This video shows you how to build your own water cooling system for you PC. If you don't know about this method check this basic info from wiki. I can say only that water cooling is more effective than air cooling. For cooling CPU cores, this is its primary advantage: the tremendously increased ability to transport heat away from source to a secondary cooling surface allows for large, more optimally designed radiators rather than small, inefficient fins mounted on or near a heat source such as a CPU core. And of course, the water cover around an engine is also very useful at deadening mechanical noises, which makes the engine quieter.

Morph, a joint nanotechnology concept, developed by Nokia Research Center (NRC) and the University of Cambridge (UK) - was launched alongside the "Design and the Elastic Mind" exhibition, on view from February 24 to May 12, 2008, at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX Specification

VR-Zone has some details and photos of the first single GPU high-end GeForce 9 series card. The 65nm G92 based GeForce 9800 GTX (G92-P392) will come with 12-layer PCB. It will be clocked at 673MHz for the core and 1683MHz for the shader while memory clock speed is yet to be determined. The memory interface is 256-bit with 512MB of 136-pin BGA GDDR3 memory onboard. The card will come with two DVI-I and one HDTV-out. As mentioned earlier all GeForce 9800 GTX will have two SLI connectors (3-way SLI ready) and two 6-pin PCIe power connectors. The card will be cooled by the CoolerMaster TM67 cooler where the fan is rated at 0.34A, 4.08W, 2900rpm, 34dBA. During 100% load the card will consume around 168W. The GeForce 9800 GTX is set to be released around April.

Six-Core Processor Comming Soon

Intel is planning on making some headache to AMD figures again in a few months, by developing a six-core processor. While AMD is still tweaking on a way to merely get four cores to work in tandem, Intel is hard at work shoving two more cores on one die. This six-core juggernaut will be succeeded by the even beefier Nehalem micro-architecture, which could have up to eight cores on one die and it will be called 'Dunnington'. Most of the Dunnington project is still top-secret, but some say that Intel already has most of the hard work done.

USB Gloves For Cold Weather

If you can get in some cold situation and remain without a central heating, these gloves are very helpful. If some USB-port is nearby of course. They are made of a wool and carbon fibres. Such combination of materials will allow to keep heat for a long time.

Gloves work from any USB port, whether it be notebook or the game console. Fingers will remain free, that will allow to print with comfort on the keyboard or to play new game. For extreme cases the clasped top part which will warm fingers is stipulated. I think you wanna try :)

NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 Hot News

NVIDIA finally revealed the clock speeds of the GeForce 9800 GX2 codenamed D9E-40 today to its partners. Stock speeds for all 9800 GX2 cards are set to 600MHz for core, 1.5GHz for shaders and 1GHz for the yet to be finalized in size GDDR3 memory. Hypothetically the card's performance should be slightly higher than 2 x 8800GT in SLI. Today also marks the start of GeForce 9800 GX2 working sample shipments to all NVIDIA partners, so expect more and more pictures of the cards over the net from now on. The official launch is less than a month away on March 11th, two days after the end of CeBIT 2008.

If you have a bit of free time you can mod all your computer accessories from scratch. I’m talking real hard core stuff.

This is totally awesome stainless steel mouse! Even the connector has been cast from steel. This mouse mod is based on Microsoft’s IntelliMouse Optical and is USB+PS/2 compatible.

It took the creator nearly 8 months to make this thing and he claimst that it is ergonomic and fully functional. With all the steel this mouse is apparently heavy but its newness and style is sure going to add a glint to all the eye cast on it.

GeForce 8800GT 512MB Overclocked

American high-end memory manufacturer Mushkin has revealed that it is working on a new GeForce 8800 GT version, the 8800 GT G92 512 Mushkin HP Overclocked Edition v2. Mushkin has equipped the card with custom dual-slot cooler and 512MB GDDR3 memory clocked at 1900 MHz. The core frequency for this model has also been changed to 675MHz from the standard 600MHz. Other unique features come with the card's bundle, where you'll find a Mushkin T-shirt and USB flash drive with drivers. Expect HP Overclocked Edition 8800 GT v2 later this month for around 260 Euros.

To run this demo smoothly, you'll need a Core 2 Duo or Athlon X2 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a GeForce 7600 / ATI Radeon X1600 or better graphics card. You can download it from here. Nvidia will Buy Ageia

Nvidia, the world's largest manufacturer of 3D-videocards, has declared purchase of company Ageia well known maker of processors and program complexes PhysX for physical calculations.

PhysX is already used in more than 140 games on various platforms and over 10,000 registered users of the PhysX developer toolkit. With PhysX in games it is possible to observe realistic explosions, traces from shots and other physical effects. Nvidia is going to apply technology PhysX in GeForce series.

What Nvidia plans to do with PhysX is evident, and company CEO Jen-Hsun Huang makes no secret of it in the acquisition press release. "By combining the teams that created the world's most pervasive GPU and physics engine brands, we can now bring GeForce®-accelerated PhysX to hundreds of millions of gamers around the world," Huang announces.

The sum and conditions of the transaction do not reveal.

Intel Reaches Two Billion Transistors

Intel seems to be the first with a processor that contains over 2 billion transistors. Intel is taking Moore’s law to heart, the law states that the number of transistors you are able to pack into a chip doubles every two years, this new chip has just about succeeded in that. The equal in strength processor to this one, codenamed Tukwila, two years ago had just 592 million transistors. Tukwila is clocked at a modest 2.0 Ghz, but the increased transistor count is primarily used for memory, a move that Intel believes will make the chip much more efficient. Will Intel be able to keep up with Moore’s law, even with this release? It looks promising as Tukwila is based off of Intel’s 65nm technology, so shrinking it down will leave more space for expansion. Look for Tukwila in the second part of the year, however be prepared as its use is largely reserved for commercial servers.

Overclockers Have Problems with Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

Basically, there's not much more to this story than the title: the E8400 series of Core 2 Duo processors might have a heat problem. A consensus among the more daring overclockers is that the thermal diode on-board these processors is very far off from the actual temperature of the processor, tricking overclockers into not giving the CPU adequate cooling, and tricking the motherboard into not turning the fan speed up high enough (if the CPU fan speed is controlled by the motherboard). Intel denies all of these allegations, and their very detailed response can be read here

For any of you getting an E8400, make sure to give it proper cooling, and to not let it go above 72.4 degrees centigrade.

The Configuration of this miracle isn't very special: 3GHz Intel E6850 CPU, 2GB 667MHz DDR2 RAM, a 1TB hard drive, a dual Blu-ray/HD DVD drive and a 256MB GeForce 8400GS.

Of course, if that’s just out of your price range you could always go for Jupiter’s little brother Mars, which has the same specs but with gold instead of platinum. That sells for a mere ¥60,000,000 which is just under $565,000. I think i'll buy one or two those cases tomorrow if someone presents me one or two millions :)

GeForce 9600 GT SLI benchmarks

Latest preview test from Chiphell sees two regular G94-powered GeForce 9600 GTs (64 Stream Processors, 512MB GDDR3, 650 MHz core, 1650 MHz shaders, 1800 MHz memory) being coupled with a system consisting of a E6850 at 3.0 GHz, a nForce 680i SLI board, 2GB of DDR2-800 memory plus Windows Vista and the infamous ForceWare 171.16 beta driver (which you can get from this page) and benchmarked with Futuremark's 3DMark03, 05 and 06.

A single 9600 GT scored 10036 points in 3DMark06 (default benchmark) while the SLI setup topped 13080, over 900 points over the results of an 8800 Ultra - 12142. In 3DMark05 at 1280x1024 the 9600 GT SLI setup reached 18427 (16141 for the single card) while in 3DMark03 the pair scored just short of 45000.
