the day goes on,the water goes far from the main beach area and that is when we need to walk for some distance to catch the water of the beach and at the evening it will back to the normal.We get to notice this at Morjim and Mandrem beaches mostly.

We spent around 2 hrs there and at 5 PM,we started to Panjim.

Reached Panjim at 6 Pm and took refreshments and then at 7:30 PM,we took the criuse on Mandovi River in Panjim.Cruise is of huge importance in Panjim as there are couple of top class Casinos also.We got to seated on a cruise and there were some Goan tradioan dances and group dances as the cruise covers some distance on the Mandovi River.The whole trip lasts for around 1 and half hr as one gets to the blistering beauty of Panjim city in the night.

The next day,the last day of our trip,we went to Old Goa to visit the Augustine Church.It is a huge campus and lot of people visit this place.That was the location of our trip and we bid good bye to Goa at 12:30 PM by starting to Ponda as we have to catch our train to Hyderabad from there.We reached Ponda at 4:30 PM and then boarded our train to Hyderabad at 5:30 PM and reached Hyderabad the next day at 10:30AM and that ended a rocking trip to the magnificent Goa.

General information :
Prices in Goa varies from season to season.It is from September where the mood picks and lot of the tourists visit and from December 15th,the rates increase much more and after Dec 20th till Jan 5th,it will be much costlier.The best vehicle to roam around Goa is scooter or motor bike.There are lot of Bike rental shops and a Honda Activa costs around 300 per day and a Pulsar costs you around 400 per day and a Car costs around 800-1000 per day.There are lot of shops and one get to wear lots of variety dresses and get to taste lots of varietes of food as there are multi cuisine restaurants in Goa.Also,the liquor prices are cheaper compared to the other parts of the country and get the ultimate pleasure of having drink and enjoy at the beaches.
Rides are of huge craze in Goa and they run behind you begging for rides and offer kool prices and they become much more costly in season.So be sure which ride suits you and bargain with them.My ideal preference was to to have accomodation near the beach as that allows us the best chance and saves lot of time.As the whole length of Goa from top to bottom is not more than 75 km,one gets the freedom to stay in any place within Goa and cover places on a day to day basis.
There are lot of provate Jetty Operators at the main Jetty road in Panjim and choose the one of yout choice and please check the timmings as most of them run the evening past sunset.

Trip to Rajasthan,Agra and Mathura

As being a frequent traveler all around South India. This time, we decided to travel towards North India.So, as part of that, have planned a visit to the Majestic Rajasthan, Splendid Taj Mahal in Agra and delightful Mathura.

Route:Hyderabad – Agra – Jaipur – Pushkar – Jodhpur – Jaisalmer – Udaipur – Mathura – Delhi – Hyderabad

We boarded an evening train from Secunderabad Station. The train goes till Delhi but it doesn’t stop at Agra and the last stoppage point was Jhansi and hence we decided to get down there. Our train started at 6 PM and reached Jhansi at 12 PM the next day. There is not much to see in Jhansi but it is a gateway to impressive Orcha (18 Km) and fantastic Khajuraho (180 Km).As neither of the above 2 places are not part of this itinerary we ignored those. Then we had lunch and refreshments in Jhansi and then took Taj Express at 3:20 PM and then reached Agra at 6:30 PM.Our accommodation was very near to Taj Mahal but there is no night viewing of Taj as the area around the Taj is very dark.

Agra -- We got up at 5 AM, the next day i.e., Sunday and went onto see Taj Mahal at sunrise. Taj Mahal opens from 5:45 AM and there are 3 gates for Taj Mahal (South, East and West).For South Gate, tickets are available at Shilpgram which is around ¾ km from Taj. Since it was near to my hotel, I took tickets at 5:30 AM and went on to see Taj. There was some rush to catch Taj at early morning and took some time to pass the stringent security checks. Once I entered into the complex, I just ran fast to catch the view. The entrance gate is marvelous and a big structure and they are gates on each side of the Taj Mahal. Since it was early in the morning, we were able to grab some good photos of us without any people in the background. Taj was exceptional. My eyes twinkle on looking at the stunning beauty of Taj. We roamed near and around Taj and then we entered inside and spent there 10 min and sat for lot of time looking at the Taj. From the right side gate, one can get fantastic snaps since we get a different view.

Taj Mahal got extraordinary gardens in the South and the combination of those gardens with Taj as the backdrop makes a perfect picture. And at the West and East end, we get to see a rectangle view of Taj. And River Yamuna as the North Boundary is an added attraction.

There is a VIP seat (That’s what everyone say) where one can get a photo of their lifetime by seating there since it captures the Taj as the background. We spent time there till 8:30AM and then we decided to move out of there.
We had breakfast and then were off to Agra Fort which is around 2 Km from Taj Mahal. Agra Fort is a notable and a popular place in Agra. The fort is huge with distance covered and the structures are heavy and artistic. There is not much to climb and the fort is not that complicated to go around as the routes are clear. We spent around 1 and half hr and then returned to hotel.

Fatehpuri Sikhri -- And at 12:30 PM, We started to Fatehpuri Sikhri, 40 Km from Agra. Fatehpuri Sikhri is Akbar’s territory and it is popular for a Dargah and for the visit to the 2nd biggest entrance gate in Asia, Buland Darwaza.It is huge and marks the brilliance of that time builders. One needs to encounter some steps to get onto the Monuments there. Once we enter inside, we see a vacant area with boundaries such as heavy walls. It’s a rectangular area with big Entrance Gate and the Dargah inside is considered high and there will lot of worshippers for that. Fatehpuri Sikhri is worth for Buland Darwaza and Akbar’s monuments and all are present in one area only and so, it is very easy to cover the places one at a go. There is no ticket for this as this is of Religious importance also. But somehow, the place should be kept clean as the area around these monuments is not neat and that really is concerning because it does drag your attention. Nevertheless, Fatehpuri Sikhri is perfect tourist destination and an ideal one for tourists of Agra.

And then at 4 PM, we started to Jaipur (235 KM) and reached Jaipur at 9 PM and the roads are good. And that night we directly checked into the hotel and took rest.

Jaipur – Jaipur is termed as Pink City and I went to expect every building in pink color but it pertain only to few buildings in an area. The city is neat and we started our sightseeing from 9:00 AM onwards. We first went to City Museum. The building is very good with good architecture. Then we went to Birla Temple and after that we went to Royal Gaiter which holds some carved metamaurphs of former rulers of Jaipur. The place is fine with gardens. It falls in the route to Amber (Amer) Fort which is 11 km from city centre. Amer fort is grandiose. A pink and beautiful fort.

The pink color is very appealing and one can go for Elephant ride or a jeep or by trail to reach to the top. The Fort attracts lot of tourists and to explore the fort, just follow one small route as some areas are confusing. Guides tend to give a feeling like we can’t go forward or see this properly without them, but it is not like that. Amer Fort is the best place in Jaipur and once to reach over the top, it offers stunning views all around. There is also one trail over steps to a neighboring hill but it does take lot of effort and most of the people skip. We took around 2 hrs to cover Amer fort and then we were off to Hawa Mahal. We reached Hawa Mahal at 2 PM.Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and City Palace all three are at a common point and especially Jantar Mantar and City Palace are side by side.

Hawa Mahal is good and we generally get to see the pic of the rear end which we believe is the front side but we first enter on one side which takes you one after another step. We get the Outside view of Hawa Mahal only when we come out of the complex and take a road that is parallel to this road. We spent around 45 min and then departed to Jantar Mantar. It is a good tour about all kinds of instruments and the different technological tools used that time. City Palace is good and it also has a museum. We completed the Jaipur coverage by 5 PM and then started to Pushkar.
We first reached Ajmer at 8 PM (160KM).Ajmer holds a very famous dargah.We started to Pushkar straight away and reached there at 8:45 PM. Pushkar is around 18 km from Ajmer. The route from Ajmer to Pushkar is scenic and we need to cross across Ghat section with an up and down in that 18 Km route.

Pushkar: A land of hundreds of temples and believed to have formed with God’s bless. Pushkar boast of a lake which was formed by Lord Brahma when he dropped a lotus flower and hence there is a big Brahma Temple here. It is also said that World started from this lake. The lake is considered very sacred and there are quite a few Ghats for devotees to take a bath. But unfortunately, in the last 2-3 years, tourists and locals polluted the lake water and hence the lake was filled with debris. So, then Central Government took up an action of cleaning up the lake and removed all the water in the lake and building some external layers for lake protection. They started that process 1 and half year back and since then the lake disappeared in Pushkar. Now, the work is in progress and they want rains to fill in the water for lake. Lake is the centre point for the town. Luckily, the water is still live in few Ghats and hence pilgrims perform various kinds of religious rituals and take a holy bath.

But the water is not in the purest form unfortunately. Pushkar can be covered by footsteps or by a rickshaw. The place is free from pollution and is a perfect holiday for respite.
When I reached Pushkar in the night, we hired a rickshaw from Bus stand to my hotel which is nearby Brahma temple. I first ran to the lake area and was extremely disappointed to see that there is no water in the lake and slept with dullness and the next morning, I woke up at 6 AM and saw the religious groups ambling on tiny streets of Pushkar, the white colored temple domes, the ashrams which all changed my perception towards Pushkar. I realized the real beauty of Pushkar with the hundreds of temples in the town.

We first visited the Brahma Temple and then the Vishnu Temple which comes in between the route from Brahma Temple to the Bus stand. Then we visited few Ghats. The sad thing is, people fall behind you to offer blah blah into the water and perform some rituals just for money. The Ghats are commercialized and one has to be careful by not falling into anyone’s trap. There are lots of shopping options in Pushkar and good quality food courts also. We had lunch at 1 PM and then went to the Desert area is Pushkar. Desert area in Rajasthan starts from Pushkar and there is a camel fair held in September/October in every year in Pushkar which is of huge importance to tourists. The desert area is not that big or beautiful, a place which gives you a feel,ok this how desert lookslike.We did some shopping then and at 4 PM,we started to Jodhpur, our next destination which is around 180 Km from Pushkar.

Jodhpur: Jodhpur is a busy place with lot of tourists and a commercial hub. The place is popular for the best fort as per my judgement, Mehrangarh fort and the white beautiful Jaswant thada.The city also provides blue houses views hence it is also termed as Blue city. We reached Jodhpur at 8:30 PM and straight way checked into hotel. Our hotel got astonishing views of Mehrangarh fort.

The next morning, we started our safari at 10 AM and first visited the Umaid Bhavan place/Museum. It is a private palace maintained by a Maharaja Umaid Singh. The outward structure of the palace is amazing. The place is bit far from the city centre but one of the most prominent centers at Jodhpur. The interiors are great and the museum is with Maharaja’s repository. The palace is a 2 storied mahal and a good exhibition inside. We spent around 1 ½ hr there and then departed to Mandore gardens which is around 12 km from city centre. Reached there at 1 PM. Mandore gardens is slowly coming up as a tourist spot to get recognised. The Garden location is bit far from the main gate where one need to walk for 5-10 min and then few charming temples welcome you into the gardens.There are some beautiful carved temples and royal centogaph forms the major part of Mandore Gardens.The place also have a Government Museum and is ok.There are some good Rajathani Idols sculpures that are interesting.An idle place with few impressively designed temples.A fine place but beware of monkeys as they are in huge number here. We spent around 1 – 1 ½ hr and then departed to Jaswant Thada.

Jaswant Thada is a white marbled beautiful palace and is the second best tourist destination in Jodhpur.The palace is built by Sardar Singh in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh.The beauty of this cenotaph lies in its white marble structures and glow at night.This place is pretty much can be termed as an Architectural landmark of Jodhpur and the views from Outside are exceptional. From the palace area,one get fantastic view of Jodhpur City and on a cold day,one can trek to the top for some distance to get the breathtaking view of both Jawant thada with Mehrangarh Fort as the background.Try this when weather is not hot.Spent around 1 hr there and then left to Mehrangarh fort.

Mehrangarh fort is around 1 km from Jaswant Thada.One can walk but the road is up and down and muddy.The approach road is same for both as Jaswant Thada is on left and Mehrangarh fort is on right.An awesome fort and I would call it as the best of Rajasthan.The views of Fort are spectacular from nearby areas.The Fort is also modern equipped.There is trail up to height and One can come by vehicles up to some extent and at the main entrance there are 2 ways to explore the fort since there are lifts. We thought of going up by Lift and cover the fort and next descend down by walk such that it saves our energy and also gives more time. The charges for Lift are extra and available at the same ticket counter.The museum is magnificent and is one of the finest museums in Rajasthan.

The museum exhibits the heritage of the Rathores in arms, costumes, paintings and decorated period rooms. The Facades of Mehrangarh Fort Palace are beautiful and Takhat Vilas, Maharaja's room is a wonder.There are quite a few decorated and ornate places inside the fort out of which Moti Mahal , Phool Mahal , Sheesha Mahal, Sileh Khana, and Daulat Khana are popular.

There are good galleries inside the fort and few of them are Elephant's howdahs, Palanquins, Daulat Khana - Treasures of Mehrangarh Museum, Armoury,Paintings, the Turban Gallery and the Folk Music Instruments Gallery.We expored all the sightings of the fort and it took almost 3 – 3 1/2 hrs for us and we finished our Jodhpur trip at 6 PM.Then we went to a Movie in the main city as our train to Jaisalmer was at 11 PM.We started at 11PM and reached Jaisalmer at 5 AM.

Jaisalmer: Jaisalmer is a desert city and one feel it as on we reach the city as our body will be covered with small remains of sand.The place is also extremely hot but having all said,This is the best location is Rajasthan as there is lot to do in this place.Jaisalamer is full of Havelis and there are couple of fabulous Havelis.

At 8:00 AM,We first went to Patwon ki Haweli and it is marvelously built.

It is five storied and probably the largest Havelis of Rajasthan and the most impressive.Reach to the top of Haveli to get panoramic view of Jaisalmer fort which is out of the World.

We spent around 1 1/2 hr at the Haveli and We roamed within the streets and came across various beautiful havelis and enjoyed our walk and then went to Jaisalmer Fort.We first checked into the Jain Temple complex which is nearby the main Entrance of the Fort and it is full of splendid structural temples.It get closed at 12 PM and gets opened at 4 PM again so,one should plan accordingly while visiting this complex..We completed the Jain Temples and then started our visit to Jaisalmer Fort. The Fort stands on Golden stretches of Great Indian Thar Desert.It is the Golden Fortress.The Havelis inside the Fort and the beginning of the Fort are prodigious. One can amble or go by vehicle to reach to the top of the fort.

Raj Mahal,Laxminath Temple and the gigantic gateways are the main attractions of this fort.The Fort got phenomenal inner structures and one find of lot of pigeons on the walls of the Fort.The fort got lots of Havelis and all are worthy.We spent around 2 hrs there and at 2:30 PM,we started to Gadi Sagar Lake,2 km from Fort.A calm place with lake and some stone structures in the water.The place is fine.We spent some time there and came back to our hotel for rest.And at 4 PM,we started our safari to Sam Sand Dunes.
The main reason why people make to Jaisalmer is for Camel Ride in Sand Dunes.It is probably considered as one of the must do s for the tourists who visit Rajasthan.

Specifically,Sunset camel ride is the most demanded one and it priced quite heavily.There are 2 places for Sand Dunes which are set at 45 Km in different directions.The first and most admired Sam sand Dunes and the next one is Khuri Sand Dunes.Locals give different verdict about both the Dunes.Sam is more crowded and have good facilities for accommodation and Khuri also slowly getting crowded in seasons nowadays.The less crowd you have the more neatly the Dunes will be maintained.Generally,Tourists tend to go to Sam and we also decided in the same way. We first visited to Badabagh (11 Km from Jaisalmer).It is a beautifully ornated Haveli kind of structured temple and the interiors are brilliantly carved.There is a lake near the temple. The outward structures look great and this makes a good spot to visit.
Spent around 20 min there and then we jumped on to the drive to Sam. Reached Sam at 5:15 PM and we were dropped at Camel Station. Since we were a couple, we both were allotted one Camel and his name is Ronith and a camel driver. The camel ambled for around 30min to the exact location of Dunes and it dropped us there at 6 PM.The Sand Dunes were overwhelming and truly perfect place for retreat. We played on the dunes for some time and then at 6:20 PM, we again took a camel ride by paying extra amount to the Camel driver to ride us up and down the dune. The Camel ascends and descends on the dune and that makes you a thrilling ride.

Then we had the sunset view and then further travelled some distance on the dune and finally got dropped at the camel station where we were dropped. We had Camel safari for around 75 min and it was a journey of our lifetime. And at 7:30 PM, we were taken to a resort for Rajasthani dance show and Rajasthani food.It generally comes as a package depend on how we choose, I opted for half day tour and full day tour involves a night stay near the Desert where they provide a tent for our stay.We had to catch the night train to Jodhpur and so we did not opted for Night stay. We finished the trip at 9:30PM and from there reached to Jaisalmer railway station to catch train at 11 PM.There is no direct route from Jaisalmer to Udaipur so I took a train first and then took a bus from there.
We reached Jodhpur at 5 AM and took refreshments and at 6:30 AM, we took a bus to Udaipur and reached there at 1 PM. Udaipur is surrounded by hills and route just before 80 km reaching Udaipur is very scenic.The route becomes very scenic once you cross Ranakpur on the way to Udaipur.

Udaipur : We straight away checked into our hotel and at 5 PM,we started sightseeing of Udaipur.We first went to Doodh Talai where we see the best Sunset of the City. The sunset view was tremendous.

And then we heard of Sound and Light show at Maharaja palace which was scheduled at 8 PM.We started to the Palace and took the tickets to watch the show.The show lasted for around 45 min and a delight to eyes.The Place looked wonderful in lights and the program comprises of narration of Raja story with various kinds of Sounds and lights.The whole Palace will be illuminated with lights in all junctions at the end of the show and that is a real pleasure.

The next day,we started at 9 AM and we first went to Fateh Sagar lake and it is okay.And just ½ km walk from Fateh Sagar lake is Maharana Pratap Memorial and we see atop Rajput hero Maharana Pratap with a bronze statue of the Maharana astride his favourite horse "Chetak" ovelooking the Fateh Sagar lake.The statue is remarkable and we need to climb few steps to reach that point.

Then at 11:30 AM,we reached City Palace which is 5 km from Fateh Sagar lake.City Palace is on the east side of Lake Pichola and it is a massive palace structures.The entry is through a giant door and the palace looks very modern and supreme.The balconies provide panoramic view of Lake Place Hotel.The Palace got the repertoire of the Maha Raja s and it got lot of interesting things inside the Palace.We spent around 1 and half hour there and then we went to Jagadish Temple.The Temple structure resembles Taj Mahal.Infact they say Mewar King invited Shah Jahan that time to visit this temple and it inspired him and when he decided to go for Taj Mahal, he implemented that design.The Idol looks good and a temple which is believed very sacred.

The JagNiwas Island is visible from the top and the Lake Pichola forms the Northern Border.We seek blessings of the God and then we went to Bagore ki Haveli which is on the back side.It is just 5 min walk from Jagadish Temple.The series of puppets fetches your attraction.

There are wonderful dolls and really makes you crazy.And from the first floor,One get to see the Lake Palace hotel view in water and take a picture perfect shot.

The Haveli is fine and then we thought of going to Monsoon Palace (SajjanGarh),5 Km but then decided to have lunch at 2 PM and post lunch we thought of going to Doodh talai again to take the new added attraction,the Rope way.It takes you the biggest point of Udaipur and one gets a thrilling view of the whole Udaipur.The Railway Station,Islands,The misty hills,Lake Palace Hotel and City Palace..It offers classical views of all.

There is a temple at the top and we spent around 45 min at the top and then came down by Cable car.The way looks good and the return route is good as it got the view of lake.We finished there and then we were off to Udaipur Railway station to catch train to Mathura.Our train started at 5:30 PM and reached Mathura at 4 AM in the morning.

Mathura : We took a hotel opposite to Vishram Ghat and slept for nearly 2 hrs as we were very tired.Mathura is one place which is one of the most important places in my list as I am ardent fan of Lord Krishna.The place is a dusty and busy town nowadays and a delightful place as this is the place where Little Krishna roamed in.

The small streets and the ghats, all make you feel excited and get into devotional mood.We first went to the Main Temple and I was stunned on looking at the number of Security personnel there.Huge security and stringent checks where they don’t allow anything to take inside.There is a Mosque built by Aurangazeb adjacent to the main temple.There are 2 small temples inside the Main temple complex and the whole place is placid and a perfect place for calm and peace.The inside area in the main temple is so beautiful and gives you a great feeling.We spent around 1 hr there and then we went to Dwarka Temple and seek blessings and then spent some time at Vishram Ghat and had a holy dip at Yamuna river.We rounded off the entire Mathura by 9:30 AM and at 10 Am we catch JanShatabdhi to Delhi.We dint had much time for Brindavan which adds much more delight to Mathura trip but as we have our return flight from Delhi,we were unable to accommodate that in this trip.But to be perfect,If one plan for Mathura/Brindavan trip along with Agra,that is the right one as Mathura is just 55 km from Agra.

Delhi: Delhi is more of a halt for us and a gateway to return Hyderabad.My Cousin came to H Nizamuddin Railway station to pick us at 1 PM and then we left to Akshardham temple.As it was Sunday,there was huge rush and we had to spend some time at the entry as there were long queues.This was my second visit to Akshardham and I really love the ambience and the variety they have there.It has 3 events totally.The first one is the detailed pictorial explanation of the life of Lord Swami Narayan which starts explanation about his childhood.And the next level is a 1 hr movie about him in an IMAX theatre.It really surprise and choke you when you think of having an IMAX theatre in a Temple complex.And the last stage is the water level where there will be an explanation of the findings of Indians and one travel by artificial boats on a man made water canal.It is very special and attracts everyone.This lasts for around 15 min.So,the total entertainment portion lasts for around 1 hr 45 min. Then at 4 PM,We went to Red Fort but there was huge rush and so we took snaps from outside only.Then we went to the road that takes to RastraPathi Bhavan.I will reckon it as the best road in the World.You see North Block,South Block,Parliament and RastraPathi Bjavan and from there to India Gate.

A great passage way and one gets complete satisfaction.Then at 6:15 PM,we reached India Gate and had a sip of tea there and when it got dark,we roamed over the streets of Delhi.The residences of Politicians,The houses and Bhavan s of different states of our Country and The Embassies of various Countries all over the World.We completed the tour by 9 PM and then we we were off to Gurgaon and that is where my cousin resides.Took rest that nite and at early morning 6:30,We took Indigo flight to Hyderabad and that completes a eventful and superb North India trip.

General information

Agra : Taj Ganz area got good accomodation options and it is easier to visit Taj Mahal when you stay in that area.Local transportation is good in Agra.I personally felt,Guide is not required for Taj Mahal visit.Buses are available to FatehPuri Sikhri from Agra and guides will trouble there also.This is place of Religious importance so there is no entry fee fot this place.A climp uphill from Bus Stand takes you to the Monuments.

Jaipur : Jaipur is busy with Traffic and city got good options for food and accomodation. You can arrange the day trip on your own.Contact your hotel guy as they can arrange an auto (365 Rs)or a car (800 Rs).

Pushkar : Pushkar is full of hotels and if you stay near Brahma Temple or Vishnu Temple,the ghats are very near and shopping area is also near.Pushkar got good shopping options.The famous Rajasthani dress Bandhini is available in Jaipur and Pushkar at an attractive price.In Pushkar,it is much more cheaper.

Jodhpur : Stay in a hotel where you get the Mehrangarh fort view in Jodhpur.It offers a thrilling moment if you can manage to spot the Fort from your room window..You can arrange the day trip on your own.Contact your hotel guy as they can arrange an auto (385 Rs)or a car (800 Rs).

Jaisalmer : Jaisalmer got hot climate and for Camel ride,you can book advance and lot of hotel guys will be present at the Railway station and you can directly check into a hotel with them if you dont have prior booking.Local sightseeing can be covered by foot and for Desert Safari,it costs around 1000-1500 for 2 members for half day tour and 2500-3000 for night stay in a hut near the desert area.These packages generally include camel safari and also pick by car.There are few high class arrangements also done for night stay by some local hotels in Jaisalmer.Sam Sand Dunes and Khuri Sand Dunes both are 45 km from Jaisalmer on different directions.So one can choose of their own.Local Buses are not available that often so these places can be explored mostly by Private car.Regarding Camel Safari,the initail journey will be approx 30-45min for 2 members on a single camel and if you offer some extra money like 250 -400,the camel guy will take you for few more rounds.

Udaipur : Udaipur is place for retreat and pleasure stay.There are top class accomodation facilites available here.The evening show at City Palace got tickets and the show normally starts at 8 PM.The ropeway at Doodhtalai will be great when you explore during sunset ie.,(5-6:30 PM).You can arrange the day trip on your own.Contact your hotel guy as they can arrange an auto (385 Rs)or a car (800 Rs).

Trip to Nilgiris

Which is the best hill station in South? Some pick Munnar and some pick Ooty.To summarize that,Munnar is king of all hill stations and Nilgiris is the Queen of all hill stations in South India.I say Niligiris why because there is lot to offer in the boundaries of Ooty than that place itself.So,Just to let everyone know about the existent beauty of Nilgiris I went to cover Nilgiris from a different perspective on new year’s eve.

Route : Hyderabad – Bangalore – (Theppakadu – Ooty – Coonoor – Kotagiri – Ooty ) –Bangalore – Hyderabad.

Duration : 4 days

We started on Wednesday at 7 PM by a train to Bangalore and reached Bangalore on Thursday morning at 7:30 AM and then after having breakfast,we started to Theppakadu (Muddumalai WLS) and we stopped at Mysore for lunch.

Muddumalai Wild Life Sanctuary : Then at around 3 PM,We reached Muddumalai Wild Life Sanctuary.This is what I say is the starting point of Nilgiris.Muddumalai is the best Wild life sanctuary in South India to spot Wild Elephants.The WLS offers tours to spot animals and it is

worth experiencing.One can spot Elephants,Spotted Deers,Wild Pigs for sure.The tour lasts for 30-45 min.Even without animals,the park is affluent with scenic views and get the feel of a thick jungle.We wrapped up the Muddumalai trip at 5 PM.

Muddumalai to Ooty route :There are 2 routes to go to Ooty from Muddumalai.The first one is the common and lengthy route of 65 km via Gudalur and Pykara which is used effectively by government buses.And the other one is the shorter 36 km route via Masigangudi, Kalhatty Ghat Road.This one is quicker but only small vehicles pass by this route since it is steep and becomes very difficult for big buses.One need to negotiate with 36 hairpin bends in this route but the route is very scenic.

Try this if you are going by private vehicle.It took around 90 min and then at 7 PM we reached Ooty.Then we straightaway headed to our Hotel and took rest that night.

Ooty : The next morning,we first went to Ooty Lake at 10 AM.The lake is placid and kool.Ooty lake is the best place in Ooty.There are pedal boats and one get complete privacy while boating on this lake.One can boat a minimum of 25 min for a couple pedal boat.

We also visited Thread Garden opposite to Ooty lake.It is okay.Skip this if you are on tight schedule.

Coonoor : Then we headed to Coonoor.Coonoor is 13 km from Ooty.Coonoor is a better place than Ooty because you go away from the commercialized Ooty.We first headed to Singara Tea gardens and spent some time in the rolling tea plantations of that valley.Then at 1 PM,we went to Lamb’s rock,3 Km from there.The entire route is exceptional with fantastic valleys full of tea plantations.

From Lamb’s rock,one need to amble for 1 Km to Dolphin’s nose.We started and reached Dolphin’s nose.Itr is the best view point in Coonoor and one can spot the Kotagiri tea estates and Water Falls from this view point.It is a must if you visit Coonoor.And we had lunch at Coonoor.Sim’s park is the other attraction in Coonoor which is just about okay.

Coonoor to Doddabetta to Ooty : And at 3 PM,we started to Dodda betta,the tallest accessible peak in South India.We reached Doddabetta at 4 PM and the route was very scenic.

Fog was ubiquitous since it is situated at 8,640 ft above MSL.One can find the complete view only in summer ie., from May-July.Then after spending some time we headed to Botanical garden in Ooty.

Back to Ooty : We reached there at 5:30 PM.The Garden is very woryth visiting.The Garden got the commercial look but it got lot of natural plants.We did some evening shopping that day and checked into the Hotel.The next day ie., Saturday,we went for early morning walk within the Ooty limits.

Ooty looked very beautiful in the early morning.We climbed up to few heights and checked some good views and then reached hotel at 8 AM.Then we got ready to leave to Kotagiri at 9:30 AM.

Kotagiri is the oldest and less travelled hill station in Nilgiris.It is infact the biggest tea exporter of Nilgiris.I love Rolling tea plantations and thatswhy I have chosen to visit Kotagiri.The route from Ooty to Kotagiri is the best of Nilgiris.Even if you don’t visit Kotagiri,drive for few kms in this route.

Kodanad View point,Rangaswamy Pillar and Catherine falls are the major tourist attractions in Kotagiri.But If you mange to visit Kodanad View point,you can see both Rangaswamy Pillar and Catherine falls from there.We reached Kotagiri at 10:45 AM.There are few Tea estates near the bus stand and we ambled near there and then at 11:30 AM,we started to Kodanad View point,18 km from Kotagiri.

Kodanad View point :The route is probably the best of Nilgiris .Superb, Awesome, Spectacular.You pass through lot of valleys,splendid tea estates.Reached Kodanad at 12:30 PM.this is the best view point of Nilgiris.One can see the clouds,Blue mountains,Plains over Coimbatore,Rangaswamy Pillar and Catherine falls from this view point.

This is heaven with uprising mist.The place is very far from Ooty and that keeps tourists away from this one but this one is for nature lovellers.There are numerous Tea esates near the view point such that once can amble near the view point.

Back to Ooty – Bangalore – Hyderabad : We started back to Ooty and reached Ooty at 6 PM and then left to Bangalore and spent free time in Bangalore on Sunday and at Sunday evening took a train to Hyderabad and reached Hyderabad on Monday morning.That sums up an eventful journey to the incredible Nilgiris.

General Information :Theppakadu is the place to reach to Muddumalai WLS.Theppakadu is having buses from lot of places.There are private buses from Masinagudi – Ooty via Kalhatty Ghat road.To reach Masinagudi,One can get into the jeep from Muddumalai to Masinagudi.Accomodation is Masinagudi are bountiful and always recommend to stay there to enjoy wildlife.There are regular buses to Coonoor and Kotagiri from Ooty and there is hourly bus to kodanad view point from Kotagiri.

My trip to Kolhapur and Mahabaleshwar

There are very good weekend destinations from Pune and this one provides a blend of Nature beauty and devotion. We planned to travel to Mahabaleshwar and Kolhapur.

Route : Pune - Kolhapur - Mahabaleshwar - Pune

Duration : 2 days

There is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and is slowly becoming very popular day trip from Pune.The Temple is a replica of the style of Tirumala with fantastic maintenance.The Temple visit is a must if you are in Pune.The Temple is termed as Balaji or Venky temple and is near the Bangalore Highway.After having the darshan we started our journey to Kolhapur.

Kolhapur : The route to Kolhapur is very good and is scenic in parts since the road follows to Goa and also mixes with Bangalore Highway.We negotiated few ghat sections with fine view of mountains.Since the road is in good shape,the journey time gets reduced considerably and also the ride is not tiring but the toll gates are more in the route.We reached the temple at 2 PM.The Temple of Goddess Lakshmi is of huge significance and the temple possess splendid architecture.There will be huge rush on Fridays and Sundays and will be normal on other days.

We had good darshan and started to Mahabaleshwar.Panchgani comes first and then Mahabaleshwar and the latter offers more variety.We reached Mahabaleshwar at 9:30 PM and then we took rest in the hotel.

Mahabaleshwar: Mahabaleshwar is the mother of all hill stations in Maharastra.The place offers panoramic views and a place full of straberries.There are lot of places of interest in Panchgani-Mahabaleshwar.

Gateway to Mahabaleshwar

Wilson point is the highest point in Mahabaleshwar and offers amazing view.Arthur’s seat is a must see.There are a series of few view points which links to one another starting from Hunter point,Malcolm point,Kate’s point,Majorie’s point and ends at Wilson point.One need to amble though a passage way to visit all these points.All the views are outstanding.Sunset point is not that great.Lingmala waterfalls is an excellent one.Mahabaleshwar temple is a fine place to visit.Pratapgad Fort is bit far and some 450 steps lead up to the top.Then we headed to Panchgani and drove to Parsi point which offers the best view around.Krishna Valley near to that is also superb one.Panchgani means ‘Plateau with five hills’ and Tableland is one place who brought glory to Panchgani.There is a huge vacant land at the top divided into 5 parts and there some awesome view points from the top.One need to go by Horse carts to cover all the spots.The place offers a unique experience and the horse ride offers a thrilling ride.Dont miss this,if you pay visit to Panchgani-Mahabaleshwar.There are good lakes for boating.Also visit Mapro garden to check good variety of flowers.So,from 8 AM till 5 PM,managed to cover all the points in Panchgani- Mahabaleshwar and then left to Pune.It was a hectic weekend but was full of joy.

My trip to Malaysia and Singapore

It all started when one of my friends recommended Malaysia and Singapore to travel around.And I wondered,If I plan for the same for my honeymoon, It will be an ultimate surprise for my gal.So I decided and we went ahead for a rejoicing and an exciting tour.

Route : Hyderabad - Kulalumpur - Langkawi - Kulalumpur - Genting Highlands - Kulalumpur - Singapore - Hyderabad.

Duration : 9 to 10 days

We took off from Hyderabad at 2 AM IST in the midnite.And then we reached at 8 AM the next day at Kualalumpur city.That kicked off our Day 1 of the tour.Kul was not on our agenda to start with.Kul is only the place which paves the way for Langkawi.We took the flight to Langkawi at 10:30 AM and then reached Langkawi at 11:30 AM.

Langkawi : Langkawi is a land of mystical islands.We were placed at Awana Porto Malai Resort straight away.Our accommodation is great.We have the view of few islands from our room since the Resort is very near to the Beach.Langkawi is full of International, Tourists and a very popular place.And,we rented a motor bike by producing my National Driving License.That day,We roamed in for some time and spent time in leisure.
Day 2,We started with Langkawi Underwater Aquarium.The Aquarium is fine.The Aquarium was just 2km from my Hotel.It is not a huge one and is priced high when you compare with the benefits you get visiting that place.Then we were off to Langkawi Eagle Square.It is the landmark of Langkawi.The place is impressive with the Giant Eagle statue.And then we went to Langkawi Super Market and did some shopping and we called off the day by visiting few exotic beaches.Travel in and around Langkawi offers commading views of the landscapes and you see beaches on one side of the Road.The beaches are so unique with gorgeous islands.

Day 3,We started our day by paying visit to Langkawi Cable Car ride,This is situated at an isolated position and the route to this place offers you perfect drive.Langkawi Cable ride is a place where you have Hanging bridge at 2000 Feet atop.It is a man made marvel.One can reach top with the help of Cable cars.The ride in the cabel car will be very thrilling and the most gripping cable car rides in Asia.

You pass through thick forests and a cataract.Once you reach the top,you will see beautiful views of Langkawi Islands and the ambience becomes very cold.This is the place where SRK and Farhan Akthar’s Don film climax was shooted.The visit gives you a fascinating experience and a must see.Lankawi trip without cable car is not at all recommendable.Island Hopping is a 3 hr activity where one will get the chance to pass through Islands in the boat and also Langkawi Magrove tour is a 2 hr tour and is worth visiting.That concluded our Langkawi trip. And then we took the next day early morning flight to Kul.
Day 4, Reached Kul at 10 AM and then we were picked by our Travel Agent and he drove us to

Genting Highlands : Genting Highlands,the most admired Mountain Resort in Asia.We covered Batu Caves in route to Genting and Batu Caves is popular for Hindu pilgrims.It took around 3 hrs to reach Genting.Genting also offers Cable car facility to reach Hill top.

Once you reach to the top,one will get to see an electrifying ambience.The climate will be too cold and there are lot of amusement activities in Genting.First World is the major hotel in Genting for accommodation.It is a 30 storied building.There is one Outdoor theme park in Genting and is worth visitng.And once,it becomes dark,one will spend time in the Indoor theme park and in the Casinos.Genting is a small place and the whole activity is concentrated in and around First World Hotel.Genting is termed as “Las Vegas of Asia” and thatswhy we see lot of tourists from the neighbouring Countries garner there to play Casinos in Genting.An ideal place for entertainment for family because of theme parks.

Day 5,Kulalumpur : We came back to Kul and then we travelled in the Kul city and visited these places Jamek Mosque,The Oldest Mosque Located At The Confluence Of 2 Rivers, King’s Palace, National Monument and the National Museum. And also passed through the Parliament House, Supreme Court and finished off with China Town.Humidity factor is more in Kul and the city offers lot of sight seeing attractions and a wonderful city to visit.
Day 6,We woke up very early in the morning and reached Petronas Towers.Petronas Towers issues Sky Ride tickets early in the morning and there will be huge demand for that. So,One need to queue up in the line from 6 AM since the issuing of tickets starts at 8 AM.We took the tickets for first show and had that experience.The lift takes you to the 42nd floor where the twin towers get connected by a bridge and we ambled inside the bridge.It was an exhilarating experience.Superb.I will savor those moments all through my life.

We will be allowed to spend 15 min on the Sky Bridge and we finished that and returned to Hotel and then We started exploring the new Administrative Capital of Malaysia ,Putrajaya .Putrajaya is a treat to one’s eyes.The buildings are of Arabic architecture.You will see novelty in ambience once you reach Putrajaya.There is a magnificent Mosque in the complex and the Prime Minister’s office and few more offices are amazingly structured ones.Putrajaya brings a new look to the Kul city and is must if you love different architectured buildings.There is also Ferry service to explore all the buildings in Putrajaya.Putrajaya is situated very far from the City Centre and the whole place is full of gardens.A place worth visiting.We spent around 4 hrs there and then we were off to Kul Railway Station to catch a train to Singapore.Our train started at 20:40 Hrs and reached Singapore’s first Station at 5 AM on Day 7.
Day 7,We had Immigration check there and that station is only for Immigration check and one need to get back to their train after completing the Immigration procedures so that they will get down at the Final destination of Singapore.

Singapore : We reached Singapore at 8:30 AM and then we were off to the Hotel and took some time to refresh and then we started to the Sentosa Island.Sentosa is an awesome place.A Recreation place for full entertainment.There are 3 ways to reach Sentosa Island.By Road,By MonoRail and By Cable Car.We opted the Cable car and the ride was full of fun since we pass through the Gigantic Bridges,Beach etc.We first visited the Under water Aquarium.It is fantastic.I have visited few Aquariums like in Chicago,Malaysia.But this one is best of all.It is well maintained and got lot of creatures.The Sting Rays,different kinds of fishes,Whales etc etc.An absolute delight for everyone.Once we are done with Aquarium,we went to the Dolphin Show and this show was awesome.And I must admit,It is also the best Dolphin show and I heard infact this is the best one.And one will experience pleasure by watching this show.The Dolphins behave so naturally and they exhibit quite an incredible stunts.It lasts about 40 min and is a complete miracle.Then we went to the Lion King,The Sentosa Landmark. We will be shown a small film based on the formation of Singapura and once we are done with that we will be taken to a Lift and we reach to the top and the view from the top ie., from the mouth of the lion King is exceptional.Then, we went to last item ie., Songs of the Sea.It is truly majestic.I must say ,it is a Man’s prodigious creation.Phenomenal.

They have 2 shows per day at 7 and 8 PM.We will be allowed only for 1 show and I must say,It is the best visual show I ever seen.The Laser show and special effects are tremendous and it is the show that is technically brilliant.Infact this show sets up the rank of Sentosa Island.And this is mandatory for all the visitors of Sentosa Island.We returned to our Hotel once we completed our Sentosa trip.

Day 8,We started the day with Singapore Sight seeing.A remarkable city.Truly Worldclass.Majestic buildings,Supreme Transport system.It is quite spectacular.We covered Cricket Club, Parliament House, Supreme Court and City Hall.And ambled to Esplanade – mouth of Singapore River.Merlion Statue with scenic view of Suntec City is the best place in Singapore Sight seeing.

It provides picturesque views and is quite a delightful place.One can have the boat trip.We also visited a Gem Factory and finally did lot of shopping.Singapore is the perfect place for Shopping where you get lot of stuff for reasonable rates.
Day 9,We took our Train back to Kualumpur and we got into the train at 9 AM and reached Kul at 3 PM and left to Kul International Airport and then took the night flight to India.A trip which will be relished in our memories alltime.

General Information :
Langkawi offers good Indian Restaurants and Island Hopping and Mangrove Tour are tour operated and depends on the weather conditions.Bike and Car rentals are easy and affordable.Langkawi Cable Car shuts down when there is big cloud cover.
One need to queue up in line inside Petronas for Sky Ride.The line will be big on weekends and holidays.But One must be at the venue atleast by 6:30 AM even on weekdays also.Taxis are available to Putrajaya from City Centre and Putrajaya is near to KUL International Airport.
Singapore got 2 Railway stations.One at the entrance of Singapore which will be operated by Singapore Government and hence the Immigration Check will be carried out there.But the end point is at the Singapore station which is under Malaysian Government.That is the only place in Singapore that is still under Malaysian Government.If you are buying Sentosa tickets, include Songs of the Sea,Aquarium on that.Mono Rail and Cable Car gives you a fine experience.

My Trip to Ujjain and Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh

This was one of the most anticipated trips for me.I had planned for this trip long back and it took almost 7 months to execute that..

Route : Pune-Ujjain-Omakareshwar-Pune.

Duration : 2 days

It was a grand one.Morelike the main source that driven me to visit these places is all because of Jyothrilingas.I have covered 5 before this trip and with this I can say 7 are done and still 5 are pending.My journey started on friday evening at 3:30 PM.Got into a train and reached Ujjain at 7:30 AM on saturday.Had refreshed there and then started to ancient Ujjain.

Ujjani : Ujjain is full of devotees.Its a pleasure to watch the conglomeration of sadhus and all other kinds of people.I first visted the Mahakalsehwar temple(Jyothirlings)The Shivlinga is by far the biggest of all Jyothirlingas I have seen.The Linga is of significant importance.People who visit this temple are blessed with good health and live for longer life.Ujjain also features the Gadkali temple.Infact Ujjain is one of 3 places in India which features both Kali and Shiva temples.The Gadkalika temple is the temple where Kalidasa acquainted knowledge when the Goddess written few words on his tongue.

The temple is 3 km from MahaKaleshwar Temple.The one that got utmost importance is Sandipani Ashram,this is where Lord Krishna learnt few lessons from Sandipani Guru and Lord Shiva listened to them in the form of an Idol.Shikara river forms the backdrop of Ujjain City.The view from Ram Ghat is exceptional and here we can get a fine chance to dip into the river water.Bhartrihari Caves,These

caves are situated just above the bank of the Shipra near the temple of Gadkalika. According to popular tradition, this is the spot where Bhartrihari, who is said to have been the step brother of Vikramaditya, lived and meditated after renouncing worldly life. He is believed to have been a great scholar and poet.The other places I covered in Ujjain are Bade Ganeshji Ka Mandir,Pir Matsyendranath,Kaliadeh Palace Situated on the banks of the Shipra,Harsiddhi Temple,Siddhwant temple,Mangalnath,Gopal Mandir.

That winded off the Ujjain and at 4 PM,started to Omkareshwar.
There is no direct link to Omkareshwar from Ujjain.So travelled to Indore first and then to Omakareshwar.Reached Omkareshwar at 7:30 PM.Straightaway went to the hotel and relaxed at the hotel that nite.

Omakareshwar : The next morning,had darshan at the Omakareshwar temple.The Jyothirlings here is a small one and a grandeur one for pujas because of less crowd we get good time to spend on pujas,Abhishekam etc.Naramada River splits Omkareshwar into two parts.One part is for hotels etc and the other one is for Ghats and the main temple.One need to amble on the bridge which connects the two junctions.The place is very scenic and there are few more places of attraction in Omkareshwar.Had visted few ghats with the help of boat trip.And,trekked few steps to the top near the temple and there found a marvelous Jain temple and Sleeping Hanuman and a giant statue of Lord Shiva.A great place.Omkareshwar resembles Varanasi with the River flow,Ghats etc.The place is devotional and will make you feel placid.All in all,I am very much blessed to cover these two important places.

MP Tourism permits 2 buses one at 10:30 AM and the other at 2:30 PM for Ujjain Darshan.The Buses cover all the prominent places of Ujjain.The bus starts from Mahakaleshwar temple and the temple is 3 km from City Railway Station.Triveni Ghat is situated in the route of Indore,20 km from Ujjain.One need to go by Auto or private vehicle to access this place.Omkareshwar provides good accomodation facilities and the bus service starts outside the town.One need to cover 1 km by road from Omkareshwar main place to reach to the bus station.Khandwa(KNW) is the nearest Railway station from Omkareshwar.There are frequent buses to Khandwa from Omkareshwar.

My Trip to Aurangabad,Ellora,Grishneshwar and Ajanta Caves

This is about history. Ajanta,Ellora and Aurangabad. We started at 4:30 AM from Pune on Saturday.We reached Aurangabad at 9 AM. Aurangabad is 230 Km from Pune.

Route : Pune - Aurangabad - Grishneshwar - Ellora - Ajanta - Pune

Duration : 2 Days

Aurangabad :Had breakfast and then we were off to Bibi ka Maqbara.It was constructed under the reign of Auranagzeb's son AzamShah.It was a loving tribute to his mother.It is termed as “Poor man's TajMahal”.The mahal is a replica of Taj Mahal.The pillars are black in color.And they call this as Black TajMahal.

We spent fine time there and then we left to Grishneshwar.
Grishneshwar is the place for Jyothirlinga.There are 12 Jyothirlingas in our country and this is one of them.Grishneshwar is 32 km from Aurangabad and 2 km from Ellora Caves.In this temple,we can touch the linga and offer milk and flowers to the Lord Shivalinga.We had quick darshan,thanks to less horde in the temple.Then we had lunch.

Exceptional cave structures in Ellora

Ellora & Ajanta: Post lunch,we explored the majestic Ellora caves.There are around 34 in number.Ellora is a blend of Hindu,Buddhist and Jain Caves.Hindu Caves are majority in number infact around 18.Cave 16 is the most prominent one and it is the best of all.The Cave features the Kailasa Temple.The replica of Shiva temple on Mount Kailash.The architecture is splendid and the walks on around the temple makes you spellbound.Ellora is quite a big place and one cant amble the whole caves.It is not worth to cover all the caves and also waste of time.Out of whole bunch of Caves in Ellora,the following are the ones to check out and the rest are ignorable.Caves 1,5,6,10,11,12,14,15,21,29,30 and 32. In the evening,we started to Ajanta.Ajanta is 102 km from Ellora.We resided that nite at MTDC resort in Fardhapur,4 km from Ajanta Caves.The accommodation was very good.Ajanta Caves are situated on the top of a hill and only MSRTC buses ply to that place.Ajanta Caves are easy to explore compared to Ellora.There are around 30 in number and all the caves are Buddhist caves.The speciality of Ajanta Caves is murals.The paintings are losing their shine and till 1841,they were completely unknown.A Britisher found this marvel when he was hunting a tiger.There are no records under whom,these caves were made but these caves are exceptionally made by adroit workers.The caves are majorily revolves around the life of Buddha.His birth,his enlightenment and finally nirvana. Out of whole bunch of Caves in Ajanta,the following are the ones to check out and the rest are ignorable.Caves 1,2,4,6,7,9,10,16,17,19,24 and 26. A momentous trip overall.

Ellora does not provide good accomodation facilities.It is better to stay in Auranagabad for night halt and Ajanta provides decent accomodation and the lodges are situated just 4-5 km from the caves.Only MSRTC buses ply to the Ajanta Caves.One need to park the vehicles in the parking and go by MSRTC bus to reach Ajanta Caves.Grishneshwar,one of most sacred Shiva lingas is just 2 km away from Ellora Caves.

My trip to Alibag,Murud in Maharastra

This is a trip which is very relishing. I went to Alibag and Murud as part of weekend getway.

Route : Pune - Mahad - Alibag -Murud - Pune

Duration : 2 days

We started at 8:30 AM on saturday and first reached Asta Vinayak Temple at Mahad.

Mahad :There are 8 Asta Vinayak temples in Maharastra and this one of them.The Vinayaka idol in this temple is termed as "Giver of Success".The temple is 2 hrs drive from Pune.We had darshan and started from there to Alibag at 11:30 AM.

Alibag : We reached Alibag at 1 PM.We had lunch there and then,we were off to the fort located on one side of the sea.One can amble in the water which will be of low depth either they can go by horse cart.We ambled to the fort.We spent some time at the fort.The fort is good one and the view from the fort of the sea shore is ace.This is where,the song “Tu Hi Re” from the film popular film “Bombay” was shot.Alibag beach is a different one because there is always a change in the water level as per the timmings.In the early morning till afternoon 2,we see big levels of water and there after the water level comes down.The water level remain low till 6 PM and then from there,it again gets fully populated with water.A very special and different beach..We left Alibag and departed to Kashid(Our accomodation area).

Kashid : Kashid is 25 km from Alibag.We reached Kashid at 7 PM and all went agape after seeing the accomadation facilities at Kashid.The place was awesome.We got everything there.Gardens,neat rooms.And its sunday morning,everyone got up at 6:30 AM and then,we were off to Kashid beach.Kashid beach is one f the best beaches on Konkan coast.It is a white sand beach and the depth is not that deeper,that enabled to go deeper into the sea.We all played beach volley ball by forming into two teams and we also played football and then,we played water sports in the water.The beach is famous for low tides.We played with the waves and also moved in the direction of waves.It was exhilerating and a thrilling experience.We reached back to our rest house at 9:30 AM.Then,we started to Murud at 11:30 AM.

Kashid Beach is a perfect place for retreat

Murud :Murud is 20 km from Kashid.Murud is famous for Janjira fort which is on the island n the sea.We went to the fort by boats.The boat ride was thrilling one since because the boats are not motor boats and they move with the help of air flow.The fort is majestic.Very big one.We spent some time n the fort and stared to Kashid from Murud at 3 PM. We had lunch at 3:35 PM and then we started to Pune at 5 PM.We stopped at Birla Mandir in route and spent sometime there.We reached Pune at 9:30 PM and we had loads and loads of masti. All in all,An ace trip.Njoyed a lot.

My Trip to Bheemshankar

I went to Bheemshankar to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.Bheemshankar is famous for Jyothirlinga of Lord Shiva.

Route : Pune-Bheemshankar-Pune.

Duration : 1 Day

The place is 120 km from Pune.3 Jyothirlingas are present in Maharastra and Bheemshankar is one along with Triambakeshwar(Near Nasik) and Hrishneshwar(Near Ellora Caves).The temple possess splendid architecture.The main gopuram is artistic and it is a small temple.The temple is the only big attraction in the town.Bheemshankar is present on the hills and we come across various ghat sections on route to this place.The temple is around 1 km walk from the town bus station.A fine place filled with Hindu devotees. After seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva,I headed towards the jungle.

Jyothirlinga Temple of Bheemashankar

I trekked for 3 km to visit a place where Lord Hanuman's mother did meditation.This place attracts very few tourists since it is very far,to and fro distance covers around 7 km.We find a unique statue of Lord Hanuman and his Mother at this place.Infact it is a very special and rare statue.People offer prayers to that statue. This is all about Bheemshankar.

General Information:
Bheemshankar does not provide good Lodging and Boarding facilities.Transport is good.Buses run from Pune Shivaji Nagar and Swargate bus stations for every 30 min.Actually one can cover Nasik and Bheemshankar and Shirdi if they plan for 2 day trip with overnight accomodation in Nasik.

Nasik : Nasik is 220 km from Pune.Spent some time in the hotel at Nasik and then started my journey to cover Nasik.Nasik is full of Temples.And also,The river Godavari falls from Brahmagiri hill and settles down in Nasik City.Thatswhy,we find lot of shallow bodies of water of River Godavari here.

Punchavati is the most important place in Nasik.Near to that,RamaKund Water tank is the place whre u find heavy blows of river Godavari.Sundar Narayan Temple is the most important temple of Nasik present near to that.The whole area around Punchavati is full of Godavari water with temples.The place is good and is the best place of Nasik.There are around 1000 temples in Nasik city alone.But the major ones are present near the Punchavatti.The temples here are of different architecture unlike South.
After finishing the major destinations in Nasik,started journey to Triambakeshwar.

Valleys near Nasik

Triambakeshwar :Lord Shiva is present in the form of 12 Jyothirlingas in India.And Triambakeshwar is one of them.Triambakeshwar is 28 km from Nasik.The temple is majestic.It is in Hemadpant archirtecture and the temple was remodelled by Seshawas.Lord Shiva here is called as "Triambakam Goutami Tate".The major importance of this place is Godavari got its birth here on the top of Brahmagiri hill and that water falls down and settled in Nasik.People here call Godavari as the "Ganges of the West".Infact people in this part term Godavari as Ganga.But actually,it is River Godavari not Ganga.Had darshan of Lord Shiva and after that started trekking the Brahmagiri Hill.Godavari Birth place is 600 stepts from the base.

Once we climb the 600 steps,we find the birth place of Godavari.They call that place as"Ganga ka Dwaar".We also spotted 108 Shiva Lingas in a small cave.The entire trek was scenic and great.But was painstaking.There was a nice bathing ghat in Triambakeshwar.So,finished everything at Triambakeshwar and reached Nasik at 6 PM.Then catched the bus to Shirdi and reached Shirdi at 9 PM on saturday.

Shirdi : Shirdi is the place that belongs to Sai Baba.Shirdi is 85 Km from Nasik.The temple is of immense importance to a lot of Hindu Devotees.Shirdi is a placid and an excellent place.Dwarakamai,Chavadi are the places of significance other than the main temple.Shirdi is having buses run almost all parts of the country.Shani Singanapur is very famous and is just 40 km from Shirdi.One can offer special puja to Shani God and get free from all the bad effects of Shani.A prominent place for Shani.

Nasik is well developed in terms of Food and Accomodation facilities.Transport is also in good condition.There are two Bus stands in Nasik.Triambakeshwar buses run from Old Central Bus Stand and Buses to Pune,Mumbai and other parts of the country run from New CBS.Old CBS is ½ Km from New CBS.

Valparai and Topslip in Tamil Nadu

The enchanting Tamil Nadu.It was an excellent trip.I have explored Coimbatore and its neighbouring hill stations.

Route : Bangalore-Coimbatore-Pollachy-Valparai-TopSlip-Bangalore.

Duration : 2 days

I started from Bangalore on friday nite by train and reached Coimbatore on saturday morning.Spent some time in the City and then started to Pollachy.It is 45 min journey from Coimbatore.

Pollachy : Pollachy forms the core backdrop of a lot of Tamil films.The town is good,More of trading.Pollachy is the place for accomodation.

From there,

Valparai : We started to Valparai(A hill stn 60 km from Pollachy).Monkey falls and Aliyar dam are worth watching in the route to Valparai from Pollachy.We covered Monkey falls on route to Valparai,which is 20 km from Pollachy.The falls is recommendable but monkeys are in huge number.

After spending sometime there,we proceeded to Valparai.

Valparai,Your typical Tea territory

Valparai is a serene hill station full of lustrous tea plantations and waterfalls.It is just a beautiful creation of God.A splendid place.Must be around 6300 MSL.To reach this place,One must pass through the deadliest route in the South India(includes 45 Hairpin bends).It is quite a struggling effort to reach to the top.But once u reach at the top,It was awesome.Spectacular.I dont know how can I describe this place.Kudos to the TNSRTC for providing access to this beautiful place with their buses.One must appreciate the driving skills f these Drivers.They r true Champions to me.May b becoz f the difficulty involved in travelling to this place,we spotted very few tourists in this place.The local tribes are in heavy groups and their dancing needs to be mentioned.Valparai is just a treat to one's eyes if he/she manages to overcome that tiresome journey of around 2 hrs from Pollachy.The route passes through various tea estates and one will enjoy this fabulous drive.All in all,i rate Valparai as one of the best destination seen till date.

Topslip : Topslip on sunday morning.TopSlip consitutes teak wood forests and (Anaimalai)Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary.A Sanctuary on the Western Ghats.The sanctuary is okie not that great are better than with the likes of Muddamalai(ooty) and Periyar(Kerala).We went for trekking and spotted few animals.Actually,i saw a King Cobra when we were approaching Topslip.I was inside the vehicle.It was a thrilling feeling.I didnt spotted any Elephants.But Samba and other animals are in good numbers in this Sanctuary.But that Cobra thing is truly fascinating.The Reception Centre is very gud where they got gud collection of dead specimen of various creatures.I even bought a shirt which holds the logo of this Sanctuary.Something to remember.All in all,TopSlip is a mediocre hill station.The major problem with Topslip is the lack of wheel riding Vehicles inside the Wildlife Sanctuary.The Sanctuary is not a popular one.But the trek inside the Sanctuary is a worthy one.The route from Pollachy to Topslip is juicywhich passes through Coconut trees and hills.

So,TopSlip Valparai combo is an ace weekend getaway.Adventure as well as Natural beauty.

Pollachy offers good accomodation and transport facilities.Gateway to go to these 2 places.Pollachy also provides good scenic views as well.

Cauvery and Talkkad in Karnataka

This was a special one.A trip to Cauvery river and a historic place Talakkad.We were 8,hired a Qualis and started at 6:30 AM from Bangalore.

Route : Bangalore - Cauvery - Talakkad - Bangalore

Duration : 1 day

Cauvery :Reached Cauvery river at 9:30 AM and spent 3 hrs there.Did boating.The river is scenic.Actually,People can plan for Rafting which starts from Bheemeshwari(7 Km) and pass through this River.Cauvery River comes under Muthani town which has a Wildlife Sanctuary but without animals.A worthy scenic drive from Bangalore.

Talakkad :Then headed to Talakkad.This place is 140 km from Bangalore.The whole place was filled with sand upto 40 feet,thousands of years ago.But as days prolonged,Existence of Mankind and other things changed this place.A few years before,Archaeological Department explored this place, digged and found new monuments and temples.There are 5 temples in this Place.2 Vishnu Temples,1 Shiva temple,1 Durga Temple and 1 Pataleshwara Termple.This place is famous for Panchalinga.Before heading,i expected this place to be like Badami of karanataka.It turned out to be the other.All the temples are very old and are very prominent.Cauvery river forms the backdrop for this place.A good place but more of mythology.

Interested people can cover ShivaSamudra Fall which comes inroute to Talakkad from Bangalore.One have to take diversion from Mandya.But they need to skip Cauvery if they have only one day.So Talakkad can be accessible form Bangalore via 2 scenic Routes.

My Trip to Northern and Central Tamil Nadu

It was a loong weekend.So,We planned for a trip to Northern and Central Tamil Nadu(the uncovered part for me).

Route : Chennai - Mahabalipuram - Tiruvannamalai - Pondicherry - Chidambaram - Kumbhakonam - Thiruveyaar - Trichy - SriRangam -Yercaud - Hogennekal falls

Duration : 6 Days

We started from Chennai at 10AM on friday.Our first destination was Mahabalipuram (60 km from Chennai).Before reaching that place,we halted at a Crocodile Bank(15 km before),which holds around 2000 crocs.

Mahabalipuram :Finished off that and reached Mahabalipuram at 1:30 PM.First covered the Seashore Temple.The temple is gud. Mahabalipuram is a World Heritage Centre.From that temple,we proceeded to Sculpture centre.The carvings and designs on the Rocks are exceptional.Then went to Light house and finished that.

Tiruvannamalai :We started to Tiruvannamalai at 4:15 PM from Mahabalipuram . Tiruvannamalai is 160 km from there.Tiruvannamalai is famous for Arunachalam temple,where devotees go for Giri Pradakshana (amble around a small hill,which constitutes 15 km in total).Spent that nite in an Ashram and relaxed.

The next day,we started our trek towards the hill.We started at 4:30 AM and finished the entire trek by 8:30 AM.Then straight away headed to temple.Lord Shiva temple and one of the forms of PanchaLinga(Fire).The temple is majestic.A replica of Madurai.Then headed to Ramana maharshi Asramam and spent some time there.Finished the enire schedule of work there and departed to Pondicherry.

Pondicherry : Pondy is 85 km from Tiruvannamalai.Reached Pondy at 5 PM and covered Aurovillo Ashramam and then headed to Pondy Bridge.This is the best.Thanks to my Cousin for getting permission(since this is a Private property).The bridge that takes u into the sea.the view was spectacular and infact it given us an IMAX vision of the blue sea.Outstanding.Pondy is a very gud city with European feel and excllent roads.The beach road is fabulous.Stayed at a hotel that nite.

Chidambaram and Kumbhakonam: The next morning,we headed to Chidambaram.It is 70 Km from Pondy.Chidambaram is famous for Shiva Temple and one of the forms of PanchaLinga(Sky).And it is also famous for Chidambara rahasyam.A secret where one can unlock at this particular place.We are lucky to witness the LingaAbhishekam.Chidambaram holds a dancing event in the first season of every year.The dancing hall is very big.Things got delayed in Chidambaram and infact we reached Kumbakonam(50 km) at 1 PM.Unfortunately,all the temples were closed at that time.So we took few snaps of some temples and left from there after having lunch.Kumbakonam is the land of 150 temples.

Thiruveyaar : From there,we headed to Thiruveyaar(25 km from Kumbakonam).Thiruveyaar is the place that belongs to Thyagaiah.We find a temple as well as a Comminity hall with the Cauvery river Backdrop.The hall holds Thyagaiah's writings and his statue.A fine place.

Tanjore : From there,we headed to Tanjore(20 km).Bruhadeshwar Temple is the best place in Tanjore.The temple is ace.Infact one of the best ever temples in terms of design.Splendid architecture.And the major factor of the Temple is that one cant see the shadow of this temple.Tanjore is a World Heritage Centre.Then covered Palace and left to Trichy.

Trichy and SriRangam :Trichy is 50 km from Tanjore.Reached Trichy at 7:45 AM and went to Jambukeshwaralayam in Sri Rangam.Shiva Temple and one of the forms of PanchaLinga(Water).Stayed that nite in Sri Rangam(7 km from Trichy).
The next day,we went to Sri Rangam temple.The temple holds the biggest Gopuram in the World.The temple and the God is special.Prasadamas are also tasty.All in all,an excellent temple.One need to walk for around 1 km to get inside the temple.

Yercaud : Finished the entire schedule by 11 AM and started to Yercaud.Yercaud is a hill station,30 km from Salem.Yercaud is 4700 MSL.The hill station is serene.Gud hill station with coffee plantations,orange,papaya etc.Beautiful valleys and one need to negotiate 20 hairpin bends to reach Yearcaud.That day,we covered Kiliyur falls.There is nothing in the falls but the valley view is good.Then in the nite,we went to Lady's seat.Lady's seat provides the exceptional view of Salem city in the lights.The city glows in the nite.Worthy one.We trekked for sometime n the nite.

The next day was a rest day for us.Infact we wake up at 8:30 AM on that day and started exploring Yercaud.Covered Sheveroy hills(5,302 ft MSL).The entire place was excellent.Then covered Pagoda Point,which offers breathtaking views.After lunch,we headed to cauvery Peak.The route passes through various villages of Yercaud.It was scenic.We enjoyed a lot.Then had boating in the Yercaud lake and spent that nite there.Infact we choked the entire team by arraging a Camp fire.The experience was great.

Hogennekal falls : On the last day of our trip,we stared early in the morning(At 7 AM) and reached Hogennekal falls (45 km from Dharmapuri).Hogennekal falls is the one of the best water falls in the coutry.It constitues 20 falls and we were amazed by the sheer beauty of that place.A place where one needs to work very hard to climb from one hill to the other.We need to travel through small boats.All in all,a great cataract for all.

That completed my 6 day trip and from there,I started to Bangalore and rest of the team left to Chennai.

Go Go Goa.What a fabulous place?I visited this place when I was doing my Engineering.Infact this started my campaign of exploring the Country.We were 8, hired a Qualis and travelled 2900 Km in total(From Adilabad to Goa,to and fro).We had spend 5 days and covered 13 beaches.We have covered the best of Goa from Churches to beaches,everything infact.A lovely trip with my college mates. We stayed in Vasco and explored Goa everyday.

Colva Beach : On the first day,we were off to Colva Beach,the longest beach in Goa.Colva ia a good beach with gud restaurants around.Colva is a must beach in everybody's itinerary just because it is the biggest one in Goa.Spent 3 hrs there and went to

Palolem Beach : Palolem which is at the tip of Goa.Palolem is the sexiest beach of all.Filled with coconut tress.The beach is placid with small tides.A perfect beach to get in.The ambience is pure.I must say,we hired a small boat and went into the sea.Infact it was 18:30 hrs and by the time we reached in the middle,the engine of the boat stopped working and it was raining.We got scared and finally we reached the Sea banks after 30 min of hullabaloo in the sea.Infact Boat rides are very famous in Palolem since you find traditional boats in Palolem.That night,we returned Vasco and started the next day with dhoom.

Quernie Beach: Went to Quernie Beach,the most isolated one in Goa and infact the deepest one in Goa.We didnt got into the water.The beach is a very good one but not a popular one.We lost camera at this beach later got it after a small drama.

Arambol and Mandrem Beach : Then reached Arambol beach,one of the smallest and worthy beaches of Goa.Then reached Mandrem beach,A great one which is around 4 km from Arambol.All these 3 beaches are at the extreme top of the Goa District.They are around 35 km from Vasco.

Vagator Beach and Aguada fort : The next day,we started to Vagator Beach.It is one of the best beaches of Goa.The famous scene of the Dil Chahta film was shot at this Beach only.One need to climb up some distance to see beautiful landscapes.This is a must see beach.Near to vagator Beach,Aguada Fort and Jail are present.The fighting scenes of Josh film were shot here.A gud one.

Anjuna Beach : Then reached Anjuna Beach,It is a fine one.But the major attraction here is Foreign Market.The ambience there was electric.Infact a hitech bazaar.

Sinquerrim Beach : After spending some time,departed to Sinquerrim beach,one of the most popular beach in Goa because of Taj 5 star Reasort.Beach volley ball is the most played sport there.And one of the most enjoyable beach in Goa.

Then returned home and slept that nite.Foodwise,Non Vegetarians will relish but very very difficult for Vegetarians.

Dona Paula Beach : On the 4th day,we straight away went to Dona Paula Beach.Infact there is a lake by this name near to that.It is okie kind of beach.

Miramar Beach : Then reached Miramar Beach which is visible from the main Road.Infact Miramar beach passes through the main Road and you can enjoy the view of beach while passing through that beach.

Calangute Beach : Then reached Calangute Beach(5 km).Calangute is the one of the popular beaches in Goa.A beach for everyone.Lovely one.Candolim is 2 km from Calangute.

Baga Beach : Spend some time there and left to Baga(3km).Baga is very special beach because it is a small one and you feel the gusty sound of waves.On return to home again went back to calangute.Reached Vasco and slept that nite.

Churches in Old Goa and Mapusa : On 5th day,we covered few Churches in Old Goa and finally went to Mapusa,which holds special market on Fridays.Mapusa Market is a special one for purchasing and get closed at 19 30 hrs.At 17:30 hrs,we started back to Adilabad in Andhra pardesh.A spectacular drive.One will enjoy Goa if they go in groups.A place of enjoyment for sure.

This is the most important and the most interesting trip for me of all.Especially,this was with my cousins and also this trip was on full fledge for 15 days.Just like a marathon.It was a spectacular tour to two great states Tamil Nadu and Kerala for 2 weeks .

Places Covered : Madurai,Munnar(Kerala),Rameswaram,Kodai Kanal ,Palani, Kanya Kumari , Tiruchendhur, Kollam, Alleppey,Thekkady,Trichy and SriRangam

Duration : 15 days

I resided at my cousin’s home in Madurai and covered all these places since Madurai is the centre point to visit these places.

Madurai Madurai is a gateway to culture and heritage.The Khoobsurat Meenakshi temple is undoubtably the 2nd wonder of our country.4 giant Gopurams shielding the Goddess,4 small ones,1 Gold Gopuram and the beautiful Golden Lotus tank.There are some good places other than the temple in the city such as the Allagar Kovil(15 km from City Bus Stand),Tirumalai Nayagar Mahal (Famous place for film shootings) which is 2 km from Bus Stand.

Munnar We went to Munnar from there.Munnar is 160 km from Madurai.We have to travel 80 km on the ghats.Munnar is 5700 ft above the sea level.If this isn’t bliss,what is? The place is filled with lustrous green locales of tea plantations,Colossal mountains,steep valleys,placid lakes,Viewpoints,excellent parks and wildlife sancturies.It has everything. It is a magic carpet.We explored the place with the help of motor bikes,infact u can hire bikes and other means of transport.We spent 2 days there.It was truly awesome.Munnar is the 2nd biggest producer of tea in the Country.The best place of our trip.

Rameswaram We came back to Madurai and went to Rameswaram next day.It is 170km from Madurai.A good place.The temple is great.Tall and white Gopuram and we had a holy bath in the 21 wells present inside the temple.Pamban Bridge,floating stone are special.

Kodai kanal The next day,we started to Kodai kanal.It is around 120 km from Madurai.Kodai is 4500 ft above sea level.A very cold place.Pillar Rocks,Green valley view point etc.Kodai lake is the most beautiful place.We found quite a few people in the place.It was nice.Kodai kanal is a place exclusive for Honey moon couples.Where as Munnar serves for all.

Palani Tamil Nadu is famous for Muruga(KumaraSwamy) temples.There r 6 Muruga temples in the State.Palani temple is the best Muruga temple in the Country.The temple is situated on a small hill.The most interesting thing is,u can get to the hill with the help of a rope car or a small train(trench).We used both the kinds of Transport in going up and down.The temple is great.Palani is 65 km from Kodai Kanal and 120 km from Madurai.

Kanya Kumari Then,We went to a gorgeous place called Kanya Kumari.It is 240 km from Madurai. Triveni Sangamam,mix of the Indian Ocean,Arabian sea and Bay of Bengal.Sunrise is worth watching.The cruise route to the Vivekananda rock is catchy.The place is full of joy.It entices everyone.Suchindram Temple and the Goddess temple are really great.

One cant afford to miss this place

Tiruchendhur After finishing the schedule in Kanya kumari,we departed to Tiruchendhur.It is 100 km from there.There is a Muruga temple here.The Temple is one the biggest temples of the State.It is situated near the sea.They call it as a sea Shore temple.I really liked the temple.Huge Carvings and1 giant Gopuram.An excellent place but vey sultry.

We came back to Madurai and we then moved to the final frontier of the trip,the backwaters of Kerala.

Kollam and Alleppey It is the otherside of Kerala and infact the spice of Kerala.We went to Quillon and backwaters starts from there.We picked a Cruise from there and we had a 7 hr trip in the backwaters to a place called Alleppey.An eventful journey with the Cruise flocked with Foreigners.Infact we were the only 3 Indians in the upper deck of the Cruise
We all had a nice chat in that extraordinary ambience and the backwaters r enjoyable.One must not miss this place.

We catched a bus to Kottayam from Alleppey.We went to Kumli from Kottayam and from there we went to Thekkady.

Thekkady : Thekkady has the biggest and the deadliest Wildlife Sanctuary of the Country.It also has one of the most beautiful lakes of the Country called the Periyar lake.We travelled inside the Lake with the the help of a Cruise,involved 2 hr trip.We spotted various animals such as Elephants,Stags,Bison,Forest pigs,Deers,various kinds of birds and water animals.The lake was amazing.We even had a trekking trip into the jungle for about 2 hr 15 min.It was a thrilling experience.We spotted some animals. Thekkady is a very very good place.Full of animals.

Trichy and SriRangam : We returned to Madurai and left to Trichy next day.Trichy has two big temples One at Srirangam and one at Rockfort,Trichy.Srirangam temple has the the World’s tallest Gopuram.The temple is very big and a great one.The Rockfort temple is also a good one.

There ended our trip and it was overwhelming and a memorable one.Hope,u will also visit these places if u find time.

This time,I have to speak about my travel to Mysore and Coorg in Karnataka.It was quite a fabulous trip.We all hired a Sumo and started on saturday morning to cover all the destinations.

Route : Bangalore - Mysore - Bylaguppa - Madikeri - Bangalore

Duration : 2 days

Mysore : Reached SriRangapatna first(25 km befor Mysore) and covered Tippu Sultan Palace.The palace is ok.Full of Tipu's repertoire.The Palace is big.After that,We departed to Mysore Palace,the palace is spectacular.The innerspace is awesome.A must see for everyone.We decided,we had enough of Mysore and started to Coorg. Coorg is a district situated 260 km from Bangalore.Kushal Nagar,Madikeri and TalaCauvery are its important places.

Bylakuppa : We reached Kushal Nagar and from there we went to a place called Bylakuppa.Bylakuppa is full of immigrants from Tibet because they have one f the biggest Buddhist Monastery n the World.The place is ace.Exceptional place.It gives u a different feeling.A gr8 place.Had lot of fun with the Buddhist Monks.Trip of Coorg without Bylaguppa is futile.

Madikeri (Coorg) :From there,We moved to Madikeri,the heart of Coorg.Stayed in Madikeri that nite and started exploring Madikeri from the morning.Reached a beautiful cataract called Abbi Falls.It is a jubiliant one.I loved it.The route passes through coffee plantations and u hear the gusty sounds f water.There will be water in any season.And a beautiful one.The best place f Madikeri. Coorg is the place of pleasure on hills in karnataka

From there,We started to TalaCauvery(The birth palce f Cauvery).We reached Bhagamandala which comes 7 km before TalaCauvery.Bhagamandala is 34 km from Madikeri,holds a Keralayian style temple.The temple is gud.Spent some time there and departed to TalaCauvery.Talacauvery is situated about 3700Ft MSL.The route is scenic, full of hills.But the road is pathetic.Spent some time there and reached back to Madikeri.Had lunch there and started back to Bangalore.And in the return we had halted at Kushal Nagar and covered Cauvery Nisargadama,A artificial jungle created by Karnataka Tourism.It is k.
All went well and reached Bangalore on sunday nite and concluded yet another weekend getaway.

My trip to North Karnataka

This particular trip restarts my campaign after a long hiatus.And also,I went back to the history.A wholesome experience.Its been a pleasant trip to Hampi,Badami,Pattadakal and Aihole in the North Karnataka.Infact,These places r around 400 km form Bangalore.The climate was very friendly.We were 3 in total, explored the history belonging to 7th Century AD.

Route : Bangalore - Hospet - Hampi - Badami - Pattadakal - Aihole - Badami - Bangalore

Duration : 2 Days

Hampi : Reached Hospet on saturday morning and from there hired an auto and started to Hampi(12 km from Hospet).Hampi got historical excellence since it belongs to the days of Sri Krishna Devaraya.There r over 25 places to see in Hampi.We have covered all.But the Ultimate ones that stand out are Musical Temple,Elephant Stables,Virupaksha Temple.The images of Ganesha,Shiva and Ugra Narsimha andPushkarini are also gud ones.The boat journey form Monolithic Bull to Vithatla Temple Complex is worthy.The most impressive things about Hampi is the spectacular monuments,Watch towers and Palaces.The whole place makes you feel like that u are in the Krishna Devaraya period.All,in all,a place worth visiting.

We stayed that nite at a place called Illakal where we had terrible dinner of our lives.Then started to Badami,the next day.

Badami : We reached Badami at 9 AM sunday.Badami is famous for caves infact the second best caves n the Country.These are supposed to be the oldest of all.It is also famous for film shootings.Mani Rathnam shooted his new film Guru starring Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek in this place.One must climb the hill to cover these four caves one after another.Once u reach the top,it offers the splendid view of the beautiful lake situated near the caves.

The first cave holds Lord Shiva,Vishnu in the second,Hanuman in the third and a Jain God n the fourth.A different feel altogether.Badami belongs to Chalukyan Dynasty and there are few beautiful temples built by the Chalukyan Emperors.

Pattadakkal : Then,we headed to Pattadakal(23 km from Badami).Pattadakal is a fabulous place.It is the centre for majestic temples.10 temples infact 9 temples are situated at the same place.A Temple complex and all are dated to 7th Century AD.Huge structures and the spectaclur carvings brought grandeur to the whole place.Malaprabha River forms the backdrop for all these Temples.A place rich in beauty and brilliance of the artistic work of the 7th century rulers.Infact Vikramadithya II won the war against the Pallavas of Kanchipuram and in order

to celebrate the victory they built the replicas of Kanchipuram temples.What stands out is the exceptional brillance of those days builders.A very gud place.

Aihole :Then,we headed to Aihole,the capital city of Chalukyan Rulers in those days.Aihole got over 100 temples and all are in large groups.Temples are great.Durga temple and Jain Meguti Temple are real standout ones.

Thats all I can say,It is really worth watching these places.I never shown interest in History in my school days but these places made me mad about history.

General Information :

Food and Accomodation options are not worthy in these areas.So,one will face problems pertaining to that.Badami offers good accomodation.So.It is preferrable to stay there overnight there if not stay in Illakal.One can go by Autos or private vehicles to visit Pattadakal and Aihole from Badami.Theer are buses from Bangalore to Badami.

Bandipur(Wildlife),Ooty and Coonoor hill Stations

This was first trip for me from Bangalore.A trip with my company people. We went to Bandipura Wildlife Sanctuary(Karnataka),Muddamalai Wildlife Sanctuary(TN) and hill stations Ooty(TN) and Coonoor(TN).

Route : Bangalore - Bandipur - Muddumalai - Ooty- Conoor - Bangalore

Duration : 2 days

We started from Bangalore at evening 5 PM and reached Mysore in the nite.

Bandipur and Muddumalai: From there we were off to Bandipura Wildlife Sanctuary which is across Karnataka Border.We reached the Bandipura Check Post at 12 AM.We spotted lot of deers which ambled parallelly through our way.They were shining bright in the dark.Cold was on its peak.It was a fabulous experience to stay in the Jungle and spending time in the night with the animals like deers, Boars etc.At 12:30 AM,we though of starting to Muddamalai WildLife Sanctuary.And the route from Bandipura to Muddmalai was incredible infact full of Elephants.

The local Police at the security post warned us from entering the Muddumalai in the night.But we were not scared and took risk to cover the 12Km route atht leads to Muddumalai.Our eyes were gloomed and all waited eagerly for elephants.It was a safe ride but enthralling one.We explored that route in the nite at 12:50AM.Infact travelling n that route at that time is unsafe bcoz Rogue Elephants troubled ppl travellin that route.That happens So often.We took risk and that risk given us the oppurtunity to spot Elephants,Wild deers etc.We reached to the Muddamalai Wildlife Sanctuary safely at 1:45AM.We stayed in a guest house inside the Jungle.Staying n the jungle whole nite was a million dollar experience. We explored the Wildlife Sanctuary in the morning and we had spotted Wild Elephants,Wild Boars,Deers, Peacocks Etc.So,That was both Bandipura as well as Muddamalai Wildlife Sanctuaries.

Ooty : From there we went to Ooty via Gudaloor.The route was scenic with tea plantations with steep valleys and various kinds of trees and plantations.We covered Pykara Waterfalls,an exceptional one and also went to a Boating place in the route to Ooty.We reached Ooty in the afternoon and we were off to Dodda Betta Peak(2nd highest peak n South India after Anaemudi n Munnar).It was good.But too much fog spoiled the view.

Coonoor : We travelled to Coonoor and reached that place on Saturday nite.Coonoor was raining heavily.I lost hope of sighting any places the next day.We stayed there and on sunday morning,we explored Coonoor.Luckily,Sun God given us a breather.Coonoor is heaven on Earth.It is an ace place.Coonoor is the biggest Tea exporter of all the 3 Niligiri Hill Stations(Ooty,Coonoor and Kotagiri) Coonoor has everythin to offer.One must see this place Lustrous green tea plantations,Steep valleys ,Spectacular view points,Water falls etc.Dolphin's nose is a must see.Tea Gardens n Coonoor r innummerable and it is the most beautiful place f Niligiris.One must notice atht Coonoor is a better place than Ooty.

If you vist Ooty,Coonnor is must. We then catched a Train from Coonoor to Ooty.The
train journey is for 1 hr covers 12 km and it offers exceptional viewpoints.A worthy one and Must explore. We reached Ooty n the Afternoon and from there,we started back to Blore.In return,we again covered MuddaMalai and Bandipura Wildlife Sanctuaries.And
infact,we had spent sometime n the Bandipura in the evening with Elephants,deers,Peacocks etc.We had also covered Mysore Palace and reached Bangalore in the nite at 12:00.
There concludes an eventful trip along with my Company ppl.We were 6 travelled n a Qualis and altogether covered around 780 Km.

General Information:

Our main purpose of this trip was to cover Wildlife and Coonoor and hence we did not concentrated much on Ooty.Coonoor got good accomodation facilities.

My Trip to Coastal Karnataka

Well,this is the trip which I have to admit,covered the maximum number of places in a span of 2 days.3 nights and 2 days.Travelled the Coastal or Dakshin Karnataka.

Route : Bangalore-Jog Falls-Gokarna-Udupi-Malpe-Mangalore-Ullal.

Duration : 2 days

Jog Falls : Started from Bangalore on friday nite and reached Shimoga.Shimoga is the district which has the biggest water falls in Asia ie.,Jog Falls.But not that enticing.Because,it was not the appropriate time to visit that place.Infact the best season is from July-January.One need to get down 1100 steps to take bath in the falls.Jog Falls is a pretty developed place but the food is very poor.We had spent little time and made an early exit from there.

Gokarna : Then reached Gokarna,which is 100 km from Goa.Gokarna means Cow's Ear.The Mahabaleswara Temple,in which Atma Linga is present in the ear hole of a Cow's ear shaped vessel.Very rare monument.A small Linga is present in that hole(Cow's Ear) and people pour milk and water into that hole and perform poojas.Gokarna is one f the most sacred places for Hindus.Infact,it is the land of Sanskrit Scholars,The whole town contains peculiar kind of houses.The ambience is splendid.And also,u will spot kids and elders going for Sanskrit

Upanishad Classes(Not for IT classes).I had visited some ashrams.Adding to that,Gokarna constitutes 5 beaches.3 r very important.Starting with,Gokarna beach is the most crowded one,present inside the town.And,from there, we need to climb a hill, up and down takes you to another beach called Kudle beach.It is a serene and lovely beach.You will forget everything when you spend time at this beach.Spectacular one.people from various countries spend time here by playing different kinds of instruments such as flute,drums etc.We had the best time pass at this beach.Then ambled for another 30 min from there and reached OM beach.In this beach, the landscapes on the verge f the sea takes the shape of Om.This is one f the best beaches, I have seen till date.Sunset is worth.It is all trekking in Gokarna.Gokarna entices a lot of Foreigners.

They are not implementing the Westen Culture indeed have taken the Hinduism and performing all the poojas.The beaches r quite in comparable with Goa.May be,this place is very near to Goa so people will think of ignoring this one but that will be a big mistake.Temples,Tradition,Masti makes Gokarna.A must visit place.

Udipi and Malpe and Suratkal beach: We reached Udupi that nite and halted there.Udupi is 3 hrs drive from Gokarna. Had Lord Krishna darshan.Cute Krishna.Infact,Krishna in a new avatar.Gud temple.Malpe Beach is just 7 km drive from Udupi and reached there.Malpe is an ordinary kind of beach but few islands r present near the beach.It is okie kind f beach.But people who visit Udupi include Malpe in their itinerary.Then headed to Suratkal beach,20 km from Malpe.It is a gud beach with scenic beauty.Quite an isolated one.The water makes gusty sounds.Worthy one.

Mangalore : Then reached Mangalore which is 20 km from Suratkal.Mangalore is a big,Well developed city.The city is beautiful with coconut trees and few beaches.Mangalore is quite similar to Bangalore.The malls,Buildings,Little IT,Multiplex(Getting ready).Two problems r ubiquitous such as the smell f fish and too much sultry.Went to Ullal beah,which is 12 km drive from the city center.It is a gud one,an ideal getaway for Mangaloreans.Had fun there and went to 10th Century A.D. Kadri Manjunatha Temple.It is a great temple.Due to time constraint,did nt spent much time in Mangalore.Infact the only reason why we included Mangalore is to get a direct bus to Bangalore.But Mangalore proved to be a lovely place.

Well,after having enough masti,started from Mangalore by our own KSRTC's RajaHamsa.
Thats my total trip.Infact, we had covered lot f places travelled towards the coastal line.Arabian Sea everywhere.Infact,i read little about these places befor going there.But really had loads and loads of fun.A rejoicing trip.It is a pleasure drive towards the borders of the Arabian sea.

General Information :

Jog Falls is worth visiting only in rainy season ie., August to December.The transport service is good in Coastal karnataka.

My Trip to SravanaBelagola,Halebid,Belur and Kemmanagundi

This was my second trip from Bangalore.Trip to Sravanbelagola,Halebid,Belur and KemmanaGundi.All the places were very nice.

Route : Bangalore - Sravanbelagola - Halebid - Belur - ChickMangalur - Kemmangundi - Bangalore

Duration : 2 days

Started at 7 Am on saturday.We didnt got with any Private Vehicle so relied completely on KSRTC.

SravanBelagola : Reached Chennayarapatna at 10:30AM,SBelagola is 15KM from that place.We dont have direct buses to SBelagola from Blore.Reached Sbelagola at 11:15Am.The place that holds the World's tallest Monolithic statue.Lord Gomateshwara statue is situated on the hilltop.One has to climb 750 steps to reach there.U will find a small temple along with this Statue there.A very nice place.SravanaBelagola is a spritual place.Infact evry 12

years Mahamasthakabhisheka(abhishekham and poojas) will be performed for the Gommateshwara Statue.A place to explore for sure if you travel Karnataka.

From there,travelled to Hassan and reached Halebid.

Halebid : Halebid is 12 km from Hassan.KSRTC provides frequent buses to t

his place.Halebid is having a beautiful temple built by the Hoysala Empire.It was

one f the best built temples f Karnataka.The architecture is fabulous.Lord Shiva is present inside the Temple.The carvings on the Temple are majestic.

Belur : Then travelled to Belur and reached there at 4:15PM,Belur also has a similar

kind of temple called Chennakeasava temple built by the Hoysala Empire.It was also a beautiful temple.It has the look f Tamil Nadu architecture as a tall Gopuram is present.That completed the trip to Belur,Halebid and SravanaBelagola.

I reached Chickmagalur at 6PM.ChickMagalur is the headquarters of Chickmagalur district which is a hub for various Tourist destinations f Karnataka.Considered as one f the best Districts when it comes to beauty.So,Stayed in a Hotel that nite.The next morning,we travelled to KemmanaGundi.

KemmanaGundi : A hill station 50 km from CMagalur.Reached KGudi at 10:30Am.We covered Kalhatti Waterfalls which comes 10 km before K Gudi.It was a gud

waterfalls,Lord Shiva temple is present near that Waterfalls.The route passes thru Coffee plantations and hills.KGudi is the 2nd best hill station n Karnataka.If one loves adventure,then they will definetly like this place.RajBhavan,Shanti Falls,Hebbe Dalls,Z Point r the important places n this place.Speakin abt Z Point,it is the view point.Fot that u have to walk for some distance thru hills.The entire route offer some spectacular views.And also one must be careful,Bcoz lapse f error could be critical.The route passes thru 3 hills and the total route gives u breathtaking views.We even had Mountain Climbing and that was rocking.It was just watching a 3D IMAX film.Walking thru the hills is quite an exceptional feeling.

U must have a Private Vehicle in order to access this place.KSRTC dont run buses in this route.KGudi is above 4700 ft above sea level and is nested on Gigantic hills.There is only one hotel and one lodge in this place.The place is quite different to Ooty,Coonoor,Munnar etc but worth watching.Bcoz,u can trek and climb on the Mountains. Well,thats what I call an extraordinary weekend getaway.

General Information:

KSRTC dont provide direct buses to Kemmanagundi.So,one must have split journey by Private Buses.It is appropriate to explore this place by a Private Vehicle.

SBelagola is fine place but oine need to climb lot of steps to make it to the Gomateeswara statue.That is quite challenging.

Sabarimala,Palaruvi and Courthallam

This was the trip which I have to admit is the most toughest one.Infact we are unable to plan the things since Sabarimala is involved,we were not sure about the timings.I must thank my friend Anil,infact it was his decision to travel to Sabarimala and I added Courthallam and Palaruvi in that list.

Speaking about my entire journey............... I have travelled through 3 states in this trip.

Route : Bangalore-Kottayam-Pamba-Sabarimala-Palaruvi-Courthallam-Tirunelveli- Bangalore.

Duration : 2 days

Started on friday evening and reached Kottayam at 10 AM.Then finished formal things and started to Pamba(By bus).

Sabarimala : The route was great.Scenic with rubber plantations.Reached Pamba at 3 PM.Then,We ambled from Pamba to Sabarimala(5 Km).We had completed all the proceedings by 8PM and then reached Pamba bus stand at 8 PM.Little tired but it was an awesome experience.Especially, I managed to

see Lord Ayyappa (in Civil Dress). I dont want to give much details about Sabarimala.But I was delighted to have the blessings of Lord Ayyappa. Then faced problem of not finding the bus to the next location.In Kerala,the state bus frequency gets reduced once it passes past 7:30 PM.That made us to make a temporary stop at that district head quarters Pathanamatitta.Stayed there that night and then started to Palaruvi n the morning.

Palaruvi : A Waterfall in the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border.I must tell u,it is the best waterfall,i ve seen till now.The water flows from 300 feet.And it gives the feeling that milk is falling from 300 feet.The flow is like milk.Thatswhy,ppl call this waterfalls as Paalaruvi.And even the route that leads to Palaruvi is spectacular.U ve to pass thru small forest for abt 5 km.Palaruvi is situated in Kerala, 2 km from Tamilnadu border.The ambience around Palaruvi is just great.A perfect waterfalls,u will ask for.A must see.

Courthallam : From there,reached Courthallam(Kutrallam).Courthallam comes in Tamil Nadu,5 km from Palaruvi.The nearest town is Tenkasi.Kutralam or Courthallam is a place called the "Spa f South".U will find 7 kinds f waterfalls n Courthallam and all these falls r bound to possess herbal material since they pass thru herbal leaves.So,Bathing in the Courthallam falls gives u a pleasant feeling.I covered 3 falls called Peraruvi,which is one f the biggest falls in our Country and the most popular one n Kutralam.Chitraruvi and another falls by name Five falls.Two f those 7 falls dont have the transport and are difficult to visit.And,we ignored the other two due to time constraint. All in all,It was a good one.

Imagine,we covered 3 states in 2 days.Started from Karnataka reached Kearala and ended with Tamil Nadu and returned back to Karnataka.And all this took place in 2 days.

General Information :

Sabarimala temple will not be open through out the year.To visit Palaruvi and Courthallam,one can stay in the matams of Courthallam or prefer staying in Tirunelvelli which offers good accomodation.Palaruvi is around 5 km from the main road to Tenkasi from Pathanamithata.And one need to go by private vehicle to cover those 5 km to Palaruvi water fall.

Note : We did nt have much time and thatswhy we covered all these places in quick time but Its gives you real thunder feeling by spending time with your mate in Palaruvi.

I had visited 3 best temples in Karnataka.In fact 3 most prominent temples of the State Karnataka.In fact this was my only trip which included only temples.I normally have a habit of including all in one trip such as Wild Life Sanctuary+Beach+Temple+Hill station.But this is

a special one.Reserved for devotion.

Route : Bangalore-Kukke Subrahmanya-Dharamsthala -Sringeri-Bangalore

Duration : 1 or 2 days

I started from Bangalore at 10 pm in our own RajaHamsa(KSRTC) bus.

Kukke Subramanya : Reached Kukke Subrahmanya at 6 AM.The climate was fabulous and njoyed a lot n that chilling weather.Kukke Subrahmanya is famous for Lord Subrahmanya,who rests on two snakes.The temple is situated in the forests and the drive was good.I liked that place very well.The temple is very special and I must say,this is a place,I will remember for long time.Here the devotees perform different kinds of poojas and the whole temple is a treat to eyes.In fact I must admit, I took bath with cold water in that chilling weather and had darshan at 7 AM. Something unusual for a guy like me.

Kukke Subrahmanya Temple

Dharmasthala : Then headed to Dharmasthala,2 hrs drive from Kukke Subrahmanya.The route was fabulous, passed thru Hills with water canals.Dharmasthala is termed as "Tirupathi of Karnataka".Lord Manjunatha Temple is present in this place.The Temple is a big one and attracts lot of devotees every year.Here,u find Gold Shiva and Lady Goddess is also present inside the temple.This temple attracts lot of Kannadigas and as new couples of Andhra Pradesh visit Tirupathi,Kannada Couples visit Dharmasthala and seek his blessings.Ornate Elephants welcome you.

Rain was ubiquitous.In fact that whole week was raining in Karnataka.

Sringeri : Then headed to Sringeri.The route was ace, passes thru Coffee plantations,Little bit tea plantations as well.Fog blocked the roads and it was splendid.Coffee everywhere and one will think that Karnataka must be the biggest Coffee provider.Nama Coffee.There is no direct bus from Dharamasthala to Sringeri,infact it was a mistake by KSRTC,not to arrange buses between these two places.That made us to change 3 buses(Private ones) to reach Sringeri.But the route was ecstatic.In fact,one enjoys a lot if they travel by a Private Vehicle. Reached Sringeri at 5 PM.Sringeri stages 9th century Krishna Devaraya Temple(Shiva Temple),Sharadha Mutt and the most important Durga Temple.It was an excellent place with serene beauty.If one wants peace,this is the one place.Sharadha Mutt is big and they made this place even more beautiful with Meditation halls etc.Sitting inside Meditation hall is very difficult.But on looking at the other people,situation forces us to remain placid. Sringeri temple is an example of artistic brilliance.All in all,a great place with grandeur beauty.
Finished the whole stuff at Sringeri by 9 PM and started back to Bangalore by the Same Raja Hamsa bus.

Summary : I must admit,while starting from Bangalore,it was a 2day trip we planned for.But we have done it in a single day.We really faced lot of problem with food and transport.
Of course managing Kannada was also a bit difficult but somehow covered those 3 temples with pleasant mind.This trip was really special one for me.
If u visit Karnataka.This one is a must. Allow 2 days for this trip such that it will be pleasant for you with overnight accomodation in Dharmasthala or in Sringeri.

Kukke Subramanya to Dharmasthala ---- 70 Km
Dharmasthala to Sringeri --- 60 km (But no direct bus from KSRTC)
Karkala and Moodabri are also in between these places but cant be accessible by
KSRTC buses.

Type of Trip : Pilgrimage and nature surprise

Best time to Visit : All through out the year but the places looks exceptionally beautiful from September till February.
