New British super car presentation was held at the exclusive car show Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Italy. The concept car exterior design was already seen in pictures, but now it was possible to see the car interior.

There will be made only 77 Aston Martin One-77, and each car will cost at least 1,8 million dollars. Very soon they will make the first custom-made copy. All the small series production will be completed by the end of the next year. Moreover, as Aston Martin representatives have pointed out, each car will be made in close conjunction with its next owner, and the manufacturer will use its best efforts to be sure that none of 77 unique cars is coming into the so-called profiteers hands.

Like F1 racing car, the One-77 design is based on the ultra-light and highly resistant carbon fiber moncok (continuous body structure). At moncok there has been attached the four wheel double lever suspension and it is almost the same as it is on F1 racing car, where the vertical suspension is converted into horizontal. It is also the first time when a street car has received DSSV technology, which allows to adjust damping characteristics very precise whit out removing the suspension elements off the car.

The One-77 engine is also unique. Although it on Aston Martin popular 6.0-liter V12 engine's base, its capacity has increased to 7.3 liters, meanwhile the engine weight has been reduced by 25%. In the result the engine has more than 700 horse power. The car also has specially developed six-speed automatic gearbox.

Aston Martin One-77's maximum speed exceeds 200 miles per hour, while acceleration from 0-60 miles per hour will take around 3.5 seconds. For stopping the car it has carbon-ceramic composite brakes to minimize the brake fluid heat system.

Hennessey Launches Performance Venom GT

Super tuner Hennessey has put out some radical Corvettes as the years have gone by and now the company has released its version of the true Super Car and has dubbed it the Hennessey Performance Venom GT. Part Lotus and Part Corvette, this vehicle has been all the rage on the chat boards and much speculation had gone into the inner workings of the car.

Now the answers that everyone was seeking are abundantly clear and the Hennessy Performance Venom GT is certainly blowing away expectations to say the very least. To call it a 'performance' car is a true understatement of the word itself as the car represents the best of the best as far as components goes.

The Hennessey Performance Venom GT tips the scales at a very scant 2,400 pounds and at just over a ton, this super car has a ton of power. Under the hood of the Venom GT lives a Corvette ZR1 LS9 V-8 engine that is complimented with dual turbos. The 6.3 liter engine is capable of putting out 725 horsepower and about 741 foot pounds of torque. The end result is a car that can cruise from 0 to 60 miles per hour in around 2.4 seconds and will do top speeds approaching the 265 mile per hour mark.

Carrying the massive engine and the rest of the light weight Venom GT is a Lotus Elise chassis. This lightweight yet extremely strong chassis is considered by many in the auto world the cream of the crop.

The transmission is a Ricardo six speed manual that is also top of the line. The Hennessey Performance Venom GT will also feature the programmable traction control system similar to the one used in the Corvette ZR1.

The car will make its official public debut this year at the Goodwill Festival of Speed and Hennessy only plans on making ten models per year. The Venom GT has already been planned to land in Russia, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. No plans are set as of yet for a landing date in the United States.

These wheels will cost around $600,000.00 and if you think that is too much money, consider that Hennessey has already pre-sold four units. Just as with any other super car, as there are many people with tons of money and a love for speed, there will be a market for the super car.

For the lucky few that do get to own one of these works of art they may also want to consider the next level of Venom GT already in the works. According to Hennessey, the newer versions will have 1000 to 1200 horsepower and will obviously blow the doors off of the first generation.

For now though anyone with the money and the speed fever can obtain one of these beauties. As nice as it is to simply see the Hennesse Perfomance Venom GT in pictures or in person, the ultimate in joy will go to those who actually get to drive one.

2009 Aston Martin DBS

Don't the cool guys seem to always pick some of the fastest and sleekest designed cars? Well, then it should be no surprise that James Bond will be sporting a serious and speedy vehicle, namely the 2009 Aston Martin DBS in the upcoming film "Quantum of Solace". The V12 exotic sports car has a 6.0 liter engine with an exquisite interior hand finished that is attractive to common and rich folk alike. The aerodynamic design makes it even better suited for espionage.

The Aston Martin DBS zooms from zero to sixty in just 4.2 seconds. Underneath the hood, it puts out up to 510 hp. At only 3737 pounds of weight this exotic feline will hit the roads a blazing and top out at 191 mph according to reliable testing sources.

The 2009 DBS provides an optional six-speed automatic transaxle, 2+2 seats, 20-inch wheels and an audio by Bang & Olufsen. The design and layout is the same as the DB9 with a bit more sleekness. The body is made of aluminum and carbon fiber. One of the new colors for this model is aptly named Quantum Silver

For 2009, the Aston Martin DBS comes equipped with new vented carbon ceramic brake discs which are a first for an off-track Aston Martin. These are custom designed to align with the double wishbone alloy suspension that features damper control which utilizes two separate valves to set the damper for five different positions. This feature is an important trait if you want to possess instant adjustment of the car's handling characteristics and out maneuver the thumbs up road warriors trying to beat you to the club or international airport.

Gentlemen, if you are considering getting one, not as a spy, what could possibly stop you when you can rent one first to get a feel of the superior handling and awesome design before using a fraction of available funds to acquire it for a cool $265,000.

009 Bentley Brooklands

At first glance, you will find it difficult to tell how big the Bentley Brooklands car model really is. It seems to be like a battleship steaming over the horizon and just keeps on becoming bigger and bigger the closer you get. More than likely you will be shocked when you find out and see that it is rolling on 20-inch wheels. Yes! You've heard it right.

The 2009 Bentley Brooklands is a new stunning amazing fresh model that marks the company's return to the luxury coupe market and reconfirms its name as the maker of the world's most exclusive coupe. It is the ultimate Bentley automobile as a stylish four-seater,with grand impressive touring coupe with classic British dimensions and brawny performance.

Its four-seat architecture as well as its deeply bolstered seats give the Brooklands' interior a distinctly sporty yet elegant look. The design accents including aluminum pedals and footrest complement its light but enchanting atmosphere. In this new 2009 model, you will also see a new single-piece, hide-trimmed roof lining that flows from the front widescreen all the way to the back of the car. This roof lining gives a mirror effect of the long and sleek profile of the elegant exterior. On the other hand, its interior design offers the very highest levels of comfort and legroom. Without a doubt, this grand touring classic of Bentley with pillarless window design improves the feeling of space.

Indeed, it is a coupe of gigantic proportions. It is built with a 213-inch two-door style that is almost as long as a Lincoln Town Car and at 5853 pounds that is about as much as a Chevy Suburban. Amazingly, it has an engine that could power even the Titanic. It is precisely crafted by the phenomenal performance engineering of Bentley's 2009's prominent Crewe-construct V-8 engine. This engine is developed with 530 horsepower and has a twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter unit that produces 774 lb-ft of torque at 3250 rpm. It is the world's torquiest automotive engine as well as the most powerful V-8 ever from Crewe.

Every Brookland's coupe will be hand-made, accentuated with classic coach building techniques and the skillfulness abilities in leather hide and wood veneer for which Bentley is renowned. And the production line will be harshly limited to just 550 automobile cars to ensure it is a collectors item. Deliveries of these new models are expected to launch in the first half of 2008.

Bentley claims the Brooklands zooms to be as much as 60 miles per hour in 5 seconds. It also claims that it can hit a 100-miles per hour mark in just 6.7 seconds after it hits 60 miles per hour.
As with the latest Arnest sedan and Azure convertible, it has built on the powertrain improvements such as a six speed transmission with strengthened casing that changes the way in which both parts of the drive train communicate. Other enhancements are re-profiled camshafts, low-inertia turbochargers, a sport exhaust, and a sophisticated, locking torque converter as well as ESP system.

Pagani Zonda R

Through the suggestions of passionate track focused Zonda enthusiasts, Pagani has designed the Pagani Zonda R with customized engineering solutions to meet the high performance requirements of a track day vehicle. A carbon-titanium composite central monocoque, enhanced rigidity while significantly lowering weight.

The Zonda R comes with a Mercedes-Benz AMG 6.0-liter racing V12 bolted straight to the chassis and generating 750 hp and 710 Nm of torque. Instantaneous throttle response is achieved through a direct throttle actuation utilizing a mechanical cable. Through a steering wheel-mounted shift paddle, the driver is able to shift gears at speeds of 20 milliseconds made possible through a dog ring gearbox incased in Xtrac Magnesium and paired with the Automac AMT system. The driver can also totally adapt the settings of the Zonda R while driving through a 12-way Bosch Motorsport traction control and ABS system.

The Zonda R's suspension and wing arrangements are fully adjustable providing individual drivers a setup appropriate for individual taste. There is also a fresh hood that supplements rear end performance, the design of which was derived from Ennegi models, together with a closed underside and rear aid diffuser. The adaptable aero configuration can be set to a maximum downforce of 1.500kg and to a ceiling speed of 350kmh Weight reduction measures include Aspa forged AvionAl suspension components plus machined structural ErgAl parts to hold the engine and gearbox, and with the entire car screwed on by PoggipoliniTitanium screws. The result is a 1.070kg dry weight for the Zonda R.

On the inside the cabin design had the driver in mind where the controls are restricted only to the essential while the finish mirrors Pagani's high-quality standards. The interior comes with customized Toora sports seats which are FIA approved and meet the current HANS standards, five-point safety harness and a roll-cage from CrMo.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder

When Lamborghini's next-gen Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder convertible burst onto the scenes earlier this year, the sporty two seat exotic impressed all who witnessed: it had a better albeit part-exterior from the million-dollar Lamborghini Reventon, output an additional 40 hp, and is lighter. Yes, it is a major challenger in the world of super cars.

So dropping the top on the latest Gallardo is the order of the day in the growth of the LP 560-4. With a tad-bit higher shoulders in order to support the soft drop top, the Spyder's fabric roof (which comes ion black, blue, gray or beige) is controlled by dual console-mounted switches. The car's sleek lines are well-designed while the top is on, and if you want it down, it is just a mere 20 seconds to feel the rays from the sun. Obviously, the major excitement is the exquisite growl of the 5.2 liter V10. The process of putting the top-down means the necessary rear windscreen will open. As you are motoring in the wind, the rear windscreen can be lowered or raised to be used as a wind deflector.

The ground-up modifications which support the soft top include a recalibrated spring and shock rates for more stiffness, and the inclusion of new rubber-metal bearings. The rear axle has a track rod, and Lamborghini states that the Spyder has the exact handling traits as the closed coupe version (although it's 44 pounds less than the ragtop). The aerodynamic underbody helps in structural rigidity, and the aluminum space-frame chassis has also been reinforced. The Gallardo spyder convertible gallops Zero to 60 mph in 4 seconds flat, a few tenths lighter than the coupe, and the top speed is 201 mph. The hardtop version came in at 202 mph.

The standard speed-demon features on Lambo's such as carbon fiber ceramic brakes are available on the ragtop version, but speed thirsty motorists should be comfortable by the fact that the Spyder has two spring-loaded rollover bars in the rear of the seats.

MazdaSpeed 3 - Insane Performance For the Buck

There are cars with lots of hype on the market and then there are cars that are subtle monsters. The MazdaSpeed 3 is a huge monster with a pedestrian price that makes it an absolute steal in these tough economic times.

Okay, let's get something out of the way. The name of the car is the "MazdaSpeed 3", not "Mazda Speed 3". I have no idea why. Perhaps someone missed the space key when titling the project. It doesn't really matter, but people bring the subject up over and over.

If you could describe the perfect car these days, what would it be? You would want some serious performance, but you would want to avoid tickets. You would want something you could haul people and stuff around in, but have a blast while doing it. The MazdaSpeed 3 is all this and more.

The MazdaSpeed 3 looks extremely close to the basic Mazda 3. It is a hatchback without much refinement. You find some minor body work, a slightly lowered profile and larger 18 inch rims. The inside of the car is extremely basic in my opinion. In short, this is a car that really is not going to attract any attention except from those who see the name on the car.

This anonymity is a good thing, particularly as far as your friendly police officers are involved. Why? The MazdaSpeed 3 is basically an engine with seats. What the designers did not spend on the exterior and interior, they put into the performance. The Godzilla design has a 2.3 liter four cylinder engine with a direct-injection turbo. It produces a whopping 263 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and a ton of torque.

Driving around in the car if a fairly hilarious prospect. You can pull up too much more exotic and expensive cars at a light and then just crush them off the line. The only time you'll get any looks is when some kids who know about the car pull up next to you. It is somewhat like driving around in an old station wagon with a Ferrari engine in it. Don't get me wrong. The car doesn't look bad. The looks just don't match the performance at all.

Watching every dollar you spend is pretty much the key to life these days. The MazdaSpeed 3 performs here as well. The cost is a paltry and stunning $21,000 to $22,000 for a car that will crush most cars priced twice as much. Even better, you can write off the sales tax you pay on the purchase thanks to President Obama's stimulus bill.

In these dire times, that is a deal you are going to have a hard time beating.

Dirk Gibson writes articles about cars, auto parts and accessories for DCJAutoParts.com - your online resource for parts.

Lamborghini Murcielago 2007 Review

A century-old tradition in bullfighting is to spare the life of a bull which shows outstanding courage in the arena. Such a bull was Murcielago, The Bat, spared by a famous matador after a breathtaking fight in the arena of Cordoba, some 130 years ago.

Much like the bull that gave it its name, the Lamborghini Murcielago belongs to a special breed of cars. With its 6,5 liter V12 engine, 640 BHP, an amazing 665 Nm torque and permanent 4-wheel drive, nothing can stand in it's way. 3,4 seconds is all it needs to get to 100 km/h, and if you keep your foot on the gas pedal, it will not stop until you reach a mind-blowing 340 km/h.

But this power comes at a price. The massive 12-cylinder engine requires an average of 21,3 l/100 km, and the car's fuel tank can carry (only!) 100 liters.

This 2-door, 2 seats coupe with a mid-mounted engine follows the traditional design successfully applied by Lamborghini for more than three decades. The gear box placed in front of the engine, the permanent four-wheel drive, along with the integration into the engine unit of the rear differential, are but a few of the advantages of such a displacement which result in an optimal weight distribution, 58% rear and 42% front, with positive effects on the car's handling, braking and traction.

The security of the car is ensured by the carbon fiber body, with steel doors and roof, and a tubular frame made from high-strength steel alloy with carbon fiber structural parts. The stopping power is ensured by power vacuum, aluminum alloy calipers (8 pistons front calipers and 4-pistons rear calipers), ventilated discs, and optional carbon-ceramic brakes, with 6 pistons break calipers (front-rear).

The interior aims for functionality, and lacks any useless or distracting elements. The optional equipment includes an "Interior Carbon Package", where the cover for the driver side display, dashboard cover, handbrake lever, armrest frame, gear lever cover, the air conditioning and radio covers are made entirely from carbon fibre, offering those really demanding customers an extra air of class.

Unlike the older models, the Murcielago brings a touch of practicality through it's design, which allows for more control over the car; however, the rear visibility remains poor.

Its name refers to a bull and a bat, but the Murcielago encompasses their features and beyond; the interior is reasonably comfortable for an exotic car, capable of going 300+ km/h. Used to its full potential, this car can provide one of the most thrilling sensations a driver will ever experience.

Its unique design ensures that it will stay in vogue for a long time. It is precisely the type of car which will keep Lamborghini among the world's top manufacturers, in showrooms, publications and, best of all, in the hearts of the customers.

New 2007 Lexus LS 460

The new 2007 Lexus LS 460, the largest and most expensive sedan by Lexus is by far the best release so far by the luxury division of Toyota Motor Corporation. This fourth generation of the full-size RWD, which has been, for eighteen years, the flagship of Lexus has a more attractive and even more aggressive stance, thanks to Lexus new design style, L-Finesse.

The state-of-the-art exterior lighting features a Dual-swivel Adaptive Front Lighting System, with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps which are more energy-effective, durable, and brighter than conventional halogen headlamps.

The Intuitive Parking Assist uses sensors to alert drivers when they get too close to other parked cars, and with the help of the Advanced Parking Guidance System, this car will virtually park itself. The electrochromic outside mirrors automatically reduce glare, when the light is too bright. A Smart Access Key activates both the doors and the ignition. The 19-inch wheels ensure an increased accuracy on handling.

The interior offers one of the most luxurious, executive-class seating available on the market: leather-trimmed seats, with a memory system which holds the driver's and the passenger's favorite position, the 8 GB hard-disk on the surround sound audio system, the voice-activated navigation system are but a few of the features which add up to making the Lexus LS 460 2007 one of the most comfortable cars available on the market.

A 4.6 liter engine with 380 hp and 367 lb-ft of torque (an amazing 36 percent more powerful than its predecessor) is actually the world's first V8 engine which combines port and direct fuel injection, powering an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in a staggering 5.4 seconds.

Another novelty is the eight-speed automatic transmission, which, together with the direct injection system and the dual variable valve timing, significantly reduce fuel consumption and emissions, earning this model a well-deserved certification as an Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV II). The Dynamic Radar Cruise Control helps maintain a safe distance from car in front, and the Electronic Controlled Braking (ECB) system is set to increase the level of safety both in critical situations and while parking the car.

Its safety features include sophisticated airbag placement, for optimal protection for all passengers, the ECB, as mentioned above, ABS, both prepared by the Pre-Collision System, an advanced Tire Pressure Monitor System, and three-points seatbelts, ensuring a high level of protection in critical situations.

All features considered, the Lexus LS 460 2007 takes this combination of luxury, manageability and safety to new heights, bringing it ever closer to the much more expensive sedans from Rolls-Royce and Maybach.

Mazda CX-7

We're on the Road in the 2008, Mazda CX-7

The Good: Nice styling, good handling, decent list of standard features, good curbside appeal, very safe.

The Bad: Road noise is somewhat pronounced, rear seats are low.

Overall: The CX-7 is a sharp looking small SUV, sporty styling while offering a well designed, handsome and functional interior.

The CX-7 is Mazda's five passenger crossover sport-utility vehicle, initially introduced for 2007. The powertrain consists of a 2.3 Liter 4 cylinder turbo engine, outputting 244 horsepower and 258 lb foot of torque, coupled to the front wheel drive, six speed automatic transmission with sportshift! Mazda offers the CX-7 in three trim levels: Sport; Touring; and Grand Touring.

The CX-7 is very sporty, from the five-pointed grille and prominent front fender, up to the A pillar slanting at a 66 degree angle, the Mazda holds true to "the soul of a sports car" slogan. The integrated rounded xenon headlights round out the front corner of the vehicle nicely! It's retains the sharp handling and responsiveness of a car, while offering light duty utility as well.

Safety

The CX-7 scored best marks in Government Front, Driver and passenger, side driver/ rear passenger test as well as good marks in government rollover tests. The 5 passenger SUV has many standard safety features, including: ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Brake Assist, as well as Dynamic Stability Control and Traction Control System. Also standard find side impact door beams, Front/Rear crumple zones, an anti-theft immobilizer and TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System), four wheel ventilated disc brakes; Front wheel or Active Torque-Split All-Wheel Drive. The CX-7 has thick D pillars, but the area is very visible using the side mirrors. This Mazda also features a good compliment of six airbags for front and back.

Driving Impressions

The CX-7 is a handles well and although you might expect a v-6 to be necessary for this size vehicle, you'd be surprised how well the 4 cylinder turbo performs. Unlike the turbo of the past there's almost zero lag. The turbo does a great job of compensating for what could otherwise be a lighter duty engine for this rather hefty vehicle. Handling is solid, responsive and tight (without being numb) and thanks to the four wheel independent suspension you'll feel little road, the response is direct. Road noise is a bit more audible than others, but it's not enough to be troublesome. Consumer Reports rated Mazda's CX-7 as less than average for first year reliability, but we did not note any potential issues during our test drive.

The Way You Feel Inside

Jump into the CX-7 without needing a boost, it's not a huge SUV. Mazda's red and blue lighting combine for a pleasing hue across the clean and simple analogue gauge cluster. Interior styling is handsome and build quality is good, inline with the category.

Function meet form, form meet function: nice looking front/side defrost vents are smartly integrated into the dash, which is stacked to include a centered LCD display, for clock and audio info. Discover a large lockable center console, large enough for a music junkie's CD collection, and more space for snacks. Got power? Plug in to either of the 12v power outlets. Drivers will also appreciate lighting accents that make it easy to see the interior while driving at night, thanks to the indirect blue cabin illumination (on the upper trim). Drivers and passengers delight with lumbar adjustment on front seats, that are also heated (love the heated seats, also on upper trim).

The CX-7 has a good long list of standard features, they include: Cruise Control, AM/FM/CD audio with automatic level control (automatically adjusting the volume (smooth and non intrusive) based on noise levels) fold away brake pedal assembly, LATCH rear child safety seat anchors and tethers, A/C, power door locks, plus more. The CX-7 offers fun, a sporty drive and a bit of utility as well, and gives you alot for your money!

Stowage

For a five passenger SUV, you'll likely be taking the weekend road trip and the CX-7 is ready for the road, with decent and versatile stowage space. Fold the rear seats down (although they don't lay entirely flat, check the photo below) and you'll have 58.6 cubic feet. With the rear seats up find 29.9 cubic feet about average for this class vehicle, and decent space for the weekend warrior or occasional camper. Options exist to extend your storage with a roof rack (100lbs max); and the tow package (towing capacity up to 2000 lbs).

By the Numbers

By the new 2008 fuel rating the FWD CX-7 is rated at 17 city / 22 highway, and we averaged 17.8 MPG on premium fuel, combined (city and highway) driving. (AWD model gets 16 / 21MPG)

Mazda CX-7 Sticker Price

FWD Sport Trim starts at $23,750.

FWD Touring Trim starts at $25,500. and

FWD Grand Touring starts at $26,300.

AWD Sport Trim starts at $24,450.

AWD Touring Trim starts at $27,200.

AWD Grand Touring Trim starts at $28,000

The Jaguar XF

The Jaguar XF goes beyond the traditional standards of the classy Jag we are all used to.What we know about this jaguar that's due out in March is that while it uses the old S-Type bases and suspension from the XK coupe, what it looks like is entirely different. It takes on a sportier more than luxurious look although it doesn't give up too much as it still looks like a million dollars. It will definitely be a head turner for a much younger market, but this doesn't mean it will alienate the Jaguar's dedicated market as it still retains the class that Jag is known for; this is especially true if you manage to get one of these car lease specials in a dark color, like black.
What you see outside is definitely not true inside the XF. The exterior is a lot ore buff but inside, you may be surprised with the luxury of space that you will enjoy. The seats are not as bulky as you might expect and this offers an impression of more air and space. However, this is a good thing, especially with all the things that this car packs in. Expect wood and aluminum alloy on the inner sides, a lowered dashboard, a rotary gear selector in the center and a starter button that flashes upon entering the car. As a standard, consumers get cruise control, heated seats and satellite navigation! That leaves room for the imagination as far as add-ons are concerned.

Speaking of room, the Jaguar XF has just enough of it. In fact, a six-foot person sitting in the back will actually have a lot of head room left between his or head and the ceiling. Foot room is quite spacious but the 500-liter trunk space is a lot more generous and the back seats also fold for additional space.

Expect the Jaguar XF to "hit the shelves" on March 1 2008. It will come in two whopping 4.2 liter V8 models, one with a supercharger and one without. There will also be a 3.0 liter V6 for the slightly less adventurous and a 2.7 liter V6 turbo diesel for the gas-consumption conscious. This is the definitely the cat to beat as soon as it hits the market and at over $60,000, this price range is only rivaled by Germany's BMW 550i M Sport. It all depends in what class you choose to belong to when it comes to shopping for the top car leasing specials.

Maserati Quattroporte

Maserati welcomes you to a world of quality automobiles. It's a two-door convertible, which most likely counts as the brash part. It's very Bond. And if it isn't, it should be. This car looks like it should be able to do all sorts of interesting spy-toy type things.

The car is still a bit of a snob, though. Looking at its photograph, you get the feeling that it actually knows it is a Rolls-Royce, because it requires you – or someone – to massage it regularly. In other words, it has a teakwood tonneau cover that requires an oil bath (linseed or Tung oil) to preserve its look at ever service stop.

The Phantom Drophead Coupe is a few inches – 10, to be precise – shorter than earlier Rolls-Royces, but it is still a big car - bigger than a Mercedes, sources say. Those same sources at Edmunds also say that the car handles well on the curvaceous roads of Italy, and that it handles speed really well.

Its 453-horsepower, V12 engine apparently shifts between gears so smoothly that it will be difficult to realize how fast you're traveling. The car really likes to shift up. Apparently, this car loves going fast. In fact, the only criticism the test driver at Edmunds had was that the car is absolutely reluctant to downshift at all whatsoever.

The Phantom Drophead Coupe costs $410,000. It's fairly pretty - or at least the designers and people who like Rolls-Royces think it's pretty. The Coupe actually looks a bit chubby, with a large, snub nose and a humongous grille right between its little eyes, making it resembled a flat-faced Persian kitten.

The inside is full of soft leather, wood and chrome, most of the parts that increase the car's worth to half a million dollars. The test drivers gave mega props to the stereo, which almost has the power to put the vocalist right into the car beside you. The stereo has an outrageous number of speakers.

The driving experience probably resembles the experience that you get when you're in one of those adventure rides where it is actually the scenery around your car that's moving around – not you. This car can create a special environment and insulate you from the world.

If you are a fan of the Rolls-Royce and you can afford the hefty price tag, then this may be a highly enjoyable car for you. There is definitely a sense of a completely new vehicle. And it is, after all, a convertible.

Koenigsegg

The Koenigsegg car brand is still quite young. The concept of the future machine was based on Formula One technology. Can it be surprisung that Koenigsegg became one of the fastest streetcars in the world?

Koenigsegg constructed its first prototype car in 1994, in only one and a half years after company establishing. The world-renowned drivers tested this model and were all amazed by its incredible performance. Among them were Picko Troberg, Calle Rosenblad and Rickard Rydell. As Picko said, the new car would be the king of the speed.

In 1997, the company created Koenigsegg CC prototype. The car was shown at the Cannes film festival and had great success. The new star comes out to the automobile world. The silver production prototype CC received great attention at its presentation at the Paris Motor Show. Articles about it were published in most of world car magazines.

The first custom Koenigsegg CC, named CC 8S, was assembled and handed over to its proud owner at the Geneva Motor Show in March. This red car was also tested by Koenigsegg test drivers on racetracks and roads, for further look and drivability refine.

In 2003, the Koenigsegg vehicles set the Guinness World Record as most powerful streetcars. In the meantime company engineers were working on the improvement of CC. Some new ideas in design and look were implemented on the 2003 model CC 8S.

The new Koenigsegg CCR was presented at Geneva Motor Show in March 2004. That splendid car had 806 horsepower and could achieve extremely high speed. In 2005 February, 28th the CCR broke the road car speed record, achieving a new official top speed of 388 (387.87) km/h at Italy's Nardo Prototipo proving ground.

Nowadays company creates new exotic cars. The CCXR prototype was presented at Geneva MotorShow 2007. This "green" car runs on biofuel and ha the powerful engine (1018 hp at 7200 rpm). That means that Koenigsegg CCXR will be even faster than the 1001-hp Bugatti Veyron.

Porsche Carrera GT

The Porsche Carrera GT with its streamlined complete bodywork speeds up like a world-class runner on the road. This high-performance Carrera GT with technology of the future sports a V10 engine allowing for more than 600 horsepower and a lay out of burning edge technologies letting in a ceramic composite clutch and brakes below its carbon-reinforced body. Porsche claims that the Carrera GT can skip from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds. This is not just your ordinary racing car, yet it is amazingly quick as lightning. Second gear stints to an suggested 82 mph, third gear is adept at 113 mph, and fourth speeds up to 143 mph. But with the Carrera GT, and an ameliorated shift to Fifth gear revs at 170 mph. And maximum yet very satisfying sixth gear quickly runs to 7000 rpm. The Porsche Carrera GT 2007 takes you from zero to gone.

The quickest and the most expensive A-one car ( approx. $484,000) is the Porsche Carrera GT 2007. Amidst the super cars, its unparalleled features are its 5.7-liter, 605-horsepower V10 engine, and its monocoque chassis with Porsche-patented engine and transmission mounts cleared of carbon-reinforced plastic and the foremost use of a ceramic composite clutch. To lower the car's center of gravity, the clutch diameter was belittled. Its race-bred suspension and aerodynamic package plies secure and unchanging move at speeds of up to 205 mph (330 km/h). The Carrera GT sports the panoptic use of lightweight materials, such as magnesium for its significant wheels and the frames of its exceptional sport seats. The Carrera GT is a perfect; Porsche has done something spectacular in designing a new transversally mounted transmission.

Porsche Carrera GT ‘s chassis and suspension is based on the engineering of the Porsche GT1, the automobile that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1998. Porsche engineers did not forget to consider the driving comfort when they accommodated such racing-bred systems for this super car. The Carrera GT uses pushrod suspension with double-track control arms at all four corners to give the Carrera refined response & behavior of racing cars.

Interior; the Porsche Carrera GT 2007 was made with more service ambience and the encompassing usage of high-tech materials. Hence, not excluding its racing quality and performance. Magnesium, carbon, and leather are abundant inside with complex components either in their innate position or painted to correspond with the magnesium pieces. The Carrera GT features the chassis number imprinted on the surface. The car’s center console has galvanized magnesium and the shift lever is laid around halfway up the console immediately next to the steering wheel.

Air conditioning is modified for weight with a standard air filter system. Compared to the model from the previous year, this one shows off its stylish alterations that any car lover would be dying to get their hands on. In the range of the $200 000 exotic cars, the Bentley's coupes symbolizes a car fairly more refined, yet still a sporty vehicle - optional to others like Lamborghini, Aston Martin and Ferrari. As stated by Bentley, the 2008 Bentley Mansory Continental GT was "conceived to be a sporting coupe without rival." Besides the amazing design of this car, it also offers an all wheel ride as well as four very comfortable seats. It has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in an amazing 4.6 seconds! The GT Speed vehicle can do the same, but in an even more amazing 4.3 seconds! Both of these vehicles can do a maximum speed of approximately 200 miles per hour.

Characteristics of the 2008 Bentley Mansory Continental GT include cross stitching on the door panels and seats, wood veneers, two-toned steering wheel and a built in phone that can now function in six different languages. The seat belts and floor carpets match the interior tone of the vehicle. Some of the interior changes that have been made to the car are the four seats, which can comfortably accommodate people up to six feet tall. The designers of the interior of the vehicle worked with a few basketball players during their designing, to ensure that tall people and people of all sizes and shapes would be accommodated in the vehicle. Some of the interior, like the leather upholstery and wood can be specified as it doesn't only come in one type.

A regular dashboard with a fashionable console that climbs upward and curves to the sides in an awesome shape that imitates the Bentley wing emblem design featured inside the 2008 Bentley Mansory Continental GT. Most of the routine controls may be accessed conveniently from the steering wheel so there is no reason to take your hands off the wheel and put yourself in danger when you want to make use of the controls. For this vehicle, the display of the driver's information provides a completely new look; by displaying the information with thin film technology which offers the driver a clearer view of the data. A new dashboard clock features on the dashboard, and there is an original satellite radio. Also stepped up a notch in the vehicle is the Bluetooth system that is now improved and compatible with cell-phones and some voice dialing options. Some other options include a back-up camera and a perfectly comfortable three spoke steering wheel. The 2008 Bentley Mansory Continental GT also features drilled alloy pedals and a leather and chrome gearshift.

The exterior of the car is different, but one can still see that it is a GT. The changes that have been made to the exterior of the 2008 Bentley Mansory Continental GT are the new grille that looks different in the sense of its shape as it has been made slightly more vertical and even more squared off on the ends. The bumper has an air intake that is a lot wider and the quad headlights have been restyled to suit the rest of the vehicle.

The appearance of the 2008 Bentley Mansory Continental GT is not the same as the previous models which portrayed a delicate touch of sporty design, the 2008 model is sportier than any of the other models and this can be seen without even studying the car up close. The designers of the vehicle needed to blend the customary Bentley seal as well as hand craftsmanship with superior quality and technology as well as a modern profile. Typical tires for this vehicle are 19 inches. The back spoiler will automatically rise when the car reaches a high speed and many will say that this is the feature of the vehicle they admire the most. The air springs of the car hold certain electric dampers. These dampers have been modified to improve the comfort of the ride.

Under the hood of the 2008 Bentley Mansory Continental GT is where it all happens! Working with identical turbo-chargers, the 4 overhead cam 6 liter W 12 can make 552 horsepower at 6100 revs per minute and 479 feet-pounds of torque. The Speed model of the GT basically has the same engine as the 2008 Bentley Mansory Continental GT, except it is more advanced with certain parts.

Safety is a major issue with the vehicles and drivers of today, but there are more than enough safety precautions within this vehicle, the rest is up to the driver. Air disc brakes feature Bosch anti-lock mechanisms with brake force allocation. Carbon earthenware brakes are also an option if you would rather prefer something like that. The normal electronic system adds an extra Sport traction mode which will allow wheel-spinning easily at slow speeds. Another safety precaution that this car has is side curtain and side impact airbags.

The 2008 Bentley Mansory Continental GT is available in different colors, but the certain colors in which you can get them may depend on where you purchase them. Normally, you will have a choice when it comes to the interior as well as the exterior color of the vehicle. This is also when you will determine the other optional factors of the vehicle. There may not be all that many features that you can personalize to the exact way you want it, but it is more than any previous model of this kind has ever offered before.

This is a wonderful car, whether it is for a male or female; it's great, sporty looking, but at the same time as stylish as a car can get. It rides smoothly and it is the ideal car for any sporty-car lover!

Subaru’s Impreza WRX

Subaru’s new Impreza WRX goes on sale in Japan this week as a late 2007 model, and with it come greater anticipation for the high-performance STI version, which won't be officially revealed until the Tokyo auto show in October later this year.

The Subaru Impreza WRX five-door hatchback (known as the Impreza S-GT in Japan) features a turbocharged 2.0-liter version of the Subaru boxer-4, and it produces 248 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. When this car hits U.S. shores this fall as a 2008 model, it will have a 2.5-liter iteration of this engine that produces about 225 hp and 226 pound-feet of torque. In the UK, tight European emissions laws mean buyers won't be offered the WRX model when the hatch arrives there later this year.

Meanwhile, the “wilder”, high-performance 2008 Subaru WRX STI expected to remain under cover until the Tokyo auto show already has a few key facts leaked.

The WRX STI draws motorsports technology directly from Subaru expertise in World Rally Championship (WRC) competition and is designed to appeal to the most serious driving enthusiasts. STI stands for Subaru Tecnica International -- the high-performance and motorsports subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd.

The highly anticipated STI is set to be powered by a tuned version of the 2.5-litre boxer engine turbocharged to produce more than 300hp and around 400Nm of torque, be mated to Subaru's existing six-speed manual box. A new automated manual, sourced from specialist firm Aisin, is expected to join the line-up when the latest Impreza is facelifted in 2009.

Subaru is making sure that the new Impreza can and will give its archrival, the 2008 Mitsubishi Evo X - which will feature an optional twin-clutch sequential-manual gearbox with steering-wheel-mounted shift paddles – a run for its money.

The top Impreza will offer a range of unique styling additions, including a specially developed bonnet, grille and a wide front bumper with big air intakes.

Flared wheelarches house smart 18-inch alloys, which will hide the existing STI's Brembo brake system. Buyers can expect to see minor tweaks to the all-wheel-drive system, and engineers have also taken the opportunity to tune the handling, thanks to a more compact double wishbone rear suspension set-up.

Inside, the new Impreza range boasts higher-quality trim, with the STI getting a pair of supportive bucket seats up front to boost its sporty appeal.

Subaru (maker of top of the line Subaru oxygen sensor), has also told Inside Line that a turbocharged boxer-4 diesel for the WRX is in the works and should be out by early 2009. The company is reportedly eager to drop a high-mpg diesel into the Forester and Impreza soon after the Legacy gets Subaru's first diesel next summer, so the WRX is part of the program. Sources from Subaru have also reportedly confirmed that the company is working on a five-speed automatic and a continuously variable transmission, and both these options could be offered as early as mid-2009.

Subaru is a Japanese car company and is the automotive division of Fuji Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (FHI). It is currently an affiliate of Toyota Motor Corporation, with it owning 8.7% of FHI. It is seen by car experts as an even more charged version of the previous V8 Vantage that was released by Aston Martin. The car has even more power and is available as both a coupe and a roadster. The Aston Martins are very popular and are loved for both their engines as well as their sleek looks. The Vantage N400 is a special edition vehicle that is as gorgeous and as it is powerful. History of Aston Martin

Aston Martin is a British vehicle manufacturer that is cantered in Gaydon, Warwickshire, England. It was started by Robert Bamford and Lionel Martin in 1913. The two men had partnered to sell cars made by Singer in 1912. The two men decided to make their own cars and named their model the Aston Martin after Martin's love of the hill climb races at Aston Hill (which is near Aston Clinton). The first Aston Martin ever produced was a four cylinder Coventry-simplex engine that was on the chassis of an Isotta Fraschini from 1908. The car was made before they managed to acquire manufacturing premises in Kensington at Henniker Place (this happened in 1915). Unfortunately mass production of their cars could not start as soon as the partner's had hoped because of the outbreak of the first World War, which is when Martin joined the Royal Army Service Corps and they sold all of their machinery to the Sopwith Aviation Company.

The company was re-founded and revitalized after the war ended when the company received financing from Count Louis Zborowski. Bramford left the company in 1920 but not until they had designed a new car.

Over the course of the car's history, Aston Martins have been made to compete in the French Grand Prix (1922); they have set world endurance and speed records at Brooklands. The company has failed two times, once in 1924 and in 1925 with a factory closing taking place in 1926. The company was finally bought by some very rich investors, Lady Charnwood among them, and it was renamed Aston Martin Motors. The company headquarters were moved to Feltham and in 1929 the Aston Martin International racer car was a huge success.

In 2007, the company was purchased by David Richards, who is the Prodrive chairman. It is still co-owned by Ford (a development that happened in 1994). The company has also recently opened dealers in Europe and China. Now the company has dealers in 28 countries.

Aston Martin in the Media

The Aston Martin is most famously the car of that popular super spy, James Bond. The author of James Bond, Ian Fleming, gave his protagonist a DB Mark III in Goldfinger, the seventh James Bond book. The car first appeared on film in 1964 with the release of Goldfinger the movie and quickly became James Bond's company car. In the most recent James Bond movie, two Aston Martin cars are driven: the classic DB5 and the new DB5.

The V8 Vantage N400

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400 was made to commemorate the achievements of Aston Martin at Nurburgring where the car has had extreme success in racing. This is absolutely a race car but it also has a variety of technical upgrades and enhancements to the usual standard range of external specifications.

The most important development in this special edition vehicle is the 4.3 litre V8 engine, which is much more virile than the engines in previous models. The new car has a power of 400bhp and a torque peak of 420Nm. It also comes with a "Sports Pack." This "Sports Pack" is tailored to racing dynamics fans that are in search of a car with superior handling. The Sports Pack is responsible for the car's wheels (aluminum) and turning (diamond), springs (up-rated), dampers and the coupe is equipped with an anti-roll bar. The Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400 comes standard as a two-door coupe that seats two and has a convertible top. It has a six-speed transmission and the Sports Package comes with a sport shift option. It has sports suspension and cruise control.

This car also comes standard with satellite navigation, a premium audio system, exterior mirrors that are power fold, heated memory seats, cruise control and even preparation for the Bluetooth telephone.

Options of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400

The N400 has a ton of special options that buyers can order to enhance what is already a magnificent vehicle. American buyers can choose to add a Satellite radio system and Roadster owners can choose to add a wind deflector and hood colors. Buyers in the UK can choose to add a tracking device. Other special options include an alarm upgrade, a battery conditioner and an auto-dimming interior rear view mirror. There are also the options of including an alternative brake caliper finish as well as a smoker's pack.

The Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400 is going to be a rare car as only two hundred and forty of them will be made and they are already in great demand. Aston Martins, as a rule are rare as the company's history has led to less than fifteen thousand of them being produced. These spectacular cars are the dream of every car enthusiast in the world.

Because of the rarity of these cars, the reviews are few and far between. In fact, a web search will only turn up basic information gathered from the Aston Martin website and a bunch of photos. Car enthusiasts agree, the car is absolutely gorgeous and is being drooled over by car fanatics from all over the world.

The Aston Martin Company hasn't had an easy time of it, but there is no doubt that the cars created by this company are superior to almost every other car on the road. They are beautiful and extremely sporty. After all, no matter what the stakes in a poker game might be, James Bond would not drive just any car, right?

Fiat Abarth Grande Punto

Abarth rose to fame as an independent automotive racing company that primarily used tuned Ferraris and Porsches. In 1971 Abarth was purchased by Fiat and became the racing department of Fiat as well as subsidiaries Lancia and Autobianchi. The Abarth scorpion logo became something to fear in rally and hill climb races. The Autobianchi Abarth A112 was particularly successful and popular. Fiat is now bringing the Abarth badge back with the 2007 Fiat Abarth Grande Punto. Abarth will act as its own separate division within Fiat.

The 2007 Fiat Abarth Grande Punto was revealed at Geneva this year to a very happy crowd. The new Abarth Punto looks much sleeker and sexier than past Fiat Puntos and has a very clean look due to the taillights being mounted high. This also has many sporty cues that differentiate it from a standard Fiat Punto. First of all there is a dual exhaust along with racing-style wheels. Big disc brakes and red calipers give off a sporty appearance to those who know where to look. And racing stripes along the bottom of the car make its sportiness known to even the uninitiated.

There have been Abarth editions of the Fiat Punto in the past, but they were not true Abarth cars. For one, they were created by Fiat rather than being tuned by Abarth engineers. Secondly, they did not have any true mechanical upgrades and instead featured only styling changes such as body kits. The 2007 Abarth Punto is going to be a true Abarth road car with vastly upgraded performance.

It will come with a 1.4 liter turbocharged engine that makes 150 horsepower at only 5500 RPM. Even better, the car will make 155 horsepower on 98 RON gasoline, if the owner is so inclined. There will also be a booster kit available soon after the car goes on sale. This kit will allow the car to make 180 horsepower. For such a light car 180 horsepower is an extreme amount. Many American and Japanese sport compact cars make 190-230 horsepower, but they are much larger and heavier than the little Punto. Many small sporty cars like the Punto that have small high performance engines require a high engine speed to make good power. For example, many Honda four cylinders engines need to rev over 7000 RPM to make over 180 horsepower. The Abarth Punto engine is very small, but it has good mid-range power and torque. Time will tell whether the stressed-out pumped-up 1.4 liter turbo engine will be reliable in the long term, but unless the owner does any aggressive engine modifications the engine should be pretty stout.

Handling and braking, too, will no doubt be world class. However, the best part may be the price. While the car will not be marketed until September and no price is set, it will surely be less expensive than the American and Japanese sport compact cars, and will likely get better gas mileage as well. This makes the 2007 Fiat Abarth Grande Punto a perfect choice for young buyers that want an inexpensive car that will get good gas mileage and still be very fun to drive.

Abarth is also making a return to rally racing with the new Abarth Grande Punto. The 2007 Grande Punto S2000 will be entered into the Italian Rally Championship using Giandomenico Basso and Mitia Dotta and driver and navigator. The S2000 racing version of the car will make 270 horsepower and have all wheel drive. The S2000 is also set to race in the World Rally Championship next year in hopes of getting international acclaim.

As the S2000 racing version of the Grande Punto is put through its paces on the rally courses around the world, the Abarth team will get precious data on how the car works and what can be done to improve it in racing conditions. These advances will surely trickle down to the consumer and more official parts will become available to increase the streetcars' performance. Third party tuners will likely create products as well to fill the demand created by rally fans wanting to turn their road car into a street legal race car resembling the official Fiat Abarth rally car in looks and performance.

Mercedes-Benz SLR Mclaren

Mercedes-Benz is planning to release soon in the market a SLR McLaren super sports car roadster with a top. And in keeping with the Formula 1 vehicles of today the German division of DaimlerChrysler will employ carbon fiber--- which is a type of material used for vehicles of today that possess a very high degree of safety and extreme torsional stiffness---similar to the SLR McLaren coupe version. This will provide the upcoming super sports car roadster with a combination of racing type chassis coupled with outstanding ride characteristics.

The new Roadster will be powered by same AMG V8 compressor engine as the McLaren coupe producing 617 bhp, and uses the same AMG Speedshift R five-speed automatic transmission that will enable the Roadster to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in a matter of 3.2 seconds. The maximum speed of the Roadster will remain at 332 km/h or 207 mph same as that of the coupe.

The retractable top of the Roadster provides pure open-air driving pleasure and despite its luxurious feel it still makes a suitable mode of everyday transport. With the coming of the new Roadster it will surely open up a new dimension in terms of refinement for convertible super sports car.

And just like the McLaren coupe version the new Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster will also be equipped with loads of stunning Mercedes-Benz accessories. It is also said that the new Roadster is more of a blend of the legendary SLR racing models dating back to the 50s with that of the innovative technology of modern Formula 1 vehicles from the Vodafone-McLaren-Mercedes team.

The new Roadster will also sport some typical styling elements like the arrow-shaped tip derived from the Formula 1 Silver Arrow, distinctive lateral louvers, wide opening gullwing doors, and side pipes behind the front wheels are styling from the SLR legend of the 50s.

The new Roadster has benefited immensely from the long years of experience of both Mercedes-Benz and its Formula 1 partner McLaren. It is demonstrated in every components and styling details that the Roadster has. Take for instance the vehicle’s two aluminum engine frames and its entirely carbon-fiber body which makes the vehicle unique from among the high-performance sports cars.

The Roadster’s carbon-fiber technology was developed further for the monocoque chassis which resulted to its low weight and outstanding energy absorption capability providing occupants with additional amount of safety and a degree of torsional stiffness which have not been attained in any open-top vehicles ever produced. This leads to remarkable ride qualities which are only found in closed-top super sports cars.

The incomparable qualities of the new SLR McLaren Roadster are also attributed to the fully retractable top that blends perfectly with the fluid lines of the Roadster. Moreover its newly developed roof material available in three colors is not only suitable for everyday weather conditions but also provide the Roadster with characteristics that are unique in a roadster. For instance at 332 km/h which is the maximum attainable speed of the roadster, conversation is still possible even with the top opened and such is attributed to the remarkable aeroacoustics that the vehicle possess.

The top is also very easy and quick to operate. It only takes 10 seconds to open and close the top. And since aluminum cover is incorporated into its front section, the roof gracefully closes off the top once retracted. If there’s one thing that the new Roadster can boast of it would be its high degree of safety which is guaranteed by its one-of-a-kind carbon fiber crash elements, steel reinforced A-pillars and tow fixed rollover bars. Add to it the comprehensive list of safety features that include adaptive airbags, knee and side airbags, belt tensioners, and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

Its exclusive standard equipment is comprised of semi-aniline-upholstered carbon-fiber bucket seats which are adaptable to both the driver and the front passenger through the use a range of seat pads; a high-quality BOSE premium sound system; dual-zone automatic air-conditioning; a multifunction sport steering wheel with gear-change paddles, and a Navigation system with integral radio and CD Player.

The new SLR McLaren Roadster just like the McLaren coupe is going to be built at McLaren’s Formula 1 factory in Woking, England and would be created in accordance to the strict quality criteria of Mercedes-Benz. The new Roadster is scheduled to hit dealerships in September 2007.

Audi R8

Audi R8 has made a spectacular debut at the Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris last 2006. The super ultra-high performance Audi R8 combines tradition of the best classic sports car with futuristic construction, suspension technologies, and transmission supported by the strong reassurance of the Quattro four-wheel drive system.

Mounted longitudinally directly behind the cockpit of its comparatively lightweight 1,560 kilogram aluminum bodied Audi sports car is a powerful V8 engine. Spinning freely to its 8,250 rpm limit, the Audi R8 can sprint to 62 mph in a matter of 4.6 seconds and can reach a top speed of 187 mph which is extraordinary for a road-going Audi.

Sport cars enthusiasts may choose a six-speed manual transmission to channel the torque to the four driven wheels however the racing inspired “R tronic “ sequential shift gearbox with joystick and paddle control which uses shift by wire technology will surely entice more driving purists since it provide an unmatched rapid gear changes.

The Audi R8 has a near perfect 44 percent front/56 percent rear weight distribution for optimum handling balance and this was made possible through the efforts of Audi engineers who have device a method that involves the mounting of the powerful eight-cylinder unit as close as possible to the centre of the R8. A dry sump engine lubrication which was another first in the R8 also enabled the V8 to be mounted as close to the road as possible and lower the car’s centre of gravity.

The front and rear double wishbone suspension provides the needed agility of the R8 and can be controlled using a more traditional spring-and-damper set-up giving which results to a remarkably composed and comfortable ride which levels to the super car standards or by the advanced Audi magnetic ride system which was first seen in the new TT coupe. The R8 is also equipped with especially designed VW headlights which make use of the LED technology.

The classy dampers fitted as part of the Audi magnetic ride system swap conventional damper fluid for a magnetorheological fluid possessing minute magnetic particles that can be influenced by an electromagnetic field. And since it contains magnetic particles once voltage is applied the viscosity of the fluid is altered by the affected magnetic particles increasing resistance to the damper movement to iron out pitch and roll when necessary. This process also reduces resistance resulting to a more comfortable ride. The system continuously monitors road conditions and driving style and reacts accordingly to the info gathered.

Lastly the 19-inch 5 double spoke design alloy wheels that is fitted with 235/30 size tires at the front and 295/30 size at the rear performs really well with the help of the fast reacting hydraulic rack and pinion steering.

Volkswagen Golf

The Volkswagen Golf, a public icon for the past 30 years. With the heritage from the Mk1 GTi directly traceable from the current model even after all these years, the Golf is the car for all drivers.

The new Volkswagen Golf, or Mk5 as it is known had a lot to live up to. Every incarnation of the popular little hatch has been a fantastic car that has just kept getting better and better. The new Golf though shouldn’t disappoint.

Externally the new Golf is bigger than its predecessor, which you wouldn’t notice unless they were side by side, but it does lend the car a slightly more aggressive stance. It also goes without saying that the larger size has been put to good use by increasing interior space.

Internally the new Golf has carried forwards the tradition of being very well put together. The whole car feels like a quality machine to sit in, and with some luxury saloon options available, its easy to forget your in a small hatchback. There is ample room to seat 3 children or 2 adults in the back. The boot is an ample size too.

All New Volkswagen Golf’s come well equipped with toys. Even the most basic models come with a CD player, remote central locking and electric front windows.

There is a choice of 15 petrol engines, 14 diesel and countless trim levels on offer. The engines range from the frugal 79bhp Golf 1.4s to the mammoth 3.2 247bhp R32 4Motion, plus something between to suit most tastes.

All Volkswagen Golf’s are renowned for being good handling, great fun to drive little cars and the new Golf Mk5 upholds that tradition. The steering is direct and sharp, and the suspension handles well, but without being overly firm. The grip levels are also surprisingly good, and the 2 wheel drive models feel ample, although the 4 wheel drive cars have an even more reassuringly sure footed.

Nissan Skyline

Know affectionately as Godzilla among its enthusiasts, the Nissan Skyline truly is a fine Japanese sports car, and by gum what a fine looking beast she is too. They're not all that common around the USA, so when you do come across one there are plenty of curious admirers and enthusiasts gathering around whenever these cars park up.

Believe it or not, the Nissan Skyline has been around for some 45 years and has deservedly picked up many prestigious awards along the way. However, there was a 10 year period where production stopped, but delighted fans were over the moon when Nissan announced in 1989 that it would be releasing an all new GT-R Skyline.

The few years after the production of this stylish machine, the GT-R Skyline was awarded with the Japanese Touring Car Championship for Group 'A' touring cars. In 1994, because of its phenomenal success, the Nissan Skyline was given its own series. This series was aptly named the Japan GT Car series.

Although the Nissan Skyline was a much sought after motor in the United States of America, the Skyline GT-R was never made to comply with US standards, but all was not lost thanks to Motorex. Motorex imports and modifies the Nissan Skyline GT-R so that it complies with these standards and consequently these cars can then be released on American soil.

The Nissan Skyline GT-R is not a cheap car but it is a dream of many a young driver. Sadly for them, most only get to push the pedal to the floor by driving it via a computer screen. It's a real popular choice in computer racing games and for good reason.

Options for the Nissan Skyline have come as a sedan or a coupe. If you're not sure what the modern models look like, just do a search on Google images for the Nissan Skyline GT-R and you will be able to see for yourself why this car is so pleasing to the eye. If you're into the mechanics of the motor, there are a plethora of sites out there that will strip it down to the bare bones and rebuild it for you bit by bit.

Cars are more than just a means of transport, in fact many men treat their vehicles with the same tender loving care as they do to their women. Now I'm not saying there's anything healthy in that, but it's the way it is, and I would go as far to say that many a boy racer would live in his car rather than get rid of it, and especially if it was a Nissan Skyline GT-R.

BMW M6

The BMW M6 is the most sophisticated and powerful BMW 6 Series Coupé ever. Under the lightweight body of this luxurious 2+2 lurks a thoroughbred super sports car boasting a V10, 507bhp power unit, providing 520Nm of torque. A seven-speed sequential manual gearbox and a superior chassis and suspension compliments its engine.
The all-new M6 features weight-saving technologies such as a carbon-fiber roof and 19-inch forged aluminum wheels that are almost four pounds lighter than regular cast wheels. With almost 500 horsepower available, BMW claims the M6 will hit 60 mph in under 4.6 seconds, and it will run to 20 5mph without the traditional 155-mph speed limiter.

The suspension, though similar to that of the M5, is specially tuned to take advantage of the M6's shorter wheelbase and lower center of gravity. Massive cross-drilled brakes enable the M6 to pull up from 60 mph in less than 118 feet. The new M6 also uses BMW's new third-generation seven speed Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG) with Drivelogic. Drivelogic offers the choice of 11 different change patterns, depending on the speed of change required.

The new SMG gearbox also offers safety benefits when downshifting on slippery surfaces. If it detects the rear wheels locking up, the clutch opens for a fraction of a second to ensure traction is maintained. In automatic mode, the SMG gearbox recognizes that the car is traveling on an incline and holds gears uphill to maintain acceleration and selects lower gears when progressing downhill to make the most of the available engine braking.

The BMW M6 has deeper front valance with air intakes for the engine and brakes, more contoured sills and rear valance that includes a diffuser to increase aerodynamic efficiency. Driving dynamics, motoring comfort and generous space inside redefines the new BMW series. Featuring more powerful and fuel efficient four and six cylinder engines, innovative assistance systems, a wide range of safety features, as well as a superior standard of equipment, the new BMW series of today need no less than superior BMW replacement parts when the need arises.

Honda Civic Type R

The new Honda Civic has been designed to appeal to all markets. In days gone by, Honda’s were considered to be an old man’s car. To combat this, Honda took the previously bland Civic and turned it into a futuristic spaceship car that looks modern inside and out. Don’t worry though, Honda may have made the Civic pretty, but it is still the incredibly reliable, economical and an all round fantastic car it always has been.

The new Civic boasts Honda’s legendary build quality and reliability, and this is obvious when you’re in the cabin, with all materials used being high quality and giving a very sturdy feel. The modern styling from outside of the Civic has been carried through into the interior with loads of clever bits like a high mounted digital speedo and the switchgear being clustered together by theme. All the controls are well thought out and easy to use.

Space in the new Civic has ample space to seat four adults, plus the boot is huge and has a low lip to make loading easy.

The whole range of new Civics comes with a good level of standard specification, with even the base model benefiting from steering wheel adjustment, four electric windows, trip computer, twin front, side and curtain airbags, plus Stability control.

The new Civics’ real party trick apart from its modern styling is its driving appeal. Honda is renowned for building inspired engines, and the new Civic is no letdown. From the 1.4 petrol to the 2.2 diesel, all engines are economical and range from sprightly to plain fast. Add to the lineup of great engines a fine chassis and impressive handling, and you end up with a truly rewarding car.

The new Civic Type-R is so good; it has to be mentioned separately. It is the absolute ‘gem’ of the Civic family, and will excite all who drive it. If you can cope with the slightly firmer suspension, this car will be your very own Jekyll and Hyde.

By day the Civic Type-R is a livable family car with seating for 4 adults, a great boot and a reasonable average mpg of 31. By night the Civic Type-R disperses the 0-60 dash in 6.6 secs, and continues on to drive like a hooligan. The VTEC engine screams like a racecar and will make all the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. The handling is superb and the fun factor is off the scale.
